RAW, Week 4, October 2005 We’re live from the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY. Eric Bischoff is already in the ring, and starts talking about recent criticism that he’s holding Cena back from his rematch despite contractual obligation. “My real employer isn’t Vince McMahon; it’s you, the fans. I just don’t think Cena is popular enough to warrant a title shot. Maybe in a few years…” Cue a massive “We want Cena!” chant. Bischoff rolls his eyes, but the former champ does indeed make an appearance. “Don’t think I’m popular enough? What do you guys think?” Big pop. “Want to put your money where your mouth is, Bischoff? Taboo Tuesday is supposed to be the fan’s choice, right? How about we let them decide. I’ll show all you what I go later on tonight.” Bischoff: “What a great idea. Tonight, in a triple threat, you’ll face Triple H and Ric Flair. All three of you will be on the ballot to face Edge at Taboo Tuesday!” JR: “What a choice the fans have to make!” ----- Cut to the parking lot, and we see Flair getting out of a limo holding a wine glass. He grins and gives an "escort" big kiss. Nearby, CM Punk shakes his head. “Ric… Come on. You’re a legend. You’ve got it all. This [pointing to wine glass] isn’t going to help any.” Flair looks CM Punk over. “If I didn’t have my girls, or my champagne, or my $500 suits, do you know what I wouldn’t be able to do?” “WOOOOOO!” Commercial. ----- Tajiri vs. Chavo Jr. Good action, with Tajiri really showcasing his hard hitting style. It looks like he has a newfound intensity, and lays Chavo flat with a stiff kick to the head. Winner: Tajiri. ----- Backstage, and we get a closeup of RVD’s head. He’s leaning against a wall and is wearing a thick crimson mask. The attacker is nowhere in sight. JR: “He’s got a match later tonight, King.” ----- Triple H walks to the ring and starts taunting Flair and Cena. “So I’ve got to beat either a 56 year old man or a wigger? Choices, choices.” Commercial. ----- Carlito and RVD vs ??? The odd couple make their way to the ring, and Carlito does NOT look happy that his partner is a potential liability. There’s a dramatic pause before their mystery opponents hit the ring. Then some familiar music hits, and we see it’s none other than Shelton Benjamin and a returning Charlie Haas! Exciting, solid action. But RVD’s injuries prove too much, and The World’s Greatest Tag Team pick up the win. Winners: WGTT Lawler: “Do you think they had anything to do RVD’s injuries?” JR: “I don’t know. It is a big coincidence.” For what it’s worth, Benjamin and Haas help RVD back to the locker room. Carlito shakes his head and spits an apple on an audience plant. Commercial. ----- CM Punk stands in the ring. The audience has obviously been hyped, as their laying on some thick “*******” chants. “Look, I may be straight edge, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun. If people want to drink beer, do drugs, that’s fine… More power to them. But I’m not interested in fame or fortune; I’m interested in wrestling as a sport. “I can’t help but look at people like Ric Flair or Steve Austin as… well, as disgraces. This is about competition. This is about athleticism. And Austin? I can’t help but think he COULD have been one of the best, but he let his cheap beer get in the way. “Not like me. I train all day. I’m in prime condition. And I am going to prove it. I’m issuing an open challenge for Taboo Tuesday…” He’s interrupted by a familiar KLANG. The Texas Rattlesnake himself struts to the ring and grabs a mic. “Son, I think you need to know your place.” What? “You think beer hurt me?” What? “Are you even old enough to drink beer?” What? “You want to find out just how good I still I am?" What? And a big pop from the crowd. “You and me, Taboo Tuesday. If you win, I’ll stop drinking beer. If you win, you gotta crack one open with me.” Punk smirks a little. He doesn’t look the least bit intimidated. “Fine. I’ll take on a drunk like you.” Austin looks around, and then WHAM BAM STUNNER. Foley: “It looks like we have our first official Taboo Tuesday match!” Commercial. ----- Kane vs. Shawn Michaels Shawn is going to win. He’s on the top rope. He delivers the elbow. He tunes up the band, and… Kane sits up! He catches HBK’s foot and pushes it away, then delivers a choke slam. 1…2…NO! Shawn Michaels kicks out. Kane sneers and grabs a chair from ringside. The announcer tries to take it away, and that leaves enough time for Eugene to crawl from under the ring and smack HBK with another chair. That, combined another chokeslam, is enough for Kane to get the cheap pin. Winner: Kane Commercial. ----- Big Show vs. Rob Conway The Big Show looks mighty perturbed after what just happened, so he finishes Conway in short order. Winner: Big Show ----- Bischoff then comes to the ring and talks about the Taboo Tuesday card. He announces the matches and the options that the audience has to vote on. WWE Heavyweight Championship Edge © vs. Ric Flair OR John Cena OR Triple H The two losers will square off in a #1 Contenders match. WWE World Tag Team Championship Cade and Murdoch © vs. The Showstoppers OR Kane and Eugene OR World’s Greatest Tag Team The losers will, again, face off in a #1 Contenders match. CM Punk vs. Steve Austin in a Streetfight OR Last Man Standing Intercontinental Championship Carlito © vs. Kurt Angle OR Tajiri OR Rob Van Dam Commercial ----- Cade and Murdoch vs. Hurricane and Venis A standard match, which the crowd is NOT into. But the tag champs pull out a win. Winner: Cade and Murdoch ---- After the match, Hurricane kicks the steps and gets into an argument with Venis. He ignores the fans and looks miserable. Commercial ----- Flair vs. Cena vs. Triple H Edge joins us on commentary, which is somewhat distracting, but he does say some funny things about his potential competition. Triple H is down outside the ring, so Cena and Flair are going at it. The crowd seems to be more behind Cena than Flair, and he eventually gains the advantage and is about hit the FU when Edge interferes with a chopblock. The ref is knocked out so he doesn’t see it, but gets up as Flair locks in the figure four. Winner: Ric Flair

