Chess Mainiacs character could use a little freshening up

Recommended Posts

A statement i see often, sure the wrestlers name my change but at the end of the day the message is the same. Your character is being played out, but how how do i freshen up said character the sentence is so vague and annoying, and sometimes i change one thing and it works wonders for years like a heel turn other times a turn doesn't work at all, other times its a 6 month gimmick retooling THAT STILL doesn't work, whats the best why to go about freshening up a character... also a side inquiry any suggestions on what to do with chess maniac im hoping to make him the next big thing withing the next 2-3 years game time so i dont wanna screw this up.

It means his gimmick is wearing thin with the fans. Now, if you turn him, that would constitute a change to his character, would it not? If you change his gimmick, you're basically changing his character directly, yes? Generally speaking, when a message references character, it's referring to gimmick. When the message references role, it's referring to disposition. On occasion, you can get workers who are getting stale in both categories but you'll only get one message. Best thing to do would be to keep using the character for a bit to see if the message changes. That way you can see if one or the other or both changes are needed. The biggest problem with this entire subsystem is the fact that people panic the first time they see the message and think something drastic needs to be done right now. That's not the case at all. When it is the case, you'll know it (you'll start seeing words like "desperately" used).

Hmm, something I've wondered recently is when doing a turn and gimmick change, how does the turn affect the gimmick rating? Because in the segment's RA notes it'll say "so and so is now using X gimmick. It has received and initial B- rating" but you haven't turned them yet. After you then click "Handle Turns" and complete that turn, will the gimmick rating then be completely re-calculated? I assume it is but was just wondering if the initial pre-turn gimmick rating has any affect on it.
Not sure if it's always gimmick related...on my game duBois needs freshening up but his gimmick is still stable with a B rating...
Yeah, when you first get the message, it's like a warning like, "Hey, we just want to let you know, it's not a big del yet, but you should really start thinking about a new gimmick for this guy"
