Border-Line Wrestling: Evolution Or Revolution?

Dear blog, Nine months ago almost to the day I had managed to secure all the funding I needed to effectively complete a takeover of one of the most critically acclaimed wrestling promotions on the planet. A company that just a few years earlier seemed almost destined to pass HGC and become the second big promotion in the US and then died as the 4th biggest promotion. Hell, even USPW managed to overtake DAVE before they died but I won’t start treading on that old ground again because I don’t want to one day read back over these blogs and see them filled with anger and frustrations about what could’ve been and what has been… Of course, DAVE’s ultimate demise was down to three men. Three genius men, brilliant at coming up with storylines and creating new stars. DAVE never had a problem in the creative department which is one of the reasons I was never taken seriously during my time there. Phil Vibert, Nemesis and Mitch Naess had made dozens of stars over the years and even up until DAVE’s closing they were still making more stars. With the kind of critical success they achieved they didn’t need me but I was always prepared to sit in on meetings and listen to them hammer out the details of their next scheme. I tried to contribute some of my own ideas but they never really needed me anyways. Shame really, because while they were talking I was always listening and taking notes. And now, I’ve got many of their own unused ideas and creative genius to add to my own not inconsiderable storytelling mind. That… and a mind that is far better at managing finances and getting sponsors than any of those men ever were. So as I said, it’s been nine months in the making, just like a real child now that I think of it. DAVE closed their doors in March of 2007 and now it’s time for my own little holiday season miracle as I’ve finally secured the finances I need to start my own promotion. I could’ve done it months ago if I’d been willing to take risks with my own cash and the little that the financiers would give to me to start my own promotion rather than continuing with the established DAVE brand. But now I’ve finally got enough cash to give my own promotion a kickstart. I’m not talking J.K. Stallings levels of cash or anything although God alone knows what I could do if I had access to his chequebook but I’ve certainly got enough to make things very interesting. In years gone by DAVE has often been cited as being a revolution in pro wrestling. Along with the other East Coast promotions, DAVE helped bring new styles into the mainstream and bring a more modern kind of entertainment into the top promotions. In truth, most of pro wrestling today has already been done a decade ago by promotion far more edgy and forward thinking, more willing to take risks and push boundaries than the SWF or TCW are ever going to be. Many fans think of DAVE as being hardcore without even stopping to think of what hardcore truly means. Hardcore isn’t hitting people with a chair, or jumping from a balcony to put someone through a table. It isn’t wrapping yourself in barbed wire or bleeding in every match you ever have. It isn’t about swearing on National television or flashing your tits to get a quick pop. No. Hardcore is about pushing your limits. It’s about eating, sleeping and breathing the wrestling business and loving it more than you love yourself, your wife or even your kids. It’s about going out every night and giving 110% no matter what because you know that the only way to become the best at what you do is by busting your ass. It’s about travelling the roads in cramped cars with 5 other guys, eating what you can sleeping wherever you need to. No-one becomes hardcore overnight, it takes years of dedication and drive to even get close. Hardcore, ultimately, is about sacrifice. Blood, sweat and tears. Nemesis and Vibert, they’ve left the industry for now and after so long it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to me. Naess… well, he’s running PSW now just down the road from some of DAVE’s biggest shows. Shawn Gonzalez, the unofficial 4th man on the booking team is running the show down in Puerto Rico too. And now me. The last and least known of the five, it’s my turn to step up and show the world what I can do. It’s been a long journey and it’s had it’s share of ups and downs. But finally, it’s time to evolve the original hardcore ideals of DAVE and being my own revolution in New York. Evolution and revolution. I can’t wait to see the look on Vibert’s face when he finds out what I’m up to. :) Christian Black
From: ProWrestlingHits.com/IndyNews By: Robert Greene
New Promotion Opens + First Card Information 2007 was an up and down year for professional wrestling as indy darlings Danger And Violence Extreme (DAVE) hung up their wrestling boots back in March. Since then though TCW and SWF have reaped much of the benefits of their closing, with many top DAVE stars now plying their trade on the big leagues with actual money going into their bank accounts at the end of each month as a result. Those who didn’t make it to the big leagues have seen themselves taking up job opportunities elsewhere, with a few electing to head to Japan to try their luck while others have joined the new promotions rising out of DAVE’s ashes, Freedom Carribean Wrestling (FCW) featuring Shawn Gonzalez and his students or Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling (PSW) headed by Mitch Naess and Alex Braun. The newest wrestling promotion to open their doors is Border-Line Wrestling (BLW), basing themselves out of New York and judging by their press release, aiming to more than pick up where DAVE left off. While many will not have heard of Christian Black, insiders will recognise his name as one of DAVE’s junior members who has in the past been spoken highly of by men like Shawn Gonzalez and Vin Tanner. If we are to believe what has been said, Black is a highly ambitious and driven guy with a fantastic creative mind who has yet to be given any real chance to shine in pro wrestling thus far. But all that is to change on January 16th as Christian Black brings the brand new Border-Line Wrestling promotion to their first show live from The Riot Act Club in New York City. Here is a run down of the matches scheduled for their inaugural show.
Evolution or Revolution? Will BLW modify what made DAVE great and continue in the trend of building stars or will BLW break the mould just as DAVE did and create a new era in professional wrestling? The first answers to those questions will come at BLW’s inaugural show featuring seven matches and the crowning of the first ever BLW World Champion. 12 men will be vying for the right to call themselves the first BLW World champion but they will have to outlast the other 11 men on this night over two stages. The first stage will see six 1 vs 1 matches, pitting the chosen few against each other for the right to enter the six man elimination match for the BLW World Championship. Only by winning your singles match can you enter the elimination match and then you must eliminate all of your competition until you are the last wrestler remaining undefeated. A mix of exciting rising stars and proven talents have all been invited to this epic event that will see wrestlers of many diverse styles battling it out until there is a winner! Here are the six singles matches that will be on the card, remember only one man from each match can advance for the chance to call himself the first ever BLW World Champion!! “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague Fumihiro Ota has been one of the top cruiserweight wrestlers in North America for almost a decade, first rising to prominence with CZCW and then to dominance with TCW (then called HGC). Combining aerial offense with mat warfare, he will look to take it to the current three time Coastal Zone Extreme champion and one of the most talked about talents on the indy scene. With both of these men show stealers in their own right this match may very well blow the roof off the Riot Act Club as both men aim to lay claim to the BLW World Championship. “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs The Sensational Singh 2007 was a real break out year for “Shooter” Sean Deeley as he reigned as Canadian champion in CGC and joined up with the dangerous Elite stable. A gifted amateur wrestler he is one of the most consistent and dangerous wrestlers on the planet who seems destined to not only be a star but to also bring technical wrestling back to the forefront of pro wrestling. His opponent is a man who has also undergone a massive change in 2007. The Sensational Singh, as he insists you call him, has been one of the most impressive wrestlers in FCW since it opened. With an excellent all round game and tremendous power for a man his size, Singh is one of the most under-rated men in all of professional wrestling. “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali What is left to say about Steve Flash? The man can do it all in the ring and even as he passes his 40th birthday he only seems to be getting better and better, just like a fine wine. But the NYCW Empire Champion will have to be on top of his game if he is to get past “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali. Sayeed has become a cult phenomenon thanks to his no holds barred brutal style of wrestling. Making his mark in 4C with a bloody beatdown of then champion Barry Kingman, he laid claim to the 4C Championship in November with another bloody match with Jacob Jett. These two men both have a lot of pride at stake in this match as they will each be representing their own companies, but only one man can progress so it will come down to who wants it most! Leper Messiah vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner Leper Messiah has been one of the standouts of FCW since it’s debut although not entirely because of his wrestling skills. The crazed man is a nightmare in human form, seemingly devoid of morality and in favour of inflicting pain on others as a practical experiment of human anatomy. Going up against the nightmare is DAVE legend and 2 time Extreme Champion, Vin Tanner. Tanner is known for being one of the trickiest wrsetlers in pro wrestling, never afraid to take a shortcut or two for an advantage but against a man like Leper Messiah will Tanner’s tricks even have any effect? Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman The bar fighting, beer drinking, bike riding, wrecking machine, Lead Belly is no stranger to taking things to extremes. Known during their SWF tenure for riding motorcycles to the ring, Lead Belly and his tag partner Grease Hogg left the company for being “too restricting”. Now allowed to do whatever they please, Lead Belly has begun unleashing his freakish power across the US independent scene leaving nothing but destruction in his wake. Barry Kingman will have his work cut out for him countering the biker, but if anyone knows how to chop a big man down and wrestle him then it’s the son of “Crippler” Ray Kingman. “Mr XFW” Frankie Future vs “The King Of The Ladder Match” Remmy Skye Alongside “Ace Express” Rick Sanders, Frankie Future has been spearheading a revolution of his own since the demise of DAVE. The two men have been campaigning across the indy scene and have repeatedly stated that DAVE would never have folded if it had hired “Mr XFW” and “Ace Express”. Many have disagreed but Future’s inspired performances recently have saw his stock rise beyond the level he was at even at his XFW peak. But Future has never faced a man as unique as Remmy Skye, the widely acknowledged “King of the Ladder Match” and master of the psyche out. Remmy’s unortodox ring style and complete fearlessness in the ring make him impossible to predict and this not only leads him to many victories but he has a huge cult following who will be sure to be cheering him all the way to the gold if they can. You've put together some good match ups for your first show, as none of them are what I would call a foregone conclusion Quick Picks for BLW: Evolution Or Revolution “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague Both could realistically advance, but i'll give the edge to Plague. This is due to his superior stamina levels, which could come in useful for the two match format. “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs The Sensational Singh Singh is under-rated, but Deeley is still the better wrestler and I think you would want as many as your potential top performers in the finals as possible. “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali Sayeed's time will come but Flash will bring more to the finals match. I can see this ending as a DQ, to put over Ali as a bad-ass street thug. Leper Messiah vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner I'm going to call the 'upset' in this one. Tanner is washed up, over the hill etc and Leper Messiah has a great character that has the potential to become something really iconic. Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman Lead Belly though he has experience of working in the SWF, is primarily a tag wrestler and I can see Kingman's experience of working more singles matches coming into play. “Mr XFW” Frankie Future vs “The King Of The Ladder Match” Remmy Skye Even though Frankie could beat Skye, I don't think he would bring anything to the Finals match Six man elimination match to crown the first BLW World Champion: Elimination 1: Barry Kingman Elimination 2: Remmy Skye Elimation 3: Leper Messiah Elimination 4: Shooter Sean Deeley Elimination 5: Steve Flash Winner: Plague I can definately see Plague and Flash being the final two, with Flash looking like he will win but being distracted by Sayeed Ali. Wow...you really are back with a vengeance! Seems like a good time as any to get back into predicting on these here dynasties. Hopefully, this will motivate me to continue the adventures of one Mr. Force. Quick Picks for BLW: Evolution Or Revolution
“Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs The Sensational Singh “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali Leper Messiah vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman “Mr XFW” Frankie Future vs “The King Of The Ladder Match” Remmy Skye ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? – Six man elimination match to crown the first BLW World Champion - Plague! Quick Picks for BLW: Evolution Or Revolution “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague "Fumihiro Ota" translated from japanese means overrated and nearly worthless, for those of you who didn't know. ;) Plague is now; Ota is 2004. “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs The Sensational Singh Shooter Sean could really thrive in a promotion like this as a wrestler's wrestler, I think. Singh will have his character to get him over and doesn't need the win. “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali If only Flash got as much love in the C-Verse as we have for him as fans of the C-Verse. He'll cover the psychology part of the six man, too, keeping question marks like Lead Belly, Remmy, and Plague on task. Leper Messiah vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner I have a man-crush on the Leper Messiah character but have been resisting bringing him into the fold in my diary game. Tigerkinney's portrayal makes him seem a lot cooler than he really is, ratings wise. Tanner is going to be cool with doing some jobs before his exit so I'd start both he and Leper Messiah on their respective paths posthaste. Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman The talking member of the DWB, with some experience on the big stage, will take out Kingman, squash style. Oh, and 'No Gimmick Needed" usually is code for "No Charisma". Deely covers that; two of those guys is a crowd unless it's NOTBPW, there it's the main event scene. “Mr XFW” Frankie Future vs “The King Of The Ladder Match” Remmy Skye I like both characters, but will have to side with Skye, as his charisma is something that very few on this roster can match. That's important, too. So's his love of ladder spots. Deeley vs Flash vs Remmy vs Lead Belly vs Plague vs Leper Messiah – Six man elimination match to crown the first BLW World Champion I see Flash being able to get money matches out of each one of the other five competitors in the match, giving you a run of shows with solid main events to start, right out of the gate. And each match bring a little something different to the table as far as style is concerned. Deely can wrestle, Remmy's got spots, Plague flat out flies, and Lead Belly and Messiah brawl. Good luck with the diary. Looking forward to it. :)

uick Picks for BLW: Evolution Or Revolution “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague I've always gotten more out of Ota than out of Plague. “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs The Sensational Singh Deeley is light years better, you just have to hope he doesn't spend all his time in Japan “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali Ages like a fine wine and is still better than 90% of the wrestlers in the world Leper Messiah vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner Messiah at least has relative youth and a fresh character Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman Straight edged mat shooters are always a staple in a cult like fed. “Mr XFW” Frankie Future vs “The King Of The Ladder Match” Remmy Skye Gotta go with the avatar ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? vs ??? – Six man elimination match to crown the first BLW World Champion Flash is the best of the bunch to be the inaugural torch bearer.

