UFC-KING Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 What you guys think, my predictions are in the prediction thread quick thoughts : Rashad will beat forrest Silva will maul Jackson Hoping for Kongo and Dollaway Victories
ACCBiggz Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008
Be the last time I'm in here unless I get the PPV here at my house instead of going out... so here are my thoughts before prelim results and such:

UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship: Nog has the clear advantage on both ground and boxing. I give Mir a better shot than most, but I've read things by Mir this week like "Why is this a five round fight" and other things like that... so I'm wondering if cardio will be a factor. I think Nog will submit Mir in the second or third... but also look out for some ground and pound.

UFC Light Heavyweight Championship: Why am I picking against Forrest? Something tells me he wins tonight, but I'm picking Rashad by TKO in the third. Quicker, more powerful, good wrestling, and underrated jiu-jitsu. I think Forrest can get a decision or a submission on a tired Rashad, but not a fresh Evans. Forrest will have to pressure him and wear him down with his big body... and if Evans gets a shot off it could be lights out.

Jackson/Silva III: This is almost my lock of the night... Rampage by TKO. I don't see Wanderlei KO'ing him this time, I think Rampage will ground and pound him out before the end of the fight. I think Jackson has improved a lot while Silva has regressed a bit in my opinion just by the toll the wars have taken on him. I actually like the move to the Wolfslair... but we'll see how it goes later tonight.

Other fights: Kongo fairly easily, Okami in a boring fight, and I have Massenzio by submission. I probably should pick CB, but if he gets sub'd by Amir twice... I'm taking Mike by sub as well until CB proves he can defend one adequetly.

Self Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008
OMG Setanta stops Broadcasting at 5am!!! Forest was about to get in the ring and BOOM! Feed cut. No more UFC92 for me.

It's replayed tomorrow, but.... gutting.

CapCee Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008
HHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Somebody pinch me with a pair of scissors or pliers! I really like Forrest but Rashad is hands down my favorite MMA fighter. I wasn't sure he had a chance to win. I didn't even think he would beat Chuck. I was born at the hospital he worked in as security here in Lansing. I'm a diehard Michigan State fan (college he wrestled for). I started watching The Ultimate Fighter season 3 because I read that a guy fighting out of Lansing won season 2. I'm so happy to see him on top of the world. I hope when I wake up this won't be a dream. Forrest fought his tail off as usual but Rashad is a very special competitor. WOW this is surreal!

UFC-KING Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Mir Really just killed Nogueira, I don't think I've ever seen somebody do that before.
Tyler Gadzinski Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008
I liked the Rampage match the best.. after the knockout and the ref was trying to stop it Jackson hit him 2 or 3 more times after.

The first fight was ridiculus there were 2 nut shots.. it's a disappointment.

Griffen is a great fighter showing sportsmanship like no other. He seemed like he was gonna win but ended up getting his **** rocked. Great fight, great comments afterward.

I was hoping Mir would win his matchup so Lesnar can get another shot at him. I plan on ordering the Mir/Lesnar 2 show.

darthsiddus2 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 it'd be Lesnar vs Lashley before Lesnar vs Mir 2 <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

He has faced some of the best heavyweight strikers and he's never been KO'd.

I figured Mir might manage a decision win, but I honestly cannot say I expected a KO. Nogueira, who has never been KO'd. Mir, who came in with one KO win in his career. Anyone predicted that seriously had to have done so without looking at the history of the two fighters.

ACCBiggz Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008
Rashad is my boy. Picked him on TUF2 to win Heavyweights... dunno why, but I did. Picked him to win all his fights afterwards, including calling a 2nd round TKO over Chuck (was surprised by one punch KO no doubt), and tonight a 3rd Round TKO prediction.... love it.

Mir looked good, I saw the fight ending how it did after the first. Nog threw one good combo, but never again... dunno if the fight would be different if he threw more or not.

Overall a good night, can't wait for potential match-ups with Rashad vs. Rampage and possibly winner of Silva/Machida.

UFC-KING Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 It was probably the best PPV i've seen
chris caulfield Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Great PPV. Never expected Nog to get dropped by Mir nevermind being KO'ed. I think Lesnar wins the rematch though. Rashad was great and showed great speed against Forrest and can't wait to see his first defence. Hope Forrest rematches Rampage next. Talking about Rampage talk about revenge. Kongo really impressed me with his wrestling skills and he might be ready to step up now. Dolloway showed abit more promise aswell in the way he finifhed his fight
