SWF Supreme TV; Week 1 January PREVIOUSLY ON SUPREME TV: In a storyline that had been tearing the company apart for nearly six months, Richard Eisen fired each and everyone of the members of the Board of Executives using the SWF Constitution to do so (they had broken a rule stating they were not to be influenced by any wrestlers) and announced that in the new year, a new General Manager would be selected; the menace Vengeance and Christian Faith went to square off in the main event but it was ruined by Eric Eisen who set up a three-on-one handicap match involving Rich Money and Remo on Vengeance’s side; Jack Bruce accepted Runaway Train’s challenge for the World title at When Hell Freezes Over SUPREME TV January, Week 1, 2008: Wisconsin, Gardens The crowd explodes and announcers Peter Michaels and Ana Garcia welcome the fans to the show! Peter Michaels: “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s 2008 and tonight dawns a new era the Supreme Wrestling Federation: your number one place for the best wrestling action in the world!” Ana Garcia: “Indeed Peter, last week we saw SWF CEO Richard Eisen actually fire all five members of the Board of Directors after the shocking revelation last summer that the board had been paid by Sam Keith. Tonight, Richard Eisen begins his hunt to find a new General Manager and a new Board of Executives.” Peter: “But perhaps more importantly, it’s a new year folks and tonight we kick things off with a bang! In our main event, Vengeance will team up with the man who helped him out last week, Eric Eisen, to take on the team of Christian Faith and the World Heavyweight champion, Jack Bruce!” Ana: “Things are going to heat up Peter...” On The Right Tracks The entrance music of the most dominant force in the SWF for the past eight years, Runaway Train, blasts over the P.A. Train, accompanied by The Guru, marches to the ring in typical no nonsense fashion. He stands in the ring beside ring announcer Jerry Eisen and completely towers over him. With his back-up, The Guru easily steals the microphone from Jerry. Guru: “Listen up!” This only generates more noise from the crowd. Guru: “For five months, now, Jack Bruce has held an iron grip onto the World Heavyweight championship. But in just two weeks, the world will once again see MY monster, Runaway Train on top of the wrestling world. There is no questioning his great strength, greater than fifty of your mortal men combined! Combined, Runaway Train’s complete title reigns have accounted for 22 months! That is more than Enygma, Steve Frehley, and your precious Jack Bruce... combined! If that doesn’t show you what this future Hall of Immortal member is all about – then perhaps we will have to show you once again. In 13 days, Runaway Train will END Jack Bruce’s title reign. The world will bow down to Runaway Train! And allow this monster to show you a little preview of next When Hell Freezes Over. Introducing his opponent, from the Samoa and weighing in at 257 pounds, he is one half of the Samoan Wildboyz... AKIMA BRAVE!” The tag team specialist (part of one of the hottest teams on the undercard, in fact) makes his way out to the ring (with his partner) to a surprisingly good cheer. The Guru pumps up Train to take him out as quick as possible, but he may be in for more than he’s bargained for. Peter: “Despite what The Guru may think, Akima Brave is not just a tag team wrestler; he’s won his fair share of singles match. If Train goes into this match underestimating Akima Brave, we could have one hell of an upset just a few weeks before the World title is to be defended!” Ana: “That’s right Pete, Train cannot underestimate Akima, a man who has Samoan pride and tradition running through his veins.” SINGLES MATCH Runaway Train (w/ The Guru) vs. Akima Brave (w/ Kid Toma) In an average bout, Runaway Train battled one half of the Samoan Wildboyz, Akima Brave. It wasn’t exactly the squash everyone was expecting as Akima put up a little bit of an effort. Underestimating his opponent in the first few minutes allowed Akima to run rampant over the former World champ. The Guru shouted advice from the corner but it doesn’t help. Akima is pounding Train making for some interesting remarks from Peter and Ana. As Akima continues his tactics Peter and Ana wonder whether they are seeing a potential candidate for a World title shot in two weeks. However, the dreams were gone as soon as they arrived. Train uses his strong elbows to back Akima up and the end begins. A side slam, a military press, and some head smashes to the corner are all it takes for Runaway Train to beat down Akima enough to get his finisher in. The aptly named Train