Great Moments in WMMA History (Lists yours here)

Note: I cheated by changing the cash amount in an editor to hire tons of fighters for both version. Pre-patch (just from memory) Org used: Furious Elite Matches (custom) Surprise reigns: 1. Oscar Gomez moves down to LHW and proceeds to beat the crap out of everyone to win the title before eventually retiring after going on a losing streak. 2. Tank Manu'a stayed as a past his prime mediocre striker who suddenly beat Shane Gilchrist, Gary McSweegen and Stafford Alois in a winning streak which earned him a shot at undefeated Rav Kapur which he KO'ed to win the title from and proceeds to defend it against former champion prior to Kapur, Stratos Papaianou and still defend it. Did not finish the game but at the time, he was #2 P4P with Fezzik on top. 3. Sarah Vaughan cleaned the FLW division until losing to a rematch with Vicki Summers and then proceeding to retire right after. Vicki Summers ended up cleaning the FLW division like Vaughan did, including avenging her losses to Rachel Mcguiness and winning the trilogy against Jenny DeNeuve. She would eventually lose her streak when Alpha-1 booked her against undefeated Romi Takahashi. Matt Serra ain't got nothing on me! Jacob Matthaus was a losing streak nobody until a win against a poor opponent in BCF led to management deciding to feed him to current champ Gary McSweegen when Matthaus suddenly the world by pulling an upset TKO victory on the highly touted HW Fighter. A win he will later top when FEM ran out of notable opponents for LHW champ Aleksei Chekhov who had ko'ed every great fighter in the division which put him in line to face the Fists of Death. Many fans thought that Matthaus 15 min. of fame would end there and in fact Blurcat analyzers gave Matthaus no chance at all and said he would need to pull something special and something special he did do as a dominating Chekhov was in line to retain his belt until Matthaus managed to sweep Chekhov in the 5th round to win by TKO. For Matthaus, he had defied history as he became the first ever fighter to hold both the BCF HW and FEM LHW title at the same time. It would all be over in the flash though as Matthaus would lose his FEM LHW title defense match against Percy Catcher which would culminate to a 9 fight losing streak where he also lost his rematch against McSweegen. From Chuck Liddell to Lyoto Machida "Fists of Death" Aleksei Chekhov was enjoying the limelight as the baddest man on the planet after the counter puncher have ko'ed every top fighter in the FEM LHW division including 1st round knock-outs of Percy Catcher, Jerry Bogdonovich and former champ Oscar Gomez. The sky would come crashing down on the #1 P4P LHW though as back to back losses to both Jacob Matthaus and a 1st round Knockout to Percy Catcher pushed him away from the FEM title picture. Looking to gain his momentum back, the fighter would win his GAMMA-booked match against Christopher Sharp but the win would come at a price as Chekhov suffered a major injury which would leave him sidelined from the sport for months. Meanwhile...the LHW scene was changing when then 3-1 Bill Brown shocked the world by winning a unanimous decision against LHW champ Percy Catcher. For Chekhov, his legacy was seemingly getting tarnished as the youngster would further proceed to add 3 more wins to his reign all against opponents Chekhov had previously dominated. For Chekhov, it seems that he would never regain his former glory back as he won by unanimous decision for the first time in his career from his comeback fight. For fans of the knockout artist, it seemed that the killer instinct was no longer there after the injury as Aleksei purposely run away in the 5th round after dominating his opponents for 4 rounds in all of his consequent fights. BUT, the Russian fighter would prove resilient as he would string a 7 fight winning streak all out of Unanimous Decisions while being booked from all around the orgs which put him in line to challenge now 6-1 Bill Brown. A match up where people felt Brown's killer instinct would make up for his lack of experience but little did they know that the match-up would look like a re-enactment of Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida as Aleksei Chekhov kept countering Brown's attempt to come in close with kicks and jabs with the final round resulting into a gassed Brown unable to mount any offense against the once again FEM LHW Champion of the world. The dream match wasn't meant to be Knock-out fighters Andrew Rush and Uwe Maier have been cleaning house in the Middleweight division as the two were set to finish their trilogy with a bang as former champion Andrew Rush handed Maier his first defeat while Uwe Maier would win his rematch against Rush to become the FEM MW champion. The 5 fight winning streak fighters were both one fight away to finish the hype for their trilogy