SWF: Generation Supreme

Recommended Posts

Concistency amongst the predictions so far. Another card that I don't think is too hard to predict. I'm more concerned with advancing the storylines towards The Supreme Challenge 28 right now. I'll hopefully have this episode of Supreme TV up within the next day or two.

I'm Peter Michaels. With me tonight is Jerry Eisen. And special guest Rich Money! Rich Money: Extra emphasis on the special, Peter. Jerry Eisen: I like Money! Rich Money: Don't we all, Jerry...
Richard Eisen, Emma Chase + Eric Eisen Meeting It is another meeting of the Supreme minds, but this time only Richard Eisen, Eric Eisen, and Emma Chase are present. Emma Chase: The cameras...? Richard Eisen: Are necessary. And staying. Eric Eisen: So why are we here this time? Have you decided? Richard Eisen: No, I haven't decided. Eric Eisen: Then why... Richard Eisen: You're here because I asked you to be. Now shut up and listen for once. Eric Eisen: Fine. Richard Eisen: You're here because we have a new possibility for the Double Jeopardy. Another name I've come to consider. Emma Chase: What's there to consider? It has to be one of my boys. It only makes sense. Eric Eisen: Um, hello? "The Chosen One" is sitting right over here. Who is more reliable to hold the belt than an Eisen? Richard Eisen: We've already talked about that and I'm not interesting in discussing it further. What I want is your opinion on the new name in the mix... Steve Frehley. Emma Chase: What? Eric Eisen: What? Richard Eisen: Am I not speaking English here? Emma Chase: Um... How could you consider someone who is an ally of Bruce? Richard Eisen: Was an ally of Bruce. Not anymore. Eric Eisen: I thought you wanted someone you could count on. Someone you could control. Richard Eisen: Frehley is concerned with loyalty and respect. With his legacy. Play to those and I think he'll be pliable. If not, there's always financial enticements. I believe I can control Frehley. Eric Eisen: Isn't that what you thought about DeBones? Look how that worked out? Richard Eisen: DeBones isn't our problem anymore. He's Vibert's problem. But I don't think the same thing will happen here. Emma Chase: But it's a risk, Richard. Richard Eisen: I didn't get to the top of the wrestling world by being afraid to take a risk, Emma. Emma Chase: But is it a good risk? Richard Eisen: That's the question, isn't it. Well, I know neither of you are a fan of the idea. I'll have to give it more thought. Emma Chase: Honestly, I think Golden is a better choice than Frehley. Golden's a big baby, but if you control his ego, you can control him. Richard Eisen: You do know how to maniuplate, don't you. Emma Chase: A girl has to do what a girl has to do... Eric Eisen: So are you going to decide this week? Next week? Richard Eisen: I'll decide when I decide, Eric. Now you can leave me be... Meeting: A
Rich Money: Frehley? Frehely?!? That's dumbest idea I've heard. Which he promptly fails. But the youngster puts up a great fight against the bigger man, showing his athleticism and skills. James looks pretty solid as well, as he shows off his power. Bumfhole gets some serious pops from the crowd, skinning the cat twice and pulling off an incredible move running along the top rope from one turnbuckle to the other before diving onto James on the outside of the ring. The match is a strong start to the night. The crowd doesn't seem to appreciate the outcome, as a nasty boot to the back of Bumfohles head allows James to get the pin. The ref misses the illegal kick as Emma Chase provides the timely distraction. Brandon James Wins at 11:31 via Pinfall Grade: B-
Rich Money: What a great win! Love watching Big Money wrestle! Peter Michaels: Great win? He cheated! Rich Money: That's what made it great, Peter. Once again, Thompson and Deeley are seated uncomfortably close to each other behind a desk. The duo looks much more nervous than Emma, who is cool and calm. Emma Chase: So you boys going to explain to me why I'm here? Joss Thompson: Um, well... uh... Sean Deeley: You're a manager. Emma Chase: Yes. I am. Thank you for pointing that out. Sean Deeley: We need one. A manager. Chase lets out a hearty laugh. Emma Chase: And what makes you think I would want to manage you two? Sean Deeley: We're talented. Joss Thompson: A good looking. Us, I mean. We're good looking. Emma Chase: Talented and good looking. And that's supposed to make you unique? This is Supreme, boys. You just described half the roster. Joss Thompson: Half the roster isn't as talented as we are. Sean Deeley: And the other half isn't as good looking. Emma Chase: At least you two don't lack in confidence. But seriously, I'm not looking to take anyone else on at this point. I have my hands full managing Brandon. Joss Thompson: And the other two...? Emma Chase: Oh yeah, and the other two. Joss Thompson: So... you won't consider it? Emma Chase: No, not right now, boys. Maybe in time. Things change. But not right now. Joss Thompson: Please? Sean Deeley: We need the best. Emma Chase: I'm not doubting that I could help you two. More than any other manager. So I'm sorry, but its not going to work. Emma stands up to leave. Both Thompson and Deeley jump to their feet as well. Joss Thompson: Really? Sean Deeley: There's nothing we can do to change your mind? Joss Thompson: ...Please? Emma Chase: Sorry, but this is non-negotiable. Joss Thompson: ...but... Chase walks out of the meeting as Badd Kompany duo watch her fine backside leave the room. They look at each other with comically sad faces. Grade: B
