DeadCeleb Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I should be out of a job within a month, lol. So, I started as ECW in Carlito`s mod, and started with $500k, a month later and I only have $290k. Anyone else have something similar to this happen, and any idea what I can do to help cut costs down to save my job? I don't want to go in the editor, I want to try to save them naturally. Thanks in advance.
Hyde Hill Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 1. Raise ticket prices +4, fire guys with high downsides. Guys on written send to dev if possible and fire from there(its free then). Fire non competitors with high ppa if ya can get same quality skill wise from somewhere else. Set merchandising to just in time. Set production costs to lowest. Theres prolly more but these are good starting points.
pepper2008 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Use only one referee. Dont use a roadagent, but rather use an active wrestler with high Respect and Psychology. Use Wrestlers your using for an event instead of Non-Wrestlers as Commentators. Drop PPV contract deal. Dont renew TV Contract deal or just cancel it.
DeadCeleb Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Ouch, bye bye Hardcore TV, lol. And no PPVs? Damn, but, oh well. 2 hours is hard enough to run with the guys I have. Thanks for the tips, they're definitely going to be useful to me right about now.
Hyde Hill Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 ppv deals arent bad as long as its a good deal e.g give profit and yes can use wrestlers for all non wrestler posts except ref.
Blackman Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Yes don't drop the PPV deal. Sponsors'll give you more money and basically pay the cost of the deal.
pepper2008 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 The only reason you cancel your PPV contract is if does not give you any money from the profit sharing. Even .03 ppv at 90% sharing buys will gain you enough money to repay the production cost He is asking what are the possible ways to minimize costs, losing your PPV is one of the ways. As it increases your Production cost for tens of thousands of dollars.
DeadCeleb Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 So, keep my PPV, or not? I'm confused, lol Edit: How do I find out what my contract with my PPV Carriers is?
Hyde Hill Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Edit: How do I find out what my contract with my PPV Carriers is? As far as I know cant (maybe in the in game or main editor but you can always renegotiate at any time just run 1 ppv and see if you get income of it. Keep the ppv if it runs at a profit of course. One who said ditch it read cotting costs as minimising all costs even at the expensive of profit. So ppv profitable = keep ppv =not profitable ditch.
DeadCeleb Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Fair enough. I wish I had seen what my profits were like a few weeks ago with my last PPV. oh well, I'll wait and see. And I'm going to have to cancel my TV show tomorrow. Now, do I just run weekly events instead?
pepper2008 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 You should run monthly. unless you can get enough profit in your weekly events (which will have shrinking attendance if on the same region ). Based on your limited facts run monthly
DeadCeleb Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Ran four weekly shows I believe, plus the one monthly PPV. My performance cost me $210k that month, leaving me with $290k of my original starting fun.
Genadi Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Let me know how you go DeadCeleb, we wanted to replicate ECW's financial woes at the time but don't want them to be unplayable. We may have to give them a little more $ so they don't bleed so quick.
DeadCeleb Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Well, it was kind of my fault as well. I went and hired some talent I knew could be useful. And with all the promotions trying to sign my talent away I had to keep renogiating with a few of my bigger stars so they wouldn't cause me to lose all my talent, that, and had to create non agression pacts with about half of the world, lol. If I'm out of a job next month, I'll laugh so hard. Mostly because with the Avatar's booking respect so low, I won't be able to get a job anywheres, meaning, it'll be a new game for me possibly. Or a watcher's story for a bit.
Hive Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 When I play a cult promotion, PPVs are pretty much the only thing that earns me money. For the love of God, don't cancel your PPV deal.
Blackman Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I agree. Try and save the best matches for the PPV (logic'll get you there too ), since it's your only connection to the outside world given the fact you don't have a TV deal. TV deals are a definite nono. Sure, more people come at your events BUT they pay less for tickets and the deal itself costs a lot of money too. You can always use the tactics I used to regain a lot of money: WEEKLY PPV's. You play as ECW so I definately see this working out for you.
