BurningHamster
Sorry if something along these lines has been posted already, I am sure it has but couldn't find anything which gave me an answer. Simply I want to know, why and how can I stop AI controlled promotions from rapidly dropping in size while in a war relationship? This is for my 1996 mod and WCW and WWF both start as international but usually very swiftly drop to cult and don't really seem to ever bounce back. Obviously this is something I would like to remedy. Any suggestions or any reason why they skip national on the way down?
Bull
i think if one promotion loses a national battle or finishes last then they automatically drop to cult and have to stay there for 6 months also i think there has to be 3 companys involved for there to be a national battle if your saying both companys are droping then im not sure whats going on other than them putting on bad show and the indutry is down. Malioc
Losing National Battles just cost you popularity. Companies do NOT automatically fall to cult. It's ALL about popularity and therefore importance in the regions. Also, 2 promotions don't "fight". WWF and WCW are probably just TOO weak in your game, Hamster. Maybe the mod isn't very well balanced? As far as the "national" goes. They skip "national", because they fall under C+ importance in some regions, while the internation criteria are still fulfilled. - Maybe you should take a read in TEWs rule book to figure out how everything works?! BurningHamster
There's a rule book? But yeah, I think you guys are right. There are some major balance issues at this point since much of this mod was originally created in TEW 07 and things are a little different in 08, which I am just getting around to testing and balancing out. I'm just a bit confused because even after bumping both promotions popularity up a bit, they still seem to drop to cult within about the same timespan. I must be missing something. I Rule Me
what kind of cards are they putting on. A couple of lousy cards when they're high popularity will drop them down.
FINisher
Read the help files. :) When promotions are at war, the effects of the War are increased. Therefore the promotion that is the #1 at the end of the month will get more and more popular (than it would without the war), and the last one will lose much more than what it would lose if they weren't at war. Also this applies to Working aggreement pacts also; No effect will be taken if the two promotion are in the Battle.
National Battle National battles occur in each game area on the final day of each month. Promotions are automatically sucked into a national battle if they are based in the area and are of National, International or Global size. Promotions who are based in different areas can also become involved, but only if they are both at National (or above) size already and are also popular enough in the area that they would be National (or above) if they were based there. Promotions who have only just jumped to National have a one month ‘warming up’ period during which they are ineligible to be involved. Touring promotions are only eligible for months when they are on tour. National Battles only occur if three or more promotions are eligible in total for that month. When a battle happens, the promotions who are involved are ranked by the quality of the best show they have produced during the previous month. There is then a “domino effect” of damage. The promotion that comes top lowers the popularity of all the promotions that came below it in each region of that particular game area. The damage done is based upon whether they were more or less popular in each region, and whether a relationship between the promotion existed (a war relationship increases the damage, a friendly relationship means that no damage is done). The winning promotion can also steal a small amount of prestige if it began with less. The “domino effect” then continues as the promotion that came second damages all the promotions below it, then the promotion that came third damages all the promotions below it, and so on. Therefore the promotion that comes last gets damaged multiple times, and so will be in the worst shape afterward. The end result is that it would be very difficult for any game area to support more than two major promotions at once, and so the national battles become a dogfight that usually ends with the loser(s) ending up falling back down to Cult size. Regional Battle Regional battles work almost identically to national battles. Each region in the game world is checked, and a promotion becomes eligible if it fits two criteria; they must be of Small or Regional size, and have between an F grade and a D+ (inclusive; so a D+ grade means you are eligible) popularity in that region. Please note that it is raw popularity that is measured, not importance. A promotion does not have to have run a show in the region to be eligible. As before, touring promotions are not eligible unless they toured during the month. The battle takes the same “domino effect” format as the national battle. Unlike national battles, promotion relationships do not have any impact upon the damage done.
