ok guys, here is an update. i still got no power. been out since thursday night and the electic company says it could be atleast 2 to 3 more before we could have power. which sucks cause my laptop died 2 days ago so i cant even play tew to pass the time. i hope to be back on soon. missing not being able to do renders or even use my stove to cook.

ok guys here is an update......i am going into day 7 of no power whcih is really starting to piss me off cause the 3 streets around me all have power but i dont. worse than that we had 2-3 inches of snow yesterday and another 6-12 inches coming friday afternoon. i am hoping that they get me on before the snow comes cause if not then i dont plan on having any till after xmas. the electic company told me it should be on in a day or 2 just like they did yesterday and 3 days before that. i wanna go shoot whoever is in charge there for having me sit in the dark for 7 days andto tell me that getting my power back should not be my top concern. WELL I HOPE TO BE BACK UP AND RUNNING AGAIN SOON. I GOT WORK TO DO

This from the ice storm that hit the Northeast?

 

I remember a few years ago, when hurricane Francis (I think) ran roughshod on the east coast of Florida. I ended up powerless for just shy of 4 weeks. That was a blast.

I am from central mass, I am currently at a friends house that finally got power, so I will be here till I get power, thanks for caring guys

 

I wish I lived in florida, since sunday it has been inbetween 9 and 20 degrees here.

I miss living up north. Granted, it's not with the same child-like exuberance as when I was a wee lad, and wanted to run out in the snow, and use that little plastic saucer to propel myself downhill at 112 mph towards a tree, but winter in Florida feels like watching Halle Berry in Catwoman. You should enjoy it, because it's hot, but something about the whole experience feels very wrong. lol

 

However, when I went back to upstate NY, a few years ago, in the middle of March, no less, I spent the entire time huddled up inside my leather jacket. I think my nostalgia comes simply from not having to experience it. lol

I live in Iowa and we're suppose to be getting a fairly nasty storm here tonight through tomorrow. Then it's suppose to get freezing cold. My FireFox weather toolbar says that the high for next Monday is -2. Negative Freakin' Two!

 

I lived in Atlanta for a couple years. Grew up in Iowa, moved to Georgia, then moved back here to Iowa. I actually like the cooler weather here than I did the hot summers down south. I'll take cold any day of the year over humidity. Just my opinion though.

 

Not sure what our chances are of losing power, but I remember losing internet connection for a couple days last year during winter storms.

yea, that storm that your getting I will get after you, we are supposed to be getting 8 to 16 inches of snow which I am dreading cause I still have no power.

I hope you keep warm though. I can't even fathom what it'd be like to go without power for as long as you have now. I've been powerless before, due to winter storms (and other storms), but not for a long period of time. At least from what I remember anyways.

 

Times like this I miss living down south.

 

Like I said, hopefully you'll be able to stay at your friend's house and stay warm until you get power back. Also hope this upcoming storm won't cause you to go powerless again either.

 

EDIT: Just checked it outside to see what the weather was like. It's pretty nasty at the moment. I could hardly see the snow plow with flashing lights go by. Thankfully I have nowhere to go or things to do for the time being.

New England got hit pretty bad. Over 400,000 without power in NH alone, I believe, which, I guess the biggest power outage they ever dealt with before that was 50,000 or something like that.

 

I think they've handled it very well considering that. I've only heard about things from the NH side mostly, though.

 

Also, several people who I know, including my father had their cars destroyed by falling trees and whatnot.

I consider myself lucky. I know Fla has the nice weather but get the horricans alot and NY gets alot of snow. Im inbetween both in MARYLAND and we dont get much action THANK GOD! i can't go without power, Like somone said ^there an hour without internet is very boreing. Altho i have to say i hope you guys are going to be ok thru the storms. I know i dont know you guys and all but i don't like to see anyone go without power expecially when its wintertime. I know some of the families have little babies. My prayers are with you guys thru the storms

Thanks, well I'm going into day 9 without power and still the electric company tells me it could take another 2 days cause of the massive snow we are gettin up here, which sucks cause I have no power. thankfully my buddy got power yesterday so I had to travel 50 miles east to go to his house so I can atleast eat a hot meal and bath. but yea I'm getting sick of my electric company :mad::mad:
