NMFC 5: Sadist's Paradise

Tonight we saw lots of action. The Lightweight tournament definately had an impact on contention for the title. And we saw who among the NMFC roster could go far.

To start off the night, we saw two featherweights Henry Baldwin and Ian Linderman go head to head inside the cage. The first round was a decisive one, which saw Baldwin out-striking the man who is known for his amazing striking ability. The second round went a different direction. Mid-way through the round we saw Baldwin get the double leg. Baldwin slowly worked his way into halfguard where he quickly applied an arm triangle for the tapout victory.

Next was the start of our 4-man lightweight tournament. Ranmdy Carsley fought Brock Youdale. we saw carsley tak the first two round, getting a takedown and controlling the fight. then in the third, Youdale outgrappled a ragged looking Carsley and got the takedown. but before he could inflict damage the round was over. In the fourth and final round, Carsley was taken down again. But as Youdale tried to pass guard, he was sweeped. And Youdale was overmatched and his back was taken and the rear naked choke resulted in the tap.

In the other Semi-final lightweight tournament bout, Bosco Curbeam fought Luigi Kolasinski. Early in the round, Curbeam showed why they called him Bad Attitude. quickly asserting himself and gettin a takedown. from guard Curbeam began the assault, pounding Kolasinski so bad the ref stopped the fight.

Next, in the light heavyweight divison, two rising stars in Logan Sky and Jon Silvers duked it out. This fight was all Sky. The only offense Silvers had was a knockdown in the first, but after that. Sky demolished Silvers for every round. He almosted finished Silvers off late in the fourth, but he was saved by the bell.

In another light heavyweight bout, Titus Mostel fought Moe Muschin. Muschin is called "Crushin" but he did nothing of the sort here tonight. Mostel is known for his glass chin, but Muschin just would not stand and bang. Instead he just held him against the cage for 4 rounds.

Next in the Heavyweight division, Renato went to war with Neville Granville. These two went back and forth in the first two rounds. with Renato taking the first with his wrestling, and Granville taking the second with his striking, even rocking Renato with a big uppercut. The third was an interesting one. They slugged it out early which had the Bradley Beach fans on their feet cheering. But then, Renato got a surprising takedown over an exhausted Granville. Renato's ground and pound rocked Granville, making him almost defenceless as he passed to side control. Renato quickly locked on the americana for the win.

Next was the first rematch in NMFC history, Tito del Sol wanted to avenge his loss to Hisamitsu Sasaki and he did just that. Sasaki tried a takedown immediately but was rocked by a counter punch that knocked him to the ground. not even gettin mount, del Sol just rained down bombs to knock Sasaki out.

In the finals of our lightweight tournament, Bosco Curbeam fought Randy Carsley. Surprisingly Curbeam won every round but the final round with his wrestling. But in the fourth he almost blew it. Trying to roll out from under Carsley he gave up his back late in the fourth. As he locked the arm under the chin, the buzzer sounded. Giving Curbeam the lacluster decision win.

Up next was two undefeated fighters, battling for the light heavyweight divison title. Esteban Vega fought defending champ Julio Gutierrez. These two went back and forth for 8 straight rounds. most of them went to the underdog Esteban Vega. Winning the title in a lackluster decision win.

In a highly hyped fight, Featherweight champion Ivan Bokhour defended his crown against top contender Sophan Sastrowardoya. The first round consisted of Bokhour's striking out doing the cage control of Sastrowardoya. The second round went like this, Sastrowardoya just could not wrestle Bopkhour to the ground, eating many shots trying. In the third you began to see Sastrowardoya's true gameplan, which was to wear the champion down. Though Bokhour won the round through strikin, he began to look ragged at the end of the round. In the fourth, Sastrowardoya knew Bokhour was done. Right out of the gate he got the takedown, from there it was all for the challenger. Getting to half guard and annhilating Bokhour until referee Joseph Landis stopped the fight.

KOTO 5 : SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES

Great Show, and we are rising fast. The Prelims started and finished when Heath Kaladaris dominated Bart Diggs to a Unanimous Decision in Round 3. Kaladaris proved that he is 'The Total Package' when he dominated Biggs on the Ground, the Feet, and the Clinch. We expect more from this upstart.

Spencer Rubenstein also scored another victory, a Unanimous Decision over Top Brit Michael Bannon in Round 3. Rubenstein took down the Brit in Round 1 and proceded to beat Bannon at his own game, which is Ground and Pound. In Rounds 2 and 3, he used his jab and punch to his advantage, keeping Bannon away and winning the fight.

Vikram Sithlayan started off the tournament successfully, Arm-Barring English Mikey Wallace in the first round. Dominating him in the stand up and taking him down to finish the fight. Nik Minear won a convincing Split Decision over Jungo Futagawa. Procopio Golias scored a Submission victory, via Rear Naked Choke against Chikafusa Abukara, again in the first round. The last winner was Upstart Diego Arteta, who TKO'ed his way into the Semi-Finals, over Randy Carsley.

The Semi-Finals started up, and Vikram Sithalayan dominated Nik Minear to a Unanimous Decision in the 3rd Round, allowing him to proceed to the finals. Procopio Golias, was upset by Mexican Diego Arteta, yet again by TKO in the first round. The Finals are set. Diego Arteta vs. Vikram Sithalayan for the Welterweight Championship.

The Finals started, and finished pretty quckly, with the upset being pulled off once again. Diego Arteta became the KOTO Welterweight Champion in pretty convincing Fashion, KO'ing Favorite Vikram Sithalayan with Punches in Under 30 Seconds. We have a new champion ladies and gentlemen, perhaps one for the ages.

