[/CENTER] The 36-year old Gaines lost control of his vehicle and crashed to a building with high speed. An ambulance came quickly and paramedics tried their best to rescue Gaines but he died on the way to the hospital. He was a well known brawler during the 80's but was forced to retire after almost dying in a motorcycle accident in 1987. Ironicly tomorrow would have been the 10 year "anniversary" of the first accident. Gaines worked as a road agent after retiring in '87 and journeyd the indies for a while until he was signed by DAVE, but never got to work under Phil Viberts full guiding as Vibert announced yesterday that he had taken over the promotion. Phil Vibert and rest of DAVEs management aswell as the wrestlers are now in a state of shock amidst the East Coast Wars, as they have lost a valuable asset to their roster. After few minutes Martin gets back to his feet and hits couple lariats but Tyler quickly takes him to the ground once again with a beautiful hip toss. Finally Martin counters Tylers submission moves as he kicks Tyler and sends him crashing to the barbed wire. Martin then drags Tyler across the barbed wire ropes, inflicting more damage to the Traditionalist. Martin connects with a backdrop, and then leaves the ring to get a table. When he finally gets back to the ring, Tyler attacks him viciously, striking him with his elbows and knees. This goes back and forth for a while as they keep hitting each other with different strikes and moves, and getting a few near falls over one another. The match ends in in 9:35 with Johnny Martin hitting an improvised 180 degree Twist On The Rocks (Slingshot Suplex) trough a table to get the pinfall over Eric Tyler in this solid non-title match. After the match Johnny Martin lays the title in the middle of the ring and signs for anyone to step forward, clearly issuing an open challenge for Back In Black. That compromise on the war situation was really unexceptional from Phil. He was ruthless and wanted to dominate the whole East Coast but yet he didn't want to seen as a bad guy. The Wolverine dominates the early going in the match, until Martin avoids a running tackle and Wolverine flies on to the barbed wire, and finally Martin gets the advantage. Martin goes out of the ring to get a steel chair, but Emma Extreme hits a low blow (I actually typed "a blow job" at first. I'm serious). The Wolverine then drops from the ring and throws Martin to the steelsteps and starts pounding his head on them. Martin is badly bruiser and battered as Wolverine throws him back to the ring and gets a bag of thumbtacks before he follows Martin. They start trading blows until Martin connects with a brainbuster, but Wolverine doesn't seem to be feeling any pain as the animal bounces right back to his feet and hits a brutal lariat and starts roaring in the middle of the ring. Wolverine gets the bag and spreads all the tacks on the mat, when suddenly Martin comes from behind and tries a school boy roll but only gets a two count! Wolverine tries to hit The Maul (Mafia Kick) but misses, and Martin lifts Wolverine up and does the Twist On The Rocks (Slingshot Suplex), first dropping Wolverine on top of the barbed wire ropes (!!), then lifting him up and slamming him hard on top of the thumbtacks!! 1.. 2.. 3!! Johnny Martin wins in 11.41!! Martin makes defence number 1 of his DAVE Extreme title. What a great and brutal match!! Martin and Tyler circle around each other for a while, then simultaneously go out of the ring to quickly get the ladders. When they come back to the ring, they ram the ladders against each other with either one getting the advantage. Finally Tyler throws the ladder right to Martin face and starts pounding Martin with the ladder. Tyler sets up the other ladder to the middle of the ring and starts climbing up, only for Martin to knock him down. Martin gets the upper hand with couple clotheslines, and a shoulder block. He tries to suplex Tyler on top of the ladder, but Tyler blocks, and finally counters the suplex and does one of his own to Martin. Tyler sets up the ladder in the corner and starts climbing, Martin is still on the ground. Tyler jumps from the ladder, trying a senton, but Martin gets out of the way just in time! Martin puts on the ladder on top of Tyler, trapping him under the ladder. Martin starts to climb while Tyler is trapped. Just as Martin is merely touching the title, Tyler pushes the ladder over and Martin drops from the ring! A silence surrounds the arena as Martin landed really bad on his side. Tyler gets the ladder up once again and starts slowly climbing. The crowd is chanting for Martin to get up, as he trying to get back to his feet. Tyler is in the middle, climbing, slowly. Martin rises to the apron, and to the turnbuckle! Tyler has almost got the title! Martin jumps from the turnbuckle! A dropkick! Tyler crashes down with the ladder, Martin drops on his back! The two men slowly crawl to the middle of the ring and together set up the ladder and start dragging themselves up! Then Datsun came behind of Wolverine and hit the Patriot Press, but Tanner came and broke the pin. Datsun and Tanner brawled for a while, until Morgan came back to the ring and started throwing the two wrestlers with beautiful suplexes around the ring. As JD was waiting for them to get up, Emma Extreme climbed up to the apron and smashed Morgan with a chair, providing distraction for the Wolverine who turned Morgan inside out and upside down with The Maul and won the match! She drags the referee from the ring, trying to seduce the referee Michael Bull! The Wolverine hits the ring and tries to hit The Maul on Martin, but misses as Martin sidesteps! Tanner has the chair and swungs it wildly towards Martin, but instead hits The Wolverine! Tanner threws a tantrum as nothing is going his way! Johnny Martin comes from behind, locks him up in the suplex! Twist On The Rocks! No! Tanner counters the suplex and goes for his own, V For Victory! Blocked! Lift after lift Martin and Tanner try do a suplex to one another, when The Wolverine comes running from the other side of the ring and tries to do The Maul on Martin, but Martin pushes Tanner in his way who gets blasted with The Maul! Even when you do - I don't think your diary needs it. It's snappy, to the point, and attractive. It doesn't have huge blocks of text that will chase people off. And yes, the match reports can be way too long for my taste even. I really liked the lenght I used when doing WEXXV main matches, especially in the end of the diary, Seiji Jimbo vs. The Pisschrist Ironman match for example. Getting in and reading an essay on the wristlock into a fireman's carry will tend to just force people away. Also, give us predictions to do! Martin and Datsun on the other hand just flat out failed being a tag team which put them in a bad position during the match. The match ended in total chaos like Johnny had predicted, as he had to break up Datsun pinfall on Tanner after Datsun did his Patriot Press. Datsun started shouting at Martin for breaking up his pin, taunting Johnny for not wanting to face him in a title match. While this all was going on, Morgan and Tanner jumped from behind and got the advantage, but the same thing happened to them as they could not let each other make the pinfall! The match changed into a fatal four way match as everyone was hitting everyone, wanting to get the pinfall! The fans were quite confused of all this going on, as they didn't quite know who to cheer for as faces were beating up faces and Morgan and Tanner battled it out aswell. In the end after everyone hit their finishing moves, Vin Tanner hit the V For Victory to Datsun while Martin and Morgan were outside. Vin Tanner wins the match and is now the new #1 contender!!
