great work Emmy. It's awesome to see someone else interested in MMA and the role of men and women. I'm actually working on a entire subject next semester at university on gender and women's mma. If your interested in female MMA, go to www.fightergirls.com Josh Barnett, Roxi, Rosi, Kelly Kolbold, Erin Toughhill, Shayna Bazler, Debi Purcell... (and me! ;)) all hang out at the forum there and have awesome chats about women's mma. Even some fights are organised there. Interesting debates about marketing etc also go on there.

I'd like to see an increase in popularity for women's MMA in the states. Not just for the fighters themselves, but for another reason as well. Due to the disparity in weight and bone density/muscle mass between women and men, knock outs are less likely to happen in women's mma, which means the grappling disciplines are more viable, in particular, there's catch wrestling, which isn't as well known in the states.

It'll have been Elite XC on CBS. There was 2 women's matches, but apparently the Gina Carano-Kelly Kobald Gavin fight was spectacular. I havent caught it yet, since they don't air in the UK, but I will check it out soon. Fas are going nuts about it though. The second female fight, Cris Cyborg and a Japanese lady who's name escapes me was apparently great too. Cyborg would probably give Gina a run for her money, if the fight were to happen.

Hi again, Just thought some of you might be interested in my newest story: http://www.sportales.com/Martial-Arts/The-Fall-of-Elite-XC.309233 Fel free to comment on the story if you want to. Just so you know my backstory, Im a writer but I haven't been published in many places (Im only 23, so Im still trying). I write fantasy and sci-fi short stories too, but none of those have been submitted to publishers yet. I don't get paid for the articles posted on the sports site, save for the revenue I generate through adverts on there. I write for the love of writing, nothing else, and I'd appreciate any feedback anyone wants to leave for me Thanks again guys Emmy
