As Saturday comes around TCW prepares to end the wrestling week the same way we started it; by delivering the very best competition available to our fans, whether they be live at the Colisee de Kahnawake or watching the Saturday Night Showcase broadcast.

Painful Procedure will take on the School of Tradition as seasoned pairing Harry Allen and Steve Gumble go up against two of Eric Tyler's younger students, Freddy Huggins and Frankie Dee. There's no way this contest can be considered a cakewalk for either side.

Tag team action continues after that opening contest, as Eternal Party find themselves up against the New Wave. On one side you have the International Champion and the man who just yesterday took Troy Tornado to the limit; on the other, a legend among tag teams who seem resurgent, racking up a commanding record in the last few weeks.

A surefire firecracker of a brawl is set to follow, as "the Enforcer" Jack Marlowe is on a collision course with Texas Pete. Could Marlowe have his sights on a title shot for himself, or has the Enforcer other motives?

Tag teams with a lengthy pedigree come together this Saturday, too, as the Conquering Kings look to unseat the Elite Express in the Express' back yard. It's going to be a tough challenge - but if they can do it, that'll make it all the sweeter.

Marc Speed has been working hard these past few months, but there are those who say that while his endorsement by the Machines brought him into TCW and gave him a welcome platform to display his skills early on, their long-running rivalry with the Easy Riders has bogged his career down somewhat. Tonight he'll be hoping to change that - Matthew Keith is his opponent, and with Keith's form of late, beating him would mark Speed out as one to watch in the very near future.

The final contest of the night is a huge six-man tag. On one side you have arguably the School of Tradition's finest; Eric Tyler and the British Lions. On the other, World Heavyweight Champion Johnny Bloodstone teams with living legend Sam Keith and national treasure Sean Deeley. Will the star power swing it, or will the Lions' innate teamwork carry the night? Laura Huggins has once again abstained from representing either side.

Prediction Key:

Young Guns vs. Frankie Dee & Freddy Huggins w/ Laura Huggins

Eternal Party vs. New Wave

Jack Marlowe vs. Texas Pete (non-title)

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Elite Express

Marc Speed vs. Matthew Keith

Eric Tyler & the British Lions vs. Johnny Bloodstone, Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell

Young Guns vs. Frankie Dee & Freddy Huggins w/ Laura Huggins

Named team over random pairing

Eternal Party vs. New Wave

Could go either way but I give this one to New Wave thanks to their greater tag team experience

Jack Marlowe vs. Texas Pete (non-title)

Seems like a coin flip but Marlowe is the one who is pushed right now so I go with him.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Elite Express

Express is higher on the ladders.

Marc Speed vs. Matthew Keith

Matthew have had a lot of matches with your top guys (and even got some wins from those) while Speed hasn´t.

Eric Tyler & the British Lions vs. Johnny Bloodstone, Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell

I could see Matthew costing this one to his dad and Bloodstone but overall there is more star quality on the face side.

Once again, agree with Zergon's picks and his reasonings.

Hope I'm wrong, but Painful Procedure is getting somewhat pushed right now, and the School is a bit of an afterthought.

Eternal Party vs. New Wave

EP have singles careers -- and in one case, a second tag team -- to fall back on. The New Wave have their comeback story and their team, and that's it.

Jack Marlowe vs. Texas Pete (non-title) - no contest

Between everything that's gone on with Jack lately, there's no way he gets to the end of this match untouched.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Elite Express

Weird to have this match so late. But the Canadian Jacket Men go over because it's Canada.

Marc Speed vs. Matthew Keith

He won't even need the mist.

Eric Tyler & the British Lions vs. Johnny Bloodstone, Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell

Serious mat wrestling contest here. Tyler and the Lions are basically gatekeepers in their respective divisions. Maybe the Lions won't always be, but until we see otherwise, I'm not picking against them.

The Young Guns vs. Frankie Dee & Freddy Huggins w/ Laura Huggins

Well, up in Canada neither side has quite the traction they do in America – but they do still have all the determination they need to start turning that around. Dee & Huggins have something else to prove, too – that they can coexist, and that they can pick up a victory.

Individually, it does look like they can do it; Frankie's MMA-style game is something the Guns have little experience with, though Steve Gumble's savate background gives him a few breaks early on. Huggins, meanwhile, has evidently learned a few things during his time in the School, as his mat game is starting to be a more pronounced aspect of his overall strategy, tying Allen up on the mat.

Where they fall down is in teamwork, as the Guns have that innate understanding that stands them in good stead here; the quick tags, double-teams, and inventive exchanges start to turn things around, putting the School of Tradition duo on the back foot.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ZimmyBumfhole_alt1.jpg

And then Zimmy Bumfhole arrives, targeting Steve Gumble on the outside – but emerging from the crowd is a woman in full rock-band gear, who cuts Zimmy off with a baseball bat shot.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AmberAllenALT2.jpg

It takes a few moments before the announce team recognise Amber Allen in her new getup. Inside the ring, Gumble rejoins his partner and the two lay out Frankie Dee with the Blitzkrieg Bop to secure the win.

Zimmy still looks ready for more, but Balls to the Wall begins to play and heralds the arrival of the rest of Painful Procedure. With the group in the ring, Troy collects the microphone.

“Let's keep this one short and sweet, huh?” he offers, then underhands the mic to Harry Allen, who snatches it out of the air.

“I guess when I dropped Cherry with the Gunslinger's Revenge I made this personal first,” he begins. “So I ain't gonna go with that old number... but the song we want probably comes from the same 45. Damn near the same old story, but Darkwave, you coulda kept this to the people involved. Whatever reason, you decided that wasn't enough.

“You went after my family.”

He half-smiles. “Yeah, I know what people are thinkin'. If these two are related, there's no way Azaria wouldn't say something about it. You'd be right, too, 'cept for one thing.

“My cousin is a great wrestler, and sure, when news came out TCW was bringing in women, I definitely went to see if I could get her an invite. I got her tapes to Midden, and she got hired – because she's good enough for TCW.

“And whaddaya know, I say that and I can actually see people, right there in the front row, thinkin' 'yeah, right'. Thinkin' I put some pressure on or some ****, an' that's why Amber's here.

“An' you know somethin'? That right there is why I asked Azaria not to mention it. Y'know, Amber wanted to use her real name – and why the hell not, the Allens have every right t'be proud of our name – but that meant, she wants to keep clear of all those accusations, she had to hide who she was, 'cept for the wrestling.

