DAVE and booking hardcore

I always thought of DaVE as ECW. The good and the bad. They had some amazing technical, high flying action, however they also had a lot of blood and guts hardcore wrestling. I never played as DaVE and never had much desire to but thats how I looked at them.

I think it's pretty safe to make the ECW/DAVE comparison when it comes to booking.

You're going to want a lot of strong hardcore wrestlers, however, you can also utilize the other forms of talent that you have on the roster. While ECW was a hardcore company... Shane Douglas was arguably their... well.. Franchise! He wasn't hardcore... He was a typical technician caught in the middle of a hardcore company.

Every show should have at least one or two hardcore matches... You can get creative with how they are considered "hardcore". Some will have specific matches designed as hardcore... Others will work under the assumption that weapons are always legal... however.. some matches just turn out being singles matches (and not hardcore matches) since no weapons were involved.

I have played a very long game with DAVE back in 07, and in 08 I have played WEXXV and BBW (Cornellverse 97') so I might have some good advice.

1. High risk matches. They don't have to necessarily be Hardcore based: Ladder, Tables and Cage matches can raise the match grade aswell. The more riskier and more dangerous the match is, the better it will be rated within a Hardcore biased product. Use Hardcore matches with the workers who have average/good Hardcore skill, and the other matches with the workers who aren't so Hardcore.

2. Angles. DAVE is Hardcore Entertainment, so use 6+ angles frequently with your top workers.. You can also change the match/angle ratio to 70%, and if you want turn off the strict storylines. Use your most entertaining workers, like Phil Vibert and Nemesis (If I remember correctly he had good entertainment skills?) so that you can raise the crowd mood (Angles that are rated B- or higher).

And in TEW08 "Menace" stat is what "Sex Sells" angles were in TEW07. Use "Monster unleashed" type of angles which are rated on Menace instead of the usual beatdowns (Overness - Overness)

Remember to use your managers, like Emma Chase and Phil Vibert.

There's nothing more into it I think. Good luck with your game, hope my tips helped. :)
