MrCanada Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 GAMMA 11 Results Billy Miles defeated Rob Yundt * --Round 2--Yundt tries to grab a guillotine, but can't get it. Left hand, connects, from Miles. That landed hard on the chin, and that convinces the referee to get in and stop the match. A controversial decision. Official time of the TKO is 4:37 of the second. Jess Liaudin defeated Dorian Price * All three judges give a score of 30-27 in favour of Jess Liaudin. Luke Zachrich defeated Jason Lambert ** --Round 1--Lambert tries to scramble into a better position, but Zachrich grabs an arm and tries to lock a hold in. Lambert bucks him over, and manages to wind up on top, but Zachrich still has the arm, and now has his legs wrapped around it. Lambert hits a flurry of left hands to the back and thighs of Zachrich, who is almost upside down now. It's no good though, as Lambert cannot get his arm free, and as soon as Zachrich starts to sink the hold in fully, there's no choice but to tap out. Official time of the armbar submission is 3:22 of the first round. Seth Petruzelli defeated Elvis Sinosic * Seth Petruzelli wins the match, getting a score of 30-27 from all three judges. Gilbert Melendez defeated Joachim Hansen ** The judges scores are unanimous, and give a score of 30-27 to Gilbert Melendez Jake Shields defeated Diego Sanchez ** --Round 1--The two fighters meet in the center with an exchange of jabs, but neither gets anything but gloves or air. They go right into a clinch, with only a few seconds of the match gone. Shields gets a knee to the ribs in, but it wasn't particularly hard. They break. Sanchez gets caught with a solid right hand out of nowhere, and is rocked. Shields follows up with another one, and Sanchez looks in trouble all of a sudden. He is backed up against the ropes and Shields is unloading. The punches are raining down, Sanchez is covering up. The referee has seen enough and stops the fight, clearly feeling that Sanchez was unable to defend himself intelligently. Shields wins. Official time of the TKO is 1:19 of the first. Josh Thomson retained the GAMMA Lightweight title over Din Thomas *** --Round 2--Thomson pushes him away and steps in to score with an uppercut. Thomas took it flush on the chin and is rocked! Another right hand drops Thomas against the ropes, and Thomson follows up by unloading with a barrage of punches. The referee gets in and pulls Thomson away, he wins the match by TKO. Thomson wins via 2nd round TKO with the official time being 3:32. Josh Thomson is still the GAMMA Lightweight champion. NOTES: Din Thomas looked really impressive. He won round 1, and was on his way to winning round 2. Diego Sanchez may want to be dropping down in weight. He can defeat up-and-comers and such in welterweight, but when faced with real competition crumbles. A match vs. Nick Diaz may be in his future and depending on the outcome his last match at welterweight. I signed a plethora of fighters between GAMMA 10 and 11: Allen Berube (3-2) lightweight Andy Wang (5-7) lightweight Ben Gallant (3-1) heavyweight Ben Rothwell (33-7) heavyweight Chad Griggs (7-1) heavyweight Dave Herman (12-0) heavyweight Jeremy May (5-5) middleweight Jesse Forbes (7-3) middleweight Justin Eilers (21-8-1) heavyweight Kalib Sarnes (12-3-1) middleweight Lyman Good (7-0) middleweight Nick Klein (3-0) middleweight -With these signings I asked Kalib Starnes to move up a division to light heavyweight, which he did. Also asked Daniel Puder to move down a division into light heavyweight. No one else wanted to change weights at this point. -Phillipe Nover has expressed interest in moving up to Welterweight, which may happen. However he is possibly next in line for a lightweight title shot with him and Melendez racing to the gold ring. GAMMA 12 MAIN EVENT GAMMA Heavyweight Championship Heavyweight Division Josh Barnett (27-5) defends vs. Antonio Silva (14-1) Lightweight division: Charles Bennett (21-15-2) vs. Phillipe Nover (10-0-1) Middlweight division: David Loiseau (21-8) vs. Travis Lutter (10-7) Heavyweight division: Brad Imes (13-8) vs. Rameau Theirry Sokoudjou (6-6) Welterweight division: War Machine (8-4) vs. Richie Hightower (8-4) Light Heavyweight division: Ricardo Arona (15-6) vs. Kyle Kingsbury (8-3) Middlweight division: Lyman Good (7-0) vs. Patrick Schultz (6-2-1) Welterweight division: Pete Spratt (19-16) vs. Johnny Rees (11-5) Lightweight division: Marcus Aurelio (19-9) vs. Shane Nelson (10-4) Light Heavyweight division: Edwin Dewees (37-15) vs. Dante Rivera (11-5)