“This **** just ain't right, an' I think you guys in the crowd know that.”

He passes the mic across to Amber, who remains all business. With a final flourish, she inverts the baseball bat, planting the tip on the mat. “You brought me into this, Cherry,” she says. “I want you to remember that, when I get my hands on you.”

Eternal Party vs. the New Wave

It's fast and it's slick; the four men involved here are all excellent athletes and excellent wrestlers, and what they produce together keeps the crowd interested, stepping the pace up a little after the opening contest.

With the crowd behind them, the New Wave still seem like underdogs – but eager underdogs, and before too long they're showing exactly what they can do – double-teaming Champagne Lover and doing well against the International Champion, though after a while Edd turns the tide as Guide discovers that YOU CAN'T POWERBOMB EDD STONE!

With that as the turning point, Edd takes it to both men, whipping Guide to the ropes and baiting him in to hit a Guided Missile – which Edd hurdles, sending Scout crashing to the outside. He stops to celebrate with the crowd, and Guide hits a backdrop suplex in the window of opportunity, but Edd rolls to the outside – and in comes Champagne Lover to balance things out, hitting Guide fast before the former DaVE man cuts him off with a boot.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CanadianElemental.jpg

Meanwhile the crowd are roaring in reaction, as Canadian Elemental runs along the guardrail to nail Edd with a dropkick on the outside. The two men start brawling, backflipping and putting on one heck of an acrobatic contest outside the ring.

And that leaves Champagne Lover on his own on the inside, up against a duo who've often been called THE GREATEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD. Guide tags out to a rejuvenated Scout and the pair tear Lover apart, with Scout shortly able to roll him up for the pin.

The finish is the subject of some debate; Fry is insistent that he saw Scout hook the tights, but no matter how the announce team appeal to the production truck to get a view that can confirm it, none is forthcoming.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TommyCornell_alt1jt.jpg

Breakin' the Law begins to play, and Tommy Cornell reappears a week after the beatdown at the hands of Generation Omega. The reaction is every bit as strong as the company owner is slowly coming to expect, and his smile seems genuine.

“You know,” he says. “I have this weird prediction, right now. See, I'm gonna do the sort of thing I always used to... but I kind of expect you guys to be OK with it. Johnny, in the production truck, hit the tape, alright?”

The big screen blinks into life at the prompt.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MayhemMidden.jpg

Midden's grin is wide, now, malicious, a grin seen often in the SWF while Midden was a hated rulebreaker. “And the things you do to earn those financial rewards.

I can book you in a match, Phil. And if your boy Joey can't pull out the win tonight, I will.”

Cornell lets the implication sink in for even the slowest fan in the arena, milking the reaction, smiling broadly.

“Yeah, how about that?” he offers. “Usually I'd say it was obvious what he was after, but you know what, Joey didn't pull out the win... and the idea of getting my hands on Phil Vibert in a match, where he can't just run away, well, that's got to be worth it.

“Hope you've trained up for this, Phil.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/WolfHawkins.jpg

He starts gently limbering up, watching the entrance ramp, and the crowd roar with disapproval as Wolf Hawkins vaults the guardrail; Cornell reacts to the sound, turning and catching Wolf just as he slides under the ropes, and the Champion stops his charge for a moment, instead striding up to go nose to nose with Cornell, holding his title aloft, in his former mentor's face.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

Phil Vibert follows just behind him. “You know damn well that that isn't how Midden meant the stipulation,” Vibert begins. “And frankly, I don't see any reason to give in to you twisting the rules. Midden's been basing his whole argument on having the moral high ground. Now you want to weasel your way into a pointless match?”

Cornell hasn't taken his eyes from his protege during Vibert's speech, and he still doesn't as he raises his microphone to his lips.

“Thought you might be enough of a bitch to try that,” he says. “Wolf, you want to think about what he just said. And you want to think about the stipulation. Hey, Johnny, the second clip – play it.”

The action continues, overlapping with the previous clip. Midden lays down the law. “And if your boy Joey can't pull out the win tonight, I will, just like if Sean can't pull out the win, then you boys are coming back.”

Cornell smirks. “We've taken your inside man out. If it means I get my hands on you, I'm gonna be more than happy to let Generation Omega get back to working their trade – but this time they'll have to play fair.”

Wolf looks, for a moment, toward Vibert, who seems abruptly worried, then nods slightly.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Remo.jpg

The crowd promptly go berserk – which could have something to do with Remo Richardson, who's vaulted the guardrail behind Cornell, dived into the ring, and who now swings the company owner around, dropping him with a single punch.

Hawkins smirks, then walks across to Vibert to converse in low tones. Meanwhile, Cornell and Remo battle it out, with the Generation Omega man clearly leading on strength.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickyDaleJohnson.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TexasHangman.jpg

Ricky Dale Johnson and Texas Pete appear at the ramp and run down to join Cornell, much to the crowd's approval, and Hawkins goes to join in, facing off with RDJ while Remo gets a short-arm clothesline on Cornell. Pete goes for a shoulderblock, actually driving Remo back five or six steps before he rebounds, and the two trade blows for a long moment as Vibert bails from the ring.

Remo and Hawkins find themselves hard-pressed, but as they retreat Cornell and RDJ, showing their veteran instincts, stop and regroup, the big Texan checking on the company owner, while Pete instead hits the ropes and then comes flying out at Hawkins between second and top rope – unfortunately for him, Remo intercepts him, catching him out of the air and delivering a huge slam onto the ground.

Generation Omega have to retreat, however, nonetheless – RDJ is unwilling to accept this, and now he follows Pete out.

Cornell wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and rescues his microphone.

“OK, Phil, I get your message,” he says. “We'll settle this at Summer Showdown, but how about we make it conclusive? Your side gets DuBois, Minnesota, and probably Remo. On my side, Sean McFly is going to have some backup, some good men who understand the right way to do things in this business.”

He pauses. “You're not the only prodigy out there, sonny Jim,” he continues. “I know Pete's going to be busy defending his title. So this is how I see it... Ricky here is going to be the referee, and he's going to make damn sure there's a clear winner. And Sean is going to have two of the best young wrestlers in the sport to back him up.” A grin. “I know just the pair...” and his face abruptly falls. “Provided I can get them to agree.”