Rich Money: Those two? Part of Big Money Incorporated? That's laughable. Peter Michaels: I don't think that's what they were asking. And you've said before they have talent. Rich Money: I know what I said, Michaels. Having talent doesn't make you ready to join the best in the business. Newton uses some underhanded tactics to gain control of the match, and as Montero battles back, Ace uses an illegal choke hold to put his small opponent to the mat, then unveils his new Aces High finisher, a nasty Go to Sleep knee. Newton gets the pin. Newton leaves, and Montero is joined by Antonio Marquez. The duo grab microphones. Desite both having previously spoken without any notable accent, both now have a Latino accent. Antonio Marquez: We came out here to talk to the big man, Mr. Eisen. But he ain't out here. Gino Montero: We know you in the back, ese, and you best be listening. Antonio Marquez: Because back in beautiful Mexico, we're the biggest stars there is. Ain't nobody bigger. Gino Montero: We came up here with promises that we'd be even bigger. But ain't stars, homes. Antonio Marquez: We been treated like dirt up here, and we're tired of it. Gino Montero: Seems like Meester Eisen thought he was hiring a couple more gardeners. But we ain't here to mow your lawn... we're here to take your title belts! Antonio Marquez: That's right. And you better start to pay us a little more respect, mister owner man. Because you won't like what is going to happen if you don't. Gino Montero: We might just have ourselves a little revolution in your back yard, homes. Antonio Marquez: You been warned. The duo drop the microphones and roll out of the ring. The crowd shows them some notable love, seeming to appreciate their new-found Latino-ness. The former amateur champions works a series of holds and works to on Robbie's left leg. The fans don't seem to appreciate the display of awesome technique, but they do love it when Robbie powers out of a couple of pins attempts and then begins to power back. Even wit his left leg weakened, he overpowers Deeley with several power moves. The shooter seems unsure of what to do next, but he finds himself pounded to the mat by a powerful lariat, then on his back again after Robbie lands his Murder on the Dancefloor. The pin is easy and the fans enjoy that. The youngster is a bit overwhelmed by the athleticism and quickness of Reed. A desperate forearm by Campbell almost drops Reed and gives Campbell the advantage. For a moment, it looks he might get the upset. Reed recovers, battles back, and gets the Dread Lock for the win Art Reed Wins at 6:43 via Submission. They fall short, after managing to isolate Giedroyc for a bit. The duo show a willingness to cheat, doing so whenever the ref isn't looking. That isn't enough to down the tag teams, however. After Valiant cleans house, he lifts Chord up for a power bomb and Giedroyc goes up to the top rope and comes down for the assisted power bomb, the duo's Desolation Drop finisher. Relaxed and well-dressed, the trio look the part of well-heeled modern gentlemen. Until they start talking, that is. Rich Money: There's something we need to talk about. We need to talk about The Supreme Challenge. About how ridiculous it is that Richard Eisen needs to "think about" who is going to take that belt from Jack Bruce. Remo: So ridiculous. Rich Money: I know, Remo! There's nothing to think about. The choice is easy. Rich Money. Someone you can bank on! And if not me, then at least one of you two. Remo: I don't get it, Rich. Brandon James: Me neither. Rich Money: And our special guest speaks! Remo: Emphasis on the special. Rich Money: Now keep in mind you're here because Emma asked us to let you on Moments with Money. But keep your thoughts to yourself, Brandon. Remo: What thoughts. Rich Money: Too true, Remo. Now, about Vibert introducing that Supreme belt... I don't know what that is about. But to exclude Big Money Incorporated doesn't make any sense at all. Remo: Don't see what's so supreme about it, anyway. Rich Money: What do you think about that belt, Brandon? Brandon James: Gonna win it. Rich Money: Sure you are, buddy. Remo: And what are your thoughts on the World title, then? Brandon James: Eric's gonna win it. Rich Money: Alright then. Thanks for your input, Brandon. But seriously, these belts deserve to be held by the best that the Supreme Wrestling Federation has to offer... and that's us. Remo: Isn't that what a championship belt is all about? Rich Money: Of course, Remo. It's about being the best. The most gifted. The most intense. The most intelligent. The best looking. The most hardcore. And that's me. Hard Cash. Rich Money. Remo: And us. Rich Money: And you. And even him. Brandon James: Don't you two have to wrestle soon? Remo: Ah, d*mn... They work each other over effectively but neither man can hold the advantage for long. DuBois begins to get the better of things, and manages to lock in his Model Solution submission. Morrisette gets to the rope to break it, though and battle back. DuBois manages to get the submission on again, only to have it broken a second time. The young champion begins to show his frustration. He takes the match to the outside, throwing Morrisette into the ring post and then getting him back in for a pin. The former Lobster Warrior kicks out and DuBois seems to panic. The match moves back outside the ring, and while the ref counts, DuBois grabs his championship belt and nails the challenger with it. Referee Jay Fair has no choice but to call the match in Morrisette's favor. The fans get fully behind the duo of Guide and Scout, but their tag excellence is a fairly even match with the overall skill of their opponents. The crowd loses it when, mid-match, Money goes toe-to-toe and punch-for-punch with Guide. The two batter away at each other, hammering each other with vicious power moves. Money actually gets the better of it and The Almighty Dollar carry that momentum to an eventual win. Its actually Remo who earns the win, as he overpowers Scout then hits a vicious Remo Buster. Money keeps Guide from making the save. Remo Wins at 13:54 via Pinfall Grade: B+
