SolidDavidGold
I was just wondering about what happened to all the Cverse related things that were talked about during the build up to the release of TEW 2008. We got a small world update, but that wasn't really a whole lot. For example, unless you start a promotion there, australia is a one ring circus for the entire game. Where is the 150-300 new workers that were promised? Yeah, we got a small boost some time ago, but it was only around 100 guys if memory serves me correctly. Where are the updated articles on the Cverse section of the GDS site? How much longer until the awesome 1975 and 1997 Cverse mods are adopted as part of canon? I know I should be patient but I'm losing my mind waiting for these things as the Cverse is the only database I seem to be able to get attatched to. Good things take time, but please, please Mr. Ryland, sir, can we have an update on how these things are coming along?
Adam Ryland
We got a small world update, but that wasn't really a whole lot.
? I'm really not sure how to answer that! The database that came with TEW08 was hardly a "small world update"; an enormous amount of work went into taking the universe forward twelve months in time from the previous game.
For example, unless you start a promotion there, australia is a one ring circus for the entire game.
That is how the game area is designed to be played.
Where is the 150-300 new workers that were promised? Yeah, we got a small boost some time ago, but it was only around 100 guys if memory serves me correctly.
I said I had 150-300 renders to choose from, the ones that were added were the only ones that I felt were of a high enough quality to actually make it into the official canon. To go back to the first point again, I don't think you realise how much work goes into adding "only" 100 characters - that was well over a full working week spent entirely on doing them, it is a huge task.
Where are the updated articles on the Cverse section of the GDS site?
I have not had time to write them.
How much longer until the awesome 1975 and 1997 Cverse mods are adopted as part of canon?
Neither of those mods are mine, they will be added when and if the respective mod makers complete them and get in touch. As neither derek_b nor PeterHilton have been on the forums in a while, I cannot see either mod being completed anytime soon.
DarkAWhole12
Hey buddy, why don't you try creating a TEW game?
Nedew
Hey buddy, why don't you try creating a TEW game?
 As much as I don't agree with the OP, the post i've quoted has to be the worst argument quite possibly ever. Unless you've done something, you can't criticise anyone who has. What? Have you ever criticised a rich businessman, president, prime minister, elected government official, astronaut or TV personality? Oh no, but how could you, you haven't been to the moon whilst presenting a cookery special on Channel 4 whilst giving your presidential address! Ryland's got a lot on his plate, that's more than enough of an argument to defend him rather than the drivel about "BUT HE'S INFALLIBLE AS HE'S THE ONLY GAMES DEVELOPER HERE!" While it can be a fair point at times, there is a certain presumptive arrogance in DarkAWhole's response. The "you can't possibly know unless you've been there" thing is an often overused and abused argument. Granted, it is quite valid at times. But experience can be as much a shield for wrong headed thinking as the lack of it. Tunnel vision anyone? Anyway, "have you ever tried" drivel aside, the OP really needs to root around in the CVerse for a while and see what's really what. Maybe not even actually play but start a game with as many different companies as possible and pre-plot the possibilities he sees on each roster. That's the first thing I do whenever a new TEW game comes out. I explore what's changed, who's gone where and what possibilities exist in the various promotions. It's not until I feel comfortable with the backstory I even think about trying to book my first show
I Rule Me
of course, he could always sim for a year or two and see what takes place, who goes where, what workers debut etc..

Not to mention things like the death of DAVE and the European Split wouldn't happen. I'm sure Ryland has a lot more fun going... "You know, I think Puerto Rican Power should go ahead and open his own company." Just simming a year, that sounds lazy.
