I'm doing my round of good-byes for the ETWA due to several reasons... I have to write some of the guys who don't live around here. I made this draft... wanted to see what everyone thinks;

Since I have no intentions at being at the next show, I'm going to be getting in touch with as many of the boys as I can, when I can. I have decided that for now and possibly for good, I will be getting done with wrestling. I could go into long and boring details as to why... pointing blame and fault for both myself and others, but if you don't know those reasons you either weren't paying attention... weren't around to hear it... or you'll be told 4 different versions of the story soon enough. I could tell you my version, but would rather do that in person so I know I'm getting it out the right way and also because I haven't given my last pieces to Donny or DJ yet.

I've finally recuperated enough with my knee so that I could get back into the swing of things and after an idea was tossed around to get me back into it by BJ... we were both told flat out that I was to be nothing more than a mouth piece for a match that had no logical angle to it... zero build and no story... where as the idea BJ threw off built a complete round story from A-Z to backlog a 5 year past history with myself, Spud and BJ, bring heel turns for us and build Spud up as a World Title contender. It made me reflect my entire time in the ETWA and regardless of what anyone thinks of me personally or my ability in the ring...

I realized that no matter what effort I was ever going to put forth, that there were no plans to ever use me effectively. The belts mean nothing to me (I tried dumping my Canadian Title on 5 different people and no one would take it) and even though the ETWA Title itself is just a physical representation of the top spot in the company, it does hurt when after 7 years, a dozen injuries, half a dozen ER visit... certain bookings would take place that would make me personally feel like an outcast to the company and like I didn't belong there when I knew I was busting my ass as much as everyone else. While I know some of my ideas were as bad as some were good... it also hurts when people tear me down all the time (you know who they are as much as I do) when I try to help and people think I'm being selfish for doing it.

So I dunno how well I explained everything to you because I don't feel like playing a blame game, but when I'm good to go... and instead of using a great angle to further Spud's rise to the top which should've happened 3 years ago to just do a plain old match with nothing behind it... to start a tag team with me and BJ to get a team to feud with the Champs over... and to keep me from doing anything than announcing matches... it's just a clear sign that intentional or not... I was being outcast from the company. I've been explained to several times this wasn't the case, but I've had enough conversations with others in the company over the last couple weeks to know otherwise.

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to wrestle ya Brett... hopefully we can do it sometime down the road.

For the most part... my main reasons for leaving are several... both selfish and not.

1.) Our World Champion is "Warrior" like in ability and attitude. Can't wrestle... can't talk... and thinks his crap doesn't stink. The crowds give him nothing but X-Pac heat and the informed marks in the crowd will always literally tell him they boo him because they think he's the worst wrestler they've ever seen... not because he's a good heel. The guy kissed butt into being the top guy... several of us gave our notices this week after spending a couple months thinking it over.

2.) Right before my knee gave out on me, I was being told flat out I would be given the top spot in the company and the Heavyweight Title. Only reason I went along with that idea was because I wanted to drop the Title at the following show to Spud McKenzie, who is by far our hardest worker and deserves it more than anyone... and since the Champ at the time was face and so is Spud... I wanted to be the heel to do it. When I got injured several weeks later... that's when the but-kisser talked his way into the Title and now Spud gets nothing. I found out last night the butt-kisser had his way all along and I was only being told I would become the Champ in order to keep me from walking out on the show. They were only going to inform me 10 minutes before the match I would not be winning.

3.) I told them I was good to return to the ring and they told me they wanted me in a Commissioner role. PERFECT! was my first reaction. I'd wanted to be full-blown heel for 2 years... what better way than this? So we were given the booking sheet for the next show; Victor Adams vs. Spud McKenzie. No build.... no story... no angle... just a throw-away match with the two greatest workers in the company while the main attractions are a tag match that's been done the last 3 shows in that building and a gimmick match involving the same two wrestlers that has been done 4 times in that building the last 2 years. Victor pitched the idea to have me be the evil Commish and have me put myself into that match so it would look like us vs. Spud in a Handicap Match.... Spud would get the win and look even stronger while we could reform our tag team, so there would BE a tag division because only the Tag Champs... are a tag team, we have no one else. We were told; No.... there is to be no angle because apparently even though the booker hasn't seen me in 3 months I'm apparently crippled and can't wrestle, and he wants the over-used matches to be the only ones on the card to get any attention.

So yeah... aside from the promise of getting us more bookings which hasn't happened... that's the gist of it. I know a lot of you will probably think it's childish, but considering we work for free... to be treated like contracted wrestlers who receive 6 figure paychecks is ridiculous and we'd rather not wrestle than be treated like garbage. 3 have already walked... 3 more of us will be gone by next week... leaving them basically with 7 guys.