Wreck is hit in the corner (that’s right, it’s an avalanche splash) and it puts Akima down for three! "Your winner by pinfall, Runaway Train!" The Perfect Candidate Backstage, Richard Eisen is standing in his office looking through a folder filled with pages. After a knock on his door, Eisen tells the person to come in. The noise in the background picks up as the fans give a warm welcome to Christian Faith, SWF mega-star. Richard Eisen: “Mr. Faith, what in the hell do you want?” Christian Faith: “Dick, I’ve got some good news for you.” Richard: “What is it, Mr. Faith.” Christian: “Well, sir, I heard that you’re looking for a new General Manager. I thought about it for a moment and realized I didn’t care who it was because it never stopped me from being the best before. But then I thought for a moment. I said to myself, Christian, who else would the fans want to be their new General Manager than you? I mean me, of course.” Richard: “You’ve got to be kidding me, Mr. Faith. I’ve run this company since day one and you think you, of all people, have the experience necessary to run this company.” Christian: “Of course, Dick.” Richard: “It’s Mr. Eisen to you, Mr. Faith. And if you think for one instance that you have the skills necessary to run this ship, you’re fooling yourself and the thousands of people watching every week. Mr. Faith, look at your accomplishments. Sure, despite my greatest attempts to stop you from being the World Heavyweight champion, you’ve done so on numerous occasions. You’ve headlined countless Supreme Challenges, and most importantly, the fans seem to love you, only God knows why. But Mr. Faith, even if you were the last person on Earth, I would not trust you with this – my company. You see, it takes brains, wits, intelligence, and integrity to run a company in tight order and Mr. Faith, I don’t quite see you fitting the expectations.” Christian: “Sir, with all due respect, I never came here to actually apply for the General Manager’s position.” Richard: “Then why are you wasting my time.” Christian: “Because I came to ask you a favour. Dick, at When Hell Freezes Over, I want to face your son... because when he’s out of the way, my path to Vengeance is all clear.” Although Richard looks mad at first for Christian to even dare to request this, Richard eventually gets a grin on his face. Richard: “You’re on, son. But only because I know there is no way in hell that my son will LET you beat him. Now get the hell out of his office.” Christian: “Thank you very much, Dick.” The Rich Get Richer Faith heads out of Mr. Eisen’s office with a huge smile plastered across his face while Richard looks quite upset at Faith’s interruption. Peter and Ana discuss what a huge match has been set before heading to the back with Duane Fry alongside SWF North American champion, Rich Money. Duane Fry: “I’m standing beside SWF North American champ Rich Money and Rich, up next we will witness a fatal four-way match to determine a new #1 contender for your title: your thoughts?” Rich Money: “I couldn’t give a damn about the fatal four-way Duane. The fact of the matter is this, I own this damn place. Sure, for now, it’s the North American title but before long, everything in this damn company will be under my rule, new GM or not. I have proven time and time again that money can buy anything. If I wanted to right now I could make you dress up as a cowboy, a rock and roll musician, or a doctor of love (all references to TCW gimmicks). These four superstars think they’re going out there and fighting for a shot at my title, but what they don’t realize is that they are fighting for a chance to earn some cold, hard cash. I am not against buying out my competition Duane. It’s been done before. Some call me a coward, I call myself the greatest business man that ever lived. Nobody can stand up to me and say that if they were in my shoes, they wouldn’t do the exact same thing!” Duane: “Rich, for the past month new SWF superstar “Big Money” Brandon James and his agent Emma Chase have appeared at ringside during some of your matches. We’ve yet to get a word with them or yourself so we were wondering, what’s the relationship there?” Rich: “So far, so good; James knows business. James is a man who has tons of money himself and he knows a good investment when he sees one. I’m not going to say that James hasn’t contacted me, because he has, but the discussion we had is a private matter. Until further notice, that topic is off limits. