infinitywpi Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I've been really enjoying Enya's new 'winter season' album. There's a few nice Christmas-y tunes on there.

The other great ones are Happy Christmas, War is Over by John Lennon and the Plastic Yoko Ono Band and... http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=8jEnTSQStGE Do they know it's Christmas by Band Aid
Thomnipotent Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Do the Beastie Boys have a Christmas song? 'So Whatcha Want' could easily be turned into a Christmas song...
cappyboy Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lPw7CpIGQaQ Snoopys Christmas by the Royal Guardsmen. The other great ones are Happy Christmas, War is Over by John Lennon and the Plastic Yoko Ono Band and... http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=8jEnTSQStGE Do they know it's Christmas by Band Aid Good choices. I know a lot of folks don't like Happy Christmas (War Is Over) and Do They Know It's Christmas because they find the songs preachy. And I can't say that doesn't hurt those songs in the back in my mind at times. But what I like about them is the different mental imagery they put in my mind. I especially love the line about "there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime. The greatest gift they'll get this year is life." The notion of some of the African deserts and savannas covered in snow is just so bizarre I can't help but smile whenever Band Aid evokes it.
GardnerFTW Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 "Last Christmas" - Wham You have to be a fan of anything by Wham! Plus the girl, I used to share an office with with get up and sing and dance any time it would come on the radio. So I get a chuckle anytime I hear it.