MrCanada Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 GAMMA 12 Edwin Dewees defeated Dante Rivera * The official scores are: 30-27 (twice), 29-28 for Edwin Dewees. Marcus Aurelio defeated Shane Nelson The judges scores are unanimous, and give a score of 30-27 to Marcus Aurelio. Pete Spratt defeated Johnny Rees * --Round 1--Spratt hits a wicked uppercut, taking Rees completely by surprise, then starts wailing away with lefts and rights. Rees can only cover up against the ferocious attack, but that doesn't stop a couple of big shots landing. More shots rain down, and Rees is getting obliterated, he can't throw any counter punches as he can't move his hands down without getting hit again, and he can't get past Spratt to safety either. The referee finally sees enough and covers Rees up. Spratt wins via TKO at 4:19 of the first round. Lyman Good defeated Patrick Schultz --Round 2--Schultz is leaning a little too far forward, which Good notices and tries for a guillotine. Schultz didn't seem to see it coming, and is caught! Good wraps it up tightly and forces Schultz to tap out! Good wins via guillotine submission at 3:41 of the second round. Ricardo Arona defeated Kyle Kingsbury * --Round 1--He tries to apply a choke hold, but Kingsbury defends it. However, in doing so, he leaves his left arm exposed, and Arona is able to float over and trap it inbetween his legs. Arona falls forward and pulls, forcing Kingsbury to tap out rather than have his arm hyper-extended. Arona wins via 1st round armbar submission with the official time being 0:46. War Machine defeated Richie Hightower * War Machine wins, with a score of 30-27 from two judges, 29-28 from the other. Brad Imes defeated Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou** --Round 1--Another right hand finds its way through, landing right above the eye, stunning Sokoudjou. With his opponent's wits scrambled, Imes moves from the guard into a mount with ease, and starts unloading with rights and lefts. Sokoudjou tries to cover up, but is getting decimated, and the referee is forced to come in and pull Imes off, signalling the win. Imes wins via TKO at 1:32 of the first round. David Loiseau defeated Travis Lutter** The official scores are: 30-27 (David Loiseau), 29-28 (Travis Lutter), 29-28 (David Loiseau). David Loiseau wins by split decision. Phillipe Nover defeated Charles Bennett** --Round 1--Nover works his way onto the right-hand side of the body, Bennett unable to do much to stop him. Bennett tries to scrabble out of trouble, but finds his right arm is trapped under the body of Nover, who is quick to turn that situation into an armbar attempt. Bennett desperately tries to turn them both over to alleviate the pressure, but there is no way he can move Nover from that position, he has no leverage at all. Nover cinches in the armbar and Bennett has to tap out. Nover wins via 1st round armbar submission with the official time being 1:47. Josh Barnett retained the GAMMA Heavyweight championship defeating Antonio Silva ** --Round 1--Silva turtles up, but not before taking a brutal punch just below the left ear. The crowd certainly reacted to that shot. Barnett, clearly sensing it's time to kill this match off, starts throwing bombs from either side, smashing into the side of Silva's face. Silva tries to cover up, but it's futile; the referee pulls Barnett off to save Silva from any further punishment. Barnett wins via 1st round TKO with the official time being 1:27. Josh Barnett is still the GAMMA Heavyweight champion. -SIGNED-I signed Paul Kelly and Terry Etim who just left the UFC. Each without having a fight since the beginning of the game. They both come in