“What did he mean by that?” Fry wonders. Saunders laughs. “It's not like Tommy Cornell hasn't had his problems with... actually, with most of TCW.”

Jack Marlowe vs. Texas Pete

Pete is still recovering from the impact of Remo's slam as the bell rings, but with Marlowe charging in, the Hard-Hitting Champion finds the reserves to block, punch, whip Marlowe to the corner and lay in the chops. He backs off and looks for an avalanche, only for the Enforcer to move, nailing him with a pump kick followed with a butterfly suplex.

Pete kicks out emphatically and tosses Marlowe from the ring, looking once again for his through-the-ropes tope suicida. He nails it, much to the crowd's approval, and on hearing that cheer he goes back for another.

If anything, this one is even faster, even more thunderous – but this time, Marlowe moves clear. The mercenary uses this as an opportunity to take over and he works over Pete's injured ribs, showing a different strategy to his usual approach, taking a new tack as he gains the upper hand.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/LobsterWarrior_PS.jpg

The crowd are starting to get thoroughly sucked in when Chris Rockwell hits the ring. Jack Marlowe takes a shot to the head with a hockey stick, and Rockwell immediately wheels, driving the stick into Pete's guts, then into his suddenly exposed jaw. Another three shots follow before Marlowe drops properly.

Ray Johnson calls the inevitable double-DQ.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. Elite Express

These two teams have become seasoned and experienced adversaries over time, and the result, while never exceptional, is always enjoyable.

What takes place over the next fourteen minutes could be described as a greatest hits compilation of moments from their matches, with both teams scoring multiple near-falls and the Kings almost forcing a submission.

An attempt at the Crippler Bomb is well scouted, however, with Bobby rolling down the back of Barry Kingman and nearly getting a pinfall, then transitioning into a submission hold – though Kingman twists to get his foot on the ropes and break the hold.

What eventually clinches this one is a flying crucifix pin by Nate Johnson just after he tags back in blind, with the Kings looking, once again, for the Crippler Bomb. Thomas prevents Kingman from breaking up the tag by converting into a spin-out inverted DDT.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/LobsterWarrior_PS.jpg

Chris Rockwell is sat backstage, in one of the corridors, perched on a now-mostly-empty buffet table, head tilted back against the wall, eyes shut. After something like twenty silent, still moments, he says “Stupid,” in a tone that suggests he's been saying this for some time, and his head rolls forward then jerks back into the wall with an audible impact. Another twenty seconds go by.

“Stupid.” Another impact.

“Jesus, man,” Rocky Golden's voice says, “Stop that, man, you're gonna shake something loose in there.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RockyGolden_PS2.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickLaw.jpg

Rockwell's eyes open, but he doesn't answer for a long moment as the camera pulls back to reveal both members of Golden Law, standing there uncomfortably, looking awkward as they watch their friend.

“Think maybe I already did,” Rockwell says at last. There's another beat before Law speaks up.

“Maybe so. Where's the hockey stick, Chris?”

“Got rid of the evidence,” Rockwell replies.

“Apart from the TV footage and the arena full of fans,” Golden sighs. “Damn, Chris...”

“Well, yeah.” He shrugs, slightly, which is awkward from his current position, but he doesn't move. “He got to me, Rock. Both of them did.”

“The Chris Rockwell I watched when I was deciding to be a wrestler,” Law says, slowly, “nothing got to him. Nothing and no one. He knew how good he was... and the only thing he needed to know about someone for sure was whether or not they had what it takes. That was all that mattered.”

Rockwell nods.

“You've gotta get that guy back, Chris,” Law continues. “And... I think I might know how.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CharlieThatcher_nac2.jpg

“How nice fer you,” comes another voice, and Charlie Thatcher steps into the scene. His baseball bat is slung under his arm, not carried at the ready on his shoulders. “You boys mind me interruptin'?”

Rockwell finally looks at one of the arrivals. “You haven't wrestled in months,” he says. “You want to act like you're one of us, Charlie, well feel free – but I don't think we're buying it. You're here to give out the punishment detail – you mind just doing that bit?”

“Yer mom.” Thatcher's common reply is almost reflexive, but his expression shows signs of legitimate irritation. Law and Golden exchange glances; there's absolutely no need for Rockwell to be taking this tone.

Thatcher continues nonetheless. “Seems to Mr Midden that your problem, at the moment, is with Pete and with the Keith kid. He's decided to give you a shot at sorting that problem; Summer Showdown, there's gonna be a No Holds Barred triple-threat for the Hard-Hitting Championship.

“Course, your problem turns out to be with someone else, you can let me know and I'll tell Mr Midden what you're after. He'll decide what to do with you according to how pushy you're gonna be.”

“OK,” Rockwell nods, after a long moment. He almost seems to struggle with the next word before he gets it out. “Thanks.”

Thatcher nods. “Wasn't so hard, was it?” he chides, but there's a smile. After a beat, he speaks. “Hey, you mind if I say something like I was one of you?”

Rockwell shrugs, and Thatcher continues. “Ten years ago I seem to remember you kicking my ass more'n once,” he says. “One of 'em just after you'd come back from breakin' your collarbone.

“Those matches are still on my record. I'd appreciate it if people remembered how tough an ******* you can be – my rep does half my job these days, an' you turning into someone who goes down easier'n Rocky here's mom isn't helping.”

Marc Speed vs. Matthew Keith

The two young technicians stay at opposite sides of the ring as Eugene Williams checks them over – very thoroughly, in the case of Matthew Keith, in case he has concealed weapons or capsules for the Mist.

Springsteen picks up on that at once: “These guys are still used to the idea of tag teaming. The close-up kick off, if the other guy doesn't initiate it... it won't come from them.”

The bell rings and they circle, drawing gradually closer to each other. After a short moment, Keith darts in, going low and looking for the lockup; Speed instinctively backs away, refusing to cede the opening advantage. They circle again, with both men checking, and close – and this time Keith backs off, seeing how this contest is about to go, also not willing to concede the advantage.

Another circle and Speed steps in, clearly and deliberately making himself a better target – and Matt takes the bait, only to be caught with a volley of chops as he enters strike range. Speed goes to whip him into the corner, but Matt reverses, sending Speed into the turnbuckles – chest-first, like a Stone.