It’s front row seats for almost everyone around ringside as the small group of hardcore fans take their seats and get ready for a night of action that promises to be very good considering the $5 admission price. Without introduction an almost unknown man steps into the ring with the house microphone and the crowd watch expectantly Black: “Welcome everyone to Border-Line Wrestling!! Tonight, as I’m sure you know, is our debut show and we have an action packed card for you as we crown our first ever BLW World Champion. We have six 1 versus 1 qualifying matches for you tonight with the winners of wach progressing into tonight’s main event match, a six man elimination match for the BLW World Championship. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado I present to you the first match in a BLW ring. Entering first, wearing all black and hailing from Japan…” ”Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Plague Ring introductions aside, the crowd (few though they were) pop for the entrances of both men. The small crowd on hand know about wrestling and these two men are among the cream of the crop when it comes to the indy scene in North America right now and this match doesn’t look like disappointing anyone. The match starts out with some quick chain wrestling and progresses into a fairly spotty game of one upmanship. A few momentum swings later and the paces picks up with both men looking to put each other away. Ota’s drop toe hold almost has Plague in position for the Ninja Strike (running enziguri) but Plague avoids it and hits a massive DDT on Ota. Plague sets up for the New Jersey Turnpike (slingshot corkscrew legdrop) but Ota’s ninja reflexes sees him roll out the way and up to his feet quickly, catching Plague with a Ninja Strike for good measure and picking up a pinfall victory. WINNER: “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota by Ninja Strike RATING: C Lead Belly vs “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman With the crowd still coming down from the excellent opening match Lead Belly makes his entrance to the ring on his motorcycle, revving the engine loudly. Barry Kingman followed to the ring on foot and looks very small compared to the far larger, more powerful Lead Belly. The match follows a familiar pattern as Lead Belly tries to dominate Kingman with his size and Kingman tries to out-wrestle the far bigger man with the same techniques that made his father “Crippler” Ray Kingman a legend. Kingman launches kick after kick at Lead Belly’s left knee, trying to chop the big man down but Lead Belly fights back with powerful clotheslines and mauls Kingman into the corner. A mistake by Lead Belly allows Kingman to fight back with a chop block and Kingman goes to town on the knee. A few minutes pass and Lead Belly eventually sends Kingman to the apron to escape a hold. As Lead Belly tries to shake off the effects of his knee being worked on Kingman climbs to the top looking for a double axehandle but he gets caught around the throat with both hands by Lead Belly and moments later Kingman is back in the air and finding himself driven into the mat with the RPM Bomb (spinning double handed chokebomb). This match is history. WINNER: Lead Belly RATING: D Mark Smart Gives The Insider News Moments after Lead Belly has driven back out on his motorcycle we hear some energetic dance music playing and another man coming to the ring that isn’t advertised tonight. Smart: “Ladies, gentlemen and… whatever you are, I’m here to give you the inside news on what you can expect here in BLW. My name is Mark Smart and I have here in my hand the running order for tonight’s show. All the results, all the planned angles and everything you could hope to see, just as you expect to get backstage at any SWF event.” Recently a script was leaked on the internet for a live SWF Supreme TV show a full 24 hours in advance. A junior staff member was fired as a result of the leak but it certainly made for interesting reading to anyone wondering how wrestling worked at the highest level. The SWF tried to change things up a little once they found out about the leak but 90% of the script actually played out on TV and several fans in the audience were holding up signs spoiling the results throughout the night. Smart: “As you already know, Ota and Plague were planned to have an awesome match and I think you’ll agree with me that it certainly was great. Might be match of the night material if you get my drift. Up next was obviously the match you just saw that saw Lead Belly beat Barry Kingman. But to be fair, that result was pretty much a foregone conclusion. I mean, who in their right mind would push a thirty something washed-up, never-was like Barry Kingman?” As Mark Smart continues talking he fails to see Barry Kingman recovering from the effects of the RPM Bomb and slowly get to his feet. The look on Kingman’s face moves quickly from frustration at losing to anger at being talked about by Mark Smart and he begins to turn bright red the more Smart talks. Smart: “I know you all know what I mean, you guys are all like me. Guys in the know, not marks like the guys at SWF crowds. I mean, “Crippler” Ray Kingman was a legend in his day, a true great of the industry. But it seems that talent is genetic cos Barry Kingman isn’t even half the man his father was. Hell, Ray is probably still better now than Barry is. So yeah, Lead Belly won that match obviously because no-one in their right mind would push Barry Kingma….” Kingman has clearly had enough and spins Smart straight around into a Black Out (Downward Spiral) before locking on the Kingman Krippler (Crippler Crossface). Mark Smart screams and taps out frantically as Kingman wrenches back on the hold for almost a minute before finally letting it go. Kingman yells a few choice words at Smart and then storms out the ring to the back, leaving Referee McArtheur to help get Smart out of the ring too. Flash climbs the corner to pose for the fans and is quickly ambushed by Sayeed, sending Flash crashing to the floor from the top. The match stays on the floor for the next couple of minutes as Sayeed uses the ring as a weapon, decimating Flash with repeated shots into the ringpost. It becomes clear that Sayeed is looking to draw blood as he yells very colourful abuse at Flash and goes for a chair. Flash ducks a certain knockout blow as Sayeed swings with the chair and hits nothing but ringpost, allowing Flash to use a double leg takedown and slingshot Sayeed into the ringpost himself. The match finally spills into the ring and Flash starts putting on a show, hitting a backdrop on Sayeed before executing a standing moonsault into a series of mounted punches. Sayeed doesn’t seem to know whether he’s coming or going as he stumbles into the corner and Flash looks for a leaping avalanche only for Sayeed to sidestep it and send Flash crashing into the turnbuckle. Sayeed grabs Flash by the hair and takes him on a tour of the corners knocking Flash silly with multiple head shots into the corners. Sayeed leaves Flash in the corner as he builds up some momentum for himself and catches him with a devastating running back elbow in the corner, scrambling Flash’s brain further. Sayeed whips Flash across the ring and follows up a moment later with a second running elbow. Flash looks on Dream Street as Sayeed builds up for a third but he sidesteps the elbow and rolls up Sayeed with a schoolboy, barely holding Sayeed’s shoulders down long enough for the three count! WINNER: Steve Flash RATING: D+ Referee McArtheur raises Flash’s hand in victory but Sayeed is not happy about the count. He confronts the referee and tries to intimidate him into changing the decision and when that fails he turns back to Steve Flash. Sayeed drops Flash with a big kick to the head and lays a beatdown on him, raining down fists as Flash does his best to cover up. Sayeed rolls out of the ring and shoves one of the fans out of their seat and folds it up as he gets back into the ring. Flash gets to his feet as Sayeed yells at him and then jabs him in the gut with the chair, doubling Flash over and dropping the chair to the mat. Sayeed then drills Flash headfirst into the chair with the GBH Driver (Impant DDT) to the boos of the crowd, leaving Flash in the middle of the ring bleeding from the forehead. Deeley makes his way to the ring in basic wrestling gear, wearing a red singlet and a red zipped hoodie to match while The Sensational Singh comes out wearing a bright pink robe, bleached blonde hair and with hir own personal trainer to fan him down before the match. After consulting with his ringside trainer for a minute or so and getting some last minute info and tips on how to look good while wrestling, Singh quickly finds himself taken down to the mat by the Shooter. Deeley tries to work into a rear naked choke but Singh manages to get into the ropes and Deeley dutifully breaks the hold. Singh stalls for time after that talking to Dermot at ringside and every time a lock up is almost done, Singh returns to his corner for some advice. With the crowd booing Singh, the second lock up sees Deeley use a waistlock to once again take Singh down to the mat but once more Singh escapes to the safety of the ropes. Clearly rattled by his opponents overwhelming takedown ability, Singh tries to mix things up by going for a test of strength only to slap the Shooter hard across the face. Deeley loses his cool and charges at Singh, taking him down with a double leg takedown. Singh tries to squirm free and get back to his feet but Deeley is relentless. Singh looks like he’s close to getting up when the Shooter gets a front face lock and then trips Singh down to the mat, where it’s immediately obvious that Singh is in trouble. Deeley locks in the Front Choke Lock and with Dermot almost screaming at ringside Singh is forced to tap out, getting a small chant from the crowd on hand. WINNER: “Shooter” Sean Deeley RATING: D+ Dermot helps Singh to get out of the ring and walks him to the back, constantly reassuring Singh that everything is okay while Shooter keeps a wary eye on the both of them until they are gone before heading to the back himself. Messiah quickly uses his superior size to menace Tanner back into a corner, looming over him for a few seconds before stepping back into the center of the ring. Messiah does the same thing again but Tanner hasn’t come as far as he has done just to be menaced and sticks a thumb into Messiah’s eye. Tanner quickly tries to hit the V For Victory (Spinning Face First Suplex) but Messiah simply overwhelms him and takes him over with a sustained vertical suplex. Tanner writhes around the mat in pain as Messiah stands on one of his hands to punish him further, only to hoist him back up to his feet and hit