Guest Ransik Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Horrid worker, he'll be hanging around like Snitsky for 3 years and then get released... and no one will care.
Comradebot Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 Horrid worker, he'll be hanging around like Snitsky for 3 years and then get released... and no one will care. So you're planning to vote for.... option 3 then, I take it?
Prophet Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 In America, Kosloff is awesome ... in Russia, awesome is Kosloff! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=390143&d=1213313993 (Yes, yes, I went the Yakov Smirnoff avenue. ) (Kozlov is purposefully misspelled, to accentuate the way Yakov spoke, or at least how I remember he spoke.)
GatorBait19 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 he sucks in the eyes of a WWE fan who wants entertainment, he should be in ROH were people who are good at wrestling can shine, in WWE he is hurt because he can cut a promo and question if Vince is so big on people cutting promos why do people like Mark Henry and Valdmir pushed, yes I understand because of the size but it still makes no sense it's like if you have size, you don't have to know how to wrestler, or for that fact speak english and if you aren't big, you better know how to wrestle and cut a damn good promo
BurningHamster Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I like the way he hangs around being big and Russian (well, Ukrainian) and sort of knocking people over. It brings back all my fond childhood memories of the cold war.
Masked Superstar Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Vlad rules the "double double E"!!!!!!!!! Koslov is cool as he!!. The dude will literally tear your limbs off of your torso.
Self Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I like Vladamir Koslov. No joke. No sarcasm. I know he's not the best 'wrestler' out there, but you know what, he doesn't need to be able to sell. He doesn't need all those technical skills. His character just needs to deliver convincing offense, and for the most part he does that. The biggest reason I like him is that he's a new face. He isn't one of the same main event players we've had for the last decade. He hasn't been bumming around the midcard for years, trying to 'prove himself', but instead only succeeding in me getting bored with him. He's brand new. I like that.
The Shape Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 The chokeslam thing was cool. Much better than the headbutt, which to me usually looks really really weak as a finisher.
James Casey Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I like Vladamir Koslov. No joke. No sarcasm. I know he's not the best 'wrestler' out there, but you know what, he doesn't need to be able to sell. He doesn't need all those technical skills. His character just needs to deliver convincing offense, and for the most part he does that. This, basically. What he does is simple, but cool. I like the fact that he hasn't been built as unstoppable, exactly - just very good at what he does. Stevie Richards was able to expose a weakness, and so have others - so he's beatable, which makes him more interesting.
cappyboy Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 In America, Kosloff is awesome ... in Russia, awesome is Kosloff! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=390143&d=1213313993 (Yes, yes, I went the Yakov Smirnoff avenue. ) (Kozlov is purposefully misspelled, to accentuate the way Yakov spoke, or at least how I remember he spoke.) Not to take this thread too far afield is I do like Kozlov as well. But am I the only one who keeps wishing Yakov Smirnoff would show up on one of these Dancing With The Former Stars type shows or some such thing? Granted the guy couldn't do the old starry eyed immigrant shtick anymore. But I'm surprised we haven't heard from him on Sasha Baron Cohen doing Borat or as an embassy employee on a show like a Spin City or The West Wing or something. It would be difficult at best for him ever to regain the heights he had in the 80's when he was all starry-eyed. But a reflective Smirnoff could be a different kind of cool if he was able to retain the positivity of his heyday despite losing the naivete.
Comradebot Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 In seriousness... I love Vladimir Kozlov. Yes, its no secret I have a soft spot for the big, plodding monsters (my favorite TNA star is Matt Morgan!), and anyone who has listened to me ramble about EWA knows I love Russians. Kozlov is a real life combination of those two loves in wrestling. (Well, he's Ukranian... but close enough.) He's a major throwback to the 70s and 80s of this big, menacing, Russian heel who simply decimates everyone in his path. As someone else put it, it reminds me of the Cold War. In-ring, sure, he's nothing spectacular... but he's sure as hell better than some of the big men in the "E". He's only been wrestling for, what, two years? And already he's miles ahead of guys like Khali. And he plays his role perfectly. He's not meant to be the technical wizard, but the intense, devastating powerhouse. And in that regard, he rocks. And while he isn't charismatic, I still like listening to his promos... again, reminds me of the Cold War and that is a form of amusement that will never get old for me. As for Ransik... no, Kozlov is not Snitsky. Snitsky was just another generic ( "RAWR IMMA BIG AND SCARY GUY" style monster... he was like Kane Lite. Kozlov is a more unique style big man in the WWE. That, along with some honest in-ring potential that I see, should mean Vladimir Kozlov is terrorizing the WWE for some time to come. The only thing that could really, really screw him up is whenever his winning streak ends if they suddenly turn him into a massive jobber. They need to look at what TNA has done with Awesome Kong. He needs to lose eventually, but his losses should come as very rare events. Sincerely, The President of the Boris Kiriyakin fanclub
tjb000 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Jeez, so many great options to choose from.. I can't pick just one! Seriously though, I love me some Kozlov. This is coming from someone who use to loathe big men in wrestling. I guess I grew out of my 'smart mark' days where I'd only 'cream my pants' over someone like Bryan Danielson. I have a broader liking to wrestling now. But I'm getting off subject here. Kozlov is a pretty good wrestler. He's a machine. He's still pretty green though and can be unsafe and stiff at times, but that's part of his charm, in my opinion. Also, as mentioned, he's not an ultra-charismatic performer, but for some reason, I dig his mic work. Overall, Kozlov is great. I like him. That's that.
wilts Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 In TEW, I love to book him. There is a hell of a lot that I can do with him, and I can pretend that his personality and skills interest me. In real life though, it is a vastly different story. I find him bland, boring, talentless. And as for his finisher, the battering ram, bitch please! If 5 year old kids can take that on the play ground and just laugh it off, then why can't Trips? Seriously, he needs a much more convincing finisher before I even consider taking him seriously, and not viewing him as just the flavour of the month, that will be discontinued in the very near future.
Tha Black Phenom Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I don't mind Kozlov, tis all. Wouldn't have actually minded seeing him become champion, even. Only thing is, in some aspects they could've done much better with him. I feel on several occasions they missed on a few opportunities to make his character even better and performant. I don't like the headbutt either, looks like a poor man's Pounce. Here's to hoping he sticks a Russian flag up someone's ass in the future. Literally. Like after a beatdown. Someone like Taker.