as they prepare to showcase their dominance in a PPV match where Maier would face young Tyler Lass and Rush would face Jim Carpenter as main and co-main events of the night. The celebration would turn sour though as Carpenter upsets Rush and Lass upsets Maier which would led to the trilogy being a non-title fight where Rush would beat Maier by Split Decision. Both fighters would never be the same though as they would never be as dominant ever again in their division. Post-patch: Org used: Reputation Road Revolution (custom) I told you he didn't suck! Some fighters gain respect for their ability to constantly compete against top fighters earning their bookings the title of Death Row but for Dave Lennon it wasn't so. Criticized by fans for being the Jorge Gurgel of the HW division, Scott Avatar received alot of flack as Lennon would start his RRR career on a 4 fight losing streak against Rav Kapur, Bob Dozier, Derek South and Mugur Boc but then again given rematches against Dozier, South and Boc after he snapped his losing streak with a win against Oscar Gomez in BCF no less. Lennon would proceed to lose all his rematches in devastating fashion but Avatar would stubbornly press his case that Dave was a top fighter as he continues to book him against undefeated Aleksander Ivanov and Recently snapped his undefeated streak Russell Mcphee. Lennon would once again lose in devastating fashion and the criticism against Avatar's favoritism would grow. Further disappointment came when Lennon would lose to 5-7 Barry Stratchan, a match that would have cementified Lennon's losses as due to top nearly undefeated competition. For Avatar, his theory seemed to be failing when he once again booked the 6 fight losing streak Lennon against undefeated Ivanov in their rematch. Lennon would shock the world this time as he would not only TKO and hand Ivanov his first loss but would later submit Mcphee in their rematch. Dave had his first taste of victory but what would later cementify his worth is his impressive TKO victory over BCF HW Champion Stafford Alois. A highly touted fighter who even went head to head with future Hall of Famer and RRR top HW fighter Stratos Papainou. Suddenly people were seeing Dave Lennon's 11-11 record in a different light. Proving the critics wrong A highly boring fighter accused of grinding out fights, Scott Avatar was criticized for hiring former GAMMA fighter Fernando Amaro in his no judges organization RRR. For many, they thought avatar was using Amaro's reputation as a stepping stone to hype knockout artist Andrew Rush. Amaro would in turn shock the world as he would not only TKO Rush in the 2nd round but would finish two of his next RRR fights against Jim Carpenter and Maurice Smith via submission and Knock Out. For the formerly boring fighter, it seemed that the world has changed as the media rushes in to add him as the #1 MW fighter around the world despite not avenging his loss against top GAMMA Fighter Maarten De Vries. The Queen and King of Draws: Floyd Haywood - 3 wins, 0 losses, 5 draws Kimie Igarashi - 5 wins, 1 loss, 6 draws The Better Shimizu For Hanako Shimizu, it seemed she was destined to be the lesser Shimizu as she lost both of her fights with Yuya at the start of her career. But, Hanako had something else in mind as she would eventually become Alpha-1's top female fighter with losses only to former champions Mizuki Watanabe and Romi Takahashi. Meanwhile Yuya Shimizu is currently rebuilding her career in RRR's Female MW division. The Controversial Young Gun Trilogy If anyone were to ever be told that then 2-0 fighter Jamie Hewitt and 3-0 Nicholas Bretton would culminate into not only one of the youngest but most controversial trilogies in WMMA history, they'd be laughed out of the building but that is exactly what happened as Hewitt would beat Bretton in their first fight due to a Bretton slip that would result into a KO via a Hewitt knee strike resulting into a rematch in the future. Bretton would handily TKO Hewitt in the 1st round of their 2nd match but controversy would once again spark as an exciting rubber match would be cut short when Hewitt got cut which result into a medical stoppage. Now fans await when their 4th fight against each other would come as both fighters seems to be moving on with their careers. Korekiyo "The Spider" Anzai Highly touted Korekiyo Anzai seemed to be destined to be one of the best MMA fighters around but disappointing losses to Faas Smit, Heikichi Shimizu and a draw to Truck Gleeson has marred his career and kept him from challenging the champions of the top org as he seemed to underperformed each time he was one fight away from challenging the champion. Coming to his prime, the submission fighter was seen as an above average fighter who could never be considered P4P as he only manages to grind most of his toughest fights to a unanimous decision. As