The Awards are in, KO Of the Night obviously went to Diego Arteta. Vikram Sithalayan and Mikey Wallace got Fight of the Night. Submission of the Night went to Procopio Golias.

NMDC 6: Reign of Terror

The night started with action in the lightweight division. Lucas Mueller met uo with Thomas O'Cann. The first round was nothing special. Mueller got O'Cann in a clinch and held onto it all round. The second went a little faster, Mueller got a takedown early and slowly worked to pass. Then the match was definately over. Muller pounded him out from side control.

Next in the light heavyweight division, two rising stars Adrian Pascal and Bart Diggs met in the cage. Immediately Pascal shot in and got the easy takedown. From there he proceeded to mount and started to rain down shots. Then in an attempted sweep Diggs gave up his back. Pascal quickly took advantage and slid his arm underneat Diggs' chin for the tap.

To start off the heavyweight tournament tonight, hard-hitting veteran Chuck Dooley went to war against hot prospect Spencer Rubenstein. The first round was close, they slugged it out for the whole 5 minutes. In the second, Dooley tried to get into a grapple and was rocked dead on the chin with a right. Rubenstein dove right on him and continued the assault. The ref stopped it quickly.

In the second semi for the heavyweight tournament, defending champion Murilo Satinho fought Christopher Sharp. In a disappointing match-up, Satinho was the aggressor but just would not finish the fight at any circumstances. He smothered Sharp for all 5 rounds for the lackluster decision win.

In the next bout, two undefeated light heavyweights battled for contention. Hyun-Shik Lim fought Ryuji Ganaha. This match was nothing special. They duked it out on the feet for five rounds, with Lim having the obvious advatage. But he would not finish the fight. In an average match, Lim won his debut.

Up next, two featherweight went to the cage with high hopes. This match was back and forth. Some rounds went to del Sol with his striking, but most of them went to O"Donnell while he smothered him against the cage. O"Donnell took the decision.

In the next bout, two lightweight sluggers fought. Watson Viana made quick work of Moss Gilbert in the first round. Rocking him with the first punches of the bout. Viana won by knockout in less than 30 seconds.

In a bout for the lightweight championship, Champion Lazaro Campos fought HM Menzel. This fight was full of excitement. Mezel dominated the fight in the first three rounds. Then Campos began his comeback, taking round four 10-8. Early in the fifth, Campos rocked Menzel and forced him into the cage. Continuing to swing for the fences, Campos was declared the victor by TKO.

In the finals of the Heavyweight Title tournament tonight, Champion Murilo Satinho fought Spencer Rubenstein. They went back and forth for five rounds. Satinho won most of them. In the sixth round, Rubenstein shocked the crowd by rocking the bear-like Satinho. Immediately afterward he switched up his game and grabbed the arm of Satinho, locking in the armbar for the title victory via tapout.

KOTO 6 : WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER

Hell, has officially frozen over... And the first fight started off with Fireworks. The Battle Knight moved forward one step, as Guilherme De Barros destroyed Doug Minnelli with a brutal Knee to the face in the second round. The Brits loved it, and couldn't wait to see more, and with the rest of the card, you could definitely expect it. Sophan Sastrowardoya pulled off an upset, if you will, catching Tito Del Sol in a brutal Arm-Bar, tapping the Philippino in the first round.

The Middleweight Tournament Started off, with Esteban Vega and former ALPHA-1 Star Juro Fukazawa. Vega pulled off the easy submission in the third round, catching him in an Americana to finish off the fight. Wes Hersch also pulled off an upset tonight, submitting Sutton Ripley with an Arm-Bar, and just nearly avoiding the knockout. It was considered an upset in the sense that it was a first round finish. Jakuchu Abe also pulled off a submission victory, Arm-Barring Genki Shinashi in the first round. Tora Mizwar also scored a victory, TKO'ing Bixente Fontaine in the 3rd Round with Elbows.

Esteban Vega was upset by Hersch, but did not lose, He was upset in the fashion of letting it go the distance, and winning a narrow Split Decision in the third round, after a match filled with thrills, spills and even a few takedowns. Jakuchu Abe also pulled off the submission over Tora Mizwar with a Guillotine Choke. So The Finals were set, Esteban Vega vs. Jakuchu Abe.

But before we could see the finals, we saw yet another Heavyweight Title fight, where we saw Murilo Satinho Knock Out an ageing Norbert Vinkus. He took Vinkus down and pounded him out from the guard until he scored the victory and the referee stopped the match.

The Middleweight Clash finally came to fruition, when we saw Jakuchu Abe submit Esteban Vega in Round 3 with an arm-bar, after a definite contender for Fight of the Year. Jakuchu took Vega down in Round 3 and proceded to beat the living crap out of him before catching the arm, and tapping the mexican in 31 seconds.

KO of the Night went To Guilherme 'Zoom' De Barros, who really zoomed his way to victory with that Knee KO. Submission of the night, or should I say Submissions, went to Jakuchu Abe, who finished all three of his matches. Fight of the Night went to Esteban Vega and Wes Hersch for their back and forth battle.

Esteban Vega (3-0) def. Juro Fukazawa (11-8) via Submission (Americana) @ 2:44 of Round 3

Wes Hersch (1-0) def. Sutton Ripley (13-3) via Submission (Arm-Bar) @ 1:51 of Round 1

Jakuchu Abe (1-0) def. Genki Shinashi (6-2) via Submission (Arm-Bar) @ 3:29 of Round 1

Tora Mizwar (4-0) def. Bixente Fontaine (8-3) via TKO @ 3:18 of Round 3
