Tigerkinney
Melody Cuthill vs. Tamara McFly Can't see Melody losing the belt in her first defence. Katie Kraven vs. Alicia Strong I see your user character putting Strong over to set up Cuthill- Strong for the title next month. The Red Terror vs. Principessallen Actually quite difficult to call, Principessallen have more talent but Red Terror have been getting a pretty focused push. Glorious Power vs. Good Lookin’ Bunny GLB have more of a future as a Tag Team and Fish's main focus will always be singles glory but there's no titles on the line here so Glorious Power go over in this one. Lilly & Rose vs. The Odd Squad Neither team are likely to become your first tag champions but despite losing often I feel The Odd Squad have been getting a more focused push, due to having more exposur, where as Lilly & Rose have been losing and been directionless at the same time. Joanne Rodriguez vs. Suzanne Brazzle I envisage some form of cheating will see J-Ro edge this one. Nene Ebina vs. April Appleseed Your user-character (not you personally) seems to have a thing for April Appleseed, so Appeseed wins.

markish
From ExtremeWrestlingInsider.com: CWWF: Frontline Thursday of Week 4, May 2008 Windsor Arena Hall in Ontario, Canada Review by Michael E. Dawson The fallout of last month’s title tournament, the most recent show from Canada’s only all-female wrestling promotion has a lot of momentum to build on! Let’s see if they manage it… Our hosts are Rock Downpour and Katie Cameron. PROMO- Katie Kraven is out to lament her loss in last month’s title match, but promises she’ll get her chance again. She segues into discussing the CWWF’s two main goals of highlighting female athletes and putting on great wrestling matches and brings out Alicia Strong to show both of those goals in action. (D-) Alicia Strong vs. Katie Kraven Both women shake hands to start this match as Rock and Cameron discuss how this will be Strong’s last match with the CWWF for a while. That’s a shame, as she’s only just got the Canadian fans behind her. This is in evidence with the duelling chants for both women throughout the match. The action itself focuses around a friendly game of one-upmanship as either woman tries to outdo the other. While this does make the match seem like an exhibition match that does actually fit with both women’s characters. Besides, they are both more than talented enough to make it work. After close to twenty minutes of back-and forth, the ‘Hell Kat’ counters an attempted Angel Driver (Tiger Driver) into the Hell’s Cradle (Perfect Inside Cradle) for the three count! Alicia is straight back up and teases some tension, before a smiling handshake and a hug! I hope she’s back soon, because she has all the tools needed to put on a great match and I’d love to see her in an emotional feud if she can have this good an exhibition match. Winner: Katie Kraven in 18:08 © The Odd Squad vs. Lilly & Rose Our second face/face match here, which is a bit strange. Eve and Kris start by having friendly handshakes with both Kate and Debbie, then both the commentary team, most of the front row and finally each other. Eve extends her hand to referee Matthew White, but then jerks it away and runs her hand through her hair as Plum shouts ‘NOW WE’RE HEELS!’ and White looks disappointed. The match, as you’d expect, is more of a comedy match than anything as the Odd Squad dominate over the uber-face Lilly & Rose with some OTT heel antics. It gets old quickly, with only Plum’s loud announcement that she would punch an old lady in the front row getting a chuckle from me. In the end, Debbie falls prey to the spectacularly named 2008: The Year Plum Broke Your Face (Demolition Decapitation) for the loss. After the match, the Odd Squad go back to shaking hands, delighting Matthew White by finally giving him one. Plum does not apologise to the old lady. This was too long for a comedy match. Winners: The Odd Squad in 10:22 (E+) Nene Ebina vs. April Appleseed Neither woman has really done much to impress me so far in the CWWF, and this match is no exception. It’s not that they are bad wrestlers or that they do anything wrong, I just don’t connect with them. I think the audience feels it too, as they are quite quiet throughout. The match is more than acceptable as Nene stretches April and April makers sporadic comebacks, but it’s missing something. In saying that, they did both work well together and brought out a bit more of a spark from each other than I’m used to seeing from them. April scores a Crossbody off the top for the victory and we move on. I didn’t hate it, but that’s all I can say. Winner: April Appleseed in 10:09 (D) PROMO- Wanda Fish comes out with Katayama for her upcoming tag match and goes on a rant about Tamara McFly’s title match later on tonight. She points out the fact that she has defeated McFly both times she has faced her and then accuses Kraven of cheating her out of the title last month. The ‘Glorious One’ promises to make both women pay and expose the corruption in CWWF management before calling out GLB, who she calls ‘a warm-up act’. (E) Glorious Power vs. Good Lookin’ Bunny With a fired-up Wanda and the ever-dominant Katayama on the heel side, this match suffers from being a little one-sided. GLB are both great sellers, though, so