Tuesday, Week 4, October 2005 Notes from the booker: A solid outing for RAW, but overall not as good as past shows. I'm trying to throw some focus to some lower card workers, like Tajiri and The Hurricane, and obviously the crowd isn't as into it. And Triple H? Well, I've heard rumors that he's a politician, but over the past few weeks I've seen definitive proof. He won't agree to lose to workers he doesn't like, so that ruined my original booking of last night's triple threat (with Cena coming out on top). I may have to reconsider my future plans for him, then... ----- From Onlineonslaught.com RAW Ratings: 2,074,631 [Excerpt] "Lots of viewers tuned in, and most stayed glued to their TVs. Some were lost during the last half hour, so hopefully the sacrifice is worth it (it's about time the Hurricane got to do something interesting, isn't it?). "There's at least one more worker who WWE is keeping in the back. Word has it that they aren't sure what their exact plans are yet, and they want to make sure his debut is as good as it can be. But don't get your hopes up; he's not very over, and will probably start in a lower card position. But a feud with Tajiri might be interesting..." ----- Smackdown preview: Who is Brock's mystery partner? Can Batista and the Deadman put their past rivalry behind them? The Foundation has made quite the impact. Are they are good as they claim? Christian won the United States title at No Mercy by "playing possum." Will someone force him to answer for it? Announced matches: Matt Hardy vs. Ken Kennedy AJ Styles and Chris Sabin vs. Paul London and Rey Mysterio The Foundation vs. The Mexicools Undertaker and Batista vs. Brock Lesnar and a mystery partner

