beamernuts
I've seen this in a number of the play logs for games I've looked at. There is a mysterious change of possession even though no turnover has occurred. New Mexico has a first down and then suddenly it is Marshall's ball. Any explanations? New Mexico St ball, Q1, 1-10-NMSU33 (00:01) 3-24 Offense: Outside Run, Set: Quads, Play: Q-HB-counter-RT Defense: Normal, Set: Nickel, Play: Nickel-norm-DZ-B8 RB P. Edwards runs right end for -5 yards (DE T. Wilson). New Mexico St ball, Q1, 1-10-NMSU33 (00:01) 3-24 Offense: Outside Run, Set: Quads, Play: Q-HB-counter-RT Defense: Normal, Set: Nickel, Play: Nickel-norm-DZ-B8 DE Tory Wilson (MRSH) was injured on the play (Lower Leg). It doesn't look too serious and he should return. Marshall ball, Q2, 1-10-NMSU27 (15:00) 24-3 Offense: Short Pass, Set: SingleBack, Play: SB-TE-flat-FL-curl Defense: Stop Pass, Set: 3-4, Play: 34-pass-MZ QB J. Rechichar completes a 10 yard dump off to WR F. Kreider (OOB).
Cooleyvol
There are a few instances of 'hidden' fumbles. I think that's the culprit here. Check the boxscore and see if P. Edwards is credited with a fumble lost.
Arlie Rahn
Cooley's right. It's a display issue with the PBP. It may occur more often when an injury occurs (overwrites the fumble display).
