foolinc
Well I tried this for a couple of weeks last season and never could fine a system I liked. Well, I am trying this again. This is a College Football Power Ranking that uses a couple of key statistics that have been weighted in various ways. To be exact I used five different formulas and then used the sum of these formulas to get the final score. While I don't want to give out all the details right away, I will say that win percentage and past SOS are components, which is why there are still some oddities. Here is the top 25 and the lite version of the spreadsheet for past week: 1. Oklahoma 2. Boise St. 3. Missouri 4. Alabama 5. Penn St. 6. Texas 7. TCU 8. Texas Tech 9. BYU 10. Utah 11. Tulsa 12. Kansas 13. Georgia 14. Kentucky 15. California 16. Oklahoma St. 17. Ball St. 18. Vanderbilt 19. South Fla. 20. Duke 21. Minnesota 22. Florida 23. Wisconsin 24. Ohio St. 25. Florida St. AP 25 teams not in poll: LSU (3), USC (9), Auburn (13), VaTech (20), Fresno St. (22), Oregon (23), UConn (24), Wake Forest (25) Teams in poll not in AP 25: TCU (7), Tulsa (11), Kentucky (14), Cal (15), Ball St (17), Duke (20), Minnesota (21), Florida State (25) http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pJ-63yn1BE-4Z4y17AOCTew I've added another column to show what conference each team is from. So here is the Conference Power Ranking with the top and bottom teams from each conference. 1. Big 12 (Oklahoma, Texas A&M) 2. Big 10 (Penn St., Michigan) 3. SEC (Alabama, Mississippi St.) 4. ACC (Duke, Virginia) 5. MWC (TCU, Wyoming) 6. Big East (South Fla., Syracuse) 7. PAC 10 (California, Washington St.) 8. IND (Navy, Army) 8. CUSA (Tulsa, SMU) 9. MAC (Ball St., Kent St.) 10. WAC (Boise St., Idaho) 11. Sun Belt (Arkansas St., North Texas)