Smackdown, Week 4, October 2005 Welcome to Smackdown! We’re at the Glendale Arena in Glendale, AZ. Michael Cole and Tazz hype the main event wonder who Brock Lesnar’s mystery partner is. Then we go right to our first match. ----- AJ Styles and Chris Sabin vs. Paul London and Rey Mysterio Very exciting action. Mysterio and Styles showed some really good chemistry and got the crowd into the match with exciting action and loads of new moves. In the end, Mysterio was knocked out with a nice double missile-dropkick, and then London was pinned with a handful of tights. Winners: Styles and Sabin ----- We go backstage where Kennedy taunts tonight's opponent, Matt Hardy. He claims that his loss at No Mercy was just a fluke, and that tonight he’ll prove he’s the future of the WWE. Commercial. ----- Christian is in the ring hosting his Peep Show. He flaunts his newly won United States title and says he’ll defend it against all challengers. Then he introduces his guests, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe. “The Foundation” grab some mics and start putting themselves over, claiming they are the most talented and athletic tag team in the WWE. The Radicalz have something to say about that, however, and remind the newcomers that they aren’t holding the tag titles. Commercial. ----- Matt Hardy vs. Ken Kennedy Good back-and-forth, with Hardy carrying most of the match. Winner: Matt Hardy Cole: “You know, Tazz, Hardy hasn’t been defeated in a singles match on Smackdown yet.” Tazz: “He’s on quite the streak.” ----- Teddy Long’s office, and him and Vince are having an argument. McMahon says the hopes Teddy can control his roster; he doesn’t want Survivor Series ruined by run-ins and chaos. Long promises that everything should go as planned. ----- Batista cuts a promo about Brock. He says he was ungrateful for the opportunities WWE gave him before, and that the Champ would never betray the company or the fans. “And you want to just waltz in here and get a title shot? Well guess what? I welcome the challenge. I want to prove who the bigger monster is.” Commercial. ----- The Radicalz and Booker T vs. Orton, JBL, and Orlando Jordan The crowd is really into this one. Jordan is obviously the weak link for the heels, and Booker gets a pinfall after about 12 minutes. Winner: The Radicalz and Booker T ----- After the match, the winning team challenges the Foundation, and a third member of their choice, to a match on next week’s Smackdown. ----- We go backstage and see Christian, with the title securely over his shoulder, running down the hall. Matt Hardy is close behind. Cole: “So much for taking on any challenger.” Commercial ----- The Foundation vs. Juventud and Super Crazy An even match. Once again, the match gets over on the in-ring competition instead of the popularity of the competitors. Juventud takes one of Joe’s stiff kicks after flying off the top turnbuckle. This is enough for the win. Winners: The Foundation ----- Batista and The Undertaker are backstage, psyching each other up for their upcoming tag match. Tazz: “The revealing of Brock’s mystery partner, and a thrilling main event, coming up next!” ----- Batista and Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar and… The faces come to the ring first. Brock is third, and then there’s a dramatic pause before some very unfamiliar music starts playing. Then we see Lesnar’s mystery partner is… Japense legend, Jushin Thunder Lyger! The pop he gets indicates that a lot of the crowd remember him from his days in WCW. Batista and Taker, however, don’t look the least bit intimidated. This is a solid 15 minute match. Lyger really showed his stuff, and was a compliment to Lesnar’s hard-hitting style. While the ref is down, Batista tries for a powerbomb on Lyger, but Brock tosses a chair in the ring and Lyger smacks Batista with it while in mid-air. Lyger is too hurt to make the cover, so Lesnar comes in and gets a 3 count just as Taker gets back in the ring to make the save. Winners: Lesnar and Lyger

Saturday, Week 4, October 2005 Notes from the booker: Overall, this was the best Smackdown yet. I'm trying to get the Cruiserweight division back to being a respected part of the roster, and I think the developing feud between Styles and Mysterio could definitely high point. Lyger's debut went over surprisingly well. I think the fans will buy him as a Upper Midcarder because of his unique costume and undeniable ability. He will make a good foil for Batista on his way to Lesnar. From Onlineonslaught.com Smackdown ratings: 2,598,752 "The highest rating yet for Smackdown. Looking at the quarter hours, it looks like segments with The Foundation went over surprisingly well. I wonder if the bookers feel comfortable pulling the trigger on their push so soon to capitalize on this?" ----- RAW Preview The Hurricane looked miserable last week. Is there more to this story? Will the four championship contenders butt heads the night before Taboo Tuesday? What will happen when Michaels and Triple H meet in the ring again? Plus! A former RAW superstar makes a special announcement! Announced matches: Shelton Benjamin vs. Tyson Tomko Tajiri and RVD vs. Carlito and Kurt Angle Ric Flair vs. Eugene Triple H and Edge vs. Shawn Michaels and The Big Show

