Derek B Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I believe they do, but I can't confirm it due to never playing a character old or unstable enough to retire/die.
Tigerkinney Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I believe they do, but I can't confirm it due to never playing a character old or unstable enough to retire/die. I'm tempted now to create a save game, with a user character that's about 90 years old, is banged up and has drink/drug problems just to see how long he can stay alive

Tempest Kane Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Aah... ...the Ric Flair-scenario. =) lmao lollollol !!!!
Ping von Erich Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 A 90 year old drug addict that works for WEXXV! Heroin on a pole exploding wheelchair barbwire deathmatch extravaganza!
Blackman Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Rofl. Anyhow, it would be a shame to die in a random event and getting the dreaded message: game over "Game over"
supershot Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 lol. In all seriousness, is it possible to die? Realistically you would eventually.
YBDynamo Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 lol. In all seriousness, is it possible to die? Realistically you would eventually. maybe the user character is really the highlander, which brings up multiplayer games, there can be only one
Tempest Kane Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I doubt you actually die, even if your ingame char died you would still be "You" on the user screen and continue to book, this much im sure of... But since nobody has simmed what... 100 years (just to make sure) likely other than Adam himself when testing the game (who knows maybe he hasnt even done that) ... i guess nobody knows. Someone wanna be the first to do this and post a save game for the rest of us? Id love to see what Cornellverse defualt looks like after 100 years... anyone?

I agree, If anyone gets bored on a rainy day, don't hold back.
Vladamire Dracos Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I had a 100 year old user character who retired from active competing due to his physical being too low due to injuries piling up (and still had him wrestle a Japanese Barbwire Deathmatch the next show after he announced his retirement), but never had an avatar die from anything. As far as I know, avatars can't die. In fact, I've considered using older guys who are still heard from in wrestling circles (but who might not be interested in actually getting into the ring again or are unable to) and are older than the game likes for normal workers (people like Bruno Sammartino, Abdullah The Butcher, May Young, Lou Albino, The Iron Sheik, Gypsy Joe, etc.) as user characters (assuming their is no conflicts with them being such with the data) in the MNS data if there are players interested in using them.
Kehi7 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I tested this, I created a 99yr old avatar for one of my 2008 games, with drug problems, law problems, everything...he retired a month into my game, and simmed for 20 yrs...with him not dying yet, he's unemployed....but still alive!
That 1 Dude Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I believe Adam has said the user can't die. It would piss you off if you were playing a game and randomly you died a month into the game.
WeeMan Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I don't know for sure if an user character can die, but I think it can't. I think it should be possible though - they are not highlanders [or maybe they are? ] and there are couple of ways how the problem could be solved... One being that when your user character dies, you get to create another character which is for example related to the deceased avatar... Imagine those long dynasties with 3 avatars deaths and their sons/brothers/uncles taking their jobs :]