Jerry Eisen: He's Hard Cash! He's Rich Money! He spends several moments playing to the loving crowd before he allows Dani Nevada to start the interview. Dani Nevada: Jack, it seems like everyone in the promotion is lining up to ask for a chance to take your title at The Supreme Challenge. How do you feel about that? Jack Bruce: Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day and they said you were gonna put me on a shelf. But let me tell you, I got some news for you and you'll soon find out it's true... The Long Island Angel isn't so easy to knock out of the sky.... when it's Show Time! The crowd roars it back at him. Dani Nevada: We've seen Richard Eisen arranging what he calls your ultimate challenge. You will have to face Vengeance. If you win that match, you will have to face another challenger. You don't feel like that could be too much? Jack Bruce: It doesn't matter who they choose... I'm gonna fight 'em off. A seven nation army couldn't hold me back. They're gonna rip it off, taking their time right behind my back. Because Jack Bruce is the world champion and that isn't going to change. Dani Nevada: A seven nation army? What? Uh... Okay, well a lot of fans feel that SWF owner Richard Eisen is simply conspiring to try to get the championship belt away from you. Do you feel that's true? Jack Bruce: Show Time doesn't worry about things like that. All the generals gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses. Evil minds that plot destruction and sorcerers of death's construction. In the fields the bodies burning as the war machine keeps turning... Death and hatred to the Long Island Angel but it don't matter when its Show Time! Dani Nevada seems equally confused and amused by Bruce's partially-decipherable responses. She starts to ask the next question, but stops when she notices something. The Fry Report Preview
Every week on The Fry Report podcast will provide the latest information on everything Supreme. News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Wednesday, Week 1, July 2008 "The countdown to The Supreme Challenge 28 is underway. Barely a week away now and things continue to fall into place. More matches have been announced." "The most notable announcement came on the SWF.com website last night after Supreme TV went off the air. It was announced that Rich Money will face Randy Bumfhole. That won't make "Hard Cash" happy, as he has been quoted recently as saying that he doesn't feel that the Bufmholes and the rest of Generation Supreme have proven anything yet. This will certainly be a big opportunity for Randy. But Rich Money has proven that he's... well, money!" "Another match will be a Threefold Threat™ match for the SWF North American championship. Marc DuBois will defend his belt against Zimmy Bumfhole and an opponent yet to be determined. The SWF World Heavyweight titles will also be put on the line, but the opponents for Valiant & Giedroyc have not been determined just yet. If I had to guess, I'd probably pick Sin Inc as their likely opponents." "A good show planned this week for SWF Legends. Phil Vibert never fails to deliver, my friends. The main event is Eric Tyler against Bloodstone in what should be a great technical battle. The co-main event will see Chris Caufield face Rocky Golden." "Speaking of Golden, the "Golden Boy" has talked a lot since he joined the Supreme Wrestling Federation. He's proven little, however. The man talks a great game, but he yet to win a big match. He may get that chance at The Supreme Challenge. The latest rumor I've heard suggests that Golden will get his wish granted as he will face The Dark Destroyer, Steve Frehley. That won't make Frehley happy, as the former world champion feels that Golden has yet to be proven worthy to face him. This one could be interesting to watch as it develops." "Last night on Supreme TV, Richard Eisen revealed that another Supreme Legend being considered to face Jack Bruce in the Supreme Double Jeopardy™ match is Steve Frehley. Could Rocky Golden get consideration as well? Richard Eisen has a big decision to make - there are plenty of options and few look good for Jack Bruce." "As if you needed another reason to watch SWF Legends this week, you'll get to see some new faces. On the schedule is a new tag team, Pure Energy. The cruiserweight duo of "Thriller" Lee Rivera and Stylin' Shane Nelson are a very experienced duo and have some unbelievable teamwork. These two have perfected their craft in Canada and will look to make an immediate impact in the Sky Club Tag Division. They'll have to work for it, though, as they face The Samoan Wildboyz in their debut." "Pure Energy may not be the only debutantes on SWF Legends this week. I have yet to get confirmation, but I've heard there could be another debut. All I have found out so far is that its someone from "abroad". Or it could "a broad", but that sure doesn't seem politically correct! Either way, there's only only one way to find out..." "Will we find out tonight who will face Christian Faith for the brand spanking new SWF Supreme Championship? I've heard some rumors that Vibert may have made his decision, but is he ready to announce it yet? You'll have to watch to find out!" "Tonight, on CBA, don't miss SWF Legends!"