I REALLY want this to just be an open-ended discussion because I'm at a very tough road here... and I've been falling apart about it for days. Victor is the only one I can speak to about this from the company aside from Spud... but Spud is impossible to get ahold of... and we're both 100% of on what we believe in at this point... I would just like some feedback and talk this whole thing out with the bunch of you guys and see how you perceive all this, although I'm inclined to believe this thread will be closed by morning by that certain someone who can't stand me.

Good luck...

As a matter of pride and principle you did the right thing.

Life and Art is all about Politics, and when you have no clout it sucks to be at the bottom looking at the top.

Your fed is kinda like TNA at the start, lol

Well what sucks is, if you put me in there with someone who can work... I can work a very good match. If you put me in there with trash, the match will be trash because I have to force the other guy to go with basic moves. Our World Champ is a prime example... I won my first singles title off him... and had to basically hurt him for real to make him take bumps in that match. He wouldn't go up for a body slam... I had to actually give him a Diamond Cutter because he refused to take it and it was the finish... I had to lock my hands and throw my weight out because I wasn't letting the guy make me look bad because he's a pansy.

The whole thing with me being involved in a triple threat was so I could slowly work my way into the match and test my knees out and then when Vic and I would fight over who would get the pinfall... we'd do some high spots to really test out my knee before Spud took over to win the match. The whole idea was Vic's... and what pissed him off the most was that Spud and I came out looking like gold while he got dumped on the whole match and came out looking the worst... and they ran me down because they thought it was my idea to get myself over and was only saying Vic came up with it to take any blame off myself.

When I told him that... he said he was done with the company if they were gonna act like immature a-holes. I told him to nevermind it and stay, but he said he was tired of busting his butt to fill time. Last match he was in, he took 3 bumps in tacks in a bloody Main Event where he has a 2 inch scar on his forehead from an accident... and instead of GOING somewhere with it, he's tossed into an opening match with Spud with no story... while both should be groomed for top spots.

The two guys who do the least amount of work... get the Main Event and the Title Match. One gets it because he booked the venues and needlessly bought a screen projector for "entrance videos" and the other for being a political butt-kisser.

Apparently tonight Vic sent out word to an old friend of ours who works for SAW in southern Vermont to put in a word for us about a try-out... hopefully something turns up out of it. Driving 3 hours instead of 20 minutes isn't the greatest, but I'd rather work for gas money and be around guys who don't fight all the time. Our friend Gary left for SAW for the reasons we are, and he couldn't be happier there.

Actually... I find it pretty funny because that's exactly what's happening just by word of mouth. The usual family members of all the guys who go to every show have all voiced GREAT disapproval over the same, tired matches that shouldn't be happening yet again. We all know they work well together... doesn't mean they should ALWAYS work together.

Kind of makes me laugh because one of the "points" brought up to me last night was that "you and Vic have worked against each other way too much and we wanted you to team up again" which obviously meant he didn't even bother listening to the idea, cause he couldn't grasp that Vic is the only guy where the trust between us is 100% both ways and I'd rather test my knee out with him for a couple spots and know I won't hurt him rather than end up hurting someone who isn't prepared for me.

He also didn't seem to get the idea WAS to get us back into a tag team.

go where the money is man. you gotta take care of yourself. if you feel your being disrespected and the said company doesn't see it then its time to find another job.

Nah, money isn't my objective. I just want an atmosphere where I can be myself and where we all can actually work together instead of playing political games where none of it means anything because we don't get paid where we are.

Try to check the environment of SAW...

But dont burn your bridges with your old fed, remember reputation travels fast in the small world of wrestling. One wrong move and you could be buried ,while a good move could bring you bigger opportunities like what happend to Terry Bolea as Thunderlips.

Remember, a worker who can make anybody look good has more opportunities in the long run than one who cant. Of course, being the owner , relative of owner, booker or financier also helps in wrestling even though they are crap or just barely decent.

If you're not being paid, does it really matter whose wrestling in the Main Event? I guess there's an issue of respect, but if the Warrior-esque dude isn't getting a bigger payday because of his push, couldn't you be satisfied by just making what you're given to do as good as you possibly can? If the audience enjoy it, who cares what the booker thinks?

I think you may be taking things a little too seriously, but I'll be honest, if I was in your situation, I'd likely be doing the exact same thing.

My advice. Check out SAW, but don't burn any bridges. Give the ETWA booker another chance. Try to get a nice sit-down with him and talk about where the stories are going. Don't threaten walking. That would likely make him throw out another empty promise. Hear him out. Be flexible, but if you really don't like what he plans, call him the next day and quit.

I'm surprised there are still small promotions that do the ongoing storyline thing. That's pretty cool.

Hell if SAW doesnt work out and you and the other 6 who are leaving why not setup a rival fed? Keep the politicians/crappy workers out and you can prolly kill em. (The Vince side talking here).

Nice version read Self. Give em time rely your side and other people´s side of things in an as nice as possible way etc.