an even longer sustained suplex on Tanner. The V Man is clearly in trouble as Messiah follows up by simply walking across Tanner’s stomach, his 340lb+ frame driving any remaining wind right out of the DAVE star. Messiah continues to dominate Tanner, cutting off Tanner’s fightbacks with clubbing blows and clotheslines before picking a body part and putting basic pressure on it, testing to see how much pain it takes to make Tanner give up. A long bear hug from Messiah has Tanner grunting in pain as the crafty veteran struggles to find a way out of the hold, eventually hitting a couple of bell ringers to little effect and then gouging the eyes again. Messiah breaks the hold as Tanner tries to get some breath back into him, Tanner sucks up all the wind he can and shoots himself off the ropes to hit with a clothesline that only staggers the monster. Tanner tries for a second clothesline that sends the big guy rebounding off the ropes giving Tanner time to go for a third. Messiah ducks in anticipation but Tanner sees it coming and uses a small package pin to surprise Messiah and most in the arena as he picks up the three count. Tanner is quickly out the ring with Referee McArtheur close behind to raise his hand and Messiah watches on with a weird grin, telling Tanner that he wasn’t done playing with him yet. At ringside is “Ace Express” Rick Sanders supporting his tag partner and friend, trying to distract Remmy long enough for Future to get an opening. Eventually Skye turns his back on Future long enough for Future to charge at him but Remmy ducks and pulls the rope down sending Future to the floor. Remmy quickly follows up with a slingshot crossbody to both men, effectively neutralising the threat of Sanders for now. Skye’s early advantage sees him gain some momentum but Future turns it around with a spinebuster. Future works over Skye with a series of chinlocks and forearm smashes, trying to keep the charismatic youngster grounded and disoriented. The crowd start getting behind Remmy and after breaking the hold he nails misses an enziguri attempt only to land on his foot and connect with a mule kick. Skye builds up momentum as he repeatedly puts Future down with running clotheslines and picks up the pace of the match to his more favoured tempo. The match starts building to its climax as Skye drops Future with a Cobra Neckbreaker and sets him up for the Skye Dive. Future looks out of it as the 85 fans in the club get to their feet but as he goes for the Skye Dive (Swanton) Sanders makes his presence felt, pulling Skye out of the way. Future is quickly revived by some encouraging words from Sanders and as Remmy gets to his feet he is decked by a devastating Frank-N-Hurter (Roaring Elbow) to the temple allowing Future to pick up the three count. Sanders: “Remmy Skye, you just found out first hand what happens to people who don’t belong in our fight. You might be a star of the future but tonight isn’t about you. 10 years ago, DAVE became a major player when they bought out all their competition in the East Coast Wars and unified the title belts of Rapid Pro Wrestling, Philly Pro Wrestling and Xtreme Federation of Wrestling with their own. On March 23rd 1998, my former tag team partner, my former best friend became a wrestling legend when he won that tournament. Johnny Martin became on that night the king of East Coast wrestling, the new darling of DAVE, champion of champions and proved himself to be the biggest backstabbing son of a bitch in pro wrestling history. And that’s no mean feat considering how willing everyone is to step on you just to get themselves over.” Sanders pauses to let the crowd on hand boo his words as Frankie Future kicks Remmy out of the ring to the floor. Sanders: “You see, before Johnny Martin became Phil Vibert’s pet, he and I were one of the greatest tag teams to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. We were tipped to be the next big thing in tag team wrestling, destined for the very top of the industry together, legends in the making… until Johnny decided he would much rather have a singles career. Until he let his own selfishness get in the way of what we could have, no, should have been. He saw a chance and he seized it and he abandoned me. He was so busy sucking Vibert that he never had the time to use his new found influence to give me a break. I was never given the shots he was given, never given even so much as a hint of a break and when Vibert eventually came to me to tell me I wasn’t going to get any more matches in DAVE all Johnny could say to me was… “Man, that sucks.” We broke into the industry together and all he could say was…” Future takes the microphone out of Sanders’ hand and gets a hint of a pop for doing so, but the fan reaction changes once Future starsts talking. Future: “To cut to the point, “Ace Express” Rick Sanders and me, “Mr XFW” are the forgotten men of the East Coast wars. While men like Johnny Martin were turned into DAVE icons by Vibert, guys like us were left behind. Whether we were best friends or worst enemies in our respective promotions, we were left behind as casualties of war, abandoned by our comrades as they chased down whatever limelight they could grab. Gonzalez hated that I was a brighter star than him in XFW and pulled out every trick he could to make sure he was still XFW champion heading into that tournament. Johnny Martin abandoned his tag parter and best friend just so that he could follow his own selfish dreams. Phil Vibert, Nemesis, Mitch Naess… they never hired us, never wanted us back, never could deal with men like us on the roster. They knew what would happen if they hired us. We would have been unstoppable” The list of DAVE’s most popular stars only serves to pop the crowd a little as Sanders and Future look angrily around the fronts rows of people to see their reactions. Future: “But one man can’t fight all those men on their own, even the best needs someone to watch his back to make sure someone like Gonzalez or Martin isn’t waiting to stab you in it again. 10 years ago, the East Coast wars were declared to be over with DAVE having it’s collective hand raised as the winner. Well, DAVE isn’t around any more and now the fight is back on. We aren’t going to sit back and wait for our future to come to us, we’re taking it for ourselves. Tonight, “Mr XFW” becomes the BLW World Champion… and V Man… Flash… you guys had better realise that this war is not over, this war never ended. This is the truth and you’re all about to find out first hand that The Truth hurts.” RATING: D+ FILLERFILLERFILLERFILLER 6-Man Elimination Match For The BLW World Championship ”Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota vs Lead Belly vs “Vintage” Steve Flash vs “Shooter” Sean Deeley vs “The V-Man” Vin Tanner vs “Mr XFW” Frankie Future Future finishes his speech and the crowd pop for the entrance of Steve Flash, followed quickly by all the other winners from tonights matches. The last man to enter is Lead Belly and the moment he steps into the ring all hell breaks loose as he attacks Vin Tanner. Future and Flash also pair off against each other while Deeley and Ota manage to maintain a more respectable posture in the ring, locking up almost tentatively compared to the rest and grappling around the ring looking for position. Tanner and Lead Belly spill to the floor quickly and brawl around the ring in front of the fans while Future and Flash trade shots all over the place. Things begin to settle down as the action on the outside begins to resemble a tag match pitting Tanner and Flash against Future and Lead Belly. In the ring Deeley is taking leave of his amateur roots and is pummeling Ota with a series of European uppercuts that see the Super Ninja stumbling all over the ring. The brawl on the floor intensifes as Lead Belly press slams Steve Flash over the front row of fans into some empty seats allowing a period of double teaming on Tanner by Lead Belly and Future, who seems to be taking great delight working over the former DAVE stalwart. After another few minutes the action in the ring has swung in favour of Ota again as he utilises locks in a variation arm bar over the top rope on Sean Deeley who is clearly in pain but also clearly in the ropes. Ota holds onto the move as long as possible before releasing the move and seeking the approval of the nearby fans. Future is starting to show the effects of having wrestled two matches in a row and is allowing Lead Belly to do most of the work on the floor as he works over Flash. Feeling that the time is now, Future rolls Flash into the ring and yells at Lead Belly to put him away while he goes after Tanner on the floor. But things don’t go according to Future’s plan as Tanner hits a poke to the eye the stuns him and then rams him hard into the corner post. Tanner slides into the ring quickly to save Steve Flash from being elevated into an RPM Bomb (spinning double handed chokebomb) by hitting a low blow that gets a pop from the crowd. Tanner tries to hit the big man with a V For Victory (spinning face first suplex) but can’t elevate Lead Belly, but Flash realises that he was saved by Tanner and hooks up Lead Belly on the other side. Between the two of them they manage to get Lead Belly up and drive him face first down to the mat with a double team V For Victory, allowing Vin Tanner to make the cover to get the first elimination of the match. [1st ELIMINATION: Lead Belly] A quick handshake between Flash and Tanner signals the end of their alliance and the two men start to trade blows in the middle of the ring while Ota puts the boots to Deeley in the corner. Future catches his breath on the floor for a while and surveys the in ring action, looking all the world like the 85th spectator for the event. Ota’s quick feet lead to him setting up an attempt at the Ninja Strike only for Deeley to duck out of the way and try to lock in a leg bar submission that Ota barely manages to get to the ropes to in order to escape after what seems like an eternity. Flash manages to hit his backdrop sequence, moonsaulting into a mount position and raining down blows on Vin Tanner. Tanner protects himself and Flash gets back to his feet in order to launch his next attack but he doesn’t see that Future has snuck back into the ring. Flash turns straight into a devastating Frank-N-Hurter that once again sees Steve Flash bleeding from the forehead. Future goes for a quick cover but Referee McArtheur only counts two much to the disbelief of Future. Before he can go for a second pin attempt he is met by the boots of Vin Tanner who begins to lay a beatdown on him. Another minute or two passes by and a three way brawl is happening in the ring with Tanner and Flash playing ping pong and sending Future back and forth between them