Keith promptly looks for a schoolboy, but Speed twists with energy, rolling out of the pin and keeping hold of Matt's arm, driving a knee into the shoulder. He looks for a grounded armbar, but Keith rolls through and to his feet, going for a hip toss – and Speed takes advantage, transitioning to a single-arm DDT.

“Who's got the upper hand, in your opinion?” Saunders asks Fry.

“Wayyyy too early to tell,” is the response. “But stay tuned, fans, because this is going to be a barn-stormer, I can feel it.”

Keith gets to a sitting position as Speed applies the armbar, the canny Machine slipping one leg over Matt's shoulder in a kneeling position to make the hold more certain. Matthew reaches up, an unconscious echo of Speed's match with Remo, but unlike Generation Omega's supreme specimen, he doesn't have the strength to snapmare Marc out of the hold.

Instead he shifts position again – and before he can do anything about that, Speed drives his elbow into Keith's exposed shoulder once, twice, three times, then strengthens the hold, putting even more emphasis onto it. Matt goes for a glory play, forcing himself up onto his feet while his shoulder is still anchored so low down, turning into the armbar, and in one fluid if desperate motion he rises to his feet, grabbing Marc's far underarm with his free hand for leverage, and he takes the Machine down with a massive, if improvised, overhead suplex.

The hold is broken. Keith rolls to the outside, checking on his shoulder, massaging the flesh as Williams begins the count. Speed, meanwhile, having regained his feet, goes through what's obviously a carefully-designed routine of small stretches and flexes, making sure that neck, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hips, knees and ankles are still all functioning at peak condition – making his own use of Keith's ten count, as Springsteen points out, with none of the risk of elimination.

Matthew rolls back in at the count of seven. They halt with half the mat's length between them, and there is a brief staredown; Speed affords his opponent a respectful nod, but pays him an even greater respect; he doesn't take his eyes from him.

Matthew Keith, by contrast, just smiles, mouth a firm, fine line. He looks... satisfied, somehow? Content?

The two slowly close again, and as Speed goes for a lock-up Keith instead shifts angle and gets a monkey flip, floating back over Speed's prone form and underhooking his arms, applying something very like a seated front full nelson hold. He leans back, torquing it as hard as he can, and Speed is in there for a long, long moment.

A close-up shows that Speed's left arm has a little more freedom to move, prompting the announce team to suggest that the work Speed has done on Matt's shoulder is already taking a minor toll.

In the end, Speed manages to get one leg up high enough to loop it over Keith's head, applying a headscissors to pull Keith off and break the hold. Matthew immediately pops himself clear of the hold, bouncing back to his feet and spinning around in the exact same moment. He delivers a stiff kick across Speed's chest to put the man back down, and drops for an immediate cover, hooking the leg somewhat savagely.

One, tw- no! Speed kicks out, breaking away from Keith as he makes it back to his feet. Matt comes in again – lockup – Speed counters to a go-behind – German suplex attempt – Matt hooks his leg under Speed's – counter to a go-behind and into a full nelson – full nelson suplex! As Speed crashes neck-first to the mat, the crowd moan in obvious sympathy.

Matthew looks to capitalise immediately. He goes for the Proton Lock, but before he can get it completely cinched in, Speed cuts his motion off by driving a knee into his temple, then rolls across, looking for the Crossface Armbreaker. Keith counters that, too, twisting free and whipping Speed – as he gets to his feet – into the corner, allowing him to unleash his own volley of chops.

After a long moment of that, Keith climbs to the second rope, looking around the audience for a moment before raining a series of punches down into Speed's forehead.

He gets through about six of these before Speed finds a good counter; wrapping both his arms around one of Keith's legs, he steps forward fast, driving a shoulder into Matt's midsection and turning as he steps forward. Matt is ripped from the turnbuckle and comes crashing to the mat.

Speed has a perfect set up for the Deadly Heel Hook, but he does the sensible thing – he steps forward again, looking for the Crossface Armbreaker. He has it locked in – but Matt shows his ring awareness, snaking one leg out to hook the ropes. Eugene Williams moves in to break the hold; Speed, looking up to see the foot on the ropes, nods agreement with the ruling and breaks the hold, backing off.

There's a commotion from the crowd nearest to the entrance ramp after that; the Easy Riders have appeared and are making their way down to the ring.

Speed turns to look and Matthew Keith moves, striking with a big lariat using his uninjured arm, followed by a pair of forearm shivers.

The Riders are still on the move, but to a very positive response the Machines follow them out. The two seasoned teams brawl furiously on the ramp, both teams throwing punches, chops, and kicks, while action continues in the ring.

Abruptly, as the two men stand locked in a collar-and-elbow tie up, Marc Speed seems to stumble. Matthew immediately steps into the Neutron Plex, then applies the Proton Lock. This time, Speed has no counter, and at length he's forced to tap.

Keith leaves quickly, and Speed slowly picks himself back up, with the cameras now showing Speed's face covered with a green ink, his eyes tightly closed, face screwed up as if in pain. Williams has to escort the Asian Mist's victim to the back, but the crowd support is obvious in the arena.

To be a Machine, you have to be capable of having standout matches. It seems Marc Speed does, indeed, qualify.

Giant Tana is walking backstage, holding a paper cup of coffee, alongside Rhino Umaga. The pair seem to be deep in conversation.

“...coming along, they tell me,” Tana says. “You should think about it.”

Umaga snorts. “Tag teams are kinda cramped round here. About the only way I'm gonna do worse than I have been is stick my head in that div-”

“You really, really need to lighten up, Rav,” Tana smiles. “Seriously? The guy who headbutted Khoklov in the kneecap to try and get an advantage is worried about a tag division cramping his style?”

They've stopped walking now, halted outside a locker room door as Tana makes his point. “Rav, you can do fine in tags with that kind of determination, so long as your partner can keep their head above water. I'm not sure he can yet, but your brother is definitely getting there.

“All I'm saying is give it some thought.”

With that, Tana pushes open the door to his locker room. The two move to go in, but stop short in the doorway. The camera moves, positioning itself over Tana's shoulder, though the cameraman's obviously having issues focusing while standing on tiptoe. Nevertheless...

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CanadianElemental.jpg

There's a figure tied to Tana's comfortable armchair. That figure sports the mask of Canadian Elemental... and the ring shorts of Edd Stone.

