Shalabi Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I see fighters demanding 100/100 from me. then if i decide to get rid of them instead, they tend to go to another org for much less money. Not all, but some. Im wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if there's a way to exploit it to my benefit.
UFC-KING Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 First of all, how big is your company, traditionally, the bigger the company, the more fighters demand, I had Wilson Franklyn with a 5-0 Record, and demanded 50k for fighting. So it's not a big problem, the last thing I would do though is fire them.
Shalabi Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 ahhh, yeah im Affliction which is now the biggest org so i guess it stands to reason. I usually dont fire them; However, some guys get one win over a has-been fighter like, in my case, Paul Buentello who signed for 100k then lost 5 straight. Those fighters i simply cut because theyre still sub-par but deman elite rates. also, King you might know this, I constantly get sub-par audiences at PPVs even when i have exciting fights and highly anticipated matchups. Is that also due to how big my org is?
samuricex Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 The audience numbers depend on a lot of things. Ticket prices, area economy, how popular you are in the area, and how accepted MMA is in the area.
Shalabi Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 gotcha, thanks guys! Slow learner here.... i blame it on the muscle relaxers. half asleep all the time cuz of them. stupid esophagus!
badbeat Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 also, King you might know this, I constantly get sub-par audiences at PPVs even when i have exciting fights and highly anticipated matchups. Is that also due to how big my org is? Just like the real Affliction
Cade Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 <p>your lucky my guys demand 1mill/1mill and my lowest guys want 625k/625k</p><p> </p><p> i read somewhere on the forum that paying your guys good money leads to other org's closing i listened to that and tried it in the hope affliction would die so i can get Fedor .</p><p> </p><p> 6 years on no luck no orgs have closed and i have a 20 million dollar bill for fighters on my shows.</p><p> </p><p> i guess im stuck paying the big dollars</p>
Derek B Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Its the Pay Parity feature kicking in. Workers will demand equal pay of someone that is about the same level as they are. This is fine if all your fighters are on the rise, as paying them all the same for guys who are worth more is pretty handy... but the problem becomes when players are then holding on to guys who are losing, yet paying them a salary equal to the higher ups. The lower guys suddenly see this lower guy being paid a lot more than them and begin to demand higher salaries too... and left unchecked, this leads to you overpaying everyone. The solution... you need to nip it in the bud early. If someone isn't performing well and is getting paid more than they are worth, you fire them. If you don't, then everyone is going to want more money because they are at least as good as your former star is now.
Cade Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 <p>so am i stuck or is it possible to get it back down to 200/200 like in the beginning of the game?</p><p> </p><p> i have about 5 guys on 5 fight losing streaks but i just dont use them as it will cost me about 4million each to terminate so i will just not use them but its hurting my relationship with the fighters</p>
Derek B Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 It won't be easy, that's for sure. This is one of the features that in the long run may not have panned out quite as it should have, but you should still be able to work it down by firing people. It will hurt for a while, but the more overpaid people you can fire/release/not renew in the short term, the better you will be in the long term. The fighters might not like you for a while, but you will recover and in the end you should be able to bring the wage bill down again. The top end fighters will probably always end up being paid a LOT, but bringing down the cost of your undercard, especially if you can sign no-names for as little as possible, should help bring the wage bill down.
Cade Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 <p>thanks for the help derek b much appreciated just started a big cull cost me 30 million <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> also guysit appears i forgot to resign 2 of the original PPV deals i had in america, issue now is i cant resign them because my other america PPV company is blocking the signing saying they have exclusive rights but before i did have 3 deals in america</p><p> </p><p> now my PPV income dropped from 90mil to 30mil</p><p> </p><p> with a fighters bill of nearly 20mil i can see my UFC collapsing <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
Tag01 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Does anyone know the trick to getting multiple PPV contacts in one region? The computer always manages to do it in my games, but I always get blocked.
Derek B Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 You shouldn't be able to get multiple providers per area/state at all. A lot of datasets for WMMA and TEW start with companies having multiple TV/PPV deals in each area/state, but they can't/won't be renewed in either game.