with impressive records and make the lightweight division possibly the deepest division I have. -RELEASED- Dante Rivera, Charles Bennett, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou --Phillipe Nover is making a serious case to get a lightweight title shot, but with the signings of Kelly & Etim on top of a deep division, Nover might see himself get his wish to move up to Welterweight for a possible matchup with GSP in the future. Paul Kelly defeated Jorge Gugel * The three judges all give the match as 29-28 to Paul Kelly. Kit Cope defeated Jess Liaudin ** --Round 2--Liaudin turns and swings, just as Cope also unloads...and it's Cope who connects first! Liaudin's hands drop and he is on rubbery legs. Cope follows up with a beauty of a right hand, and that drops Liaudin. The referee doesn't even wait for Cope to dive in to finish, he's seen enough, Liaudin is clearly on Dream Street. This bout is over! The official time is 1:33. Kalib Starnes defeated Elvis Sinosic * All three judges give a score of 30-27 to Kalib Starnes. Duane Ludwig defeated Joachim Hansen ** The official scores are: 30-27 from all three judges for Duane Ludwig. Ben Rothwell defeated Aleksander Emelianenko ** --Round 1--Emelianenko steps to the side to get a better angle, then steps in...and this time the scorching head kick that comes his way catches him unaware and lands flush to the side of the jaw! Emelianenko goes completely limp as he crash-lands to the ground, that was a brutal knock out kick. Official time of the knock out is 1:56 of the first round Jason Lambert defeated Frank Trigg ** --Round 3--There's a small lull as Lambert continues to try and get the mount. There it is, Trigg finally couldn't stop it. Lambert starts firing off punches, and Trigg has nowhere to go. A big elbow gets through. A right hand lands on the nose of Trigg. The referee is watching intently, I don't think he's going to let this go much longer unless Trigg can come up with some answers. Lambert hits another big elbow. And another. The referee leaps in, it's over! Lambert wins via third round TKO at 1:40. Dave Herman defeated Alistair Overeem ** The judges scores are unanimous, and give a score of 29-28 to Dave Herman. Kazuo Misaki defeated Paulo Filho to win the GAMMA Middlweight championship ** --Round 2--Filho gets caught with a solid right hand out of nowhere, and is rocked. Misaki follows up with another one, and Filho looks in trouble all of a sudden. He is backed up against the ropes and Misaki is unloading. The punches are raining down, Filho is covering up. The referee has seen enough and stops the fight, clearly feeling that Filho was unable to defend himself intelligently. Misaki wins. Official time of the TKO is 1:23 of the second. Kazuo Misaki wins the GAMMA Middleweight title. Tito Ortiz retained the GAMMA Light Heavyweight title defeating Seth Petruzelli *** The official scores are: 50-45 (twice), 49-46 for Tito Ortiz. Diaz tries to bring his free leg in to add some leverage, but Sanchez swats it aside and gets the full mount. Luke Zachrich defeated Nick Klein * Luke Zachrich wins, with a score of 29-28 from two judges, 30-27 from the other. Justin Eilers defeated Ben Gallant * --Round 1--Eilers hits a wicked uppercut, taking Gallant completely by surprise, then starts wailing away with lefts and rights. Gallant can only cover up against the ferocious attack, but that doesn't stop a couple of big shots landing. More shots rain down, and Gallant is getting obliterated, he can't throw any counter punches as he can't move his hands down without getting hit again, and he can't get past Eilers to safety either. The referee finally sees enough and covers Gallant up. The official time is 4:37. Jess Liaudin defeated Pete Spratt ** --Round 2--Spratt tries to scramble into a better position, but Liaudin grabs an arm and tries to lock a hold in. Spratt bucks him over, and manages to wind up on top, but Liaudin still has the arm, and now has his legs wrapped around it. Spratt hits a flurry of left hands to the back and thighs of Liaudin, who is almost upside down now. It's no good