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a match to commentate.” Rich slips a twenty dollar bill in Duane’s pocket before heading out to do some guest commentary for the fatal four-way up next! Enforcer Roberts, as you can guess, an enforcer currently not enrolled by anyone on the SWF roster; Big Smack Scott, perhaps the most (in a bad way) hated man in the SWF; and Valiant, the currently ultra pro-USA babyface all make their way down to the ring before the extremely popular Robbie Retro danced his way to the ring. The match was about to get underway when Rich Money made his presence known and sat down at the broadcast table. Just to make sure his own presence was known, Brandon James and Emma Chase made their way out to the ring... to watch Rich Money. #1 CONTENDERSHIP FOR NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP Enforcer Roberts vs. Valiant vs. Big Smack Scott vs. Robbie Retro The fatal four way starts out with two pairs heading into each corner trying to gain an early advantage. Scott tries to knock out Valiant with some hard punches while Enforcer Roberts chokes the daylights out of Retro. Money continually tries to call the match while Peter and Ana quiz him about the meaning of Brandon James being at ringside. Retro makes a good comeback on Roberts but it’s quickly stopped. Peter notes that Enforcer Roberts was a three time North American champ, which just might give him the drive to pull out a win here. Ana then trumps that fact by stating that none of the other three have been champ and that might give them a little more incentive to get the win. Of course, Rich doesn’t care who gets the win because he “will be leaving the arena as the champ”. Valiant pummels Scott and tosses him out of the ring. Retro and Valiant team up and nail a couple of key double team moves on Roberts. However, their alliance ends as Retro won’t allow Valiant to score the pinfall. Valiant apparently learned how to fly as he takes a leap from the top rope and nails a splash on Scott on the outside. Meanwhile in the ring, Roberts shows off his tremendous technical ability by catching Retro off guard with an octopus stretch. It’s locked in for a long period of time before Valiant breaks it up with a shot to the back of Robert’s head. Chaos ensues from here for the next few minutes before Retro finds his footing. Scott knocked to the outside, then Roberts! Valiant and Retro square off. A DDT is hit by Valiant and going with what’s worked so far, he heads up to the top rope. Retro ducks an axe handle smash and turns around to nail Valiant (who landed on his feet) with the Murder on the Dancefloor (Scissor Kick) to earn his shot at the PPV. Rich sarcastically claps his win as Brandon James stares at Rich without blinking. Not worried, Rich tells Retro that he will pay for winning this match. "Your winner by pinfall and new #1 contender for the North American title, Robbie Retro!" An awkward stare down between Rich Money and Robbie Retro follows the match which leads into a triple threat stare down also involving the giant Brandon James. The screen fades into black and leads into a video that the fans in the arena enjoy. Feel Good Moments The video is hyping up the eventual return of perhaps the greatest technical wrestler in SWF history: Angry Gilmore. The video was Angry Gilmore Original Moment #1; this time, it was Gilmore’s debut on live television. Back in his native country of Canada, Angry Gilmore took on Canadian legend, Ed Morton. The small clips of the match saw Angry Gilmore has a high-flying, sensational talent who eventually fell to the much more experienced Morton. The final clip shows Gilmore and Morton shaking hands before the words “Angry Gilmore Returns Soon” appear on the screen. The happy-go-lucky feeling is crushed by the arrogant Joe Sexy making his way out to the ring. The former partner of Angry Gilmore, Joe Sexy looks like he’s in no mood for spirit-lifting video packages. Joe Sexy: “Congratulations Gilmore, you lost to a Canadian nobody.” This certainly doesn’t welcome a warm welcome from the crowd. Joe Sexy: “For months, I teamed with Angry Gilmore. We picked up the SWF Tag Team titles, mostly because of my tremendous wrestling talent. But at Welcome To The Jungle, my “partner” lost us those titles. The Samoan Wildboyz were able to take out the lesser of two Sexual Aggression members and take our gold. Every time we had another shot, Gilmore would go and screw it up! For whatever it’s worth, Angry Gilmore was apparently placed fourth on a recent website’s list of the Top 100 wrestlers of 2007. I actually have the magazine article right in front of me. Let me show you something... I looked over this list and where was my name! That’s right – it’s not on here!” This, however, receives a large response from the crowd as well as chuckle from Peter