jjohns44
I suspended Rob Van Dam for drug usage and while he was waiting out his suspension I got news saying he died in a drug related incident. Knowing RVD's history, that was way too close to reality. I like that deaths can appear in the game as it makes it more realistic and surprising, but just...wow. It strikes too many chords when it happens to someone you like who has a history of drug related problems :(
Ping von Erich
RVD doesn't have a drug "history".. the man smokes pot, find me an example of someone dying in a marijuana related incident and I'll eat my cat.
tizzyt
No one in history has ever died from a marijuana overdose, in order to overdose one would have to consume nearly 16 pounds of marijuana, if one was to make it through a pound, they would pass out, so yeah, there needs to be a differential in all of the drug users for the game, such as hard drugs (coke, heroin, etc), prescription drugs (oxys, somas, etc) and soft drugs (marijuana) for the using categories. lazorbeak
Sounds like some mod maker checked the wrong box. What'd RVD do, get high and then drive off a cliff?
NoNeck
And Sabu was at the bottom of the cliff, ironically pointing upward at the time, unknowingly charting RVD's progress. :D

Malioc
How do you guys get all the deaths? I played TEW 2008 for over 10 years so far. And despite Rip Chord, who died in one game during 2011, my workers live whole fulfilling lifes. Instead, I get some guys on bust or overdosis, who never had any history of hard drogs before... Skummy
A death can be "drug-related" without being an overdose, it depends how far you stretch the definition; and technically speaking it's not possible to overdose on heroin either - your body simply forgets to breath, it's not an overdose. You get high on crack and start shooting at people, yourself getting shot, technically that's a drug related death.

NoNeck
Drugwatch.org? Sweet jesus man, that's a bullsh*t sounding name for a site that wants you to believe it's on the up and up, isn't it? Maybe their logo could be a cartoon of Ronald Reagan, pointing at you; watching. Making sure no one is comfortably high unless Uncle Sam gets a piece of the action is the American way. Why not just call it drugsarebad.com and be done with it? And also, over a hundred marijuana related deaths? Did Ziggy Marley's tour bus crash? Only a bogus, bogus site with carefully manipulated facts could even begin to blame the weed for ANY deaths.
wrestlingfan1
I've yet to experience any deaths in my game just a massive amounts of retirements (in 3 months), default data if any were interested and 1 hall of immortals induction. I do remember seeing a news article on a marijuana related death. Only one, don't get me wrong i'm all for the legalization, mainly because not one person has been able to present a singlle sound argument as to why its illegal. The article said that a man consumed 7.5 lbs of marijuana in 2.5 hours when the cops came back with a warrant the man requested them get before he allowed them access to his home. The key word in the article was consumed, not smoked which is how one would use the substance in the first place. So maybe he choked on a seed or stem, who knows. I'll see if i can find a link to the article, if i can find it all i say is don't eat your cat, although some countries consider it a delicacy. Also, I used to have Raven dying all the time in my game.. not yet on the last two (one simmed to 2035ish, and the other played through to almost 2010) But, Chavo Classic did just die of a drug related death. Damn those little blue pills.

I want to know what percentage of those 187 out of all marijuana smokers is... my guess, probably some very, very, very tiny fraction of a percent. 2. Only 187 PURE Marijuana deaths? By contrast, I wonder how many alcohol related deaths in 1999. 3. The site is nothing more than propoganda, twisting the facts and only using the ones that'll help proove its point. 4. I don't smoke weed, but the stuff should be legal enough to buy in grocery stores.

CampCornetteNWA
I remedy the situation by just switching it back and filing it as a false report in my head if it is someone who dies that isn't really dead in my game. Personally, I don't like the option as I think it let's the game world play kind of God and it seems too random to me.
Sartagis
I'm not one to advocate drug use, but I do hate propaganda, especially politically motivated propaganda like that. It is IMPOSSIBLE to die from marijuana, there is simply not enough lethal chemicals in it to kill. Plain and simple. The worst ya can do is pull a whitey. And really laying on the bathroom floor hugging the porcelain throne isn't THAT bad of a time. :p :D :o

Sartagis
Too much pot (or like drug, hash, etc) or even alcohol, ya get nauseous, clammy, dizzy. Name comes from the fact that your capillaries (?) drain of blood and ya go pale, thus pulling a whitey. :D