though, as Spratt cannot get his arm free, and as soon as Liaudin starts to sink the hold in fully, there's no choice but to tap out. Official time of the armbar submission is 2:15 of the second round. Marcus Aurellio defeated Joachim Hansen ** --Round 2--Aurelio pushes him away and steps in to score with an uppercut. Hansen took it flush on the chin and is rocked! Another right hand drops Hansen against the ropes, and Aurelio follows up by unloading with a barrage of punches. The referee gets in and pulls Aurelio away, he wins the match by TKO. Aurelio wins via second round TKO at 1:31 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira defeated Murilo Rua ** --Round 2--Nogueira takes the left arm, Ninja couldn't defend it any longer. George St. Pierre retained the GAMMA Welterweight title defeating Diego Sanchez **** --Round 1--GSP works an angle and comes in from the side of Sanchez, getting two good jabs in before a ragged left misses by quite a margin. Sanchez hits a low kick to back GSP against the ropes, then works the body with a series of short punches. GSP fights out and the action returns to the center. Sanchez hits a low kick, then moves in for a jab. GSP saw it coming and unloads with an enormous punch to the jaw. Sanchez goes down immediately, he has been knocked clean out by the power of GSP. GSP wins via knock out at 2:57 of the first round. Georges St. Pierre successfully retains the GAMMA Welterweight title. --UFC just had a mass resigning period/exodus period. Among those leaving UFC (and hopefully joining me by next show) are: Alvin Robertson, Thales Leites, Jorge Rivera, Ed Herman, Kurt Pellegrino, Luigi Fioravanti, Ryan Jansen, Pete Sell, Heath Herring, Dennis Silver. Some have already signed contracts with littler companies, but of course wont leave quite yet, but I have strong hope in getting Leites (YAY) and Herring. --Apparently Diego just cant hang with GSP. I'm thinking a move to lightweight is needed after two failed title shots. I think GSP's only hope of a (non-fluke) loss from someone on my current roster is Nover. I'm already considering using the editor to set up some cross-division fights with GSP moving to Middleweight for some matches. --Phillipe Nover has been ready to fight for the last two shows now but I didnt feel anyone was worthy of a shot that was willing to fight also (Paul Kelly was close). However it looks like he'll be fighting Gilbert Melendez next month at GAMMA 17. --Speaking of GAMMA 17, it looks like it could have two title matches as Kazuo Misaki is going to be willing to accept his first match since winning the GAMMA Middleweight title. The Middleweight division is pretty wide open, and seeing as this is Misaki's first defense pretty much anyone with a couple wins could step up for a title show. MrCanada Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 GAMMA 17 Results Rory Singer defeated Lyman Good * --Round 3--Good throws another two punches, both to the body, then steps back to avoid an uppercut. Singer lets fly with a scorching punch though, and it catches Good by surprise, putting him down! Singer follows up and starts raining down right hands. Good covers up as best he can, but it's not enough as the referee pulls Singer off, the match is over. The official time of the TKO is 1:16 of round 3. Travis Lutter defeated Billy Miles * The three judges all give the match as 30-27 to Travis Lutter. Shane Nelson defeated Duane Ludwig * --Round 1--There's a small lull as Nelson continues to try and get the mount. There it is, Ludwig finally couldn't stop it. Nelson starts firing off punches, and Ludwig has nowhere to go. A big elbow gets through. A right hand lands on the nose of Ludwig. The referee is watching intently, I don't think he's going to let this go much longer unless Ludwig can come up with some answers. Nelson hits another big elbow. And another. The referee leaps in, it's over! Official time of the TKO is 1:41 of the first round. Kit Cope defeated Paul Taylor ** A thunderous kick connects from Cope, catching Taylor hard across the chest. He staggers back up against the