and Ana. Joe Sexy: “I carried Gilmore in our matches. I’m better looking, the better wrestlers, and overall, I’m a 10. I should be number one, no question about it. The so called “critics” who determined this list, people from all over the globe, they can go straight to hell! Speaking of hell, 13 days away is SWF’s first PPV of 2008, When Hell Freezes Over. It is there where I will prove why I deserve to be number one on that list. I’m challenging any superstar back there to a match and I will beat you in just five minutes.” Peter: “What a challenge, Ana! Joe Sexy claims he can beat any SWF superstar in less than five minutes!” Ana: “Who has the guts to accept this challenge?” The music of a superstar we’ve already seen tonight lights up and the crowd gives a warm welcome. Mr. USA, Valiant, marches onto the stage and stares at Joe. Already having wrestled a match just moments ago, Valiant is still in wrestling gear with a t-shirt on and a towel wrapped around his neck. Valiant: “Joe, last year I debuted in the SWF. It was a pleasure to have worked some of my first big matches against a first class worker like Angry Gilmore. I take offense to the fact that you say you “carried” Gilmore so I’m here to accept your challenge for the PPV, since I no longer have a match.” Joe: “You?” Valiant: “Yeah, me, Joe. You got a problem with facing me?” Joe: “Well see, I don’t wrestle kids still in school.” Valiant: “Joe, you talk a lot of smack. But when you wrestle me at Hell, I’ll be the one taking you back to school.” Joe: “Alright Valiant, you’re on!” Valiant gets a smile on his face before heading to the back. Who Better Than Blood In the back, we see Richard Eisen again this time with his son Eric. Richard: “Son!” Eric: “Dad, people out there have told me that I have a match with CHRISTIAN FAITH at When Hell Freezes Over! Has Hell actually frozen over?” Richard: “That’s right son. I allowed Christian this match for one reason: I know there is no way you’ll let him beat you! You’ll find some way to come out on top son. I know that.” Eric: “Dad, have you actually gone insane. It’s Christian Faith! Seriously dad, maybe you should give me the GM position. I’ve proven before that I’m a capable enough leader to run this show.” Richard: “Nice try, Eric. But I’ve told you this a thousand times before... you need to work on your in-ring success. I want you to be the first Eisen to hold the top title in our wrestling company.” Eric: “So... that’s a no?” Richard: “That’s a no, son. Now you’ve got a big tag team match tonight. Go get ready.” And with that, Eric leaves his father’s office. Back at ringside, Peter and Ana are surprised to see Frederique Antonio Garcia (yes, Ana’s brother) continue the current trend for the night of joining them at the broadcast booth. Peter: “Frederique, welcome.” Frederique: “Ah, sis! Good to see you again!” Ana: “Not that it’s not good to see you too Frederique but what exactly are you doing out here.” Frederique: “Last week, four bums by the name of Randy Bumfhole, Zimmy Bumfhole, Brett Biggz and Bart Biggz challenged ME to a four person tag team match after they claimed I had no friends! Can you believe that!?” Ana: “Well from what I’ve seen, you haven’t exactly been the friendliest guy in the locker room.” Frederique: “Shut up, sis. Tonight, “The Fabulous One” is here to watch the upcoming tag team match so that I can find a few people to help me tag out those awful tag teams, The Biggz Boyz and The Amazing Bumfholes.” Speaking of the Biggz Boyz, they make their way out to the ring with their manager Jessie in tow. They slap the hands of their fans and pump up the crowd in the ring. Their opponents, however, barely even get a reaction other than a few boos spread throughout the arena. Knuckles and Shady K, two rappers teamed up under the name Death Row are apparently who Frederique came to see. TAG TEAM MATCH The Biggz Boyz (w/ Jessie) vs. Death Row Shady K and Bart Biggz kick off the match with a classic collar-and-elbow tie up. Bart tries to pick up the pace early on but K stops him by nailing hard closed fists. Frederique compliments K’s style early on and wonders how a team like The Biggz Boyz could have ever won the tag titles. K and Knuckles make a good team by using frequent tags to keep the fresh man in. But Bart’s experience (albeit, his advantage here is pretty slim) allows for him to reverse a few moves. Bart and Brett now use the tags to keep Knuckles down. As per usual Biggz style, the pace quickens. Bart and Brett may not be the fastest athletes on the roster but they know how to use their skills to their advantage. A quick run for Bart allows him to take out both