So I've never run a real world game on TEW 2008. I finally downloaded a real world mod that looks good and I was going to mess around with a WWE game. I'm just a bit concerned about the number of non-wrestling staff. From the McMahon family to the Spanish announcing crew to Mae Young... I could find regular uses for a few, but many would barely ever got on the air on a show. Which is similar to what they do in reality for many of them. I'm just concerned that if I only put Linda McMahon on air once every four months, she's going to get upset. So curious if there's some way to keep the extra backstage staff from getting unhappy?

Thats the problem with those WWE mods is that you have Hillbilly Jim as "staff" when thats not what the game was made for. If you notice in SWF you have what two or three road agents. Some announcers, some refs and your done. These real world mods strive to be TOO real at times and it screws with the function of the game.
I recommend creating a 1 minute angle called "Useless people get their meds", have 8 people show up on it and stick it dark time when you have a spare minute. Meds will keep them happy. :)
I thought of something like that. But then I didn't think that would really be any more "realistic" than either firing a bunch or even adjusting the mod to remove a bunch of those contracts.... I just don't see it. I just don't think TEW is meant to account for that degree of realism...

Mod makers tend to add staff that aren't accounted for in TEW, except as additional costs. We don't need most of the staff that are added. Writers, unless they appear on screen, should NOT be in a mod at all. Likewise, MOST of the personalities who make rare appearances should probably be set to retired workers with no active roles AND unemployed. They appear so rarely that they shouldn't be on the roster under normal circumstances, but SHOULD be in the database. As for Spanish announcers, they should be in the WWE. Anyone who could potentially work for another company somewhere down the line should be in the game somewhere. But they really are surplus to requirements in TEW terms just now, but only because there are different language versions of TV shows... which is something I also don't think is necessary in the game. Would be nice, but would also be excessive. So... meds seems like a handy thing to dole out if you need to. And short term contracts to those guys who appear rarely, if ever, on WWE TV.

At the same time, many are going to serve very little to no purpose in the game. I can't blame the mod makers at all for including them. If do I go forward with the WWE game, I'll probably edit a bunch of them to PPA contracts. That said, I'm not sure that a WWE game is really as appealing as I first thought. The more I look at the roster, the less I want to go forward with it. The first thought I had was to play a "as is" game, without trying to sign all the top caliber indy talent as is always so tempting. As soon as I started planning, I figured "maybe I'll sign one or two..." and then I'm planning to fill the ECW with them... I doubt I'd be able to have the restraint I'd need to play the WWE as I would want to...
