Condors Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I have been holding events and cramming my lesser workers in tag team matches and dark matches while keeping my "main" show 2 hours long. I was wondering if length of the event has any effect on the show rating. Also wondered what is considered a Main match medium match or a minor match? I have always assumed it was the lowest pushed worker so lower midcarder and below minor match, midcarder is medium and upper midcarders and main eventers are the longest length.
Stennick Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 that main, medium, minor match is for the A.I not you. That has no bearing you can book Cornell vs. Dan Stone Jr. to go ten minutes in your main event if you want those are just guidelines for when the A.I runs that promotion. As far as length of your event and it affecting the show rating. Its not going to affect anything by itself. Remember the longer the show the more time you have to fill which usually means some lesser popular or skilled guys are going to get on the show which if not booked properly could drag the rating down. However you could also get away with booking two hours worth of just main eventers if you choose to. Its not like a one hour show can't get an A rating, and its not like a two hour show can't get one. Usually two hours booking the big promotions and one and a half on the cult level get it done for me. It gives me time to develop just a few guys without dragging the rating down while at the same time giving my skilled or over workers the time they need to maintain a solid show rating.
pepper2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Once, I accidentally put the match length of my semi-main event to 1 minute. Let just say the result is two grades lower than what it would usually get. So I think match length has an effect on the match grades depending on how high the match as compared in the card.
Stennick Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Sure you can't have your main event run for five minutes however I'm not sure there is much of a difference between a fifteen and twenty minute main event. But you look in the AI and in the SWF they want your main event to run 22 minutes. Well if I got runaway Train in my main event its not going that long.
takertitan Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 if any tv match goes longer than 6-8 min, you screwed up. Meet the base requirments for a good match and keep going. If i can turn in A shows a year into a tcw game twice a week with 4 hours of tv, you can too!
pepper2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Try running A shows 3x a week via TV and an A+ shows during PPV for consecutive months/years