K and Knuckles who try to infiltrate the ring to gain the momentum back. But a clip to Bart’s knee allows K and Knuckles to drag the injured star back to their corner. The two make sure to prevent the ref from seeing their dirty tactics like choking Bart with the tag rope and using the ropes to nail Bart with a guillotine. Unfortunately for the rookie tag team, Bart pushes K out of the ring and dropkicks Knuckles off the apron. Bart and Brett plan to go for a double suicide dive outside of the ring but are stopped by the ref. K and Knuckles prepare to enter back in the ring when Frederique leaves hi s place at the booth and whispers something in their ears. The ref has no choice but to count them out. The winners of this match by count out, The Biggz Boyz! Friends In Low Places Peter: “Did... did Frederique just convince Death Row to get themselves counted out?” Ana: “I’m sure little brother will have some kind of reason behind this.” Frederique: “Bart, Brett; say hello to two of my teammates for the PPV! Good luck now, since Knuckles and Shades...” Shady K: “Shady K.” Frederique: “Yes... Knuckles and Shady K have joined my team! Considering they just about beat you, I’d say my team has no chance of losing. I told my pals here to leave the ring and get counted out so that the big beat down can be saved for When Hell Freezes Over instead of letting these worthless human beings get to watch it for free! Later!” Frederique and his new crew head off to the back leaving Brett and Bart standing in the ring. The former tag champs simply shrug their shoulders then scurry off to the back chasing down Frederique and Death Row. Peter: “The Biggz Boyz in hot pursuit of their opponents for the PPV!” Ana: “But on another subject completely, we’ve got a little special video for all the fans watching at home.” Blue Blood The video is brief and frankly, quite unentertaining. It shows a man who debuted last week, Paul Huntingdon (who came to the ring and declared that he would be champion before the end of next year) enjoying his rather larger-than-lifestyle. Claiming to be an ancestor of the greatest nobles in Europe, Paul Huntingdon has found his calling in the world of wrestling. He declares that in two weeks, he will make his in-ring debut. Peter: “Huntingdon, a man who claimed he would be SWF World Heavyweight champion within a year will make his in-ring debut in just two weeks.” Ana: “That sure is exciting Peter but you know what else is exciting? A five way challenge match just announced for When Hell Freezes Over to determine the new #1 contender for either Jack Bruce or Runaway Train’s title!” Peter: “Up next we have Enygma taking on Remo; both of whom are in that match! Also involved are former champion Steve Frehley, former North American champion Lobster Warrior, and the always arrogant Squeaky McClean. It’s sure to be huge.” Remo’s music strikes up on the PA and the bad ass known as “The Machine” heads down to the ring without a grin on his face. Ana: “And here’s a little taste for you.” The man who went undefeated for nearly two years makes his way out to the ring next decked out in his usual green mask, singlet, and SWF t-shirt hyping up the next PPV. SINGLES MATCH Remo vs. Enygma This match pitted a man who had huge momentum going into a title reign and virtually none coming out against a man less than a year away from becoming the biggest thing in the wrestling world. Remo’s bad assery provides the fans with something to hate. He literally kicks the **** out of his opponents, feeling no remorse as he does so. “The Machine” really sticks it to Enygma early on in the match, showing the audience why he thinks he’s going to win at the PPV. Remo used shots to the head, shots to the back, and shots to the legs. Remo was pulling out all the stops to try and end this thing as early as possible. But Enygma used the fans to get him back into contention to win the match. A whip to the corner was followed up by a boot to the face for Remo and Enygma went on a roll from there. A back body drop followed out of the corner and then a big leg drop in the middle of the ring. Of course, this wouldn’t be enough to keep Remo down and several two counts were made. Enygma nailed Remo with elbows to the head and then hit some shoulders in the corner. Remo caught Enygma off guard when he locked in his opponent’s heads during an attempted shoulder tackle in the corner. A tornado DDT was attempted but Enygma shot him out of the corner. Sprinting off the ropes Enygma ducked a clothesline and saw the Machine locked into a sleeper hold, as made famous by Mr. Flawless. Remo looked stuck but a leap up to the top corner allowed