Calgary Stampede Wrestling

A Brief History: Stu Hart, a reknowned tough guy and shoot wrestler in his time, opened Stampede Wrestling in 1948, promoting his shows under the banner of the NWA. Stampede Wrestling, in its better days, was one of the best wrestling companies in Canada, if not in all of North America. However, in recent years, under the guidance of Bruce Hart, one of Stu's many sons, the company is starting to show strong signs of failure. The wrestling and boxing commission of Calgary was looking for any reason to remove Stu Hart's licence, after many shows featured strong violence, more so than other wrestling promotions. These included low blows in almost every match, and Bad News Allen taking a dinner fork to the foreheads of his opponents. Stu Hart had grown tired of his sons booking, and disheartened with continually losing money.

And Now? From England, Ray Wilson has found a new home in Calgary, currently residing in Hart House. Intentionally moving to Canada to work for Stu Hart in the ring, a competent babyface jobber. However, after breaking several ribs in the Dungeon, Wilson decided he'd rather make his money as a referee. He'd often pitched the idea to Stu and Bret Hart of being let book a few shows on the road, giving Bruce a few nights off. Stu decided to let Wilson co-book the shows with Bruce instead, much to the dislike of Bruce. And that is where our story brings us now...
