With Wrestlemania VII just over a week away, here is a preview of the marquee wrestling event of the year.

http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/891/891479/wmlogo-vii_1216276629.jpg

WWF World Heavyweight Championship

WWF World Heavyweight Champion, The Ultimate Warrior, will defend his title against the Royal Rumble winner, The Undertaker, in the main event of the evening. The two met in the ring for the first time in tag team action at Saturday Night Main Event with the Warrior and his partner emerging victorious over The Undertaker and his handler, Ted DiBiase. This truly is a match-up of two of the WWF's most intimidating superstars, and the crowd will be in a frenzy to see these two finally hook-up one on one for the belt.

WWF Intercontinental Championship

Mr. Perfect will defend the title against Bret Hart. Mr. Perfect is what he says he is, and that is perfect. Hart has spent his career thus far as a tag team specialist winning tag team gold on two separate occasions with Jim Neidhart. However, he ha turned his attention to Mr. Perfect and the Intercontinental Title after Mr. Perfect interfered at the request of Bobby Heenan causing the Hart Foundation to lose the titles to the Brain Trust at Saturday Night Main Event last month. The losing of those titles and Hart's focus on Perfect have led to tension between Bret and Neidhart over the past few weeks. Will Bret be able to focus on the task at hand and capture the Intercontinental Title or will the tension with his partner and the pressure of Wrestlemania be too much to overcome?

$100,000 vs. Hogan's Services - Cage Match

"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase will do battle with Hulk Hogan in a steel cage match. These two have been at each others throat's since DiBiase caused Hogan to be eliminated from the Royal Rumble giving The Undertaker the shot at the WWF Championship. DiBiase upped the ante a few weeks back when he and Virgil handcuffed Hogan to the ropes and beat him to a bloody pulp. Hogan has been training hard in order to return at Wrestlemania, and put forth the cage match stipulation to keep Virgil and potentially the Undertaker out of the match. DiBiase accepted only on the condition that Hogan would be forced to serve DiBiase if DiBiase wins. This should be war.

Randy Savage vs. Davey Boy Smith

These two will square off for the third time this year at Wrestlemania. Savage captured the initial match-up at the Royal Rumble. Davey Boy was able to even the score at Saturday Night Main Event. With a rematch likely at Wrestlemania, and tensions continuing to build between the two, Davey Boy upped the ante by introducing Savage's former manager Miss Elizabeth as his new manager.

Big Bossman vs. The Mountie

The Mountie debuted in the WWF on a winning streak with the aid of his cattle prod. Eventually Bossman took exception to The Mountie's underhanded tactics, and attacked The Mountie leading to a back and forth struggle between the two over the last few weeks. WWF President Jack Tunney has ordered these two to face off at Wrestlemania.

Road Warriors vs. Demolition

While the match is not yet officially signed, the challenge has been issued by the Road Warriors. These two have been battling for the past couple of months with attacks and an 8-man tag match at Saturday Night Man Event. Demolition's new manager Ox has seemed to get Crush and Smash focused on destroying the Road Warriors so it seems likely that Demolition will accept the challenge.

Additional matches are possible in the coming week, especially with the WWF World Tag Team Champions, Brain Trust, currently without opponents.

Word going around the WWF lockerroom is that Davey Boy Smith was injured at last night's television taping. Tests were completed after the show last night on Smith's injured pectoral muscle. The results showed no serious injuries, and Smith should be able to compete as scheduled against Randy Savage at Wrestlemania.

In additional news, Nick Bockwinkel has been signed as the newest member of the WWF backstage crew. He will likely work as a road agent, but could potential serve in a role to help develop talent at Smokey Mountain Wrestling as well.

My Thoughts: Last show before Wrestlemania, but a B-show, so I focused on some of the lower card matches for the show to get them a little additional hype. I feel like Mania should be a huge show, I'm hoping it delivers the ratings to match. Taker vs. Warrior and Hogan vs. DiBiase should deliver on name power alone. Perfect vs. Hart is likely to steal the show. Davey Boy and Savage have had 2 very good matches, hopefully Davey's injury does drag him down too much.

My Thoughts: Not a bad show. I was hoping for a little bit better overall, but looking through the segments, Piper's Pit is the only one I am truly disappointed with. I kind of expected a little better from the tag title match as well. Hogan vs. DiBiase was a suprise, I expected a good rating, but didn't expect an A. Two titles changed hands, Perfect vs. Hart was difficult on which way to go, but I decided on Bret, but I'm sure we'll see a re-match down the road. Warrior wasn't happy dropping the belt, but luckily didn't have creative control. I always liked Warrior, but I think Undertaker with the belt gives me alot more options long term.
