Kobe1724 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I know Cornellverse is fiction, but who do you guys think the big name wrestlers were influenced off of, if anyone. Sam Strong = Hogan Bruce = Andre the Giant Cornell = Shawn Michaels pre-comeback (maybe)
infinitywpi Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Is it time for this thread to get re-posted already?
Stennick Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 This thread has been being done for about every three months since the dawn of the Cornellverse. However that being said I don't really think anybody is SUPPOSED to be anybody. Of course some things are very similar but nobody is supposed to be anyone. That being said when I book a promotion I tend to look at guys and match them up with "real life counterparts" Rocky Golden - He's young, he's great looking, nice body, very powerful, good charisma but can't work a lick and he's in a wrestling oriented promotion. To me thats Lex Luger. Christian Faith - He took over being the star of the promotion after Chord and Strong left. He ushered in a the "smaller main eventer", he can talk and work, he's now the older member of the roster still putting on A matches with all of the younger kids. To me thats Shawn Michaels. Runaway Train - A big man that was brought in and given an immediate push as the ultimate moster heel. He dominated the promotion for the entire time he's been in there but now his career is winding down and he's being phased out of the title scene. To me thats the Undertaker. I got a bunch more but that'll do for now.

There are similarities to The Undertaker, but 'Taker has always seemed like a much better worker than Train is. Same with Kane, really. Train seems like he would be kinda awkward in the ring. Not a terrible worker, but not a great one. Someone who gets by mostly on size and power rather than real skill. That seems someone more like Sid Vicious or Kevin Nash, to me.
Stennick Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I agree Train isn't a good worker. I was thinking from the big man, monster heel, push from the very start, winding down his career sort of aspect of the whole thing.
G-Prime Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Not only does this kind thread do the rounds, the last thread to come round is still on the front page...
Regis Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Congratulations, Kobe! For being the 1,000,000th person to start this thread, you win the internet! Use your powers for good.
Thomnipotent Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 The Internet (World Project) Cost: 2000 (Double Production Speed w/ Copper) Requires: Computers Effects: Grants all technologies held by at least 2 known civilizations. Kobe... your head would look good on the end of a pole. This means war! And I intend to steal the city in which you have won The Internet.