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.
An extra special feature for the Fry Report... A preview of the matches lined up for SWF Legends this week!
By the way, I think I know who the Nuke is :D
You get one guess and its probably gonna be right. Not trying to hide that one to any real extent, so its probably pretty obvious. Hopefully timing his debut a bit better than I did for Badd Kompany, so I don't have to hype the debut then let him float for a bit like they did. No one had any comments - good or bad - on the last show? Figured some of the build-up to The Supreme Challenge would have people guessing what's gonna happen...

I literally already know who the Nuke is, so I won't give it away for everyone else. Eric Eisen vs Remmy Skye Eisen's alot higher up the card than Skye Pure Energy vs The Samoan Wildboyz The repackaged Youth Energy need a little more build, before they can earn wins over an established team like the Wildboyz ??? vs Bart Biggz Triple ? could be someone really good, a big new signing, but I think the safer bet would be Biggz. Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Diaz is getting a gradual push, Laramee is spinning his wheels since Big Smack got fired. Enygma vs Jacob Jett I actually don't think Enygma is that bad. Is he World Champion material ? No of course not but he is a serviceable mid-carder and should in my opinion go over the inexperienced Jett. Guide vs Troy Tornado Tornado's yet to really make his mark and could do with noticeable win over some established talent (though to be honest Guide established his talent more in other promotions) Rocky Golden vs Chris Caufield Golden's getting a bigger push than Caulfield right now Eric Tyler vs Bloodstone Soon to retire Tyler puts over Bloodstone

I definately know who the Nuke is, but I wouldn't like to ruin it for those who don't. Eric Eisen vs Remmy Skye I don't think there's any doubt about this one. Pure Energy vs The Samoan Wildboyz I can see the rest of the Samoan Family getting invloved here ??? vs Bart Biggz With his new fire I can see Biggz getting another win Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Diaz still needs to legitimise himself as a monster Enygma vs Jacob Jett I'd like to see Jett pick up the win but I think the experience of Enygma will be too much Guide vs Troy Tornado Tornado is a better singles competitor Rocky Golden vs Chris Caufield I expect some kind of interference on Golden's behalf Eric Tyler vs Bloodstone Bloodstone will have too much for Tyler EDIT: Nice to see some variation in predictions this time round. Your booking must be becoming less predictable Bigpapa!

Hey, I'm new around these parts and this diary has really sucked me in, haha. I'm still working my way through the whole thing, and I love the whole write up on the front page with all the details. I'll go ahead and throw my picks out there. Eric Eisen vs Remmy Skye Easy Pure Energy vs The Samoan Wildboyz I like the Wildboyz a lot, they should probably pull this off. ??? vs Bart Biggz I feel like picking the field with the question marks, the field is better than Biggz. Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Diaz was brought in for a reason, and it probably wasn't to lose to Laramee. Enygma vs Jacob Jett One of my favorites, and much more established. Guide vs Troy Tornado No reason to have Tornado lose to a tag team wrestler. Rocky Golden vs Chris Caufield Seems higher in the pecking order. Eric Tyler vs Bloodstone Good victory to elevate Bloodstone. And just for the record, I have no idea who Nuke is lol so you have somebody who is in the dark.

Glad to have another reader, randomfreeze. And just for the record, ??? is not a big new signing. It is a new signing, someone familiar to many who should do well in the Sky Club Division. But its not a huge get. If I managed to snag Sammy Bach, I would be doing a lot more hype. I'm hyping "The Nuke" as I think its a character thats going to be fun.
Great diary. I think I might know who 'The Nukes' is ;)
Awesome to have yet another reader! And "The Nuke" will probably not be that hard for a lot of people to figure out. I'm not hiding this one, to any real degree. I do have a new signing coming soon that I am going to hype. Hard. And that one might be a bit tougher to guess. Hope to have the SWF Legends show up sometime this weekend. If for no other reason than I think my next Avatar segment is going to be a fun one, and I wanted to put it after the show.
Okay, so this show is going to take longer to get up than I expected. Got partway done the show and lost it. Forgot for once to backup what I was doing. My own dumb mistake.
I hate when that happens, Murphy's Law is a b*tch :) Hope you can finish it soon, I've been catching up in the last few days and I'm enjoying it a lot, and like everyboody, I really like the Thought of the Day bits, adds some very nice depth to the story. Here are my predictions: Eric Eisen vs Remmy Skye Pure Energy vs The Samoan Wildboyz ??? vs Bart Biggz Ray Diaz vs Kurt Laramee Enygma vs Jacob Jett Guide vs Troy Tornado Rocky Golden vs Chris Caufield Eric Tyler vs Bloodstone Keep up the good work, looking forward for the next show and the Supreme Challenge ;)

They make their way down to the ring. Golden grabs a microphone, but before he talks, he makes a belt gesture at this waist. Rocky Golden: I had to come out here and address all you Golden-ites tonight for a few reasons. To start with, there is something that I - that we - simply do not understand. Over the past week, both Kristen and I talked with Phil Vibert. And it simply doesn't make any sense. Kristen Pearce: Mr. Vibert has yet to decide on who will face Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship at The Supreme Challenge 28. And that just doesn't make any sense... The crowd pops at the mere mention of Faith and The Supreme Challenge. Rocky Golden: Its quite obvious that the only person worthy of competing for that belt is me, The Golden Boy. Kristen Pearce: Very obvious. Rocky Golden: Last week, Mr. Vibert talked about how the Supreme Championship would be meaningful because it would be held by the finest wrestlers that the Supreme Wrestling Federation has. Well, if Mr. Vibert also wants someone who is charismatic, attractive, and born to be the face of a promotion... well... that's me. But it looks like Mr. Vibert might be missing his own Golden Opportunity. Golden can certainly work a crowd, and he has the Minnesota fans seething. He gives them a moment before he continues. Rocky Golden: I'm glad you all feel the same way as we do. Kristen Pearce: A Golden Opportunity, Mr. Vibert. Recognize it. Rocky Golden: I also wanted to take a moment to make you all a promise. A Golden Promise, if you will. Starting tonight, the Golden Faction will make their presence felt on SWF Legends. No more ignoring us after tonight. The crowd throws up a wall of dislike once again. Rocky Golden: And one other thing... Golden turns and nails Troy Tornado with a hard open-hand slap. Tornado looks stunned but doesn't react. Rocky Golden: I will not tolerate failure. Last week, I told you to take down Faith. You failed. Consider this your warning. With that, Golden drops the microphone and rolls out of the ring. He's followed by Pearce, Texas Pete, and Bloodstone. Tornado stays in the ring for a moment, still looking surprised. He rubs his cheek and then follows the rest of the Faction up the ramp. The cruiserweight Skye displays impressive quickness and bounces everywhere - off the ropes, turnbuckles, and even his opponent. Eisen moves slowly and smarter. The crowd seems to enjoy it as well, with the two men trading holds and throwing in the occassional brawling power moves to keep things fresh. Once the duo have worn each other down a bit, they trade submission attemps. Tyler gets Bloodstone into both his Arm Breaker and Tradition Lift submission holds, only to have "The Submission Demon" break them. I gotta admit, I'm a bit surprised that everyone picked Bloodstone to go over Tyler. I mean, it makes sense. But its one of the few instinces I've had of late of clearly putting someone over. Tyler was solidly B popularity across American and marginallly in the main event. Bloodstone was B- in a few regions, but mostly still C+ through the rest of America. Solidly in the midcard. Not really just jobbing Tyler, though, as I tend to protect overness. Its part of the storyline, which should become a bit more clear in the next few weeks. I also did realize that Bloodstone wasn't going to gain rapid overness with mid-level wins and jobbing to the stars. Its worked for Rocky Golden, who is pretty much A overness across the US now. That's what A* Star Quality gets you in the SWF, though. k I think I'm going to try to post the next Avatar segment yet tonight as well. Its almost ready to go. Was going to leave it for a day or two, but I had a bit of fun with this one. Not quite as much fun as the Eisen Zone, but still fun.

Good show. Too bad about it originally getting deleted, but you seem to have gone back over it pretty quick. I enjoyed seeing Ota come into SWF. The reason I picked Bloodstone is he seems like somebody you want to rise up the card. Putting him with Golden and Tornado and such. This really gave him a solid win. Even though it was the B show, it was the main event and I thought it gave him the chance to get a showcase win. Everything you seem to do drives the storyline ahead, and I just didn't see how that would of happened with Tyler winning, unless it was a screwy finish setting up a rematch, but as I said, this makes Bloodstone look good. Anyways, just thought I'd post my reasons since you were surprised. Can't wait to read Avatar segment.

I was able to redo them fairly easily. Its the graphical set up that takes awhile. Its just a lot of copying and pasting, really, but thats time-consuming. SWF Legends is actually an A show, same as Supreme TV. SWF Generation Supreme is the B show, which I never do write-ups for but I will try to mention the results from a bit more. I know that there's lot here to keep track of, with the roster split and all. Might make it tough to read. But I don't think I've seen someone do an actual roster split on a CornellVerse diary on 2008, so I think I might be unique here! I never really considered picking up Ota, until I saw the awesome new alts someone did. Then I realized he and Narato had pretty decent tag experience. I tought Ota was with TCW but he was available when I looked, so I signed them both (uh-oh, giving away that I signed Narato as well...). Another cruiserweight tag team. I am absolutely determined to build and/or buy the best tag overall tag division that this board has ever seen! And yes, Bloodstone is someone I have plans for. Should have the Random Thoughts of the Day segment up fairly shortly.