it almost works. Jess in particular is great at playing Spencer Marks in the heel corner for a while. The crowd don’t bite on the hot tag to Goodlooks when it comes and they are right not to as she only gets a little bit of token offence before being hit with a Powerful Lariat from Suzue. Wanda, as per usual, shines with her old school heel mannerisms and ‘Puro Power’ again looks dominant, handily finishing Bunny off with a Sit-Out Powerbomb while Wanda holds Kat at bay. Was pretty much an extended squash, but it did what it needed to do. Winners: Glorious Power in 11:15 (D) Joanne Rodriguez vs. Suzanne Brazzle It says a lot about how well this gimmick is working for them in CWWF that J-Ro feels incomplete without Raven by her side. I like how they’re working the gimmick, too, with her being a diva outside the ring, but still showing her true skill inside the ring. The story of this match basically revolves around that skill being too much for the ‘Miracle Blonde’, as J-Ro wrestles circles around her. From there it develops into a cat-and-mouse game as Suzanne tries desperately to avoid or counter a determined Rodriguez’ attacks with J-Ro looking on top of things throughout, despite the occasional flurry from Brazzle. The end, however, finds the ‘Miracle Blonde’ quickly countering an attempted J-Rocker (Roll of the Dice) and floating into a Miracle Tonic (Yoshi Tonic) for the three count! Good showing by two very talented women. J-Ro looks appalled by the loss and sulks out of the ring as Suzanne celebrates. Winner: Suzanne Brazzle in 13:37 (D+) The Red Terror vs. Principessallen The Reds are, of course, undefeated going into this match, but their awkwardly named opponents certainly have what it takes to put an end to that. This match eschews the traditional Canadain tag style for a more Japanese style, as the two veterans tend to pair off against each other, with their protégés doing similar. With that in mind, it becomes obvious that Ammis is the odd woman out here, as she looks very green when not on offence. ‘Double A’, to her credit, looks like she’s been a pro for years, despite this only being her third official match. The match is a straight down the middle back-and forth, with very minimal goofing around from the Russian team, which is a refreshing change for them. Nikita is able to show why she has been a staple in AAA as Vixxen for so long as, when not reliant on the gimmick, she is a fine technician. After a while the match breaks down into a brawl and, amidst all the chaos Ammis grabs the Russian flag and goes to hit Amber with it behind the ref’s back, but Allen is able to duck it and immediately roll Comrade Zoe into the Allen Key Lock! (Cattle Mutilation) ‘Pessa keeps Czech in check (ha!) and Ammis soon taps out to hand the Communist duo their first loss in the CWWF! Perfectly acceptable wrestling. Winners: Principessallen in 13:01 (D+) PROMO- The Champ is here! Melody comes out and informs the audience that she had intended to take the night off after winning the title last month, but was instead forced to put the belt on the line against Tamara McFly. She says that a match with Tammy is basically the same as a night off. She goes on to complain about the state of CWWF’s Main Event, as she claims it only contains herself and noone else. She urges someone on the lower card to step up and at least try to provide a challenge, before calling out Tamara with a yaw and a look at her watch, telling her she’ll make this quick! (E+) Melody Cuthill vs. Tamara McFly McFly starts this match off with a fire lit under her and dominates the first part of the match, much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Indeed, Melody struggles to get anything going at all until McFly misses an attempted leg drop off the second rope. From there Melody is able to kick things up a gear and we get a great striking exchange reminiscent of last month’s match between Kraven and Cuthill. McFly’s recent Japanese exposure has clearly helped her refine her strikes and she comes out on top of that exchange. They continue to go all out as Melody slowly starts to chip away at Tammy’s offence, until McFly is left with no choice but to attempt the Delorean Driver (Northern Light’s Bomb), which is countered into an attempted Melody Maker (Cradle Piledriver) that Tammy is able to escape and both women are at a stale-mate! They both pause for breath for only a second before charging back into the fray! After another intense exchange, Tammy counters a second Melody Maker attempt into the McFly Roll (Manami Roll) which keeps Cuthill down long enough for a three count! Unfortunately for McFly, Wanda Fish comes out of nowhere and leaps on the apron, distracting referee Matthew White! McFly sees this and breaks the pin to run off Fish, only to turn back round into the Melody Maker for the three! This was a great example of why Cuthill is a great champion for the CWWF, as she was able to carry a decent-but-not-great wrestler in McFly to a heated and exciting match. Good stuff here. Winner and STILL CWWF Champion: Melody Cuthill in 11:42 (C-) OVERALL: I’m still waiting for them to kick it into that second gear, but they are doing a great job of laying down foundations. The show was filled with decent to great action and the McFly/Fish feud in particular is picking up steam. Eventually they’re going to have get over that bump towards being a must-see promotion, though, otherwise people may start losing interest…. markish