ropes, looking stunned. Cope follows in and scores with several punches. Taylor tries to cover up, but falls down and becomes overwhelmed with more punches. The referee has seen enough and jumps in to stop the match. Cope wins via 2nd round TKO with the official time being 1:23. War Machine defeated Joe Scarola * War Machine hits a solid left, then a right. Scarola felt both of them, and backs off a little. War Machine charges right in to follow up though, and unleashes a powerful right hook, and Scarola took it flush on the chin! War Machine doesn't even bother following up on that, because Scarola was out cold from the instant that that hit. Incredible punch. The official time is 2:42. Ricardo Arona defeated Alessio Sakara ** Sakara misses an uppercut and is off balance, which allows Arona to get the takedown. Side mount. Arona is looking for an armbar, but Sakara is defending it well. Sakara gets a nice elbow in, that caught Arona by surprise. Arona fires off several elbows to the ribs, and Sakara is left gasping for air. Those were hard, there's a big red patch where they hit. Arona takes the left arm, Sakara couldn't defend it any longer. The armbar is applied, there's no way out. Arona wins by tap out. The official time is 0:47. Jorge Santiago defeated David Loiseau *** The official scores are: 30-27 (twice), 29-28 for Jorge Santiago. Alistair Overeem defeated Tim Sylvia *** Alistair Overeem wins the match, getting a score of 29-28 from all three judges. Din Thomas defeated Paul Kelly ** Kelly tries to pass guard, but leaves an arm in for just a fraction of a second too long, and Thomas is able to clamp his legs around it and pull. That's a tight arm bar, and Kelly is going to have really trouble getting free. He tries to pull free, but it's no use. Kelly taps out to the armlock. Thomas wins via armbar submission at 0:40 of the third round. Josh Barnett retained the GAMMA Heavyweight title defeating Brad Imes ** Barnett gets past the guard, but only just, one leg is trapped by Imes. A couple of right hands by Barnett leave ugly red marks where they hit the unprotected stomach of Imes. Barnett gets both legs free and transitions higher up the body, putting Imes in huge trouble. Barnett manages to get a forearm firmly across the throat of Imes and he pushes down. Imes, with no way of getting out, has no alternative but to tap out. The official time is 1:56. Josh Barnett retains the GAMMA Heavyweight title. --Signed-- Alvin Robinson, Dennis Silver, Ed Herman, Heath Herring, Jorge Rivera, Kurt Pellegrino, Ryan Jansen, & Thales Leites --Released--Billy Miles, Joe Scarola, Pete Spratt (set to retire) --Tito Ortiz won the 2009 fighter of the year award going 5-0 in 2009. Seems to get this award for quantity of wins not quality. Was suprised GSP or Quinton Jackson didnt get the nod. Ariel Sexton defeated Junior Assuncao DUD --ROUND 1--They clinch. Assuncao gets in a nice knee, but a second attempt sees him swept to the ground. Assuncao landed hard with Sexton right on top of him, it looks like he got winded. Sexton hits three big punches to the face, and Assuncao is rocked. Sexton gets an arm, locks in a kimura, and Assuncao has no alternative but to tap out. Sexton wins via kimura submission at 3:49 of the first round. Ed Herman defeated Jorge Rivera ** --ROUND 2--Herman steps back to avoid a straight left. Rivera comes in to try it again, and gets caught with a lovely hook. Rivera goes down hard, but isn't out, just stunned. Herman quickly mounts him before he can shake it off, and unloads with punches. The referee is very quickly in there and pulls Herman off, giving him the win. Replays show the referee was right to do so, Rivera took three nasty looking shots in a row from the mount. Official time of the TKO is 2:53 of the second. Dan Barrera defeated Johnny Rees * The official scores are in; two judges give 29-28, the other 30-27, all for Dan Barrera. Nick Klein defeated Jason Lambert ** --ROUND 2--He tries to apply a choke hold, but Lambert defends it. However, in doing so, he leaves his left arm exposed, and Klein is able to float over and trap