RAW, Week 1, November 2005 We’re live at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, CN. The announcers hype the main event and if Triple H and Edge can work together as a team. ----- Shelton Benjamin vs. Tyson Tomko Nothing special. Benjamin was definitely the star of this one. Winner: Shelton Benjamin ----- The Hurricane, out of costume, bursts into Bischoff’s office and demands that he be traded to Smackdown. Bischoff looks like he’s considering it. ----- Elsewhere backstage, Kane is cutting Eugene to get him “prepared” for his match tonight. Commercial. ----- Chavo vs. Val Venis The crowd really responded to both competitors. A solid match, but like the opening bout, it was nothing special. Winner: Chavo Jr. ----- Triple H cuts a promo taunting one half of the Showstoppers, Shawn Michaels. Commercial. ----- A dramatic pause, and then… the Y2J countdown! Jericho comes out to a major pop. “Bischoff may have fired me, but Vince McMahon knows that the Highlight of the Night is too big a star to keep off Monday Night RAW.” He goes on to explain the he’s not making his return just yet; he’s still on the road with his band, “spreading the music of the Ayatolla of Rock’n’Rolla.” But he’ll back soon, and he guarantees the fans the he’s never been better. Commercial. ----- RVD and Tajiri vs. Carlito and Kurt Angle Lots of ECW chants during this one. Kurt Angle is practically refusing to work with Carlito and tries to do everything himself. This costs his team the match. Winners: RVD and Tajiri ----- After the match, Angle can be heard yelling at Carlito. “You’re not a wrestler! You’re an entertainer! You don’t deserve to be on this show!” Commercial ----- Ric Flair vs. Eugene A good 12 minute match. Easily the best one so far. The Big Show stops Kane from interfering, allowing Flair to lock in the figure four. Winner: Ric Flair ----- Edge and Triple H are shown backstage arguing about tonight’s gameplan. Trips wants to to be the leader, but Edge reminds him that HE is the WWE Champion and so HE is in charge. There’s some obvious tension. Commercial ----- CM Punk and Ric Flair are in a movie parody of SAW II. It goes over very well, and Punk shows that he can hold his own performance wise. ----- Edge and Triple H vs. The Showstoppers Match of the night. Edge clocks Michaels with the belt to get the cheap win. Winners: Edge and Triple H

Tuesday, Week 1, November 2005 Notes from the booker: RAW's weakest show so far. I'm excited about Jericho, and I guarantee I won't be treating him like a jobber. But he won't be returning for a few months, so I'll try to build the anticipation. I don't have any major plans for Chavo, Val Venis, Rob Conyway or Renee Dupree. These are all talented workers, so hopefully I'll come up with something. From Onlineonslaught.com RAW Ratings: 2,055,754 "The bad news? RAW has been in a ratings slump despite being the superior show overall. The good news? The number of viewers, from start to finish, continues to remain constant. I think their decline is due both to lack of public interest and not very compelling announced matches. Smackdown, for example, is getting more and more viewers each week, and I think there's a lesson to be learned about booking matches with lots of heat."

Taboo Tuesday, November 2005 Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, and Mick Foley welcome us from Key Arena in Seattle, WA. Then Carlito’s music hits and we get ready for his Cabana. ----- Carlito reminds everybody that he is the Intercontinental Champion, and tonight he has a match against one of three competitors. Those challengers will be his guests tonight. One by one, Angle, RVD, and Tajiri come out. Carlito immediately starts interrogating Angle on why he wouldn’t work with during last night’s tag match. Angle: “Why? Because you don’t deserve to be in the same ring with an Olympic gold medalist. None of you do. ECW? What a piece of trash. And when I win that IC belt, it’ll be the first step to giving this promotion some shred of credibility.” ----- Showstoppers vs. Kane and Eugene Foley: “I guess this means that ‘The World’s Greatest Tag Team’ will face the champions tonight!” JR: “Kane has been on a rampage lately. Will Big Show and HBK be able to stop him?” A damn fine match. Kane and Big Show dominate for the most part, but when they’re brawling outside, Michaels is able to get a clean pin over Eugene. With that, the Showstoppers become the new #1 Contenders. Winners: The Showstoppers ----- Steve Austin is backstage and taunts tonight’s opponent, CM Punk. He’s got a full case of beer with Punk’s name written all over it. ----- WWE World Tag Team Championship Cade and Murdoch © vs. World’s Greatest Tag Team Good match, but nothing special. Benjamin gets the pin with his T-Bone Suplex. Winners: WGTT ----- After the match, they celebrate and really put the belts over. Then JR hypes their upcoming match against The Showstoppers at Survivor Series. ----- Last Man Standing CM Punk vs. Steve Austin Austin is getting the most offense, but Punk is definitely holding his own in terms of technique and ability. Austin gets ready for the Stunner, but wait! Kurt Angle runs out and smacks him with a chair! Then he delivers the Angle Slam! Punk and Angle celebrate as the ref counts to 10. Winner: CM Punk ----- After the match, Angle grabs a mic and raises Punk’s hand in victory. “This is what I’m talking about! This is a man who has integrity and intelligence. This is a man who represents everything this sport stands for!” ----- Backstage, Edge talks about his WWE career, claiming that he’s been everywhere and done everything. He’ll use that experience in the ring tonight. ----- Intercontinental Championship Carlito © vs. RVD Dramatic pause when the challenger comes out, and then… Vs. Tajiri Both men look surprise. This becomes even more extreme when… Vs. Kurt Angle JR: “Bah gawd, King! It’s a Fatal Fourway for the Intercontinental Championship!” The match gets underway and it’s not as good as expected. Carlito looks really out of place, and Angle and RVD carry most of the load. In the end, RVD is out cold after a killer bump and Tajiri and Angle are going at in the ring. Angle is about to go for the pin after the Angle Slam when Steve Austin makes a run-in and returns the chair shot Angle gave him earlier. Carlito takes advantage and drapes his arm over Tajiri. Winner: Carlito ----- After the match, Steve Austin grabs a mic and challenges Kurt Angle to match on tomorrow’s RAW. Angle, barely conscious, fights through his pain and accepts. ----- Hype video for the main event. ----- John Cena vs. Triple H Lawler: “You know what this means?” JR: “Edge will be facing Ric Flair for the gold later on tonight!” A good match, based more on the competitors’ popularity than on the work involved. Winner: Triple H ----- Confirmation and hype for RAW’s main event, Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin ----- WWE Championship Edge © vs. Ric Flair A great 12 minute match. Flair hits all his major spots and Edge looks severely outmatched. The crowd is REALLY behind Flair, and when he finally locks in the figure four, the pop is nearly deafening. Winner: Ric Flair The show ends with the 17-time world champion raising the belt in victory.

