WWE RAW poll, Which Armageddon match are you most excited for? Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk 9.21 % Batista vs. Randy Orton 73.36 % World Heavyweight Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho 17.42 % Orton and LBL??? (LBL=Low Budget Lesnar, tired of repeating myself so invented acronym for it) Orton is a stuperb wrestler, LBL is an overrated lump of lard, who is already in his fortys so WWE want to capitalise on his *looks* while they still can, and while Lesnar is doing MMA. Now, Orton vs. HBK =Great Match Orton Vs. CM Punk=Good match Orton Vs. Cody Rhodes/Ted DiBiase=Decent Match Orton Vs. Pizza Dude=Crap match Orton Vs. LBL=Is the Pizza Dude still available????

I hate Orton I usually change the channel anytime Orton wrestles so the scum bag vs impressive looking but horrible wrestling guy is not a match I would watch, if I was buying the PPV. Actually any segment that has Orton is time to go to the bathroom or get a snack. See whats happening on project runway or poke my eyes out with a hot poker.

Wow. Totally shocked at those poll results. I guess Rey/Punk has come practically out of nowhere, in a tournament no one cares about, and Jericho has been so thoroughly killed in his last two physical confrontations with Cena that it seems like a forgone conclusion, but... That's a very wide margin.

 

I don't like Batista. Just the idea of a guy who's big and strong and well-liked and gets all the girls and outsmarts/outpowers everyone else and is really, really successful... my inner jealousy kicks in and I think "Screw that guy." He's pretty much the antithesis of everything I'd cheer for.

 

However, people seem to like him. I'm not going to pretend to understand it, but I'll accept it. It's like Cryme Time. Or Big Brother. I don't personally get it, but that's okay.

 

Yes. Now that I look at it, he does seem very Lesnar like, albeit without the freakish athletic ability. He's not as good as Brock, but... Batista isn't bad. He plays his role very well, and has had some really good matches. His series with The Undertaker was pretty damn awesome in places.

 

Batista is over-rated (if you take position on the card to be indicative of wrestling skill, which it isn't) but I feel he's under-rated in internet wrestling circles.

 

As for the Orton match... I'm not excited. There's no real 'reason' for the match, other than to see who's better 1-on-1 (which tbh works in MMA) but their recent encounters have been interesting, with Randal RKOing him in awesome, awesome ways. Now a lot of that is Orton's intensity & explosion of star presence, but I give a lot of credit to Batista. A lot of Main Eventers would let themselves be punked out like that, brother.

 

P.S. Those are the 3 top matches? Think I'll be giving this PPV a miss.

 

P.P.S. Leave it to me to argue with you despite sort of agreeing with you... I need another hobby.

I think the major reason smarks don't 'get' Batista (and I use the term 'smark' with the utmost of love, being one myself) is because they see wrestling skill. You typical wrestling fan doesn't. Not unless it's really, really bad. Your typical wrestling fan doesn't see that Batista didn't get full extension on that arm-drag or didn't seem ready for that tackle/drop-down spot. They just see a big dude beating the tar out of people, and they like that.

These carbon-copy threads are getting a little ridiculous in that they never, ever seem to vary; Self will do a lengthy post and end with either "I need a new hobby" or "I have way too much time on my hands", Ransik will turn up to say how poor Batista is, Masked Orange will either try to start an argument or do some "comedy", we'll have an extended discussion on why the WWE is dropping the ball with , and three pages later we'll have come to the conclusion that WWE poll results are meaningless, most GDS posters like wrestlers who have a good workrate, and WWE are going to continue pushing the same people they always do.

 

I'm all for debate, but surely I'm not the only one who has noticed how repetitive these threads are? :eek:

Agreed, there are times I get deja vu just from looking at these threads, and it rare that it's not about stuff I want to say. We get it guys, smarks don't like WWE. If it upsets/annoys you so much, don't watch it. Just give up and go watch something you DO enjoy and the world will be a happier place for everyone.

Yah, as long as this is an open forum, and people don't like how WWE/TNA/ROH/CHIKARA/NOAH/ect. people will post about it.

 

In fact this is purposely in the "Dog Pound" so it didn't clog up the useful forums.

 

And if it wasn't for people like Self and Ransik it would be some people going:

 

"Please, leave Batista alone, he's not all bad, he may not be the best but hey we the paying customer don't mind what we get."

 

I saw Batista live once, their was a segment where Randy Orton's (he was going to interfere later in the match, followed by CM Punk) music accidentally played. Batista stood their and gasped, Jericho told the sound guy that he was not Randy Orton, and that we should all be bowing down to him.

 

So please let this continue, if you don't like it, don't read it noone is forcing you.

 

And now I end by saying RAW can't compete with Smackdown, which is good because I don't have enough time to watch RAW.

Funny story, I can actually crochet (sp?). My great-grandmother taught me. Haven't done it in years though.
