Show Ratings, Buy Rates and Game World

First Post, be nice! I'm TNA in my current game , played just over a year in game time, turned Global not too long ago. I ran a ppv today, got to the end of the results pretty confident it was going to turn out as an A, clicked through to be met with a B and i have no idea how it worked out as a B, comparing this show to the only other show i got an A on confused me even more. Today's B Rated Show Angle- B+ Angle- B Match-B Angle- B+ Angle- B Angle- B Match-B Angle- B- Angle- C- Angle-D Match C- Angle- B Match-D- Angle B- Angle B- Match-C+ Angle- B- Angle- C- Angle- D Match-C- Angle- B- Angle B- Match-B Angle- A Angle- B+ Match-A Angle B+ Angle B+ Match-A I won't post the show I compared it too since the length it would make this post, but its very simular, other than the last 2 matchs, Main Event was A, prior match was B-. obviously worse than the show above, but came out with an A. The only real difference in comparing these two shows is the Pre Show, The show that ended with an overall A rating started with a A at the start of the pre show, compared to the D+ start of the preshow of the card above. I didn't think the pre show affected anything to do with the overall show, am i wrong? I cant see how the show above got a B compared to the show that got the A. Any Help? Another issue I have is with PPV buyrates, Economy and Wrestling Industry must affect the buy rate surly? After checking the buy rates today it just looks odd, I have PPV's from months ago when the economy was lower, the wrestling industry lower, my overal popularity lower selling more than PPV's where the economy, industry and my overall popularity are much higher? Just don't get it... I get the fact that some events have more prestige (importance) than others and that fact makes it even more confusing when I see last years Sacrifice(normal importance-Show got B+) having a higher buy rate than this years Slammiversary (highly regarded-Show got an A) even with myself the economy and industry is much stronger currently than it was back then, not to mention the fact that I have more PPV coverage now to what i thought would increase the numbers.... Really confused with the above, any help would be great

Those might have something to do with it. An A show really shouldn't have a D- match on it...

so when 'Peaks and Valleys' is mentioned in terms of booking a show, it really means a peak to peak mountain, no valley?

Was there any note when you were at the last screen? Like you had advertised something that didn't happen, etc? O.o How long were the angles? I really wish that they were 6 minutes or longer, 'cause otherwise it wouldn't count to the overall show grade. :) And also the 6 or longer angles will raise the crowd level when the angles are rated B- or above.

No Notes at the end. every angle directly before a match was a 1 minute hype vid for the following match, most of the rest were 6 minutes and up, need more 6+?

Definitely more 6+ angles as they really contribute to the event itself, whether being calculated in the end to the overall grade or raising the crowd mood, those 6+ angles really help in entertainment biased promotions.

When I played WEXXV with 70/30 ratio, I only used 6min angles, and shortly after the main eventers skyrocketed to greatness: Larry Wood from D+ to A, Munemitsu Senmatsu from C to A, Ryu Kajahara from B to A* overall in Japan in just mere months, just because of good angles that used the Menace of these workers and/or Kajahara's "A" entertainment skill. The events themselves ended up rated way greater than the average of the matches.

Just going to post some thoughts in no order...

Buy rates... while the variables you have listed do contribute to your potential buy rate, you haven't named the biggest variable of all. Your advanced booked matches. The more heat they have going into the PPV, the more people will buy your shows. High buy rates come directly from big matches, so if you had some particularly big matches on your "smaller" PPVs then they'd get big buys. That is probably the key factor you've missed out on.

Pre show... doesn't have any effect on the show rating, but it can lower your crowd's mood before the show starts, so be wary of that.

As for your show rating... looking at the grades I'd have guessed it would get a B+, maybe an A on a good day. Lots of strong grades but I can't help thinking that all those angles were short and didn't contribute much to the overall show, leaving your show being based mostly on the matches involved. Here's your matches only...

B, B, C-, D-, C+, C-, B, A, A

That looks a lot less impressive now, but even then I'd have guessed a B+. The middle of the show looks to have really dragged you down overall if you did indeed not have any extra notes at the end of your show. But you've had some good advice here, I'm sure you'll bounce back with an even better show next time. :)

ah possibley the advanced booking could of been the problem with the buy rate, didn't think of that. The show before the ppv was a poor one too so probabley lowered the ratings of the advanced booked matchs.

Cheers for the help, I've put alot of time into my current game and its annoying to only ever have one A rated show so far.

Another thing that I guess could potentially harm your show: Your match before the main event and the main event itself were both A rated, however, there's nothing to say the semi-main event wasn't a higher A which may have led to the main event itself being a little disappointing - everyone wants to see the best match at the end of the night, and if it wasn't (even just slightly) then this could lower the show grade.

The game won't take the letter grade in consideration though, it'll only be working with the number - if your semi-main event overshadows your main event it's going to hurt your show. The first A may have been 0.1% off an A* whilst the 2nd may have been 0.1% off a B+ so there could even be quite a difference.

Can't really say which would of been higher, the feuds were both A rated going into the match, the semi main event had both B+ popularity workers where as the main event had an A and a A* popularityworkers , but the semi main event was a gimmick match with higher prestige than the standard one on one main event.