with some big right hands. Deeley is down on the floor, the result of a plancha dive from Ota that seems to have taken a lot out of both men. Future is finally decked by a dropkick from Steve Flash who in turn is sent crashing to the floor by a running clothesline over the top by Tanner which gets a mixed reaction. Tanner then signals that it’s time for Future to see the V For Victory and he hooks him up, only to be distracted by a face in the crowd that seems to have appeared from nowhere. The fans notice who he’s looking at and some of them recognise the face of Citizen X who begins yelling things at Vin Tanner. Tanner drops Future and begins to say a few things back to Citizen X, not noticing Deeley hit Ota with a German Suplex on the floor and then slip into the ring. Deeley doesn’t even waste a moment to check what Tanner is doing as he German suplexes Tanner out of his boots and holds the bridge to pick up a three count. [2nd ELIMINATION: Vin Tanner] With just four men left things start to become less chaotic as Ota and Flash meet on the floor while Deeley tries to repeat his successful formula and suplex Future. But Future holds onto the ropes and connects with a couple of elbows to Deeley’s head before sending him crashing into the steel ringpost shoulder first. Deeley is clearly in pain from the move as Future sits back in the opposite corner to get himself a breather and keep himself as fresh as possible. Ota manages to get the advantage on Flash and hits him with a few devastating knee strikes to Flash’s cut before getting up to the apron. We never find out what he’s aiming to do as Deeley reaches over the ropes and tries to hit a release German Suplex, only for Ota to use his agility and land on his feet. A quick drop kick sees Deeley looking dazed but when Ota shoots himself off the ropes Deeley explodes out looking for a clothesline, missing as Ota ducks under. Ota still has speed on his side as Deeley tries again but Ota evades again. Flash sneaks in the ring behind Deeley as Ota looks for a flying clothesline, only to have Deeley duck it and land right in the clutches of Steve Flash who drives Ota hard to the mat with a Flash Bang (Rock Bottom) and there is no way that Referee McArtheur wasn’t counting three on that one. [3rd ELIMINATION: Fumihiro Ota] Flash’s victory celebration is short lived though as Frankie Future seizes the opportunity to strike, powering out of the corner with a brutal Frank-N-Hurter that catches Flash in the temple and drops him cold to the mat. The crowd seem almost stunned as McArtheur counts the three again leaving us with just two remaining participants. [4th ELIMINATION: Steve Flash] With just two men left in the ring it seems that Deeley may well be back in his element of 1 vs 1 action. Future barely has time to register his pinfall on Flash before Deeley in on top of him and trying to work his way into a seated arm stretch. Future manages to squirm his way to the ropes though before Deeley is able to lock it in and manages to capitalise on Deeley’s enthusiasm by using his momentum and sending him through the ropes to the floor. The next couple of minutes see Future working over Deeley’s injured should by using the turnbuckle as a weapon while McArthuer looks on helplessly. Deeley’s amateur background isn’t much use to him on the floor and Future’s experience in brawling shows as he uses a single arm DDT on the floor to further work over the arm. Future lets everyone know how smart he is by letting them all know that “there must be a winner” so there is no DQ at this point in the match and he goes for a chair. But referee McArtheur blocks Future from being able to use it and insists that the match must get back in the ring or he’ll disqualify Future anyway. Future thinks better of testing how far he can push the referee and the match gets back into the ring at last with Future still in charge of things. Future lays the boots to him and then starts demanding that Deeley get to his feet, looking to strike with the Frank-N-Hurter once again. Deeley ducks the move and tries for a takedown but a sharp elbow from Future blocks that and a spinebuster rattles Deeley for a close two count. Future drags Deeley back up to his feet again and after a few forearm shivers, sends Deeley to the ropes and connects with another brutal twisting spincebuster for a second close two count. Deeley looks to be on Dream Street as Future pulls him back to his feet again and wears him down with a series of chops against the ropes that really light up Deeley’s chest. Future shoots Deeley to the ropes again and looks for another spinebuster but Deeley is ready for it and quickly hooks up a Front Choke Lock, tripping Future to the mat so that he can’t escape. The crowd pop for the move as Deeley grunts in pain as he tries to keep the move locked in and yells for Future to tap, getting the crowd to join in with a chant of their own. Future clearly panics as he flails and puts everything into escaping the move, trying to power out without being able to breathe or move but he simply doesn’t have the strength left in him and is forced to tap out.
Captain’s blog, After BLW: Evolution Or Revolution Tonight has been a difficult night. Even leading up to the show I had no idea how many people were going to show up. I had managed to advertise the show through the internet and there were posters up in the local area but getting people to come to a wrestling show isn’t as easy now as it used to be. We’ve got access to the talent, we’ve got a great venue in the Riot Act Club but drawing fans won’t be easy without some sort of reputation. 84 fans? I was hoping to at least sell out the 300 seats we had put out for the crowd. A definite loss but I think we’ve caught on to something here. The fans went home extremely happy with what they saw and they know that we’re willing to pay for some of the top independent names around. I still firmly believe that we can sell out the floor around ringside sometime over the coming months and if it looks like we can do that then I’m going to get the use of the balconies above the ring. Well, around the main dancefloor really. I know I haven’t talked about this much in my blogs but this venue has the possibility of being one of the best wrestling venues in the world. The crowd, what little there was of it, were hot for the whole night and reacted well to the matches and the angles we put on. Before the show went on I had a look at the crowds we drew and realised that it was mostly guys in their late teens and twenties, so in future we can probably get away with some more riqsue stuff. While this may not bring families in, it’s not like kids have money to spend anyways. RPW was a colourful maskfest and still fell to DAVE during the East Coast Wars. What really makes a promotion is the storylines and we’re in prime position to tell great stories. With Sanders and Frankie on board, I can’t help get the feeling that it’s 1997 all over again. Different cast, same story. Two shows coming up in February, that’s for sure. You can’t tell good storylines when you have 4 or 5 weeks between shows, people just don’t have that kind of attention span. We’re going to get noticed. We’re small now but that means we can push our own stars as we want to and still get away with it because people have lower expectations. I might leak this show onto the internet, the footage from the night looks pretty good and thanks to the club’s sound system and lights it actually looks like we’ve got pretty good production values. I almost dread the day we have to move on out of here… Anyways, enough from me for now. We’ve got tag team titles to decide on one of next month’s shows and then it’s the big one. The really ground breaking idea that will blow everyone away. Once the internet fans catch on to this one BLW will be one place that no-one will be able to stay away from. Gonzalez, Vibert, Nemesis, Naess… not a one of them will believe what they see… Christian Black
OOC: This show took waaay longer to write than I thought it would. I just couldn't resist making the first title match seem important. I'm also glad to see that no-one managed to call everything correctly, that makes me happy. Hopefully I've got enough of your attention to keep you reading in future. The next card should be up tomorrow with probably another 24 hours to get some predictions done if you want. I wonder if anyone will be able to guess what I'm up to.

It was clear from the moment the injury occurred that he was severely injured and it seems that doctors have told Randall that he may never wrestle again. The popular TCW star has been with the company since 1999 when he was one of the founding members of the rock band Painful Procedure, a group that only recently split in storyline terms. The challenger, Jacob Jett, let it be known that he wanted a shot at the BLW World Championship and in the spirit of competition Deeley accepted the challenge. This will be his first attempt to defend his newly won crown as he takes on one of the most exciting talents in world wrestling today, a man whose nickname is “The Amazing” because he is exactly that. Will Deeley’s title reign get off to a flying start? Or will Jett’s BLW take off in spectacular fashion? The Truth have been making their presence felt and their voices heard as they lay seige to the East Coast with their crusade, letting everyone know how badly they’ve been treated and how they’re seeking revenge against those who competed in the East Coast Wars a decade ago. Flash was bloodied at Future’s hands last time they met in BLW and this match promises to be an intense battle between 4 of the biggest names in Border-Line Wrestling. “Shooter” Sean Deeley © vs “The Amazing” Jacob Jett for the BLW World Championship As good as Jett is, I don't see Deeley losing the title on his first defense. The Truth (Rick Sanders & Frankie Future) vs “The V Man” Vin Tanner & “Vintage” Steve Flash I see The Truth being more of a main even fixture, and so they get the win here. This one could easily go the other way though, as both Flash and Tanner are quite good. Burning EXILE vs “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota EXILE is definitely the better talent, but Ota is more established in the States, so he gets the win here. Natural Storm (Eddie Howard & D.C. Rayne) vs C-V-2 (Casey Valentine & Cameron Vessey) Easily the best young tag team on the independent circuit, the Natural Storm pick up the win here. Burning Bridges (Dynamite Narahashi & Fuse Hidekazu) vs Air Attack Weasel & Davis Wayne Newton AAW's involvement is a wildcard here to me, but I still see the North American pair beating the invading team, although this one could have the potential to be quite a great pure wrestling contest.