it inbetween his legs. Klein falls forward and pulls, forcing Lambert to tap out rather than have his arm hyper-extended. The official time of the armbar submission is 1:55 of round 2. Jess Liaudin defeated Matt Brown ** The three judges all give the match as 29-28 to Jess Liaudin. Out of nowhere, it caught Thomson flush in the face, and he slumps down against the ropes. Pellegrino follows up with more punches, and the referee dives in to break it up. It's all over. Thomson wasn't knocked out, but that one punch was a beauty, and it stopped him getting any sort of defence together to stop the following punches. Official time of the TKO is 0:33 of the second. Dave Herman defeated Fabricio Werdum ** Dave Herman wins the match, getting a score of 29-28 from all three judges. Joe Doerksen won the GAMMA Middleweight title by defeating Kazuo Misaki ** --ROUND 2--Leaning down between the legs, he starts throwing vicious punches. Misaki tries to bring his legs back in to pull guard again, while simultaneously covering up, but he is having trouble; Doerksen is using his body to keep the legs from coming in. More punches rain down, and Misaki is starting to get really pounded. A big shot lands hard on the nose, then a left hand crunches into his cheek. The referee has seen enough and pulls Doerksen away, signalling the end of this match. Doerksen wins via second round TKO at 2:53. Joe Doerksen is the new GAMMA Middleweight champion. Phillipe Nover retained the GAMMA Lightweight title by defeating Gilbert Melendez **** --ROUND 5--Nover narrowly misses a right cross. Melendez tries to work an angle, then steps in...and gets creamed with a high head kick! Nover landed it right to the ear of all places, and Melendez's legs give way, sending him crashing to the floor. The referee immediately covers him up, he is clearly out cold. Nover gets the win via K.O. Nover wins via fifth round knock out at 40 seconds. Phillipe Nover is still the GAMMA Lightweight champion. --Released- Johnny Rees, Seth Petruzelli --Suprised to see Doerksen beat Misaki, bit of an upset there with Misaki the #2 middleweight (Silva is still 1). --Nover/Melendez was great. Was tied 2 round each going into the fith and having it end without a decision was nice. --With Tito winning fighter of the year I'm thinking of doing a catch-weight super fight between him and GSP. Its a big jump up for GSP for the fight so I might wait and do Nover/GSP first. --Dave Herman wont fight again until its a title shot vs. Josh Barnett. Big clubbing blow from Dewees, Sakara dealt with it well. Dewees half-stands, his right leg still trapped between Sakara's, and starts unloading with a barrage of bombing right hands. Sakara takes one right to the jaw, then another smashes hard into his nose. More devastating punches rain down, and the referee pulls Dewees off, preventing Sakara from taking any more damage. Nick Diaz defeated Paul Taylor *** The official scores are: 29-28 (twice), 30-27 for Nick Diaz. Joachim Hansen defeated Diego Sanchez ** --ROUND 2-- That's enough to put him down, although replays show that he already seemed to be stumbling when it hit, it's hard to say for sure whether he wasn't already on his way down anyway. Either way, Hansen follows up, smelling victory. Hansen presses the advantage and starts wailing away, although most of the punches aren't landing very well. A few are though, and Sanchez can't do much more than cover up. An elbow finds its way through, and looked like it landed on the bridge of the nose. Big right hand from Hansen, who is expending a lot of energy on this attack. Sanchez tries to grab a guillotine, but can't get it. Left hand, connects, from Hansen. That landed hard on the chin, and that convinces the referee to get in and stop the match. A controversial decision. Hansen wins via 2nd round TKO with the official time being 1:51. Some do cause some damage, landing as Loiseau tries unsuccessfully to throw some counters. Lambert transitions to side control without any issues and starts finding the punches down again, this time with more leverage and therefore more power.
