spikedave Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Ok so i wanna know what has been your worst signing for your fed! Mine has to be Hulk Hogan! Why did i sign him you ask?? Because i wanted the star power to help boost TNA. Instead i got a guy who fought backstage with the younger guys in TNA and injured AJ.Styles, needless to say after the second show i sacked him.
FINisher Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 In Cornellverse when playing US promotion: Stevie Grayson, Kazuma Narato and Fumihiro Ota.
Comradebot Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 TEW07, using USPW: I signed Primal Rage and got two matches out of him before he ODed and became worthless. I kept him around afterwards, as he became a great stepping stone from the lower to midcard. Also, he was showing signs of being able to put himself back together. In the 1997 mod for 08, using a then Regional company of my own creation I signed Joey Flame... With Professor Nero retiring, I passed the belt on to Joey (they were feuding) to try and make him a transitional champion until RDJ wasn't busy and could win the belt again. Instead, Joey Flame held the belt for about half a month before he died of a drug overdose. And, as much as I like the guy, Bigger Dan Ewe was simply a massive disappointment in my EWA game. While I was doing decent at pushing him, the fans were crapping on his matches and he wasn't developing as fast as I wanted him to. I managed to originally sign him before all the owner goals popped up, but in the end he couldn't develop fast enough to meet Byron's requirements so I sent him packing.
Tempest Kane Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Had a similar expirance with joey flame... I was stupid enough to hire "The Hype" ... just about every bad thing you could have happen to one guy then decided to happen over the next 2 months... creating a real life drama that out shined anything my storylines could of produced. He ended up dead, having basicaly ended Rip Chords career in the ring, and getting me a major hit to my prestiege.
stratusfaction Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 In my TNA game....my worst signing was Torrie Wilson! I had just hired Dawn Marie and had her managing David Flair. Flair wouldn't extend his contract so when it ended he jumped ship to WWE leaving Dawn Marie without anything to do...except for being squashed by Awesome Kong. So I signed Torrie Wilson to start a feud with Dawn Marie. After a couple of weeks...Torrie gets injured and is about for 3 months. When she comes back she informs me that she is retiring! I signed her for about 16,000 and she was only in the company for 4 months! 3 of those months she was injured! So by far she was my worst signing!
James Casey Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Anyone who doesn't say Stevie Grayson has never signed Stevie Grayson. The guy's a joke at the expense of any small or regional fed unfortunate enough to sign him
NoNeck Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Unless you can pair him off with another worker who he has chemistry with as a tag team. That un-worthless-ifies him a little bit.
Blackman Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I had the opportunity to sign Johnny Bloodstone when he debuted, but didn't since it would be one of the worst signings, given the fact that I controlled CZCW. F+ flashyness is definately a no-no.
Aussie Dan Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Sean Waltman. I thought he'd be a good "veteran" to be around the young guys on my ROH game, but he matches have been disappointing. His stats are pretty good, but he has yet to have a match over a D+ rating. Maybe that will change after I threated to fire him after failing 2 drugs test. I tested him a week later and he was clean....
Dragonmack Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Art Reed. Brought him in with an unbreakable submission gimmick to build him up to a submission feud with Shooter Sean Deeley, only to have him leave after only 2 months for a written in Japan. No feud, no payoff, nothing but 2 months of tv time wasted pushing him that could have pushed someone else.
Blackman Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Oh i kinda misinterpreted the topic title: My worst signing - it was a tradeoff actually - was the Legendary "Luis Montero". I was absolutely psyched to have him in my promotion for this 'one' match, a CZCW Title match with Spanish Superfly. They had numerous matches in the past, which I observed, and got great ratings. I booked it as a main event obviously, was super-excited, but then... The game spotted superbad chemistry. The match was rated C-. I was absolutely furious. The event is still known as the single worst event I booked...ever (in that game). It was simply laughable. And i still don't get it, since OLLIE consistently gets A-matches out of them, without booking them in a title bout. Sure they are more popular in mexico, so it might be realistic (I remember in TEW07 I had Wanda Fish & some minor worker pull out a A match with bad chemistry for some reason), but still... But then again, bad signings like this one are part of the charm of the game. So far I've loved this playthrough, simply because of the bad events that happened.
pepper2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 American Elemental, Fumihiro Ota, Art Reed, Larry Wood and Johnny Martin, they are talented but they never live up to their past performances in my NOTBPW.
The Masked Orange Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 gotta be Nicolas Lopez. I hired him in Mexico, put him up against Axxis Jr. and I got an A match. Great huh? For some reason after that his highest match was a C+, and this wasn't a few months after the event, it was for two years after the event. I decided to give him one more chance, but him up against Champagne Lover, who was 97% popularity in Mexico, and had A* overness, and put the title on the line. Lopez was 89% popularity and A overness (pushed him big time for the event.). The match bombed, all I got was a lousy B-. I could of pushed DEMON SEED to that and had him pull off an A. I can't fire him because I will lose money I desperatly need, and my owner made me rehire him. (they are good friends, if I fire him my owner will be pissed). He should of retired but he wont. I want him to die. Death to Nicolas Lopez

If they're friends with the owner, you are STUCK with them.
Astil Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 My worst signing was probably KEVIN JOOOOONES! Gave him a title run which consisted of a lot of D+ matches, when the sub main event was getting C's. Then he wanted a thousand dollar raise. GTFO!

I declare Shane Hannigans!
Astil Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Only D+s out of the Main Event from Kevin Jones? I declare Shane Hannigans! Very nice sir. It was ROF, so that might be why.
Comradebot Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Very nice sir. It was ROF, so that might be why. Aye, Kevin Jones isn't a terrible wrestler, but definetly not a good fit for ROF. He's more of a fit for MOSC, 21CW, or EWA... I so should bring him into EWA.