Random thought of the day... retribution can be a bitch. That's all... Christian Faith was sitting across my desk from me, staring hard. The four-time champion had that determined look that Supreme fans had seen so many times over the past two decades. He told me, "I'm really not a fan of this." "I know," I assured the veteran. "But this has been discussed. A lot. Everyone feels this is the best move." Faith took a deep breath, accepting what he had no choice but to accept. He shrugged, saying, "Well, you know me, kid. I'll do whatever needs to be done. I have faith and all that." "And we love you for it," I laughed. "It is going to work for the best, though. Just wait and see." Phil Vibert was standing by the door, casually leaning against the wall. He added his two cents, saying, "This is going to work out. Just wait." Faith shrugged silently. He wasn't going to argue his point further. It was the company-first attitude that had made the man as popular within the promotion as with the fans. Vibert threw me a quick swerve, changing the subject. "So what do you know about those belts?" That took me a bit by surprise. "Uh, they're coming," I answered. "I talked to my guy Reaper and he'll come through. He always does." "Hope they're as nice the Supreme belt," Faith nodded. "That thing is gorgeous." I said, "I know. But Eisen made me promise no more platinum on these ones. Apparently its too expensive." "You don't heard Richard say that too often," Faith laughed. Then he asked, "So how did Saturday night go?" "Uhhh..." is all I could manage. I tried to formulate a diplomatic response, but nothing worked. I knew Faith and Eisen are good friends, so I hardly want to insult my boss who is also his close friend. But how they hell am I going to phrase it? I didn't actually have to. Faith laughed, saying, "I know what you mean. It's... eye-opening." "Yeah," I agreed cautiously. I kept forgotten Vibert was in the room, which made me more cautious with my words. "So what did you think of Mrs. Eisen?" "Trophy wife," I blurted immediately, and regretted it even more quickly. How much should I say in front of Vibert? Faith just laughed as he agreed, "The very definition of. What about the boys? Were their girlfriends there?" I nodded and my face must have told the story, as he just laughed again. "I met Eric's girlfriend a few weeks ago," Vibert offered. "She was... not so classy." "The boys can definitely pick 'em," Faith smiled. "You shoulda met Jerry's wife. Beautiful woman. Smart, witty, everything. Pretty much tore him to pieces in the divorce and I don't think he's dated anything but trailer park trash since." "I wasn't aware that Rhode Island had trailer park trash," I responded with a smirk. "There's trailer park trash everywhere," was the dead-pan response from Vibert. Faith got serious for a moment, telling me, "Look, kid, you need to realize what that night meant. Its means you're part of the family now." "Uh, really?" "You think everyone who works for Supreme gets let inside the family like that?" Faith asked. I really hadn't thought about it so I just shrugged. He told me, "No, very few do. Even guys who have been with SWF forever like Roberts and Bowen haven't got that invite. That invite is a rare thing. It means the Eisen likes you, accepts you, and considers you a key member of the family. So remember that." "Wow," was all I could manage. I didn't know quite what to say. "And remember that family is family," Faith continued. "You don't talk about family. You keep things internal. So I don't want to hear anything getting out. Be careful who you say things to. Phil knows that, too." "D*mned right I do," was the response from Vibert. "Back in the day with DaVE, we had to be d*mned careful so that stuff that happened backstage wouldn't get into the media or on the stupid wrestling forums. There were enough shenanigans that I could write volumes." "I know to keep my mouth shut," I told the. I had no intentional of telling anyone what had gone down at the Eisen Zone, even Robbie. I hadn't thought about the stories getting out of the backstage and into the media, but I guess that was a legit concern. "I know, kid," Faith reassured. me. "Just what to make sure you know what being part of the Supreme family now really means." I was about to say something further, but my phone buzzed. Toni knew we were having this meeting, so she wouldn't be forwarding me a call... unless it was one particular person... Given that Eisen knew we were having this meeting, he wouldn't be interrupting unless it was something important. I gave a look to Faith and Vibert, and signaled them that I would be one second. They both nodded as I answered, likely thinking the same thing I was. Toni didn't put me through to Eisen, but simply told me that our presence - me, Vibert, and Faith - was being request in the Supremo's office. Immediately. After hanging up, I relayed this to the duo in my office. We shared an "oh sh*t" look, then made for Eisen's office. Jerry and Eric were both already in the office when we got there. They both looked somewhere between bemused and concerned. Richard was irate. He was shouting, but it wasn't immediately clear who exactly he was shout about or at. "That motherf*cker is done! Done! I will do everything my power to destroy his *ss!" It was odd to hear Eisen talk like that. It just wasn't his style. Seeing him legitimately angry was a bit strange, too. My first thought was that it had to be Total Championship Wrestling. Cornell had managed to something to raise the ire of Richard Eisen and that was not a good thing. If that was the case, this could get ugly. Vibert and Faith looked as confused as I felt. Before any of us could question what exactly had happened, Eisen continued with his rant. "Seriously, I will use every connection I have. I will make sure his little sh*thole promotion dies. I will make sure that no network will ever want to put his expired crap on the air. No venue will book his boring shows!" Okay, so were definitely weren't talking about TCW here... "Seriously, get me his kid's contact. I will rip