After a long moment, Tana starts laughing, but Rhino Umaga slips in past him and heads for the chair.

“Leave him, Rav,” Tana says, as the younger Samoan begins undoing the ropes keeping this figure in place. “Edd's so damn determined to make this trap work he's trapped himself.”

“You think so?”

“I'm sure.”

“Cool. Then you're not gonna mind if I ask you something.” Umaga looks up at Tana. “If this really is Edd Stone,” he says, pulling the last rope away, “how the hell did he tie himself up?”

Tana takes a moment to register what that means – and the man in the Elemental mask turns on Umaga for it, laying him out with the Lover Stunner. Tana rushes in, going to his cousin's aid – and that's when Edd Stone, wearing Canadian Elemental's ring shorts for no easily explicable reason, drops from the ceiling to catch Tana off guard with a Party's Over onto concrete.

Eric Tyler & the British Lions

Johnny Bloodstone, Sam Keith & Sean Deeley w/ Blonde Bombshell

All six men in this match very clearly know what they're doing in the wrestling ring, and the contest is excellently executed throughout. The Lions seem determined when it comes to Deeley and Bloodstone, but almost reverent with Keith; they've both faced him before, but nonetheless, as Fry says, “It's like they finally have a chance to test him in their own arena – tag wrestling.”

The tags come fast and furious, with the Lions taking the brunt of Bombshell's team's offence early on. Eric Tyler, meanwhile, removes the covering on the top turnbuckle of his home corner, and doesn't call to be tagged in until the Lions have had a chance to soften up Deeley.

Deeley and Tyler go at it for a little while and, after a quick thumb to the eye, Tyler has Deeley hoisted in the double-chickenwing submission known as the Tradition Lift, facing his own corner. He holds it for a few seconds, but it seems like Sean isn't willing to submit – so he releases the hold, dropping the young man chest-first across the exposed steel of the turnbuckle.

He immediately looks for the Weight of Tradition brainbuster, but Sean twists himself in the air, dropping clear and diving for the tag.

In comes Bloodstone with a passion, and he and Keith look to isolate Eric Tyler, working him over in turn. A NeutronPlex later, and Keith tags out – to Sean Deeley again.

Deeley gets his chance to get vengeance for Tyler's dirty trick for a period, but ultimately once again Tyler finds a way to break free from within his veteran's bag of tricks. He looks to tag out, but Sean cuts him off with a chop block before diving the length of the ring... and in comes Bloodstone again. He takes one look at the British Lions, then applies the Bloodstone Mutilation on Tyler.

The Lions, for their part, simply watch, and ultimately, Tyler is forced to tap.

I just recently read through this whole diary. Quite the task :)

I very much enjoy your overall storylines, and I like that you're not afraid to use the time limit draw. I do think you overuse run-ins and interference, but I have a pretty low threshold for such things in my wrestling, so maybe that's just me.

Looking forward to reading more and seeing how the Gen Omega story plays out. It'll be quite the balancing act between keeping that going and keeping the belts a big deal.

Glad you enjoyed!

And yeah, I do tend to be fairly heavy on the interference for various reasons. I think it's partly the stables...

On the other hand, if you made it this far I guess enough other things seem to be working for you.

As for Generation Omega... yeah, that stable has length to run yet. Their current program? Well, six great wrestlers are not that active in-ring at the moment, so that does need addressing, but we've been doing OK so far.

I'm excited for what's coming in the near-to-mid future. Hopefully that'll translate across.

Thursday July 11th 2009

This is the day of the year that TCW actually pays attention to our biggest competition... well, it's the day that I do, now that my sons aren't working there.

This is the day of the year when the Supreme Challenge is – deservedly – the biggest news in wrestling. Thursday has long been the day where I catch up on all the wrestling I have outstanding to watch, but this one week a year I make room to do that on Wednesday – because I know I'm going to be glued to the biggest PPV in wrestling.

Well... possibly only by reputation now. I wasn't impressed, and the attendance is massively down on last year – the official attendance was around 12,000. Real attendance figures are likely to sneak out sometime over the next week.

[Editorial update: Supreme Challenge 28 turned out to have sold 11,116 tickets. The PPV buyrate was 3.76.]

I don't want to get sued, and I even more don't want to make statements about what's going on where I don't know, so I'll stick with the stuff that I think I can fairly say.

I like that the Samoan Wildboyz are getting pushes, even if it's individuals. I think the Enygma/Brandon James match was pretty good, but it needed to be a little longer to really get the most out of it – and when you have Emma Chase ringside, on your big PPV, you should use her for more than just eye candy. The woman lives and breathes wrestling; she can help.

Runaway Train and Eric Eisen have been a surprisingly fun babyface duo. I like their “SWF Style” promos, and they were the main reason the semi-main was watchable. But what the hell are the Pain Alliance doing in the semi-main of any PPV that isn't designed to be throwaway?

Genghis Rahn... the fuss about him leaving early last year has just about died down in the TCW backstage, and I have to hand Peter Michaels some credit here; his role as the latest challenger to Vengeance' streak was the smart thing to do, and the second-best match on the card. The build probably sold more PPVs than any other angle on the card; this is good, but there are warning bells there, too.

Christian Faith didn't even wrestle. Coming off his once-in-a-career heel turn of about eight months ago, Faith is almost as hot now as he was at his peak six years ago, and instead of guaranteeing a classic main event by putting him up against champ Rich Money, they went with Squeeky McClean. To Squeeky's credit, he rose to the occasion and has probably cemented himself as a main event player – but not having Faith on the card feels like a mistake.

Sunday July 14th 2009

This is another of those semi-regular entries where I try to remember things the morning after, on the plane. Last night was a little too busy to write down at the time.

Shortly after we started booking Canadian venues around the start of the year, the Colisee de Kahnawake contacted us and mentioned this date. (I'm told – I didn't know about this til a couple of weeks ago.)

It turns out that the Colisee has been for some time been building a second indoor sports/entertainment arena as part of its complex. The Colisee B was due to open early last month, but they were confident that even with potential construction overrun, it would be ready by last night – and it was.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ArtReed.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/One-Offs/OwenLove_alt2.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BobbyThomas_jhd.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpg

The House Of Stone: Out of twelve students, these four and two others went on to become major stars in wrestling. Art Reed, Owen Love, trainer and mentor Jeremy Stone, Bobby Thomas and Johnny Bloodstone - champions all

The arena staff wanted to make a big splash and pull in a record total attendance – so last night, TCW Saturday Night Showcase was filmed in Colisee B, while Colisee A played host to North of the Border's Midsummer Madness PPV.

