Guest Ransik Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Just cause my other thread has a weird title....
- In a recent interview, Batista was asked about rumors he dated Kelly Kelly. Batista admitted they had dated, but said she was immature for a 21-year-old and it ended.
I find it funny the guy who whined and pissed and moaned his way into being World Champion because he felt other guys drawing more money and ratings than him wasn't fair.... calling ANYONE immature ridiculous. And furthermore, Dave is close to twice Kelly's age, that in itself I find to be a tad repulsive. Although it doesn't quite top Hogan dating a woman that looks exactly like his daughter.
KevBone Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 From another thread: Seriously guys....do we need another thread like this? These carbon-copy threads are getting a little ridiculous in that they never, ever seem to vary; Self will do a lengthy post and end with either "I need a new hobby" or "I have way too much time on my hands", Ransik will turn up to say how poor Batista is, Masked Orange will either try to start an argument or do some "comedy", we'll have an extended discussion on why the WWE is dropping the ball with <insert Internet favourite here>, and three pages later we'll have come to the conclusion that WWE poll results are meaningless, most GDS posters like wrestlers who have a good workrate, and WWE are going to continue pushing the same people they always do. I'm all for debate, but surely I'm not the only one who has noticed how repetitive these threads are?
darthsiddus2 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 dude not cool. this thread doesn't even count as a copy thread
Guest Ransik Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 From another thread: Uh-huh.... But there's been no discussion on these boards for weeks. If someone isn't replying to some Mafia thread the board is completely dead. I want to talk... I'm in bed for 2 days wiuth bronchitis and you people are boring me... so I posted some news.
KevBone Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 From the same thread: Nobody questioned that. What I said was that we don't need carbon-copy threads - there was one about Batista just a few days ago, there's no need to have another one saying exactly the same thing.
Guest Ransik Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Where are you even getting this stuff from? I haven't even seen Adam post in this forum for weeks.
Comradebot Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Where are you even getting this stuff from? I haven't even seen Adam post in this forum for weeks. The time stamp says the post he quoted from Ryland was made... Today!
BurningHamster Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 It's from that there This is really bugging me... thread by Masked Orange However if it's discussion you want I will oblige. Batista is very very very very terrible As are those bloody mafia threads

BurningHamster Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I am against all forms of organised crime, but especially that perpetrated by lousy eyetalians. Also I don't understand the game and have no real interest in it, and there are way too many mafia games going on and it just clogs up everything with Doogie Howser Mafia this and Scatman Mafia that.

Scatman? Doogie I followed.... lovable lil scamp... always writing on his Commodore 64 trying to make a journal of his antics as a teenage doctor. But you lost me right after that. And yeah, haven't looked in that thread yet. But hey... if Adam prefers a dead board over discussion than more power to him, that's his call.

I agree, the 3 Mafia themed threads on the first page of The Dog Pound are just hell to wade through
Derek B Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I agree, the 3 Mafia themed threads on the first page of The Dog Pound are just hell to wade through Careful, with thoughts like that you'll make people once again raise the idea of a seperate sub-forum for mafia games. And with me being dead, I can't bear to think about it. I'm going to change the direction of this thread. Ransik, what was the last match you really enjoyed? I know you look at things with a heavily criticial view, but I assume that also makes you appreciate things on a different level. So what was the last match in a major promotion that you just went "that was good" at?

So what was the last match in a major promotion that you just went "that was good" at? Angle vs. Jarrett. Honestly I know some of what Angle said was ad-libbed and Jarrett was genuinely upset at it... so seeing the emotion build into a good match just made it better for me. Although... clean win would've been nice but both TNA and WWE are guilty of advertising huge matches and 99% of the time failing to deliver a clean finish.
Derek B Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Angle vs. I enjoyed that match too. The kayfabing, or at least the blurring of reality and fiction, of the veterans vs young lions stuff makes the entire storyline that much more interesting and a lot of the Angle/Jarrett promos have hit some material that is clearly a raw nerve for anyone who knows the story behind it, and also comes across as below the belt for anyone who doesn't know the story too. On thing wrestling has long since lost touch with that deeply saddens me is a sense of reality. For all the WWE is knocked for being miles from reality, it really is a lot closer than most indy promotions are ever going to be. Intricate submission holds and flashy high flying moves may excite a crowd, but when it comes to wrestling, those just aren't practical. A few tried and tested moves, some big punches and some special techniques that have been "mastered" by individual workers is a lot more realistic than most of what you see. In fact, even the WWE personas are pretty realistic... though the storylines are obviously somewhere over the horizon and far beyond reality. Some guys are silly and over the top, but mostly they are in real life too. Some guys are antisocial egomaniacs, but they are in real life too. The attitude era brought us over the top exaggerations of personalities... and since then, we've drifted more towards exaggerated realistic personas. It's not as fun and it's not as exciting... but WWE still makes money and does good business out of it. And it can't be easy trying to build up a bad ass wrestler from every major new market they want to break into, especially not when their home markets want to boo the "evil" foreigners all the time. Sometimes I sympathise with the WWE... but at the same time, I know they are happy to sacrifice critical acclaim in favour of money, so those sympathies often get thrown out the window til I feel the need to talk on the net a bit more. As for TNA... I really enjoy them just now. They aren't diluting themselves across the world so they can concentrate on buiding characters more easily. A lot of the guys there are clearly enjoying what they are doing and the next generation of stars are being put over pretty well in a storyline that clearly has an expiry date on it. So with the veterans not staying around for much longer, the last 6 months or so of TNA has been enjoyable cos I KNOW (as a smark myself) that in the end, the young stars are going to triumph. And this makes me very happy. As does seeing Jeff Jarrett on screen, if only because it sometimes felt like I was the only one who could understand that Jarrett as champion encouraged more viewers than AJ as champion. At least back then, probably not now.
