SuperOwens
http://www.cmt.com/shows/series/hulk-hogan-celebrity-wrestling/about.jhtml And tell me how appallingly bad it is. Love the fact Hogan got all his mates involved as well.
Prophet
So I watched the little preview trailer ... and I have to admit, it has this car wreck quality to it. Y'know, where you don't want to look, but you can't help it. And I gotta say ... Danny Bonaduce vs. Dustin Diamond ... instant classic! :p

Unfortunately, i think this is a US only show, otherwise i would set up some sort of drinking game that involved downing a shot whenever a hip toss is thrown. cappyboy
You know what. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this. My expectations of the matches and such are pretty low. My feeling is as long as the show doesn't take itself too seriously, it could be a decent enough way to kill an hour or so.

Seeing a clip where they're all sitting around, and that one blonde woman (whose name escapes me) mocks Bonaduce for his wife leaving him, and he comes back about how she's broke, and she starts crying ... for me, personally, it gives the show a train wreck quality. Like they didn't feel that people putting the time in to be a wrestler was enough, they needed to sprinkle in Daily Star tabloid junk. Vladamire Dracos
I dunno, Butterbean could become the next King Kong Bundy. :p Really though, several of those people have wrestling (Rodman, Butterbean, Diamond) or combat sports in their background, so while the wrestling should be as bad as having guys like Knobbs and Beefcake as trainers, it could be much much worse. Should be good for a laugh if nothing else.
SuperOwens
Hopefully it will be cringworthy tv. It will be interesting how they portray the worked aspect of wrestling. Are they going to try and put it out there as real? I can see loads of fake 'diary room' aggression between the participants.
cappyboy
Just finished watching and I don't know if it's something that will work over the long run. But if the show continues to be like it was in this week's pilot, it should be a pretty decent way to spend an hour. If they continue having the training session as the first half and the matches as the second half and just dispense with attempting storylines between the stars, I'll be happy. If you want to be cold about it, the matches were by far the worst I've ever seen. But that said, given the limited amount of material that was put before them, I didn't think anybody who actually got in the ring did all that badly. The people who let the their teams down in my mind were Todd Bridges and Nikki Zeiring as the managers. Neither one did a whole lot to try and bring a presence to their respective match. All in all though, I think I'll probably be back for more next week.