Wrestlers being wrestlers, I probably don't need to say that we crashed their afterparty. Wrestlers being wrestlers, I probably don't need to say we were welcomed.

TCW and NOTBPW have no official agreement. And with some of the signings we've made lately, they have no good reason to like us – but despite that, we were welcomed.

I heard Dan Sr tell Marc Speed that, if when he watched our show the match lived up to what everyone was saying it had been, then he'd have a spot in NOTBPW if we ever cut him. That's what I heard – I'm more than confident that this wasn't the only offer made of that kind. And I guess, to Dan, that was worth the risk we might put the moves on any of their current guys.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TamaraMcFly.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddStone_alt6.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeriLynnStone.jpg

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY: Wrestling's first family reunited... with one interloper.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Dan Sr will enjoy the match. In the Stones' back yard, we very deliberately put on a show that was as close to what they do as possible in style, just with TCW's storylines mixed in.

The real joy of the night was two photographs I got, and I'm having multiple prints made; I plan on putting them in here, but I want to make sure I have some for myself...

(Oh, and for my money, Dan Jr's title defence was better than Rich Money's, and that's no huge praise for Dan's opponent, Dean McWade.)

There's still one missing in that 'first family' picture. What's Uncle Duane up to these days? He'd be a fun addition to the roster, heck, throw him in as Black Cobra with the Far Eastern contingent.

There certainly is one missing, but sadly, Duane's in Burning Hammer at the moment, and thus I couldn't justify him being at the PPV.

(And I do mean sadly - imagine what a reunited Flying Stones could do for me...)

Last week's blistering episode of Total Wrestling opened with the Eternal Party in tag team action, and that went down so well that the same thing looks likely to happen this week - but this match will also echo elements of Saturday Night Showcase, as the two Samoans that Eternal Party assaulted will join forces to challenge the International Champion and his partner. Can Giant Tana and Rhino Umaga pull off the victory and get vengeance?

Danny Fonzarelli returns to TCW screens with Darkwave's Zimmy in his sights. Can RDJ's running mate score a winning return?

Mayhem Midden has green-lit a tag team contest between the Fly Boys and the New Wave. With both teams returning to winning ways lately, this one looks to be interesting. This columnist's money is on Jack Marlowe making an appearance, personally...

Womens competition follows, as Amber Allen has a match scheduled against the School of Tradition's Jaime Quine. Will the newly-revealed rock starlet win out, or will Eric Tyler's handpicked female representative make her mark?

Expect nothing but pace from the following contest, as Canadian Elemental will go head to head with Darkwave's Sammy Bach in what's guaranteed to be a fast-moving spectacle. Bach has always been a dangerous opponent, but Elemental's game has been improving rapidly. Can he live up to the mask's legend?

And what a tag team contest for the semi-main event... the British Lions look to defeat Golden Law in a match that's sure to have implications for the division as a whole. Will Law and Golden's power carry them through the technical wizardry of the Lions?

Lastly, a match added by request of one of the participants - Troy Tornado has asked for a match with Jeremy Stone, and that's set to be the main event. It's sure to be an amazing contest...

Prediction Key:

Eternal Party vs. Giant Tana & Rhino Umaga

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

No, don't make me choose!

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

Because Danny Jobberelli isn't fun any more.

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

Marlowe makes the difference, but the Boys can't capitalise.

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

Simple enough, keep her momentum up.

Canadian Elemental vs. Sammy Bach

Procedure-ference!

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Golden Law

Because Rocky Golden can always lose.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

JEZZA!

Eternal Party vs. Giant Tana & Rhino Umaga

Eternal Party is actually more experienced team here

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

It´s long time since we last saw Fonzarelli so nice to see him again. That said Zimmy has more going on right now so he takes the win.

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

Surely New Wave is still above Fly boys

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

This looks like a coin flip to me, lets say that some Darkwave member makes interference here.

Canadian Elemental vs. Sammy Bach

Bach seems to be more important on my mind.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Golden Law

Lions work better as a team so I give them this one.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

Hard to say here. For some reason I think Jeremy should win but I can´t really give any reasoning why.

Eternal Party are a real team.

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

When was the last time Danny was on a Prediction Key?

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

But it won't be clean.

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

When in doubt, call for a draw.

Canadian Elemental vs. Sammy Bach

I don't think Elemental is quite on Bach's level.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Golden Law

Just because I don't want to call for two draws on one show...

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

Jeremy's more important.

Maybe it's a feud, though!

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

Fonz is... a lower-midcard gatekeeper?

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

This feels like the show where Marlowe tries to interfere and someone stops him.

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

I just like her better, is all.

Canadian Elemental vs. Sammy Bach

There could be some stuff happening, but if not, Bach is the guy.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Golden Law

I miss Rick Law.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

I know Tornado had that belt, but I don't think of him as a real main eventer. Not the way Jeremy is.

Eternal Party vs. Giant Tana & Rhino Umaga

The general consensus, during the entrances, is that Eternal Party have the upper hand; that said, when the two teams line up opposite one another, the sheer size difference makes the Samoans look less like they're in danger.

Umaga starts with Lover, and the power game shows an early level of success, and when Lover does start to fight back, he makes the mistake of going for the Lover Stunner, and Umaga's hard Samoan head withstands it.

When Edd comes in, however, the International champ's off-beat tactics do start to unravel the young Samoan's game, and only a desperation tag keeps his team in play.

Tana has a much better measure of Edd's style, it rapidly becomes apparent, and the young Stone is left looking for one or another new approach, at one point applying a three-quarter facelock and running up the ropes for an Osaka Street Cutter – except that Tana simply reaches up, trapping Edd over his shoulder until the champ improvises, applying a sleeper hold.

The contest gets hectic from there on in, but in the end, Edd reminds Umaga that YOU CAN'T POWERBOMB EDD STONE, and in doing so picks up the win with a Party's Over.

Tommy Cornell walks backstage, looking a little anxious. He stops outside one of the locker room doors, and runs his hand over his face, summoning up his composure.

