Guest Ransik Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I was wondering what kind of penalties you get when you change someone's stats in game? Say I want to up someone's superstar stat up about 10%. Is that going to cut off any kind of improvement they get on ring skills? I remember doing this once in 07 and the stats would stop going up.
wilts Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In all seriousness, I never realised that was the case in 07, and have heard nothing about it in 08. but will be interested to here the answer.
benjacko Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 That's more likely to be because of someone hitting their cap in a certain skill, pretty sure that editing doesn't make a difference but could be wrong.
Derek B Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Editing the stats in the editor won't do anything to alter stat caps.

I know it won't change the caps, but it will it alter anything... just any kind of penalty for going in and doing it? My whole thing is the Superstar stat never goes up or down, and it's just a huge flaw with the game. Someone like Edge and Christian would've been labeled as Es or Ds when they first started their careers but would be Bs or As today.

Someone like Edge and Christian would've been labeled as Es or Ds when they first started their careers but would be Bs or As today. It does go up and down, but not by huge amounts. I don't know about you, but when I first saw Edge I said he was world champ material, same with Orton and same with Kozlov. Some people equate star quality too closely to overness (or at least knowledge of a wrestler), which almost sounds like what you are doing. Edge and Christian have always had tons of star quality in my eyes but you don't need to already be a star to have it... Secondly, there isn't any penalty for using the editor, why should there be? It's a cheat, plain and simple. If people want to use it they can, but why would there be a penalty? I just can't see why you would be penalised for it in any logical way, but also can't explain why it sounds so ridiculously illogical either.
pepper2008 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 The only real penalty you will see is when one of your workers stat fluctuates from going over their peak and going back to their peak every month. Or if you increase his skill too high over his cap you could see his skill levels slowly crash down to peak levels.
