Kobe1724 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'm just wondering what it effects. It isn't one of the filterable stats and I've noticed (with the exception of menace) that those tend to effect the game less. Anyone know?
Derek B Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Power has a number of small effects in the game. It has a small effect on the match rating of any match for one thing, as just being stronger than others helps a bit. It also has an impactwhen generating the destiny stat, with a strong worker getting a more favourable destiny than others. I even believe that having a high power stat can contribute to an improvement in menace, sex appeal or star quality... though I'm not actually certain of that... but if so then it can affect angle ratings and the ability to get over too. It's not an immediately obviously useful stat, but it has it's effects on the gameworld.
D-Lyrium Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Don't forget gimmicks, too. That's the main one. Certain gimmicks have a required amount of power (such as Power and Paint, and Bodyguard).
Blackman Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Indeed it's not important at all. It should be clear enough, given you can't even filter search for it.
shamelessposer Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Certain types of booker are more likely to hire workers who have a good amount of Power than those who don't.
Remianen Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Indeed it's not important at all. It should be clear enough, given you can't even filter search for it. You can't draw such a broad conclusion. Prior to 08, you couldn't filter search for Selling either. Does that mean it's not important?
FINisher Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I think that with high realism and high performance products, the "Power" skill could add something to the matches: With PGHW and INSPIRE for example. It isn't a coincidence that Marat Khoklov who's strong and tough as hell (Power, Intensity, Stiffnes and Toughness), is a major superstar in INSPIRE.
Blackman Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 You can't draw such a broad conclusion. Prior to 08, you couldn't filter search for Selling either. Does that mean it's not important? No, but from extensive experience I can conclude as much. Like the MMA stat, it's probably used for realistic signings. I don't know if it adds to the match, but it's definately possible. But what is for sure is that its impact is not huge whatsoever.
FINisher Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 The MMA skill is "the" thing in a product that's big on Hyper Realism: Check INSPIRE and their roster for example.
