I perceived his character as a cross between a "holier than thou" personality and someone who is more "metro-mainstream" versus the typical PSW superstar. So, with that being said, it was a lot of fun to write for him. So much so that it made me question whether or not to bring him in as an active PSW wrestler.... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Like the Bryan Holmes/ The Ring Generals alliance it makes sense and even though Bryan does not need them I think it is a great match.

The overall card was great, I really enjoy how you have written PSW thus far.

The more I've thought over the Holmes/Generals trio... the more it makes sense. All three of them are true technical wrestlers (at least in my version)... Plus all three have a healthy attitude to them (Holmes more stern where as "The Ring Generals" are more arrogant youth). This way Dean and Marv get a rub from the biggest heel in the company (giving them a chance to move up the ranks) as well as it gives Holmes some backing as we move forward with the storyline.

As the months go on their alliance will make more sense... Rather than just being a combination of three like-minded people. Their alliance name, reason for aligning, and who their targets are will come with time.

Late January 2009

... Change of Pace ...

First and foremost, It was my decision. I wasn't pressured by Mitch, or really anyone for that matter, to pull my character from our live events. Honestly, it was one of those decisions that came about as I began to preview the PSW environment, "on-screen", going forward into 2009.

"The Deadly SIN's" had run their course. A once strong faction that was now, creatively, forced into a backseat role. So, instead of standing along side and allow such a group to fall into a lessened situation... I decided to go in an entirely different direction.

While some question my motives, It really comes down to two reasons for such a move:

1) Creatively we needed a new landscape.

2) My Sobriety

The second reason many may not understand, however, it's come to a point where I feel like I'm gaining ground on my addiction. The shakes are starting to subside, my mindset starting to become uncluttered, and my Buddhist inspired mentality is beginning to take shape... Creating a more well-adjusted human being. With that being said, the grind of juggling both an on and off screen position was continuously a problem for me. At this point, it's best to move forward creatively than forcing my in-ring persona down others throats.

With that aside, I can't help but feel like a proud father when I see the buzz that's circulating the internet wrestling sites over Mitch's controversial decision in this month's Main Event.

"Did you see?"

"See what?"

"It's everywhere... TotalExtremeWrestling.com, WrestlingNews.com, WrestlingInsider.com, all of them... They are all picking up "the count" scenario!"

An intern with PSW runs into the room with nothing short of a huge smile running across his face. It's good to see him happy though... Most interns, well this is our first, He practically lives on soup everyday as we can't pay him... And most of the roster can't stand the guy either. Sadly.

"Seriously? That's great... What are they saying?"

I responded, A little shocked but more or less playing up to our Intern's level.

"Nothing too crazy. Just stating that the event took place and that it generated a lot of negative reaction within the Ministry following the scenario. Borderline riot stuff."

"Perfect."

That's exactly what I was going for. Mitch Naess, a rather bland character "on-screen" since his company opened, needed to interject himself into the action. However, My main focus was not to rest on traditional wrestling means... Turning him right away. There was much more that was going to transpire... Much more that would eventually change the landscape of PSW.

"Do you want me to drum up a press release? Send some out on the subject? See if we can push the story a little longer on the wrestling sites? We've seen our hit counts sky-rocket since the story was made."

"I say we run with it. Any press is good press if you ask me."

Well, not really. However, PSW is a relatively small company only really known in the Tri-State area. We needed something... BAD... As our overall profits were starting to dip and our marked popularity was becoming rather stale.

There it was. Single handedly the most talked about moment since KILLER Colossus's return... Now... We just needed to capitalize on the fan-fare.

... It's time to go to work ...

NEWS: Pro Wrestling Industry shifting toward Hardcore Wrestling?

4th week of January 2009

http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/TonyZobeck/GhenghisRahn.jpghttp://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/TonyZobeck/FreddieDatsun.jpghttp://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/TonyZobeck/Logos/PSW_alt.jpg

|| Hardcore Wrestling upswings once again ||

Pro Wrestling progresses in stages. In reality, The industry acts primarily upon "copy-cat" stylings as once someone is successful using a certain approach... Others potentially follow suit. Very seldom do you ever see a company's product completely stand-out from the rest of the wrestling landscape.