that sh*t up right now. No second thoughts." That clarified things. There was only one man we could be talking about... Rip Chord. I knew that Eisen and Chord were not on the best of terms. That relationship had been permanently soured when Chord chose to work for the fledgling Hollyweird Grappling Company more than a decade ago. If I'm not mistaken on my history, Chord actually was offered a position with Supreme after he retired from HGC. The intended role was as a heel authority figure, I believe. Chord decline and chose to start up Mid Atlantic Wrestling instead, further straining whatever was left of the relatonsihp with Eisen. What could Chord have possibly done to have Richard revved up ike this? It couldn't be something with MAW... While the little promotion does have its fans and supporters, its minuscule compared to SWF on the greater scheme of things. Its barely bigger than Rhode Island Pro Wrestling. Another place for less-than-average workers to have a career, green rookies to get some experienced, and the dilapidated old wrestlers to see out their final days. I couldn't think of any scenario where MAW or Chord himself could do something that would actually affect the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Maybe something to do with Jay? "So what did Chord do?" I asked, right as Eisen was about to launch into another tirade. I didn't get an answer. I was handed a sheet of paper by Jerry. There was silence in the room as I quickly looked it over. Finished, I handed it to Christian My response was a single word. "So?" The sheet was a print-out from a website called Kayfabe Productions. I was vaguely familiar with the company, knowing just that they specialize in wrestling shoot interviews and they've done a couple bigger names. The sheet was basically an ad for the latest release - a massive 4-disc boxed set for Rip Chord. Over 9 hours of "virtually unedited" shoot interview footage on three DVDs! Disc four apparently contained "rarely seen" matches of Chord's. My guess was that the actual wrestling footage was from his early days in the American Pro Wrestling Federation and his mid-90s run in Golden Combat Grappling, as I know the SWF would not allow use of any Supreme footage and I doubt Cornell was working with this company either. The page also promised "startling and detailed revelations regarding Chord's humble beginnings in the business, star runs with SWF and TCW, and long battle with personal demons". Well, they sold me. I wanted to shell out $50 to buy the set. These shoot interview DVDs have become very popular in recent years. No promotion will allow contracted workers to do them, as they obviously break kayfabe to a serious degree. There are many in the business who would argue that kayfabe really doesn't exist anymore so it shouldn't matter, but most promotions still maintain it to an extent. To a serious degree in Japan, as most puroseau promotions still forbid workers involved in a current or recent feud to be seen in public together. Supreme is like most American promotions in that things have been seriously relaxed but the ideal of kayfabe has not been abandoned completely. The fans seemed to love to hear the real dirt, and there were a few of those shoot interview production companies that did regular releases. The majority of those releases were not big names, but Rip Chord doing a shoot interview was just below Sam Strong or Richard Eisen himself doing one. My response apparently wasn't what Eisen expected, as he glared at me for a second, then demanded, "What do you mean so?" Time to be judicious with my wording. I said, "Well, is there really that much that Chord can give them about Supreme that would be damaging at this point?" "You'd be surprised, kid," was the response from Jerry. "What? Drugs? Steroids? Sex?" I shrugged. "Supreme has been through all of that already and survived." The SWF was no stranger to scandal. I recall there was a tell-all book released in the early 1990s by a disgruntled jobber from the 80s that had all kinds of lurid backstage stories, but the credibility of said ex-worker was weak enough that no one was too concerned. The year 1998 resulted in two incidents, and there was nothing the SWF could do to hide those. The first happened in about April, when young German wrestler Sebastian Krause wrapped a rental car around a tree. Krause was sadly killed, while his passenger was let paralyzed. It was hours after a show in Norfolk and Krause was well over the legal limit for alcohol. The passenger had been a young local indie wrestler who had been on the show as a jobber. He sued the SWF for millions and the lawsuit was settled out of court. The incident brought a great deal of public attention to the hard partying lifestyles many wrestlers lead. Not particularly good attention, despite the old adage. Only a few months later, it got worse for the Eisen clan and the Supreme Empire. Dennis Butler was found dead in his hotel room in Boston. The loss of the man who called himself Mr. Supreme rocked the promotion and the wrestling world. It hurt the SWF in basic terms, as Butler was a major talent who was just 28 years old, a fringe main eventer who looked set for sure stardom. The repercussions were far worse, however. Butler died of a massive overdose of cocaine, prescription painkillers, and anabolic steroids. He had a pharmacy worth of chemicals in his possession - from legally prescribed painkillers and sleeping pills to several different types of steroids and even roofies. Though Esien and the SWF was cleared of any implication in the death, as the promotion clearly had no knowledge of Butler's problems, it did shine an uncomfortable spotlight on the The Fed. Professional football was under intense scrutiny for illegal drug use at the time, particularly anabolic steroids, and some of that fell over onto wrestling. As the SWF was the only major promotion in America at the time, it got the negative attention. Barely a year had passed since the Nemesis-Cornell incident put Eisen in a tough spot with his sponsors, and the Butler death only made things