Notes from the booker: Taboo Tuesday buy rate: 787,963 I'm surprised to see this get less buys than No Mercy. I thought for sure that Steve Austin alone would get a huge response, but I guess the declining economy has taken its toll on our audience. Match of the night was easily the main event, but the chemisty between The Showstoppers and Kane/Eugene was good as well. I'm wondering what's next for Cena and Edge, since they're effectively out of the title picture... at least for the time being. I'll see what I can come up with. ----- Smackdown! preview: In his first singles match since No Mercy, Lesnar takes on his old rival, The Undertaker. Will he earn the right to challenge for the title? Japanese sensation Jushin Thunder Lyger got a cheap win over the World Champion last week. Will his luck continue in their first singles match? Who will team with the Foundation in their six-man tag match against The Radicalz and Rey Mysterio? Announced matches: Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker Batista vs. Jushin Thunder Lyger The Foundation and ??? vs. The Radicalz and Rey Mysterio Matt Hardy vs. Randy Orton

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Great to see Flair with the belt, and even better to see that you took it off Edge! Carlito over RVD, Angle and Tajiri? I like Carlito and all but he is seriously behind those three on in-ring talent IMO. Push Tajiri, he rocks! Glad you put Punk over Austin, I've found in my games that there is nothing to do with Austin, other than having him job to the new guys. All in all a great diary so far, and I'll keep reading. BTW Lyger over Batista, you know you want to ;)

Yeah, Carlito doesn't hold a candle to any of those three ring-wise, but he's only held the belt for a month, and I don't want to establish a pattern of rapid title changes. Plus, every other title changed hands. Glad you like the diary :)