Vessey and Valentine have their father’s name recognition on their side, although the fans in attendance let their feeling about Peter Valentine be known with a “Dad Can’t Wrestle Chant”. The momentum swings back and forth with both teams have periods of control but neither side getting a true definitive advantage. A distraction from DC Rayne keeps the ref’s attention while Eddie Howard locks in the the Transgenderizer (testicaular claw) on Casey making him scream in pain. Vessey storms the ring only to quickly be tossed to the floor and DC Rayne is tagged in to put the finishing touch to the match, drilling Casey to the mat with a Rayne Drop (twisting Death Valley Driver) for the three count while Eddie makes sure Vessey can’t break up the pin. Vessey is back in the ring to check on his tag team partner when a familiar voice comes over the house microphone. Kingman: “While I know that the fans here couldn’t care less who wins, Valentine.. Vessey.. I do. And I saw what just happened to you out here when those punks disrespected you. Not just you, but also the legacy that you are a part of. I mean.. who grabs another guy by the… the… groin anyway?” In the ring, Vessey helps his tag partner get to his feet after glancing towards Kingman who is getting into the ring now. Kingman: “That’s the problem with youngster today, they don’t have any respect for anyone. But I know you two are different, you’re part of a legacy created by your father’s and I know that you have respect, whether you learned it yourself or it was beaten into you when you were kids. But respect or no, you must remember to never stay in the shadows of your fathers forever. I can help you guys become great, I can help you guys become legends in your own right” Vessey: “Dude, we just lost a match. We’re done here tonight, go bother someone else.” Kingman: “Go… bother someone else? Bother? I’m trying to give you an opportunity that I never had? I’m trying to give you a chance to shine, a chance to step out on your own.” Vessey: “Then step out of our way and let us get to the back. We’re busy right now.” Kingman doesn’t know what to say as Vessey and Valentine leave the ring and head out to the back. After looking at them with disbelief for a minute he kicks one of the corner pads and then follows them away to the back. Diamond shoots Singh to the opposite corner and follows in closely with a running clothesline, then repeats again to send Singh faceplanting into the mat. Diamond signals for the end of the match by appealing to the crowd but as he goes for the Dazzle Driver (Styles Clash) Dermot pulls Singh out to the safety of the floor. For the next couple of minutes Singh and Dermot stall for time and Diamond begins to lose his cool, eventually causing him to get blindsided by Singh who gains control and works him over with a series of moves, including a beautiful dropsault that gives him time to pose for the fans. Singh is slow to go for the pin but after he gets a two count he briefly argues with the ref before heading to the top rope in anticipation of Diamond getting to his feet. Diamond slowly gets to his feet but stumbles into the ropes, crotchig Singh and giving him the opportuniy to hit a big time superplex that has Singh howling in pain while Dermot tries to tell the referee that the crotching was a blatant low blow. Diamond then begins to build momentum again as he lets fly with a series of wild right hands that each send Singh to the mat. An atomic drop has Singh staggering in pain before Diamond hoists him up into the corner again facing out of the ring. Dermot yells words of advice to Singh who counters with a series of back elbows that send Diamond back down to the mat. Singh prepares himself for what looks to be a moonsault only to have Diamond once again crotch him on the top. Diamond hits a back suplex from the top that leaves both men down and out. Referee McArthuer issues the mandatory ten count with both men getting to their feet just in time. It looks like they are both about start trading blows when Dermot once again pulls Singh out of the ring and starts trying to give him advice. Diamond takes the chance to get himselfa breather as the referee counts, but suddenly Dermot and Singh start to take a walk. Diamond doesn’t look pleased but Dermot motions back to the referee that he won’t let Singh take any more illegal low blows. Singh and Dermot head to the back and the referee has no choice but to count to ten. He steps into the ring and a few fans begin to boo him. Smart: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here once again to give you the insider news on what is going to happen tonight here in BLW. Smart immediately starts to look through the papers with a panicked look on his face as Sayeed makes his way to the ring. Smart: “You aren’t supposed to be here. You’re not supposed to be here at all!!” Sayeed: “Well I got news for you mother****er, I’m here and I’m here to fight.” ”The Insider” Mark Smart vs ”The East Side Assassin” Sayeed Ali Sayeed nails Smart with a vicious forearm that sends his papers flying and forces him to drop the mic. Referee McArthuer quickly tidies things up as Sayeed lays into Smart with more vicious forearms in the corner, mauling him until he falls down into a seated position. McArthuer tries to separate them but while doing so is yelled by Sayeed until he calls for the bell to start the match. With Smart still recovering in the corner Sayeed positions himself across the ring from him and then charges in with a brutal back elbow that almost takes his head off forcing him down in the corner again. Sayeed yells at Smart to “spoil this mother****er” and shoots himself off the ropes coming back with a brutal facewash kick that leaves Mark Smart looking unconscious. Sayeed poses for a few moments as Mark Smart very slowly gets out of the corner and crawls up to his knees. Tired of waiting for Smart to get up, Sayeed hoists him up and quickly drops him with a GBH Driver (Impant DDT) that Mark sells like death, when thankfully Sayeed makes a cover to this match. In fact, they even booed the foreign visitors, leaving only young Davis Wayne Newton to get no real response and practically become the default babyface in this match. The match seems to build on this, with DWN taking much of the offense from the former BHOTWG employees who seem to work well as a tag unit. Weasel is constantly trying to get the tag, bouncing on the ropes and reaching out but DWN is getting nowhere near. Hidekazu and Narahashi work over DWN’s left arm constantly, wearing him down to the point where he finds it hard to fight back. Weasel eventually has enough and charges into the ring where he gets a few shots off against the foreigners but he is quickly cut off by Referee McArthuer who doesn’t see the double team behind his back. DWN finally starts to build some momentum against Hidekazu and nails a beautiful DDT that keeps him down. DWN is slowly making his way across the ring to get the tag with Weasel stretching and yelling for him to get over, but Narahashi cuts DWN off with a Narahashi Cutter (RKO) out of nowhere that looks like a knock-out shot on DWN. Weasel is quick into the ring and sends himself and Narahashi to the floor with a clothesline, leaving Hidekazu with enough time to lock on the Furuzawa armbar on DWN to pick up the submission victory. Playboy: “Boo me all you want, but it’s largely because of me that you ware here. You see, a few months ago I decided it would be fun to set up a little promotion of my own and try my hand at something that many others have failed at in the past. Whether it be Shane Sneer’s SCCW promotion or Phil Vibert’s DAVE promotion… I believe, no, I know I have what it takes to make a world class wrestling promotion that can succeed.” The crowd don’t respond well to Sawyer’s digs at Vibert and Sneer, both of whom made their names as indy managers and went on to run highly critically acclaimed promotions that indy fans will always remember fondly. Playboy: “Border-Line Wrestling is something of a pet project of mine, something I put together in some free time, an outlet that I can let some of my own tensions flow through. You see, I make the matches around here and I pay the wrestlers. They do what I say, when I say it but I must confess, I’m not here to rule like a dictator. This is also a place for them to sort out their own grievances and a place where you can pay to see people do things to each other that you could never bring yourself to do to the people you hate.” A bit of a mixed reaction for Sawyer but he is always known for being able to work the crowd well, it’s why he is one of the most highly respected managers around. Playboy: “In two weeks time, Border-Line Wrestling will present it’s third event entitled, Brothers In Arms. And on that show the BLW World Tag Team titles will be decided. Four tag teams will compete for the right to be the first ever champions here. The Burning Bridges team that you just saw compete will be one of them. The second, another team you have seen wrestle tonight, Natural Storm. The third are a team making a real name for themselves, the wild southerners Thimbleby Langton and Wooton Fitzpaine, known as the Good Ol’ Boys. And the final team in the match up, a team known throughout the USA and Japan as one of the craziest tag teams in professional wrestling. The team known as Split Personality, Deano Machino and the Insane Machine!” Sawyer lets the names sink in with the fans and begins walking away to the back, picking up the glass of wine from the concession stand on the way. He is about to walk through the doors when he turns back to the fans. Playboy: “Oh, and did I mention that they would all be facing each other in a ladder match?” RATING:E+ Burning EXILE vs “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota Going into this match there was no doubt among anyone in the crowd that this would fail to be exciting. Ota has been a fixture on the indy scene for seemingly forever and always performs well, while EXILE has an international reputation for being awesome… and for being a **** too. The match opened with some quick cruiserweight style wrestling stalemates, with both men able to match each other move for move. Just to show off they engage in some lucha stlye antics too, trading ranas and armdrags but never getting the upperhand really. Just for good measure they went through some striking battles too, trading stiff leg kicks as each man tries to slow the other down enough to get the advantage but to no avail. The crowd are really into this as both men start upping the ante, with Ota making the first real move to break away missing with an enziguri. EXILE seizes the advantage for a little while but finds himself on the floor where Ota hits an amazing plancha over the top rope that leaves both men down in front of the fans. Ota pushes the advantage for the next few minutes but is unable to connect with a Ninja Strike (running enziguri) attempt following a drop toe hold. Both men start looking for some big moves off the ropes now, with EXILE first missing a splash and then Ota missing a springboard moonsault. EXILE heads to the top again but Ota is quick to counter, looking for a big suplex that EXILE fights off with a barrage of rights and lefts. Ota crashes to the mat and EXILE comes flying off the top with a beautiful 450 splash that connects. The crowd think it’s over but the referee only gets a two count. EXILE can’t believe the 450 didn’t get the pinfall and tries to argue with the referee but suddenly the bell rings and the referee looks confused. At ringside Christian Black announces that the 20 minute time limit for the match has elapsed and that this match has been declared a draw, something the crowd aren’t pleased to hear. The momentum swings around in the early minutes of the match before settling into traditional tag team wrestling 101, as The Truth gain the upper hand and isolate Steve Flash for a lengthy period of time, with Sanders targetting Flash’s knee and Future simple wearing him down with headlocks and body blows, drawing the wind out of him. The pattern continues for quite some time, with tags being teased repeatedly but with Flash being dragged away each time he gets close. Sanders eventually locks Flash in the Figure 4 Leglock and the crowd get to their feet as Flash looks in serious pain given how long he’s had his knee worked over. Future senses that this may be the right time and quickly gets in the ring and charges at Tanner but Tanner sees it coming and blocks the charge. Future receives a thumb to the eye as Tanner then grabs him by the head and slams it into the top turnbuckle repeatedly, dazing Future. Tanner gets into the ring but can’t break up the submission hold as Flash yells in pain because Future gets his wits around him enough to block him off. Tanner and Future trade a few more punches as Future tries to make sure his partner can get the submission win but Future ends up elevated on Tanner’s shoulders and then dropped with a Samoan Drop on top of Sanders, finally breaking up the hold. Future rolls out of the ring as Tanner gets back to the apron to finally receive the tag from Steve Flash and Tanner wastes little time taking advantage of the damage he caused to Sanders from the Samoan Drop by going straight for the V For Victory, connecting with it right in the middle of the ring. X pounces on Tanner and the two start to brawl, while Future grabs a chair and bring it into the ring with him. He patiently waits for Tanner to get the upperhand in the mat brawl before nailing tanner across the back with the chair allowing X to take some free shots at Tanner. Flash tries to make the save but he is quickly dropped by Sanders who recovers and once again locks Flash in the Figure 4. X gets to his feet again, allowing Tanner to slowly get to his too before Future rattles him with a second chair shot that knocks out Tanner. Flash is screaming in pain and tapping out to the Figure 4 as Citizen X heads to the top rope and points at Vin Tanner, taunting him before leaping off with a Flaming Anarchy (Flying Back Senton). The crowd boo X, Sanders and Future as the three men leave Flash and Tanner decimated in the middle of the ring. The match starts slowly as Deeley would prefer, with the Shooter trying to wrestle Jett to the mat and utilise his mat wrestling and submission skills. Jett shows his wrestling competence by not letting Deeley get the advantage and showing off his reactions and foot speed by hitting a few kicks to Deeley whenever he tries to move in for a takedown. The first real offensive momentum of the match comes in favour of Jett when he escapes another takedown attempt from Deeley and nails him with a beautiful dropkick that knocks the champion off his feet. The pace of the match quickly picks up from there as Jett gains control, utilising his speed and out manoeuvring the champion. Jett’s momentum is eventually broken up when Deeley counters a leapfrog by stopping dead in front of Jett, catching him and throwing him with a crisp overhead belly to belly suplex. It’s then Deeley’s turn on the offense as he uses a range of headlocks and body scissors to keep Jett grounded, wearing him down and making sure he can’t get in any offense while at the same time giving himself a bit of a rest after the early initial flurry from Jett. The match picks up pace again when Jett finally breaks free from Deeley’s iron grip and lets loose with a flurry of blows, finishing off with a big spinning heel kick that almost takes Deeley’s head off. Deeley tries to put some distance between them and backs off into the corner but Jett follows in with some big forearms shots. Referee McArthuer gets his body between them and Jett backs off only to go spectacularly leap over him and connect with a big corner splash on Deeley. Deeley is clearly rocked as Jett looks fired up, sprinting out of the corner and then launching back in with a big knee to the gut that doubles Deeley over then springboarding off the second rope into a famouser, executing the move he calls the Emergency Landing. The crowd pop but Deeley gets a shoulder up after a long two count. Jett doesn’t let Deeley catch a break though as he stands up and places Deeley’s head between his knees in preparation for the Jett Take Off (roll through powerbomb). Jett gets Deeley up but the Shooter manages to slip over the top and get behind Jett, nailing him with a crisp bridging German suplex that gets a two count. Jett rolls to one side but Deeley doesn’t let go of the waistlock and manages to pull out another bridging German suplex that sees a second long two count. Jett looks like he’s in trouble as Deeley still refuses to release the move and hits a third suplex, but is this time unable to hold it for a pin as the 70 fans in the Club go wild. Neither man is quick to their feet but Deeley is up first and when he sees Jett is in trouble he begins to stalk him from behind. Jett gets to his feet and Deeley puts everything he has into throwing Jett over his head but Jett shows amazing agility and lands on his feet. Deeley gets back to his feet and sees that Jett is still on his feet so he charges at him. Jett sidesteps the charge and Deeley is met in the corner with a heavy knee in the gut that doubles him over. Jett once again goes for the Emergency Landing but Deeley evades the move and Jett crashes hard onto the canvas, with Deeley pouncing on him with the Seated Choke Lock. Jett is struggling to move with Deeley’s weight making it almost impossible for him to get breath from the angle he’s at and Jett has no choice but to tap out, much to the delight of the crowd.
