NickC13573 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 this is not a question of how to recruit but on who u would recruit. If you were Akron, or any othe low-tier team. Would you rather have 1 5 star recruit, but his backup be just 1 star players, or would you want 2 3 star recruits backing each other up?
Ragin Cajun Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I'd say a five star. He can make the most impact on your team and you don't pass those once in a lifetime guys up. Yes, if he gets hurt it kills you but if you go with the two three-stars will you have 2-3 great seasons of production and possibly bump your team up?

ShoelessJoe Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 With a low prestige school, you just have to go after the guys with a 10 or 9 interest in you. You should also have a definite plan in mind, that is recruit to what you need position wise, to run the offense or defense you need. For example if you want to run a spread offense, not a lot of use chasing a top FB. If you want to run a 5-2 defense, you havent the need for too many LB, you need DT and DEs. I believe, but I cant prove it, recruits are well aware of what offense and defense you ran. If for example you run a 5-2 defense, it will be harder to recruit olbs and ilbs, because you only start 2 of them. I also believe, but I cant prove it, if your Off coach for example is a vertical passing guy, he will perform better if you run a vertical passing offense. Same with Def coaches.
