Kobe1724 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 visible at the start of the game? Like if I want to be able to go back and look at the title history/champs etc. of a now bankrupt promotion is there a way to do that?
The Masked Orange Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 That would be sweet, also like, if you could buy a bankrupt promotion, to start off with extra prestige when you start a new company. Or, buy the rights to the company so you can have it's title's and DVD Footage. DAMN, thats the best ever idea I've ever had. But it'll just end up with SWF buying Dave and making it into a second brand.
Scottie Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 visible at the start of the game? Like if I want to be able to go back and look at the title history/champs etc. of a now bankrupt promotion is there a way to do that? I'm not quite sure if I understand right, but if a promotion goes bankrupt during the game you can always filter the main screen so it isn't just limited to active promotions. For ones that go bankrupt before the game starts - no idea.
Kobe1724 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 They should add that for the future then.
wilts Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 They should add that for the future then. Why? I assume you purely want it for the C-Verse? I don't know the history of that, but for a real world mod, could you imagine the potential number of dead promotions that could be included? It would be ridiculous. If a promotion was bought out, would it be listed or not? eg: WCW, was bought out, did not just close, so theoretically as WWE own the rights to the WCW, it's titles, it's footage, etc, then WCW still lives on today so it wouldn't be listed, at least not if you want accuracy. Sorry, just my opinion but I think it to be a very bad idea.
Derek B Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I don't see what it would add. If the promotion is dead already, then all you are adding is some deadweight info to the game. If they went bankrupt then their asset would already have been sold off to pay their creditors, meaning you couldn't buy their stuff. Titles, video library, name etc would all be considered assets to a degree, so none of them would (in a legal sense) be available. And since pretty much all the useful info you'd need would be their title histories and stuff... well, they are already going to be around (depending on the mod). What else could you want that wouldn't already be in the game, sold off a long time ago or not covered by your own artistic license when starting up a new promotion?
Kobe1724 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Well if I want to look at WCW's title history how can I do it? I know WWE bought it up, but I use it as an example more in the sense that being able to look at the title histories of a defunct promotion of the past would be cool. I added the title history of an old promotion in a fantasy mod of mine today only to find that while it showed up in the workers bios I couldn't look at the actual history itself. Just saying it would be cool...
Derek B Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 In the case of the WCW title, I'd have it being owned by the WWE but set to be inactive. Would mean they would own the belt and that you could one day bring it back if you really wanted to. For other dead belts, its up to you. As they have no impact on the game other than to tell you the lineage of the belt then I'd just go to the editor to look at it. Not ideal, but since it adds nothing (in terms of game mechanics) except for the statistical completionist, it's good enough. Specially since the lineage isn't getting any longer for those belts.