Smackdown, Week 1, November 2005 Tazz and Cole greet us from Key Arena in Seattle, WA. They hype the double main event before introducing Christian and his Peep Show. ----- Christian spends a moment putting himself over, saying it’s funny that the US Champ is from Canada. “But it’s just as well,” he continues, “because Captain Charisma is a global name. I am greater than national borders or silly ethnocentricism. I am Christian, the WWE United States Champion. I am Christian, former IC champion. I am Christian, former tag team champion. And soon I will be Christian, WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Because that’s just how I roll.” But a certain man will get a shot at the title before he does, and that man is Brock Lesnar, the guest on tonight’s Peep Show. Lesnar says he’s the total package, and Batista is just a cheap imitation. “I’ve come back to the WWE to do one thing: win the World Heavyweight Title. And there’s no man that can stop me.” Commercial. ----- WWE United States Championship Christian vs. Hardcore Holly We come back in time to see Holly’s entrance. The two have the most basic of brawls, and in about five minutes, Christian hits the Unprettier. He looks very pleased with himself, but the fans don’t buy it as a big accomplishment. Winner: Christian ----- Matt Hardy comes out and challenges Christian to a match at Survivor Series. Captain Charisma says he will have to “think about it” and that Matt still has to prove he’s in his league. Commercial. ----- William Regal vs. Booker T A good match. Booker dominates for the most part, but Regal’s tag team partner, Burchill, interferes and gets Regal the cheap pin. Winner: William Regal ----- After the match, Regal grabs a mic and hypes Burchill as an unstoppable monster. We’ll see him in singles action next week. Commercial. ----- We’re backstage with the members of The Foundation, Chris Daniels and Samoa Joe. They’re here to introduce their mystery partner… Cole: “It’s The Hurricane!” Shane Helms is out of costume, and cuts a promo explaining that he feels cheapened by the WWE and will prove tonight that he deserves a chance in the main event. Daniels concurs, explaining that Helms is a worker that’s been overlooked by WWE in favor of talentless hacks. ----- Randy Orton vs. Matt Hardy Christian once again joins us on commentary for the match. Tazz: “Hardy has been on quite the streak here on Smackdown.” Christian: “I have streaks in my underwear more famous than him.” A decent bout, but Orton doesn’t look like he’s putting much effort into it. Matt comes out on top after a clean twist of fate. Winner: Matt Hardy Commercial. ----- Backstage, Taker is getting ready in his dressing room when Brock and Lyger run in to attack. But he’s saved by Batista, and the two agree to watch each other’s backs. ----- The Radicalz w/ Rey Mysterio vs. The Foundation w/ Shane Helms A really good match. Helms got a lot of heat, but he managed to snag the pin after AJ Styles interfered and gave Mysterio the Styles Clash. Winner: The Foundation w/ Helms ----- After the match, The Radicalz demand that the Foundation face them at Survivor Series. In a cage! "You want to prove your the best? Then let's make sure nobody can interfere." Commercial ----- Batista vs. Jushin Thunder Lyger Batista was like an unleashed animal and showed why he’s the champion. Lyger got in some good offense, but he was clearly outmatched by Batista’s power. Winner: Batista ----- The announcers confirm that we’ll see The Radicalz vs. The Foundation in a cage match at Survivor Series. Commercial. ----- Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker This was probably match of the night because both men showed a lot of intensity. The action was very back and forth, but Brock came out on top after a clean pin. Winner: Brock Lesnar

Saturday, Week 1, November 2005 Notes from the booker: Smackdown went very well, but over the past few days I've discovered the errors of my booking ways. I've been focusing almost exclusively on the momentum of my workers without paying attention to their overall popularity. Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle have been the major victims of this practice. I'll try to remedy this as soon as possible. The good news? Brock Lesnar has become a major draw and is outselling all other superstars in merchandise sales. The newcomers, like AJ Styles and Chris Daniels, are also gaining a loyal following due to their pushes. ----- From Onlineonslaught.com: Smackdown ratings: 2,605,762 "You know you're doing something right when you ratings start strong and not only do you keep your audience for 2 hours, but you actually attract more people as the show goes on. Smackdown did just that, getting people to tune to see a fantasic main event. In fact, on Sky Sports, they had a staggering 80,000 more viewers for the last half hour than they did when the show first started. That says something. "I've heard that an indy wrestler will debut on next week's RAW. Sources say he'll be working with Carlito, and that the Intercontinental champ should be in a good position to pick up a few pointers. Be sure to keep an eye out for this." ----- RAW preview: Ric Flair became a 17 time world champion last week, but Triple H is hot on his heels. Although they're scheduled for a match at Survivor Series, can these two even coexist in the same locker room? CM Punk scored a stunning upset over the Texas Rattlesnake at Taboo Tuesday, and Austin is looking for revenge. What will happen when he faces Kurt Angle? The World's Greatest Tag Team are gaining quite a following on RAW, but the Showstoppers earned a shot at their titles. So far they have been treating each other respectfully, but will things turn ugly? Announced matches: Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle John Cena vs. Kane CM Punk vs. Tajiri Charlie Haas vs. The Big Show