“Good luck,” the cameraman offers. Cornell looks up, startled, and reflexively smirks. “Yeah, right. Thanks.”

He raps on the door, rubbing his hands. “How hard can it be to find two guys willing to beat the **** outta wankers?” he asks himself rhetorically.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AaronAndrews-1.jpg

The door opens, and Aaron Andrews appears. His expression, on seeing Cornell, is a little guarded.

“Know why I'm here?”

Andrews' expression shifts; a crooked smile. “Yeah,” he says.

“Flattered?”

And the shutters come back down. “A little, sure.”

“Don't be. You took me apart, you want Minnesota in the ring, and you stick to your principles. That's talent, motivation, and guarantee right there.

“I can't name five guys in this company I can say all that about. But there's something else.”

Andrews says nothing, stoney-faced.

“...Christ, you beat me,” Cornell continues. “I want to make Wolf feel like the sad little arsehole he is, and you doing it is just gonna rub his nose in the fact he still isn't getting near me.”

Aaron says nothing.

“Well? How about it?”

“Boss... you mind if I say something?”

“Go for it.”

“I kinda wanted to get Joey one on one this month,” Andrews offers, simply. “Now you've gone and put him in a six-man.”

“...****. Yeah, my bad,” Cornell nods. “I did it again, huh?”

“You did something... Look, you make sure I get one-on-one with Joey next month, you promise me that, and I'm on your team. It's not like I won't still get to hurt him this month.”

“Mate, you've got a deal.”

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Zimmy

Fonzarelli's return to TV after some months does not go well for him. He does his best to beat down the Darkwave man, but the crowd aren't behind him, no matter what he does, and Zimmy's attempts to bring the heat are also met with only lukewarm response.

A Blood Rush ends this one in Zimmy's favour.

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. New Wave

The Boys emerge first, with that confident swagger they've been developing in recent weeks. The Wave, meanwhile, just look focused, collected, certain.

The match slowly bears the Wave out. While the Fly Boys are no slouches – and, indeed, have been looking stronger even discounting interference from Marlowe lately – they can't quite compete with a fired-up New Wave, and their effort becomes one of almosts – Donnie almost gets three off a counter to the Special Force that leaves Scout sprawling and the crowd roaring, the duo almost get the Spanish Fly on Guide only for him to counter their momentum, sending them both crashing to the mat.

As the match continues the Boys become more and more desperate, while Goldworthy becomes more and more visibly panicked. A second Special Force attempt, this time on Jimmy P, allows Scout to get the submission – and Goldworthy goes ballistic.

The manager is throwing quite the tantrum at ringside. He grabs the timekeeper, yelling something indecipherable at the man, then grabs his bell instead, repeatedly swinging it against the ringpost to create one hell of a noise.

The Fly Boys roll out of the ring and go to their manager, with Donnie in particular looking annoyed himself. Much gesturing happens, but with no microphone nearby, the specifics of the conversation are beyond the audience/.

At length, Floyd breaks away from the duo and grabs a microphone. “Marlowe!” he calls.

He gives it a few moments, but the entranceway remains entirely empty. Perhaps it's time for another try.

“Marlowe, you useless little -” He breaks off, eyes bulging, looking around, and tries a different tack.

“Listen up, everyone in the back. Jack Marlowe may seem like a smart hire. He may seem like the man to have in your corner.

“But the man is a cheat. He'll take your money and skip off, and you're left with nothing to-”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JungleJack_alt1.jpg

Suddenly, Jack Marlowe appears at last. Goldworthy breaks off for a moment, looking almost worried, and the Fly Boys close ranks in front of him as if making ready to block a charge.

“Seems like Goldworthy's got more loyal clients now,” Azaria offers, a certain note of amusement in his voice.

Marlowe, however, stays in the entranceway. He raises a microphone to his lips.

“Stop right there,” he grates. “I never cheated you.”

“Then where the hell were you tonight?” Goldworthy flares, and Marlowe smiles.

“I was contacted this afternoon by another client,” he says. “They beat your price... for me not to help you.”

“How is that not cheating me?”

“If you checked your bank balance before the match you'd've seen I refunded the money. I'm a businessman; I'm not about to screw you out of your cash. If you'd known you had a refund, you would've known what was coming... or I guess, who wasn't coming to help you.”

“You couldn't have told us?”

“Without making some money out of it?” Marlowe smiles. “Sorry. Next time, buy insurance. I'm happy to guarantee I won't listen to later bids, if people are willing to pay.”

He shrugs, then turns around and walks off, leaving the announcers speculating as to who paid to cut off the Fly Boys' aid.

Amber Allen vs. Jaime Quine w/ Laura Huggins

This turns into quite a good contest, though the fans are simply not present for much of it – by what can be seen, many have chosen this moment to take part in a concession stand rush.

Those who remain present get quite excited by the end; Amber and Jaime know exactly how the other operates, and can maximise the effect of their moves – and both of them have plenty of time to show exactly what they can do.

Near the end, Quine goes for the K.O. Kick; Allen ducks it, popping up behind, and lands a bulldog, rolling Quine over for the pinfall.

Canadian Elemental vs. Sammy Bach

There's a definite buzz around this from the beginning. CanEl and Bach are indisputably thrilling fliers, and that's what this focuses on, from the initial competition in one-upsmanship onward.

It's hard to say which of them comes up with the more innovative moves, or for that matter the more innovative counters, but one notable moment is when CanEl backflips off the top rope and Bach has moved; the heir to the Elemental legacy twists in midair and lands on his feet... on Bach's shoulder.

Sammy promptly drops flat on his back, knees raised to catch the masked man with a gutbuster, then shoot shim off the ropes, meeting him on the way back with the corkscrew uppercut.

That leaves CanEl reeling for a moment, but Bach looks for the springboard coast-to-coast bulldog – and he meets a Pele kick coming the other way!

Out of nowhere the crowd has become more than a little interested in this match. An Elemental Suplex attempt is countered, and Bach goes for a superkick – but CanEl nails his support leg with a dropkick instead and looks for the Firebird Splash. Unfortunately, it misses.

Bach gloats for a few moments, pausing to bust out an air guitar solo. He looks for the Bach on your Back, but this time it's the Elemental's turn to counter, elbowing loose – and nailing the Daredevil Drop! One, two, three!