luck would have it though, future hall of famer Alpha-1 champ Gabriel Gallego cleaning of his division in his 2nd reign as welterweight champion suddenly put the 6 fight winning streak (though none of those fights were in Alpha-1 and he was coming off a loss against Heikichi in his Alpha-1 fights) fighter in a position to be the next victim in line for the dominating Gallego. Anzai would shock the world by TKOing Gallego though but would stay relatively quiet as most fans would presume the win was a fluke and Gallego had been famous for coming back strong after his losses. A split decision GAMMA victory over Luis Basora did not help make the case for Anzai as a dominating Alpha-1 champion. A fact that GAMMA tried to take advantage of by having their WW champ Julio Roguerio, a dangerous fighter who has only one loss to Tyler Lass which he easily put away in their rematch to regain the belt. For most fans, on paper Anzai's history of dropping the ball had nothing on Roguerio and GAMMA was going to receive their biggest payday by hosting the 1st ever GAMMA vs. Alpha-1 champion fight and cementing Julio as the superior fighter. Anzai would shatter all these predictions though as he proceeds to Knock out Julio in the 1st round. The man that no one thought would reach the top has now officially become the P4P best weltweight in the world. GAMMA signs Lee Garofalo who had the Kimbo Slice avatar I just find this funny because I've been signing all the young figters to set premier contracts and the AI manages to beat me to signing the one fighter that you know wouldn't cut it out in their division. Btw he's 2-6 with wins over Chojiro Goto and Cory Brewer. Dokuhtei Kuroki manages to go out with a Ken Shamrock bang It looked like a one sided fight as Luke Hilton, a man who's only loss was to a submission by Brandon Sugar proceeded to knock out the soon to be retiring Kuroki in the 1st round. For everyone it was all over until Kuroki manages to slip in a submission at the last minute when Hilton went in for the kill handing Hilton his 2nd loss. Kuroki would later announce he would be retiring after a few months. Yejire "The Whiner" Yamamoto Yejiro Yamamoto goes on Blurcat that he was disappointed with his losses and was considering retiring after Alpha-1 just hired him for a 2nd time. Go back to Japan where the fights are easier 1. Milenko Rudonja pretty much stunk the place as the heavily disappointed fighter lost all of his fights in BCF and RRR with the exception of a win against Tsunesaboro Oonishi. Soon fired, everyone thought his career was over until Alpha-1 hired him in their division where he proceeds to go on a 4 fight winning streak and has consistently stayed competitive for as long as he was in there, having not only a KO win against Gabriel Gallego in his debut but also knock out wins against Ieyoshi Yama****a and Brandon Sugar among his lists of achievements. 2. Having a subpar career where she pretty much just beat gatekeeper in the RRR HW division, Olivia Sweet jumpstarted her dying career by having big wins over in Alpha-1's Women division including a Knock out over Janinha. Reputation killed the Cat Highly touted Sukarno would start his RRR career with a bang as the knockout artist destroys Ronnie Allan Teller in his first official pro fight but a draw to also undefeated Bill Brown would convince Sukarno to move up to LHW where he would have a disappointing submission victory over Bence Bodor, a draw to Theo Powers and finally a knockout loss to Jethro Munter. The once legendary Asian figure has now been seen only clutching to his past as two of his last three fights were draws. Gimme a f***ing break man! Veteran fighter Xie Ming just couldn't get a break. The 5-5 fighter who would move up to MW only back to WW only back to MW only back to WW would see himself winning only 2 fights in his past career: both coming after he had recently switched weights.

Going into the Uwe Maier vs Adam White MW title fight in July of 2000 Adam White was considered the top pound for pound fighter in the world. He was 14-0 with 12 of his wins coming by KO or TKO ( 10 where clean brutal KO's) He was also the most popular fighter in the world. Maier was on a four fight win streak with his last win coming by KO over former two time WW champ Jack Humphreys but he had defeats to Will Kane ( a solid but not great LW in my game), Neil Naiper ( who White had twice KO'd), and the defeat that cost him his shot aganist White 2 years before to Carl Ratclife who wasnt even close to being ranked. Maier KO'd White 36 seconds into the first round with a left hook. A couple months before that Rav Kapur was my HW champ and had just smashed his last five challangers inside the first round ( Foster, Boyer, Asanovic, Gilchrist, and Oktay) only to be dominated by the 35 year old Raul Hughes I think the judges all scored the fight 50-44 for Hughes.