RAW, Week 2, November 2005 Pre-Show: Rob Conway vs. Val Venis Renee Dupree interferes and gets Conway the pin. A good enough match that was supposed to work on the crowd but ended up making them a little restless instead. ----- Foley, JR, and Lawler welcome us from the Air Canada Center. They barely have time to hype Angle vs. Austin before the new WWE Champion makes his way to the ring. ----- “I’ve always said that to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. And guess what? Ric Flair is the man!” Massive pop. “I am a 17 time world champion, and at Survivor Series, I’ll show Triple H that I’m not trying to steal his spotlight; I AM the spotlight. He’s the underdog in this match! He’s the challenger!” Triple H takes exception to this and grabs a mic at the top of the ramp. “Why wait until Survivor Series? Let’s do this now, champ. Let’s prove who the bigger man is.” He starts walking to the ring, and Flair throws down his suit jacket and gets ready to brawl. “Not so fast,” says Eric Bischoff. “You want a fight so bad, Ric? Well let me introduce you to RAW’s newest acquisition… John Bradshaw Layfield!” JR: “He must have traded him for The Hurricane!” JBL joins Eric and the GM says that tonight we’ll see JBL, accompanied by Triple H, take on Ric Flair. Big pop for that. Commercial. ----- Kane vs. John Cena Kane is trying to vindicate himself after last week’s loss and he comes after Cena with a vengeance. He gets the win following interference from his follower, Eugene. Winner: Kane ----- Backstage, CM Punk and Kurt Angle sneak attack Tajiri. Foley: “So much for integrity.” ----- CM Punk vs. Tajiri A great match. Lots of back and forth action, but the backstage attack has obviously weakened Tajiri, and he’s no match for a fresh Punk. Winner: CM Punk Commercial ----- Carlito is already in the ring with the Cabana chairs. “Last week, at Taboo Tuesday, I defeated three challengers. I proved I am agreat Intercontinental Champion. I proved that I am very important to RAW. If I get hurt, or if I’m injured, that just wouldn’t be cool. So I’m here to introduce everyone to my new bodyguard, a man who can methodically tear apart his opponents as easily as I chew this apple. His name? Bryan Danielson.” Most of the audience doesn’t recognize the wrestler, but he comes out looking focused and intense. JR explains that we’ll see him in action next week. ----- Backstage Kurt Angle is tearing into Steve Austin. “I hope you brought plenty of beer, Steve, because after tonight, you’re gonna need something to dull your pain!” Commercial. ----- Ric Flair vs. JBL w/ Triple H These two don’t click, and it showed during this performance. But the match is short enough that it doesn’t do too much harm, and the crowd is really hot for it. Winner: Ric Flair ----- After the match, Triple H and JBL double team the new champ. But wait! Edge runs out and makes the save! He chases Trips and JBL from the ring and him and Ric shake hands afterwards. Commercial ----- Charlie Haas w/ Shelton Benjamin vs. The Big Show w/ Shawn Michaels These two don’t click much either, but they’re both good enough to play to their strengths. They show a lot of respect toward one another, and after a good 10 minutes, we’ve entered end game. Haas escapes a choke slam and climbs the turnbuckle.... And HBK pushes him down… right into The Big Show’s waiting hand. A chokeslam and it’s all over. Benjamin confronts HBK, and Michaels extends his hand to apologize… but then cheapshots him. The Showstoppers start beating down the champs then grab the belts and make sure everyone knows they’re going to win at Survivor Series. Commercial. ----- Kurt Angle vs. Steve Austin Angle has to carry this match due to Austin's neck problems, but the crowd is really hot and don’t notice any workrate deficiencies. CM Punk is at ringside coaching Angle, and just when Austin looks like he’s gonna get the win, Punk runs in and protects his mentor. The ref calls for the bell, but Austin is outnumbered and can’t hold his ground. But all the sudden RVD makes the save and runs them off. Him and Angle get into an intense staredown as the show fades. Winner via DQ: Steve Austin

Tuesday, Week 2, November 2005 Notes from the booker: RAW wasn't as good as expected. Steve Austin just doesn't seem to be drawing despite his undeniable popularity. I've also noticed that there aren't enough babyface midcarders on the RAW roster, so I'll be changing that as soon as possible. ----- From Onlineonslaught.com: RAW Ratings: 2,066,024 "A small improvement but nothing remarkable. While RAW has a few hot stories, a lot of the wrestlers just don't have enough momentum to draw a large audience." ----- Smackdown! preview: Brock Lesnar has been dominating since his return to the WWE. Can anyone stop him on his way to the title? Matt Hardy wants Christian in the ring, but the United States Champion has been avoiding their seemingly inevitable confrontation. Will he finally agree to put his title on the line? Will Eddie Guererro be able to teach Christopher Daniels a lesson in their first singles match? Announced matches: Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Sabin Samoa Joe vs. Heidenreich Eddie Guererro vs. Christopher Daniels Undertaker and Batista vs. Brock Lesnar and Christian

