Small Promotion Big Talent

Okay, this is a little weird. Having learned certain lessons (and restarting my AAA campaign), I'm just a little over a year into my second kick at the can. The CWWF has just started (a Small company with E+ Prestige) and they've been signing a lot of big name talent that, in my wildest dreams, I could never get to sign with me (I'm currently listed as a Regional company with E- Prestige). Anyhow, the roster for them now includes: Craig Prince, Farrah Hesketh (whom I fired so that one is at least semi-understandable), Nemesis, and now Wanda Fish who, just this second, refused a contract extension with me to go work for a smaller company. There's no conflict between my character and Fish and she was the most heavily pushed person on my roster and on quite a winning streak (and apparently as happy as can be when the Talk To Worker option was consulted). Anybody have any idea what's going on here?

Thanks in advance.

P. S. Nemesis has just returned from hiatus so it's not like he was sitting on the shelf for months and months waiting for employment, either.

I see that happen a lot with them. Nemesis is probably the booker and bookers will accept jobs for anyone almost... but when their contract comes up, they tend to not renegotiate a deal with them. Wanda signs with them based on her Canadian overness, which is lower than her American overness. Seems she's willing to take a pay cut to break into a new market. Ditto for Farrah. Ditto Craig Prince probably, though he may be owner of the company.

Yeah, a worker will sign for a smaller company outside their home country because they're less popular there - they'll even take a lower wage to do it (which can make talent trades beneficial, so consider getting a working agreement :p)

I feel your pain. Christian Faith just retired in my game to resurface as CWWF's color commentator. I'm willing to pay him a lot more than he's getting there, but he won't take it, because his overness is so much higher in the US than in Canada.