worse. Butler got a special spot in the Hall of Champions at Supreme One, despite never winning a championship. Eisen and the Supreme Wrestling Federation rode out the negative press with the conservative product and storylines that began in the aftermatch of Nemesis-Cornell, and that carried them into the new millennium. The Eisen clan seemed to consider my statement for a moment. Jerry said, "Look, kid, its not 1998 anymore. Just because Cornell has fallen back a bit doesn't mean we're invulnerable." "I know that," I replied. Which was ironic, given that I was the only one seemed to be looking for a lesson to learn from what's happened to TCW of late. "But its also a different world now than ten years ago. With the steroid scandal in baseball and the massive drug problems in hockey, is anyone really going to get agitated over stuff that happened ten or fifteen years ago in Supreme? And if its sex rather than drugs, we might win a few new fans if its juicy enough." This brought a few laughs. Vibert added, "It can't be worse than Stong on News Line." This brought outright laughter. Sam Strong had done his reputation some damage in late 2006. Not long after he bought United States Pro Wrestling, Ace Television had brought the legend onto their News Line news magazine show. They thought they were going to get true insight in the wrestling business, while Strong thought he was going to get free publicity for his new promotion. What resulted was kind of painful to watch. The interviewer, Jack Bryson, talked rings around the former world champion. Strong was clearly out of his element and got very uncomfortable. After a series of probing questions, Strong finally admitted that the matches in professional wrestling were scripted. He wouldn't go further than that. While that might seem like an obvious admission to most who hold a realistic view of the business, it was a major violation of kayfabe for those who still hold it dear. It seriously upset a few men in the business. If the rumors are true, then Rip Chord, Tadiyuki Kikkawa, and Haruki Kudo have all refused to speak to Strong ever since. "Is there anything truly and completely horrible that Chord can reveal on there? You didn't have him sacrificing goats after shows or killing off vagrants to steal their blood?" I asked. Richard Eisen laughed. He was calm now. Barely five minutes ago, he was ready to explode and now it was like it had never happened. "No, nothing that bad," he admitted. "Okay, so we don't worry about it," I shrugged. "If there's anything bad enough on there about Supreme, we deal with at the time. Anything from denial to lawsuit. But let's see what it has first." "I think we all just feel a bit betrayed by Chord," Jerry told me, and his father nodded at this. "Maybe justified," I answered. "Maybe not. If doesn't say anything negative about Supreme or the Eisen family, there's no reason to." No response, but some nods. "About Jay," Eric started to say, but Vibert interrupted him. "Don't do anything with Jay, at least not right now," he said. The Eisen clan gave him a look. "Anything we do with Jay beyond what's been planned looks like retribution." "Everyone already thinks I'm an *sshole," Richard smirked. "They think you're a ruthless businessman," Vibert responded. "And burying a kid with potential like Jay is not a good business move." "Besides, I think he may manage to bury himself before too long," I added. That got me one or two looks from around the room but I didn't care to elabroate. "Fine, we leave the kid alone. But I do have one thing and I will not change my mind on this..." the Supreme told us. We held out breath while he held the room for a moment before saying, "Retro is not wearing any more Rip Chord shirts." I almost burst out laughing. In recent weeks, Robbie had evolved his "disco love machine" look a bit so it more just old school retro. He had taken to wearing replica T-shirts of old promotions and old school wrestlers from the 1970s and early 1980s. Promotions like All-American Florida Wrestling, American Pro Wrestling Federation, California Pro Wrestling, and Championship Wrestling from Boston. Wrestlers like Dick the Devastator, Professor Nero, Ed "The Strangler" Henson, The Boston Bomber, Wild Man Sullivan, Micky Starr, Whipper Spencer Marks, Preston Holt, Crippler Ray Kingman, Gorgeous George DeColt, The Masked Machine, The Stomper, Sam Strong, and, of course, Rip Chord. The retro stuff was going over big with the fans, who were clamoring for the retro shirts. Partly my idea, I had helped Robbie find the shirts. Which had since lead to Supreme getting a lot of the rights to the stuff, so the Retro retro gear would soon be available. Be sure to check the Supreme Shop on SWF.com! Talk about a bit of irony there... "I'll break it to Robbie," I said solemnly. "I'm sure he'll take it hard." Eisen had to throw out one more thing, saying, "I want all to remember, if Chord tires to bury me or this promotion on that d*mned DVD, I will make him pay." Everyone nodded and started to file out of the room. Once we were in the hallway, Faith leaned over to me and Vibert, saying, "I think I'm glad I didn't mention in there that the same company contacted me once." Vibert laughed, adding, "They've contacted me about a dozen times in the past year. We probably both just coulda got fired." "And I've never been asked," I added sullenly. "Because no one knows who you are, Avatar," Vibert reminded me. Truth. And apparently they still don't know my name. Did I want to see what Eisen's retribution would be on Chord? Kind of. Seeing the most powerful man in the business do everything in his power to bury a has-been booze-hound would be fun. But it would also be bad business, and that was my first thought. Maybe I am part of the Supreme family now...? Friday, Week 1, July 2008 Avatar

The match list is obviously incomplete. Not much use starting to make predictions just yet. Though if anyone wants to make guesses at who Christian Faith will face or who will be in the second leg of the Double Jeopardy match, assuming Bruce survives Vengeance, feel free...