Smackdown, Week 2, November 2005 Pre-show: Booker T, Brian Kendrick, and Hardcore Holly vs. MNM and Nova Just giving them something to do. I don’t think Booker T is too happy about being in dark matches, though. Winners: Booker T, Kendrick, and Holly ----- And here we are at General Motors Palace in BC. Big hype for the tag team main event, along with Daniels vs. Guererro. ----- Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Sabin A decent enough CW bout. Sabin still has to prove himself to the audience and as a result most of the crowd is pretty restless. Winner: Mysterio ----- After the match, AJ Styles comes out and says he’s confirmed his match with Mysterio at Survivor Series. But it won’t be just any match – it will be the first in a best of seven series for the CW title! Commercial. ----- Burchill vs. The Mexicools This match is just a bit of fluff. Nothing particularly memorable, but Burchill shows his power and agility. Winner: Burchill ----- Backstage Lesnar is bragging to Orton and Kennedy about what he did to Taker last week. But the Deadman overhears and takes out his frustration on all three of them. Commercial. ----- Samoa Joe vs. Heidenreich Just a little something to show Joe’s technical style. The crowd isn’t particularly responsive, but they definitely get the idea. Winner: Samoa Joe ----- Chris Benoit gets on the stick and challenges Samoa Joe to a match next week. A Submissions Match! Joe agrees and the announcers can hardly contain themselves. Commercial. ----- Matt Hardy is the ring and challenges Christian to a match for the US Title at Survivor Series. Christian responds from the ramp and claims that Hardy still hasn’t proven he’s anywhere near his league. So he has a little surprise for him. He’ll give him the match if he can beat… Matt Hardy vs. Juventud Hardy takes care of this challenger in about 4 minutes. But Captain Charisma isn’t done. He sends out the next opponent… Matt Hardy vs. Nunzio Once again, nothing spectacular. A Twist of Fate in about 5 minutes ends the match. But Christian is still smiling and sends out his final pick: Matt Hardy vs. Jushin Thunder Lyger Now Hardy looks a bit concerned, as Lyger is a legitimate legend. This is a damn good match, too, as both competitors are giving it their all. It looks like Lyger will get the pin, but a wicked reversal puts Hardy on top. Christian shakes his head and starts grumbling. “Fine. You and me. Survivor Series.” Big pop. “But I’ll end your streak and send you back to Heat.” Commercial. ----- Christopher Daniels vs. Eddie Guererro A fine bout, but not as good as expected. Samoa Joe interferes and Guererro is counted out. Winner via count-out: Christopher Daniels ----- Batista is getting ready for his match, but then Lesnar and Christian ambush him from behind. They beat him down for a few minutes before laughing maniacally. Commercial. ----- Batista and Undertaker vs. Christian and Lesnar Easily match of the night. The heat between Batista and Lesnar is off the charts. Hardy decides to make his presence known and Christian picks up a chair to defend himself. The ref calls for the bell but nobody seems to care, as the three brawlers are going at in the ring while Captain Charisma is battling Hardy outside. Winners via DQ: Batista and Taker

Saturday, Week 2, November 2005 Notes from the booker: Smackdown was a decent show, but I've got to come up with something a little more original than tag matches for my main event. I also noticed that William Regal is inexplicably over and has quite a bit of momentum, so maybe I'll use that to my advantage next week. I hope some of that heat rubs off on Burchill. From Onlineonslaught.com: Smackdown! ratings: 2,592,349 "A bit of a dip, but that's probably because of a lackluster main event. We've seen these combinations before, I think. And what are they doing with Undertaker? I think he should be reserved more for special appearances than this sort of thing. And apparently the fans agree." RAW preview: Edge surprisingly came to Ric Flair's aid last week. What were his motives? The Showstoppers have turned their feud with the tag champs into something much more personal. What will happen when Shawn Michaels and Shelton Benjamin square off for the second time in RAW history? Kurt Angle and his protege CM Punk started to attack Steve Austin but ECW alumni RVD chased them off. Will he be able to defend his honor this week? Announced matches: Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin RVD and Steve Austin vs. CM Punk and Kurt Angle Intercontinental Title Carlito (c) vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Val Venis Triple H and JBL vs. Ric Flair and Edge
