James Casey Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 In my current game, I've been keeping a close eye on various wrestlers with a view to signing them up as I rise - no different to anyone else, I'm sure. What I'm struggling with is aligning a worker's status (Independent Star, Relative Unknown etc.) with what size company he'll sign for. I know that the labels can cover a pretty wide range of popularity, and a worker may be over enough in other regions to tip his decision against me... But I'm also wondering how I've managed to get one Bumfhole (Randy, 2k per) and not the other (Zimmy, 900 per on trade to CGC - and why'd he sign with them and not me). Presumably worker personalities play into it to an extent, but is there a ready corrolation between a worker's 'rating' (for want of a better word) and the size of company he will work for?
Kainlock Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I know when I run a local fed no one above a D poularity will give me the time of day. I think it would be great if someone could figure out the threshold for poulartiy depending on the size of your company.
Condors Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 at Regional I belive guys with C popularity will give you the not big enough at Cult I believe it is B+ popularity I am not sure of what the exact cut off are but there are expamples i have come across.
Thomnipotent Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 From my recent experience, starting a new promotion at Easy (Cult, 60% across the board in your home nation) will result in workers with B- pop and over giving you the classic 'you're too small, lame-face.'
Comradebot Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Some of it depends on the attitude of the worker. I know at Regional I have managed to signed people with C popularity, and at Cult I've sometimes had people with B popularity actually sign or resign, while others will tell you that you're not big enough for em. I THINK at Small the best you can get is D+ish people to sign up.
Pampero Firpo Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 It definitely depends on the worker. I started a local promotion with 0 popularity everywhere and 0 prestige, yet I was able to hire Grandmaster Phunk who had C- popularity everywhere in the U.S. (except HI & PR where he was D+). Other workers with less popularity turned me down, so there's more to the decision than worker popularity and company size.
