Suicide = Underwhelming (sp?)?

So, finished off watching Final Resolution 2008 (the December incarnation of it, not January) and was psyched to finally see Suicide on our screens. First off, this must have been the least discussed PPV in history, didn't anyone watch it?!? So, back to Suicide, I remember when the segment first aired, there was SOOOO much hype about the Suicide character, and I really feel for TNA with the storyline, because it could have been something big, but it seems that unfortunately due to Kaz's injury all hype was lost, and now nobody seems to care about it. Is this going to be a shortlived life lesson, or is Vinny Ru going to run with it? I can understand why TNA had to debut Suicide, considering the hype and the tie in with the video game, but I was really hoping for something big, but so far considering the lack of response it all seems very underwhelming. OK, so I know he was on screen for all of 2 minutes, but even TNA seem to be at a loss with it already, I mean www.whoissuicide.com hasn't been updated or anything. Anyway, just my thoughts on the matter. I hope it plays out really well, and will be very interested to see where they take it, I just hope it gets a bit of momentum back soon.

Exactly, and didn't really impress me how he looked like he was hanging on to the wire for dear life, rather than some super human entity that fears nothing...but there is still hope.

But at least he was painless.

(Yes, a M*A*S*H* reference on the GDS boards... god, I feel old.)

Nonsense, they still have reruns on ... some channel. I watched a few episodes.

I didn't see the pay per view but from what I gather calling Kaz's reaction "luke-warm" would be an understatement. I like the rest of you had high hopes for the gimmick and still hope it pans out well for Kaz. I always thought though that with all hopes for the masked man a extremely talented high flier should have been under the hood. Kaz is skilled but I am talking like a crazy airwalker Sydal (of course it can't now, but TNA could of grabbed him at one point), Aries (TNA already had their chance), Low-Ki (again), London (hear he is giving up wrestling and going into acting..... great...), or even Jack Evans who I am sure is attainable. Someone who could do spots that would ooh the crowd something I don't think Kaz is capable of.

I have to disagree with this. Did you see the ultimate x match to finish off the world x cup? Kaz pulled off some big spots in that match.

I think he more than has the ability to pull off the sort of spots that you are after, whilst also having more talent than a typical spot-monkey.

By all means disagree!!! I LIKE Kaz. Alot actually. I had high hopes for him in his shortlived stint in the E. I don't believe I did see that match though. I wasn't trying to say that Kaz couldn't pull it off, I was just saying that I believed the Suicide character needed a little more than Kaz. LIKE the typical or maybe even exceptional spot monkey. Your right Kaz is not just a spot monkey. BUT I think the Suicide character SHOULD be. I dunno I just see it that way in my imagination. I GOT IT! They should of put the mask on Elix Skipper! That Power Plant kid could fly with the best of em and still look capable elsewhere. Anyway... I hope Kaz brings the character some.. character... makes him memorable.

I haven't seen him yet, however, darker gimmicks are always intriguing for me as a wrestling viewer (especially since we are lacking true characters these days).

However, after watching some of the videos I can't help but feel like TNA is incapable of making him "look good". What I mean by that is the videos are obviously lower budget... which can be good if used in a certain way... however they don't capitalize on that.

With characters like this you need a unique sense to them and the whole philosophical inner monologue approach doesn't seem to work in these videos. Maybe there needs to be a more menacing voice? Something a little more mysterious and shocking in a way.

With that being said, I really hope they can get something together for this character as it would be cool to watch.

IF TNA is going to match up with the WWE in any way down the road they need to create superstars (as we all know) and I really believe they could do well if they create "characters" and not just big men looking to fight. ya know? We have enough of those in the wrestling industry.