Mood: Disappointed Listening To: KT Tunstall “Suddenly I See” Captain’s Blog, Post FiSpi New York and it’s surrounding area is reknowned for having tough fans but I can honestly say that after our debut show I never expected to actually LOSE fans at our second show. Even going into tonight’s event and knowing that only a few fans had visited the website to get tickets I’m still flabbergasted that we only drew a crowd of 70 fans. Still, the next show promises to be great. With a four team ladder match to decide the BLW World Tag Team titles we should be able to draw on the hardcore crowd that DAVE has always drawn on, and probably even the old XFW crowds if they ever learned to use the internet. I’m still hoping that by running regular events that we can build up a fanbase that will come to every event. I might have to consider lowering ticket prices to try and encourage repeat business. I may be a creative genius but when it comes to actually running a promotion this is my first time. I’m in two minds about what to do with the next show. I could make the tag ladder match the focus of the show and hope its enough to carry the card OR I could make it the sub main event and have Deeley defend the belt as the main event. The kid has a lot of talent and can really carry the main event scene but I’m not sure I want to take anything away from the tag match. Decisions… I should also really try not to spend too much on each show too. I might try to utilise mostly cheap talent on this show to see if that’s enough for the crowds here. But I do worry what might happen if we don’t keep putting on bigger shows than some of our local rivals. I mean… in the Tri-State area alone we’ve got competition from NYCW and PSW, with MAW just up the road and even FCW getting a fair amount of backing around here thanks to the internet. Just another month or so to go… maybe I’ll get Sawyer to announce it on the next show, though I’d hate to overshadow the main event, whatever I choose for that. Oh well, I’ve got two weeks to decide for sure. Sometimes I wish I had someone I could trust to bounce ideas off. It can be so lonely being so gifted sometimes… Christian Black
Looking for some feedback if anyone wants to leave any. I can't help thinking this format may be a little too long but no matter how short I want to make it I'm wrestling (hah!) with my own urge to show character through matches too. Dermot and Singh in particular are people who are more of the entertainer style and need it but I can imagine reading this much for every show could be fairly exhausting for both you guys and me in the long run. Also, since I'm sure it'll come up at some point, I'm not going to do a roster post for a while yet. Since people are still going to be revealed for a little while it doesn't seem worth it, plus I'd hate to try spelling out everything for you guys. I'm sure you'll see what I mean later, if I can pull it off right. :)

I hear you about the format; it is long and I can understand the level of work that goes into just one show. But, I really like the details and the way that it helps the characters grow into their personalities in fewer shows. I think the extra work will pay off in the long run. I'd stick to the way things are. :) Early pros for me are: Playboy Jake Sawyer's portrayal.- Setting down a wine glass on something on the way to the ring is outstanding. They are no where near the same character, but I keep thinking of Ty Webb from the Caddyshack movies when I read the Sawyer stuff. Just someone who is so rich, they are almost inept at being in the world, you know? Add in some heelish overtones, stir, and voila. CV2- Great name. It's so obvious and so perfect all at once. Shooter Sean- Has anyone ever really pushed him before, as a top guy? I'm intrigued just for that reason alone. Also, I'm a fan of the way the roster is constructed. Seemingly, there is a flavor for all tastes. I'm quite excited to read more; I think by next month this'll have its footing even more and quite a following of readers to show for it. Good luck. :)

From: ProWrestlingHits.com/IndyNews By: Robert Greene
Card For BLW: Brothers In Arms As we all know, I’m a big fan of indy wrestling, especially in the thriving scene going on in the Tri-State area at this time. You’d think with the downfall of DAVE that wrestling in the area would be at an all time low, but thankfully this isn’t the case. Border-Line Wrestling are preparing to hold their third show ever, making them the most prolific promotion on the East Coast so far this year. On this show is a tag team ladder match to crown them some Tag Team champions, which should be a fun spotfest for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully they’ll get more than the 70 people they got last time because as a true smart mark I’d hate to see the eight guys involved in a match like that put their bodies on the line for just a couple dozen people. Remember guys, the risks to your body shouldn’t outweigh the amount you get paid. With that said, here is the full card that we know about so far from their press release.
FILLERFILLERFILLERFILLER Burning Bridges vs Good Ol’Boys vs Natural Storm vs Split Personality 4 Team Ladder Match For The BLW World Tag Team Titles At BLW: Fighting Spirit, “Playboy” Jake Sawyer made his presence felt when he announced that the BLW World Tag Team titles would be decided in a four team ladder match. Few matches are as dangerous and career shortening as the ladder match, and with eight men all trying to reach the belts and bring down the gold for their respective teams, never have the stakes been so high. The Burning Bridges tag team hail from Japan and consist of former BHOTWG stars Dynamite Narahashi and “Fuse” Hidekazu. The Good Ol’ Boys are one of the wildest teams in American pro wrestling and have been likened to the legendary McWade brothers in terms of their destructive capabilities. The team of Natural Storm are one of the brightest young teams anywhere in the world, having come through Rip Chord’s Mid-Atlantic Wrestling where they were two time tag champions in their own right. And lastly the team of Split Personality, Deano Machino and Insane Machine. This duo have competed in both the US and Japan and are among the most unpredictable teams anywhere in the world. Throw in a ladder and this match not only promises to be one to remember, it seems like one that will simply be unforgettable! This promises to be a classic battle of finesse against power but which of these two men will have what it takes to win this match and who is going to go home with a mark in the lose column? C-V-2 (Cameron Vessey & Casey Valentine) vs Remmy Skye & Frankie Perez This non-title match sees the reigning Coastal Zone Tag Team champions facing off against the young second generation duo of Cameron Vessey and Casey Valentine. C-V-2 will be looking to prove themselves as legitimate contenders to the tag team crown in BLW by upsetting the CZCW champions, but Skye and Perez have proven themselves to be an excellent team despite their very contrasting in ring styles. This match should be a classic tag team bout between two exciting young teams, with the winners going a long way to establish themselves on the tag team ladder in BLW. [IMG]http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/BLW%20not%20ECW/People/DazzlingDaveDiamond.jpg[/IMG] “Dazzling” Dave Diamond vs The Sensational Singh These two men met at Fighting Spirit but the match ended inconclusively when Singh’s personal trainer and skincare consultant stepped in on Singh’s behalf and instructed Singh to walk out of the match. This rematch was signed shortly after the show, so Diamond and Singh will once again meet in the BLW ring and hopefully we will see one man prove themselves to be the better wrestler. His opponent for the night is the highly dangerous Marc Speed, nicknamed “the Submission King” due to his clinical ability to finish people off with submission moves out of nowhere, much like his namesake Marcus Speed used to do with GAMMA before he retired from Mixed Martial Arts. Newton will be looking to pick up a major win in this match but he will have to do his best to avoid Speed’s submission skills for fear of having to make the dreaded choice: “Tap, nap or snap?” With potential appearances from other guys on the BLW roster including “Vintage” Steve Flash, “The V Man” Vin Tanner, Leper Messiah, “Mr XFW” Frankie Future, “Ace Express” Rick Sanders and many more, be sure to get your tickets to this event ahead of time. Tickets are available from BorderLineWrestling.com or from The Riot Act Club, New York and are available for as little as $6! It's hard to start a new promotion and have people know what's going on so it takes a while to build people up and I'm determined to do that while somehow not burning out anyone who is reading or myself. I've started out from a very small promotion so I've got a lot of leeway with what I can get away with in terms of show ratings while still being able to improve my overness too. Also means I can push people that others overlook, which is something I always enjoy doing since it means I don't have to many preconceptions to get past when people are reading my characters. Ah BLW... how I've missed writing for you. :)

Missed the last round, so must make sure I get my predictions in this time Burning Bridges (“Fuse” Hidekazu & Dynamite Narahashi) vs Good Ol’ Boys (Thimbleby Langton & Wooton Fitzpaine) vs Natural Storm (D.C. Rayne & Eddie Howard) vs Split Personality (Deano Machino & Insane Machine) in a ladder match for the BLW World Tag Team titles Wouldn't surprise me if any of these teams came away with the victory, but in my opinion Split Personality are the most talented duo. “The Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton vs “The Submission King” Marc Speed Could go either way again, but after losing the tag match I'd like to see DWN get the win, as he's a young talent with bags of potential. “Dazzling” Dave Diamond vs The Sensational Singh Singh to get the win via cheating, leading to a blow-off match. C-V-2 (Cameron Vessey & Casey Valentine) vs Remmy Skye & Frankie Perez C-V-2 with time could be a very good team, but I can't CZCW agreeing to their current tag team champions being 'jobbed out' to the young duo, not that Skye and Perez are exactly a pair of old timers. “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman vs “The Bulldozer” Brandon Smith There seems to be a sort of down on his luck desperation to Kingman, he seems desperate to recruit C-V-2 to be his back up, so I see him losing to the young powerhouse that is BBS.