Currently, it seems that the Pro Wrestling Industry at large is beginning to embrace hardcore wrestling all over again. Now, it's quite easy to see that the action produced by the "Big Three" has started to shift ever-so-slightly in the direction of more brutality, however, it wasn't until this last month where all the pieces fell into a row. We here, at TotalExtremeWrestling.com, will review what has taken place thus far:

Genghis Rahn wins the TCW World Championship.

Freddie Datsun, before retirement, wins the USPW World Championship.

The Rise of Hardcore-based Promotions such as PSW

While it may seem like quincidance... We can assure you that it's certainly not. What many before called "The Dark Ages", the 90's extreme wars, may be on an upswing back toward the average wrestling fan. What will this mean for companies like USPW, despite having a known hardcore warrior as champion, where their product wouldn't be able to fit such a industry shift?

Only time will tell...

Then again, Vince had evil intentions in doing so. While Mitch did swerve the victory in Bryan's favor (the most hated heel in PSW aside from the visiting Sensational Singh), He was noticbly unhappy at the close of the match and even stormed out of the "Ministry". It'll all take shape pretty soon but it will, at least at first, show Mitch to not be all that bad of a guy... Just making a decision that he felt was best.

As for a diary, You should def. give it a go. I love reading through new diaries... Seeing what the creator has conjured up in their mind from the onset. Can be a very cool read. One thing though, whatever company you run with... Make sure that you, personally, enjoy the process or else you'll burn out. Maybe try the Diary preview thread? Could help.

Freddie Datsun retired? Damn, that sucks. Freddie always one of those guys that seemed to be on the bubble... he could be a Main Eventer, but always suffers because he's more than willing to step aside to make others look good. I also recall what Hulk Hogan said on the show, "Off the Record". Verbatim: "Some people want to be at the top [. . .], but others just want a little money and a couple of main events, and that's good enough for them. [. . .]"

Would have been a great veteran force on the roster, but again, at the start we had Braun, Martin, and Morgan to fill that role.

I've thought about bringing him in from a non-wrestling role but there's a good chance that his price would be too large for me. I've been lucky to find some talented people who don't really cost much.

http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/TonyZobeck/Banners/news.jpg

NEWS: Billy Russell to walk out of PSW?

4th Week of January 2009

http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/TonyZobeck/Wrestlers/BillyRussell.jpg
|| Russell is on his way out? ||

Reports are indicating that former MMA superstar, Billy Russell, may be on the verge of walking out of PSW when his contract expires in 30 days. There have been rumors circulating as of late that Billy is unhappy with how he's been treated by headbooker, John Greed, and believes that the young wrestling mind is out to "bury him".

It's been reported before that part of Billy Russell's contract states that he would receive a title reign at some point during his tenure, something said to be very important to Russell. Despite being 7-0 since joining the company, however, such a title opportunity has not come his way. Many question WHY Greed hasn't followed with his promise.

There is another rumor floating around as to why Greed may be holding off on Russell's ascent with the main reason being the rise of Bryan Holmes. Holmes, which many felt was a much bigger signing that Russell... in a sense trumping their signing of Billy a month before, has seen a steady climb within the Pittsburgh based hardcore promotion. With that being said, Billy Russell has seemingly become the "odd man out" as time went on... racking up victories, yes, however, lost in the midcard shuffle.

Will Billy Russell walk out on PSW or can the two sides come together on an agreement going forward?

Stop back for more information as this story unfolds...

"Chain Reaction" Quick Picks

Nelson Callum vs. Little Bill Lebowski vs. Thimbleby Langton

Frankie Future vs. Malietoa

"The Dirty White Boys" © vs. "The Ring Generals" w/ Nicole Kiss & Bryan Holmes

Madman Boone vs. KILLER Colossus

Teddy Powell & The Grand Kanishoki vs. Harry Allen & Mr. Morgan

Bryan Holmes © vs. ???????

Diary Note: I've officially surpassed the amount of posts (445) that my previous X-WA had.