him to use that leverage to break the hold. Remo, still on the top rope, went for a cross body but the former champ ducked it. The Machine tried to regain himself in the corner but was met by an avalanche from Enygma. Wisely, Remo ducked out of the ring to get some fresh air but his opponent soon followed. Remo was introduced to the steel barricade before entering back into the ring. A possum pin shifted the momentum back into Remo’s favour once again. A few more kicks and some dazed looks later, Enygma made one last attempt to win the match. Enygma, on his knees blocks a running Remo from hitting a shining wizard by hitting his finisher, the Enygma Variation! Enygma hooks the leg and gets the win. The winners of this match by pinfall, Enygma! Peter: “Enygma grabs the win and proves he’s going to be one tough competitor to beat next Sunday!” Ana: “He sure is, Peter but we’ve also got four other competitors.” Cleaning Up The Act Backstage Steve Frehley and Lobster Warrior are applauding and discussing the last match. Lobster Warrior: “Impreshive showing there by Enygma but at Hell, there’sh only one man who deshervesh to be the #1 contender... me! Steve Frehley: “Just because you deserve to win the match doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.” Lobster: “Oh but it doesh Shteve. The shellsh in the ocean are proclaiming one thing: at When Hell Freezhesh Over, Lobshtah Warriah will become the #1 contender!” Frehley: “We’ll see, man.” The fifth man in the match steps into the picture and begins to poke fun at the other two men. Squeaky McClean: “Both of you two need to clean up your act if you think you’re goin’ to be able to stop me from earning a shot at the biggest prize in the business. I ‘ought to slap the two of you right now for even thinkin’ ‘bout it.” Frehley: “Uh... you gotta little something on your chest, there.” McClean looks down at his shirt for a stain but instead is met with a hard left hand from Frehley. Frehley knocks McClean around a little bit in the back, slamming him into walls and doors. One final kick to the head is enough for Lobster to pull Frehley off of him while EMTs check on McClean. Frehley laughs but the fans are quite pleased with this beat down. Ready To Rock In another area of the backstage Duane Fry is standing alone. Duane: “Ladies and gentleman, joining me now is the current SWF World Heavyweight champion... “Rock Star” Jack Bruce! Jack, in just 13 days you defend your title against the monster, Runaway Train. Can I get your thoughts on how you think you’ll be him?” Bruce: “You know Duane, I get asked pretty much the same question before any match I have. ‘Jack, how do you feel going up against Christian Faith... Steve Frehley... Eric Eisen?’ It’s the same answer every time... I feel the rush of the thousands of fans chanting my name. Those fans give me the motivation to go out there and give them my all – to beat whatever odds I’m facing that night. And Runaway Train is no different especially since he’s the man I beat to win this very title. But I guess that doesn’t matter; it’s what happens out there that matters. Tonight, Christian Faith and I are going to go out there and beat Vengeance and Eric Eisen. And then, at When Hell Freezes Over, I will retain my World Heavyweight title.” Jack Bruce heads off to the ring for his match but it’s Eric Eisen who’s the first one out to the ring, followed shortly after by Vengeance. They are followed out by Christian Faith and then his partner, the World Heavyweight champ Jack Bruce struts to the ring with a huge ovation from the crowd. Peter: “Here we go, the first main event of the new year!” TAG TEAM MATCH Eric Eisen and Vengeance vs. Christian Faith and Jack Bruce The audience is solely behind Faith as he kicks off the match against his PPV opponent, Eric Eisen. The two lock up and Faith’s experience gives him the upper hand. Eisen looks like an absolute fool being tossed around by the former four time champ. Vengeance occasionally has to come in and break up whatever submission hold Faith has Eisen stretched out in. Peter and Ana both comment on how they think Eisen is going to last against Faith. But the tide turns with a low blow that senior official Ric Young doesn’t see. Eisen shows why exactly he is on the SWF roster as he displays a unique style unlike any other wrestler in the company. He begins to run circles around Faith, using his speed to his advantage. Faith is caught off guard when Eisen nails a flying cross body from the top rope, and again when he’s hit with a hurricanrana. Eisen, calculating his assaults now knows better than to stay in the ring when Faith begins to gain even