The extra promotion for the big tag ladder match seems to have worked and there are actually a few rows of fans in tonight so the floorspace around the venue actually looks fairly crowded. Good news for everyone involved really as Christian Black takes his position at ringside to call tonight’s action. Black: “Welcome everyone to Border-Line Wrestling’s third ever event where tonight we will crown BLW World Tag Team champions as 4 of the best tag teams in professional wrestling square off in a tag team ladder match in tonight’s main event!! But before that, we have a number of exciting matches that will show off even more of the talent depth that BLW has including a man making his debut tonight. He is known as “The Submission King” and hails from…” ”The Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton vs ”The Submission King” Marc Speed The tone of this match is set early as on the very frist exchange Marc Speed manages to roll Newton into a kneebar that has him clearly in pain, although at least Newton gets to the ropes to break the move. Speed doesn’t waste time gloating about it though as Newton looks up at him, rather he gets straight back to his shoot wrestling stance ready to lock up again. Now aware of the threat, Newton tries to keep some distance between himself and Speed, evading takedown attempts and throwing some long range kicks as he tries to work out how to avoid submission attempts. Newton’s first success comes when he manages to hook an arm and gets Speed into a grounded hammerlock where he begins to work on the arm as Speed looks for a way to counter his way out the hold. A few minutes elapse as both men slowly get to their feet, with Newton still working the arm with an arm wringer. Speed grunts as he receives a couple of elbows to his shoulder but as Newton goes for a third Speed breaks free and catches Newton’s arm, quickly wrestling him to the mat by the arm. Newton tries to struggle free as Speed goes for an armlock and manages to roll over but Speed counters the counter with a cross arm breaker. Newton tries to get his hands together to counter the move but Speed locks it in deep and after a few more seconds of struggling Newton taps out. He’s clearly been running for a while and as a result is slightly short of breath as he talks. Smart: “Hi everyone! I.. I’ve just found out some awesome news that I… need to tell you. Well, you know tonight’s… ladder match, yeah? Well, I know who’s going to win it! Do you… want me to tell you?” Several of the fans in the audience shout out “No!” while others just generally boo Smart for the annoying spoiler that he tries to be. Smart looks out at the crowd and points. Smart: “I think that guy over there said yes, so I’m going to tell him. If you don’t want to hear, then cover your ears now. The winner of tonight’s ladder match will be…” Playboy: “Mark Smart, I’m not sure where you get your information from but I wish I knew so that I could make myself even more money than I already have.” “Playboy” Jake Sawyer looks sharp as always in his crisp suit, with a microphone in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. As Smart looks on from the ring, Sawyer takes a long sniff of his glass of wine and a small taste that he swishes around his mouth for a moment before looking around for something then swallowing. Playboy: “A fine vintage from my vaults, almost seems a shame to drink it while I have to do this. Mark Smart, there have been complaints about you and the way you keep interfering during BLW events. Now, I like to keep a loose rein on things around here so I’m going to let the boys sort this out for themselves. Rather than punish you myself, I’m going to put you in a match tonight.” Smart: “A match? But I’m not scheduled for a match!” Playboy: “An astute observation, young man. I can see that you are slowly learning one of the key things about wrestling, a fact that all promoters everywhere make use of. The phrase… card subject to change. So tonight Mr Smart, you will be having a match against one of the men who would so dearly like to get his hands on you. Sir, you may make your entrance now.” ”The Insider” Mark Smart vs Leper Messiah Smart doesn’t looks shocked when he sees the enormous Leper Messiah step through the curtain with a sick smile on his face, taking the microphone from Sawyer on his way past. Messiah slowly stalks his way to the ring… Messiah: “Hello, Mark Smart. I’m so very, very happy to see you. You see, I’ve been wondering about a few things. Like… how difficult is it to break some of the little bones in your little fingers.” Smart: “You don’t scare me! You can’t intimidate me!” Messiah: “I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries about snakes lately, about how they wrap themselves around their victims before squeezing the life out of them, breaking every bone in their ribcage so that the shards of bone shred the internal organs.” Smart: “Stop it! You don’t scare me! Messiah: “I saw a circus once, with a contortionist. She could bend so much and it didn’t seem to hurt her at all. I wonder… how far can you bend? I wonder… how much further you could bend if I helped you…” Messiah slides slowly into the ring, crawling slowly on all fours towards Smart who cowers in the corner as Messiah advances on him. Messiah: “I only know how to break one hundred and ninety eight if the two hundred and twelve bones in a human body, but I’m always open to learn new things… if you’d like to help me.” Smart: “I submit!!” Smart can’t take it any more, yelling at Referee McArthuer as he jumps out of the ring as Messiah takes a swipe at Mark’s leg, narrowly missing. McArthuer doesn’t seem to know what to do at first but after a few moments he edges over to Messiah and quickly raises his hand in victory before ducking out of the ring himself just in case Messiah decides to move his focus. As Smart disappears out the front door, Sawyer shakes his head and heads to the back with his wine. The Sensational Singh’s music plays and he comes out with his manager Dermot O’Logical, but in Dermot’s hand is a microphone… Dermot: “Ladies and gentlemen, tonight I have been given the honour by The Sensational Singh to talk to you and to share with you some of the advice that I give to him on a regular basis. The Sensational Singh has allowed me, at no cost to you, to help you all live your lives better through the disciplines I have learned over the years, the same disciplines that helps The Sensational Singh remain Sensational wherever he goes.” In the ring Diamond doesn’t look at all happy as he is forced to wait for his match to begin. He tries to yell at Singh to hurry up but Singh stands behind Dermot as he keeps addressing the crowd. Dermot: “You see ladies and gentlemen, one of the reasons that The Sensational Singh is better than you is because he has an intensive skin care regime that not only helps him look sensational, but it helps him feel sensational too. You see, as you may not know, skin care is the key to physical fitness. Without proper skincare, excess skin cells may remain on the surface of the skin potentially leading to the clogging of pores and the creation of spots and blackheads. In turn, these spots and blackheads make it harder for you to sweat properly while also making you look terrible, making it almost impossible to train to your fullest potential as sweat is blocked from escaping, making you able to train less hard and due to spots, more self aware of how you look.” Dermot’s longwinded talk is applauded by Singh in the background as the crowd really start to lay into Dermot, booing him with increased vigour the longer he talks. Dermot: “So ladies and gentlemen, in order to become the best athlete you can possibly be you must always remember to exfoliate that horrible dead skin away at every opportunity. Personally, I recommend at least once every hour for maximum effectiveness. Then, you must remember to cleanse to make sure no other outside contaminants get into your pores. And lastly, but certainly not least importantly, you must remember to tone! Toning tightens your pores, making you look happier, healthier and younger while ensuring that sweat can still escape freely but also blocking any contaminants from entering you. So remember ladies and gentlemen, exfoliate, cleanse, tone! Say it with me! Exfoliate! Cleanse! Tone! Exfoliate! Cleanse! Tone!” The crowd are really getting on Dermot’s case now as he tries to get them to chant with him completely unsuccessfully. A small chant of “Shut the F*** Up!” goes through the club making Dermot unhappy as he turns to Singh and tries to get him to make them stop. Singh takes the microphone from Dermot and the crowd slowly quieten down for him to talk as Diamond paces the ring in anticipation of his match. Singh: “I knew you wouldn’t listen, you are all too ignorant to listen to true words of wisdom from a truly great man. I cannot force to on the path to happiness, I can only try to set you on the right path and hope you follow. I have tried to guide you enough for tonight though, so now I must address you “Dazzling” Dave Diamond. Tonight, you were scheduled to face me, The Sensational Singh, in a wrestling match. Sadly, I have ben advised by my doctors and trainers that I am not able to compete tonight as I am not at one hundred percent.” The crowd boo Singh’s announcement as Diamond can be seen mouthing a few cursewords in the ring about The Sensational Singh. Singh: “However, I would hate to deprive you, the average paying wrestling fan, of a match. So tonight, rather than seeing me defeat the dastardly Dave Diamond, you will instead have the honour of seeing my personal trainer and skin care consulant, Dermot O’Logical, show dastardly Dave Diamond his place and give him the beating he so richly deserves after what he done to me two weeks ago!” [IMG]http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/BLW%20not%20ECW/People/DazzlingDaveDiamond.jpg[/IMG] ”Dazzling” Dave Diamond vs Dermot O’Logical w/The Sensational Singh Dermot looks shocked by Singh’s announcement and tries to say that he isn’t ready for a match only for Singh to tell him he has faith in him. Even as Dermot gets into the ring he is trying to get out of the match only for Diamond to come charging at him with a clubbing blow to the back which soon turns into a barrage of rights and lefts in the corner, with Diamond clearly filled with energy after having to listen to them talk for so long. The match progresses with Dermot constantly trying to hide in the ropes and evade Diamond’s punches while Singh yells encouragement from ringside. Singh and Diamond keep locking eyes as Diamond continues to lay a beating on Dermot, whipping him like the proverbial government mule. Diamond begins working his corner whips followed by the big corner clotheslines, nailing three in quick succession to set Dermot up for a mudhole stomping in the corner as Singh watches from ringside with a look of mild concern on his face. Dermot’s attempts to mount an offense are little more than weak punches that barely connect as Diamond punishes him hard with stiff rights and the odd chop for emphasis. Diamond is clearly starting to have fun with Dermot as he winds up a big punch in comedy style only to nail Dermot with a huge slap that sends him reeling to the floor. Dermot tries to get Singh to help him but Singh backs away as Diamond stalks in and locks eyes again. Diamond lights up Dermot’s chest with some massive chops in front of the fans on the floor before rolling him in. He follows in himself as the referee checks on Dermot, allowing Singh to grab Dermot’s ankle for the distraction. Diamond turns and tries to hit Singh but Singh narrowly evades the blow, but Dermot quickly grabs Diamond from behind and rolls him up with a handful of tights and picks up a shock pinfall victory! WINNER: Dermot O’Logical RATING: D- The crowd and Diamond can’t believe it as Dermot rolls out of the ring, celebrating like he just won the SWF World title at The Supreme Challenge. Singh raises Dermot’s hand as he locks eyes with Diamond, and Diamond lets it be known that this is not over between the two of them. Not by a long shot. Much like last time the crowd start a chant of “Dad Can’t Wrestle” aimed (presumably) towards Casey and he elects to start this match in the ring to prove a point. The match itself was a pretty open back and forth affair, with both teams getting periods in control. Perez threw some vicious kicks that got the crowd on their feet and Skye showed up some great agility to escape from the youngsters, but the best periods of tag team cohesion came from C-V-2 as they worked the tags and bumped Skye all over the place. But there wasn’t to be any luck for C-V-2 in this one, as when Perez got the hot tag things just stopped going their way. Stiff kick after stiff kick knocked the