Card for Escalation From CWWF.com: Last month we saw Melody Cuthill successfully defend her title against Tamara McFly, and she put the undercard of the CWWF on notice. Meanwhile, the war between McFly and Wanda Fish is heating up, as it was a distraction from the ‘Glorious One’ that decided the main event. Things are definitely heating up in the CWWF as we prapre for ‘Escalation’ this Thursday! We have the full card right here: CWWF Championship Melody Cuthill vs. Suzanne Brazzle Last month Melody Cuthill made it clear that she wanted someone to step up and provide her with a new challenge as she defended her CWWF Championship. CWWF management heard her request and have decided to give Suzanne Brazzle the chance! The ‘Miracle Blonde’ has looked impressive thus far in the CWWF, scoring pinfall victories over Wanda Fish, Raven Nightfall and, just last month, Joanne Rodriguez. Cuthill has the big match experience and has looked nigh-unbeatable in the CWWF, but they don’t call her the ‘Miracle Blonde’ for nothing! Glorious Power vs. The Odd Squad Wanda Fish has made a list of two names that she feels need to pay for crossing her: Tamara McFly and Katie Kraven. To that end, McFly and Kraven have decided it’s in their best interests to team up and face the threat together as they laid out a challenge to face Glorious Power this month. Unfortunately for them, the ‘Glorious One’ was one step ahead and had already challenged The Odd Squad to a tag match. Is Fish overlooking the bizarre but talented twosome, though? Kristabel Plum and Eve Grunge could make a huge statement this Thursday! The Dream Team vs. Tamara McFly and Katie Kraven After they were denied a shot at Glorious Power, McFly and Kraven quickly found themselves challenged by the Dream Team. Joanne Rodriguez claims that she and Kraven have some unfinished business, while Raven Nightfall will be looking to bounce back from a series of losses. McFly and Kraven are not the kind of women to underestimate an opponent, but with Wanda Fish setting her sights on them their focus could be elsewhere! It’s all-star tag team action at ‘Escalation’! Nikita Czech vs. Amber Allen Until they met Principessallen last week, the Red Terror of Comrade Nikita and Comrade Zoe was undefeated. On that night Amber Allen was able to make Zoe Ammis tap out to her deadly Allen Key Lock, but this month she goes one-on-one with Nikita Czech! The, uh, ‘Russian’ athlete is a decorated tag-wrestler, but she is also a deadly solo star. She wants to prove that Allen got lucky last week and do so in the name of the Mother Country! Zoe Ammis vs. Principessa Eager to appease her Comrade for their loss last week, Zoe Ammis has followed Nikita’s example and challenged Allen’s tag-team partner to a one-on-one match! Ammis is a relative rookie in the sport and she’ll face her toughest challenge yet in the well-travelled veteran Principessa! Will youth win out, or is the experience advantage just going to prove too much for the Red Terror member? Dragon Machine vs. Good Lookin’ Bunny Despite considerable success elsewhere, Good Lookin’ Bunny have so far failed to make an impression on CWWF’s fledgling tag division. They’re going to look to change that as they face the Japanese tandem of Nene Ebina and Ginko Kuroda! Sijnce teaming unsuccessfully at CWWF’s first show, the two members of Dragon Machine have tried their hand at singles competition, with similar results. GLB would do well not to let their CWWF records sell them short, however, as Kuroda and Ebina are a potentially deadly team! Stephanie Wade vs. April Appleseed Although last month is the last we’ll see of Alicia Strong for a while, USPW’s Women’s Division will still be well represented in CWWF. This Thursday will see the Canadian debut of the almost outrageously talented USPW Women’s champion Stephanie Wade! Armed with no lack of confidence and her devastating Superkick finishing move, the ‘Superstar’ will be looking to make an immediate impact as she takes on the veteran April Appleseed! Prediction Form: Melody Cuthill vs. Suzanne Brazzle Glorious Power vs. The Odd Squad The Dream Team vs. Tamara McFly and Katie Kraven Nikita Czech vs. Amber Allen Zoe Ammis vs. Principessa Dragon Machine vs. Good Lookin’ Bunny Stephanie Wade vs. April Appleseed
Tigerkinney
Melody Cuthill vs. Suzanne Brazzle Miracles do happen, but it wont be happening this time. Glorious Power vs. The Odd Squad Pretty much and extended squash The Dream Team vs. Tamara McFly and Katie Kraven Unless we are heading down a new path, I see The Dream Team only being a temporary roadblock for McFly and Kraven, who want to get back in the ring with Glorious Power. Nikita Czech vs. Amber Allen I see Allen following up victory in tag competion with victory in singles, where she is even more of a clear favourite. Zoe Ammis vs. Principessa Make it a clean sweep for Principessalllen Dragon Machine vs. Good Lookin’ Bunny A little higher up the ladder Stephanie Wade vs. April Appleseed The preview builds Wade up as a threat, so I'll be expecting a debut victory.