the slightest bit of momentum. Vengeance quickly stops Faith with a series of powerful moves that leave Faith rolling on the ground in pain. A boot to the face allows Faith just enough time to make a quick tag to Bruce who comes in guns blazing. A few clotheslines, an elbow smash and a scoop slam are all he gets in however as Vengeance puts an end to his steak with a clubbing uppercut. Vengeance tosses Bruce to the outside and changes his focus on his long-time enemy, Christian Faith. Vengeance knocks him off the apron and follows him down. The monster shows his lack of mercy by smashing Faith’s head onto the announce table, the steel steps, and then throwing him head first into the ring pole. One last attempt to go after Faith was stopped by the champion who clobbered Vengeance with a flying forearm. The two head back into the ring where Bruce is able to keep the big man down. The crowd gets behind Bruce, numerous times calling for him to hit his finisher: The New York Minute (a double underhook face buster). Every time he went for it though it was blocked, but he would gain his momentum back. He went for it one too many times apparently as Vengeance nailed his own finisher, the chokeslam! Vengeance went for the cover but just got two! Frequent tags between Eisen and Vengeance allowed the legal man to keep fresh and keep Bruce isolated in the corner. Eisen looks to finish Bruce with the Silver Spoon Shock (Go 2 Sleep) but Bruce escapes and nails an Enziguri. A hot tag to Christian allows the legend to gain some revenge on Eisen as well as Vengeance. The monster is thrown to ringside allowing Faith to nail a Manhattan Drop on Eisen just seconds before Bruce nails a super kick on him! Stunned, Eisen walks right into the Test of Faith (Crossface Chickenwing) and has no choice but to tap out! "Your winners of this match by submission, Christian Faith and Jack Bruce!" The champ and his partner bask in the cheers as they end the first show of 2008 in style! Ana: “Will that be the outcome we see in two weeks? Can Christian Faith make Eric tap out again?” Peter: “And what will Runaway Train have in store for the champion? Plus, Richard Eisen has more news on the General Manager position! All this and more... next week! Good night!”
NEW BOOKER, SIGNINGS, AND RATINGS Finally, SWF came out on top of the ratings chart this week as Supreme TV scored a 3.01 on C.A.N.N. They narrowly beat out TCW, who earned a 2.99. This worried the SWF executives who feel TCW may be on the verge of overtaking SWF. In the UK, SWF scored a 0.07. The new SWF mystery booker, known as The Grand Avatar, began his duties last night with the first show of 2008. His performance was rated as okay. Many people backstage were pleased with his performance, but not thrilled. Long time stars like Christian Faith and Enforcer Roberts expected Avatar to pull out something spectacular for his first show. One star who has taken a liking to the new booker is the most hated man in the SWF, Big Smack Scott. Avatar has announced at board meetings that he would like to make something out of the man, who has a certain "X" factor. Of course, this hasn't made him the most like man in the locker room. Another thing that bothered the wrestlers and staff was his intervention in some of the road agent duties. It was said that at times he went over the decisions of Chief Two Eagles and Pat Deacon and was trying to control everything. This wouldn't have been so bad if he wasn't terrible at it. However, the blame of last night cannot be put solely on Avatar; many wrestlers were "off their game" so to speak, last night. A fight between Remo and Rich Money also took place. The two men, who occasionally tag together under the name Almighty Dollar, began to shove each other after Remo pulled a rib on Money that got out of hand. Richard Eisen left the argument unpunished which did not sit well with Rich. SWF did make some additions to the roster this week at the request of Avatar. The stars will unable to work until right before the PPV or directly after. None of them will be eligible to compete at this weeks Supreme TV. Not that it matters too much anyway as many of the stars will be headed to Rhode Island Pro Wrestling (SWF's developmental league). The names of the workers are Kirk Jameson (a young wrestler with some technical ability), Steven Parker (a former star from Rip Chord's Mid Atlantic Wrestling), Soul Taker (a phenomenal star who's huge in Mexico), Erik Strong (another star from Chord's MAW), and Mainstream Hernandez (perhaps one of the biggest name on the indy scene). Two other wrestlers were signed but nobody is quite sure who exactly they are.