wind out of C-V-2 and just when it looked like they might have evaded some offense Perez vault back from the second rope with a spinning roundhouse kick that almost decapitated Vessey. With Valentine left to fend for himself against the CZCW champs, he quickly succumbed, first to the Perez Plunge ’08 that Perez recently debuted in CZCW, a spinning fishermen’s bomb (Ki Krusher) and then to the Skye Dive (Swanton) from Remmy Skye for the pinfall. Once again Vessey is helping his partner get to his feet after being on the receiving end of the worst of the punishment as Kingman approaches. Kingman: “I saw you guys out here again tonight, another good performance where you just couldn’t quite get the job done, figuratively speaking. But you guys are young, you haven’t had much experience at this level so you can’t be expected to have that ring awareness that veterans get. You know, I see a lot of myself in you two.” Vessey: “Look, dude. We’ve just lost a match and we’re not in the mood to talk right now. In fact, if you are going to start comparing us to you just because we’re second generation wrestlers too, then we don’t want to be near you.” Kingman: “Listen to me!! I mean, please listen. Wrestling is in my blood, I’ve been in the wrestling industry for a long time…” Vessey: “We know dude. “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman, son of the legendary “Crippler” Ray Kingman. Dude… you’ve been in wrestling for a long time but lets face it… you’ve achieved nothing and you’ll never ever be as good as your dad was.” Valentine gives Vessey a look that suggests he probably shouldn’t have said that but Vessey just shrugs his shoulders. Kingman stands stonily silent as he looks down at the mat but we can see the pressure building inside him. By the time C-V-2 have disappeared backstage and “The Bulldozer” Brandon Smith has made his entrance, Kingman looks absolutely furious… RATING: E+ “No Gimmick Needed” Barry Kingman vs “The Bulldozer” Brandon Smith … and flies through the ropes with a suicide dive onto the unsuspecting Bulldozer. Kingman is relentless, following up with a barrage of punches to Dozer’s head and upper body before Dozer uses his size and power advantage to ram Kingman’s back into the edge of the ring apron. Dozer rinses and repeats with a couple more before cleaning Kingman’s clock with a big clothesline on the floor. Dozer rolls Kingman into the ring but Kingman gets back on the offense as he shows some fire and lays some finesse-free stomps onto Dozer before he can get back to his feet. With the expected gameplans thrown well and truly out the window the match comes down to Kingman’s fury vs Dozer’s ability to weather any storm thrown at him. Dozer outweights his opponent by a clear 60 pounds and makes them count as he absorbs some vicious chops from Kingman in order to get in close with some powerful knees of his own and slam Kingman from there. Kingman himself is trying to no sell as much offense as he can but Dozer’s heavy duty slams and an overhead belly to belly suplex that Dozer doesn’t even fall backwards to deliver have Kingman in serious trouble. Kingman retreats to the ropes and the corner as Dozer puts his American football background to use, getting into a 3 point stance position and waiting for Kingman to turn around as he stands back turned to Dozer. Dozer charges at Kingman who sidesteps and sends Dozer chest first into the turnbuckle he had been stealthily removing the cover from while Dozer was stalking him and rolls him up with a school boy, and even then he is barely able to keep Dozer’s shoulders down long enough for referee McArthuer to make the three count. Fuse Hidekazu and Dynamite Narahashi entered last waving the Japanese flag which raised the ire of Wooton Fitzpaine and Thimbleby Langton who were playing the patriot card, waving an American flag on their way to the ring. With the ladders outside the ring all four teams began to duke it out. Eddie Howard and D.C. Rayne are the first guys to use the two ladders, bringing them into the ring and stealing spots from the Marx Brothers as they lay everyone out. Insane Machine and Deano Machino recover enough to prevent them climbing the ladders though and the two teams begin slugging it out. The match, as expected, goes from big spot to big spot. At various points through the match The Good Ol’ Boys clobber Dynamite with a ladder lariat on the floor and the catch Hidekazu as he’s pushed off the ladder inside the ring with a ladder lariat for him too. Later Wooton Fitzpaine throws D.C. Rayne from inside the ring to most of the rest of the competitors on the floor. Shortly after that Insane Machine nails Wooton with a Termination Kick (superkick to the back of the neck) that sends Fitzpaine to the floor, sets the ladder up leaning on the ropes and runs up the ladder executing a huge dive to the recovering group on the floor. Chants of “Holy S***!” continue for some time after that one. As everyone recovers from the massive cluster of carnage on the floor things hit the final stretch. The Good Ol’ Boys begin rearranging furniture and steal a table from the concession stand to take into the ring. The floor sees brawls with the rest of the teams splitting in pairs. Eddie Howard briefly grabs the Transgenderizer (testicular claw) on Dynamite Narahashi only to be gouged in the eyes and then dropped with a Narahashi Cutter onto an abandoned chair, allowing Narahashi to interupt an attempt to grab the belts from Wooton Fitzpaine. Hidekazu pulls Langton out the ring and a brief brawl ensues before Langton gets the upperhand through sheer power and drives Fuse into the floor with a brutal Shock To The System (Dominator). Dynamite shows his raw toughness by standing toe to toe with Wooton Fitzpaine on the ladder as the two men try to reach up for the BLW World Tag Team titles. Langton sees his partner brawling and gets back into the ring just as Narahashi gets the advantage but Narahashi sees it coming and staves off the attack with a couple of kicks to the head. Langton seems determined not to let it get to him though and keeps pressing forward, not seeing Insane Machine creep up behind him. Machine snaps off a second Termination Kick and sends Langton crashing into the ladder, in turn sending Fitzpaine and Dynamite over the top rope and through the ringside announce table prompting another “Holy S***!” chant. Machine tries to climb the ladder but is intercepted by D.C. Rayne who gets under Machine and drops him with an electric chair drop. Rayne starts to climb the ladder only for Deano Machino to recover from the floor and start climbing up the other side desperately. Rayne reaches for the belts but is cut off by a shot to the gut from Machino. Rayne lays some punches down as he tries to maintain balance and reach but Machino is resilient and manages to climb another couple of steps so that both men are precariously balanced on the ladder. Both men trade blows but it’s Machino who gets the better of them as he slams Rayne’s head off the top of the ladder and hooks him up into the Cradle To The Grave (Cradle Piledriver). The crowd gasp as Machino falls back off the ladder with Rayne and the ring shakes violently with the impact, even knocking over the ladder. After a few moments the only sign of life in the ring is from Insane Machine who has enough of his wits around him to reposition the ladder and slowly start to climb up it. The broken bodies around ringside stir but are powerless to stop Machine’s climb to the top of the ladder and as he unhooks the belts the bell rings.
Fantastic detail, especially on the promos. Great work, don't burn yourself out however! Just one quick note though: Casey Valentine is Peter's nephew, not son :)
Well that depends on what diary you read. Might be that Casey Valentine isn't his name really, he might be called Darryl for all we know. ;) No chance of burnout here yet, I've been starved of writing anything online for so long that I'm brimming with more ideas than I can shake a very big stick at. It's just a case of finding the time to get everything on paper as it's the matches that are more likely to be repetitive after a while. Specially since I've got no idea how to describe half the moves I want to use from the indy scene. Got to make things easy to understand afterall. :) Next preview will probably be up on Friday at the earliest as I'm working and spending time with my girlfriend tomorrow. The two things aren't the same thing, just in case you were wondering.

From: ProWrestlingHits.com/IndyNews By: Robert Greene
Card For BLW: Full Speed Ahead BLW are really going all out to get their name on the wrestling map as they now move on to promote their 4th card of 2008 before many of the smaller indy companies have even held their third. But then, they have decided that 2 shows a month is worth doing in order to build up their reputation and have some flow, something I definitely agree with as 1 show every 4 weeks makes it very difficult to build up storylines or characters. So kudos to BLW on trying this, lets just hope they don’t end up broke like DAVE did. With that said, here is the card they have released for Full Speed Ahead so far…
“Shooter” Sean Deeley © vs “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota For The BLW World Championship After a tremendous first title defense against “The Amazing” Jacob Jett last month, the Shooter has agreed to defend the title against one of the five men who also competed in the match to decide the first ever champion, “Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota. The mysterious man from the Orient has been pulling out classic matches every time he steps into a BLW ring and he seems to get better with each match he competes in. Will The Shooter be able to combat Ota’s unique attack style? Or will the Super Ninja sneak out of Full Speed Ahead with the BLW World Championship? Split Personality (Deano Machino & Insane Machine) © vs Natural Storm (Eddie Howard & D.C. Rayne) For The BLW World Tag Team Titles The newly crowned BLW World Tag Team champions have barely had any time to recover from the epic ladder match at Brothers In Arms… but then, the same can be said for their opponents the Natural Storm. The final moments of the ladder match saw D.C. Rayne hit with the Cradle To The Grave (Cradle Piledriver) off the ladder and it remains to be seen how fit he, or any of the other contestants in this match are. With the BL W World Tag Team titles on the line this match could go either way!! Tanner and Flash have both taken exception to the way that The Truth have been going about business and have taken time away from the BLW Championship hunt to make an example of Sanders and Future. With these 4 combustable elements split into two singles matches we might finally be able to have the decisive finishes that these men need to end things, but with the wildcard Citizen X sure to be around things may not be so clear. [IMG]http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/BLW%20not%20ECW/People/DazzlingDaveDiamond.jpg[/IMG] “Dazzling” Dave Diamond vs The Sensational Singh Ever since The Sensational Singh walked out of their match at Fighting Spirit, Diamond has been trying to get his hands on him for a fight to the finish. It looked like we would see that happen last month but Singh said he was unable to compete based on advice from his doctors and trainers so Dermot O’Logical competed in his place, even picking up the win due to Singh’s interference. This month Diamond looks to once again get his hands on Singh and prove to himself and everyone in BLW that he is the better wrestler and, more importantly, the better man. “The Bronzed God” Zeus Maxmillion vs “The Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton Davis Wayne Newton is a much hyped youngster with the world of wrestling at his feet, although so far in BLW he has yet to find that momentum and start his winning ways. At Full Speed Ahead he hopes to finally break that duck as he steps in the ring against the debuting Zeus Maxmillion. The man known as “The Bronze God” cuts an impressive figure in the ring but is known for his vanity and pompous nature. Will DWN finally pick up the win he so richly deserves or will Zeus make his BLW debut in the style to which he has become accustomed? Also at BLW: Full Speed Ahead will be “Playboy” Jake Sawyer, the man who seems to be in charge of the organisation. Rumour has it that he has a major announcement to make regarding BLW’s next show and that it will have to be heard to be believed. For the chance to see BLW live visit BorderLineWrestling.com or go to The Riot Act Club for tickets. With all the name already listed guaranteed to be at the event and the always unpredictable nature of BLW shows you don’t want to miss out on your chance to see the very best wrestling action in New York.