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Golden Law

The crowd are still buzzing after the finish to the previous match as Laura Huggins leads her duo out – a duo who have, in the past years, started to acquire as many cheers and marks of support as they still receive stigmatization from the crowd over their association with the School of Tradition.

At this stage, indeed, there are perhaps two teams in TCW as a whole who could split the crowd on the matter of the swiftly-improving Golden Law – the Kreed, and the Lions.

The battle rages on from the opening bell, with Rocky and Rick doing their best to power their way to a clear upper hand, while Walter and Merle look to ground their more powerful opponents.

Rocky pulls off one of the more impressive moments of the match – as Merle rebounds off the ropes, looking for a lariat, he catches him into a floatover powerslam, his feet being a foot and a half off the ground at the peak of the move. It takes Walter Morgan to break up the pinfall off the thunderous impact, and the Lions quickly make the tag to put Walter in the ring.

When Rocky looks to do the same again, Walter has his momentum calculated. The half-revolution in the air is closer to a full one, and Morgan has an armbar locked in as the two hit the mat. This time it's Law who has to rescue his partner.

Rick runs riot for a little while, but it seems that the Lions have a plan in store for him, too; they're concentrating on his shoulder and looking to prevent the Long Arm of the Law. When O'Curle is able to break a Squad Car Slam before it impacts, they know they're getting there – trapping him in the corner for a few, the duo lay in some kicks and chops to a shoulder twisted by the armwringer – but in the end, Law punches his way clear, diving across the ring, and in comes Rocky Golden.

A shot for Curle puts him out of the ring; a punch to Morgan staggers him, and Golden gets him up on his shoulders, looking for the Rack, but again, Morgan has the momentum, seemingly flowing up the shoulder and down the other side, riding Golden down into the Wigan Wrench. Before Law can break it up, Golden has to tap.

O'Curle and Huggins join Morgan in the ring to celebrate. Law also joins his partner in the ring; after a long moment, the two teams line up against one another, facing off.

The crowd hush, and time almost seems to freeze as these four warriors look one another over.

O'Curle steps forward first, covering half the distance between teams. He extends a hand.

A moment later, Law follows, stepping forward to meet him, shaking the offered hand. Golden steps up, too, and O'Curle receives a second warrior's salute.

Morgan smiles, receiving and giving his own mark of respect from the others in turn.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TroyTornado_nacht6.jpg

Back from commercial, and Fury of the Storm hits. Troy Tornado makes his way out to the ring, microphone at the ready. He rolls under the ropes, mounting each turnbuckle in turn, and on the fourth, staring into the hard camera, he raises the microphone to his lips.

“This seems like the time to go balls to the wall,” he says, and the music being played switches, Painful Procedure's newest release hitting the speakers.

“I know you guys ain't complaining,” he continues. “I've been following the charts this week. Maybe it's you guys hating on Darkwave. Maybe it's more fans who don't follow wrestling. But I get the impression you guys are buying, too – and we're doing better than any launch week Painful Procedure's ever had.

“That means we're doing better than any launch week Jack Bruce ever had. So thank you – because you've shown yourselves to want to rock the way I knew you did. You're proving it, and you're making us more successful than before.”

He hops down from the turnbuckle, making a circuit of the ring, allowing the fans in the arena a chance to connect with him. The grin is well and truly in place.

“OK. I'm done with the plugging – album's out the end of the month, NOW I'm done with the plugging. Serious face now, guys. Serious face.

“There's going to be a six-man tag at Summer Showdown. You know it, I know it. That six-man has a lot riding on it. Generation Omega can be *******s – I oughtta know, time was I tag-teamed alongside the World Heavyweight Champ, and back then the only dodgy crap he did was not pay his half of the gas driving from town to town, before he grew an ego – but that's not even why I want in.

“I've said it before now, hell, I've made a point of it before now – Sean McFly was one of my heroes growing up. He was young, not much older than me, and I could see myself in his place when I was daydreaming. His place – World Heavyweight Champion.

“Well I've been there now. I've stood in his place, I've walked that walk, I've proved my place, I've won and I've lost and I've sweated, bled, and – and cried for the honour and the privilege of being your champion – and on top of that, I've stood in front of you with a guitar in my hands, a mic in front of me, and I've walked that walk too.

“I am the leader of Painful Procedure, I am the man who pinned Tommy Cornell every time it mattered and plenty of times it didn't, I am the man who won the World Heavyweight Championship and invited two of the best to try to take it from me at a time...

“...and sometimes, I'm still a little kid. Sometimes, I'm that teenager watching Sean McFly in his prime. Wishing he was in his place... or wishing he could stand alongside him on the apron. Tag in to rescue him. Tag out to let him work his magic.”

Tornado grins. “I was that little kid last month, when Sean McFly got in the ring with a badass young talent called Frankie Dee and beat him after one hell of a match. I was that little kid at Excessive Force, watching Sean McFly rise beyond what he'd been when I was training, watching him put the Can't Miss Prospect away. And I was that little kid this time last week – right this time – when Sean McFly was pushing Joey Minnesota to the limit.

“It is easy to be a fan of the American Tiger. He makes it easy. And in just shy of two weeks, Sean McFly needs another partner for his match at Summer Showdown. In just shy of two weeks, I could fulfil a dream I have held since I started training. I could team with Sean McFly... on one of the biggest stages the wrestling world has to offer... against some truly worthy opponents.

“And that's why I asked for this match. Some accused me, back at the start of the year, of being so preoccupied by Jack Bruce I looked past Johnny Bloodstone, didn't recognise how good he could be.

“Well, I know now, I respect him now – and Jeremy Stone has been Bloodstone's biggest adversary over his career. I know I am the right choice to be the third man at Summer Showdown and I know, when I put Jeremy away tonight, you'll all agree.

“This is my dream. And tonight, I'm looking right at you, Jeremy – right at the man in the way. I won't look past you until I have the win.”

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

Stone dominates Tornado early, working a slow style and keeping the former champion grounded.

There's only so long he can do this for, however; Troy takes over after turning a suplex into a slick neckbreaker.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Gorgon-1.jpg

He gets distracted not long after, though, as Gorgon makes her way down to the ring, taking a seat on the outside to watch. Stone promptly looks for a Stone's Throw, but Tornado manages to land on his feet.

He delivers a couple of punches before Stone starts firing back with chops. Jeremy backs up then comes in fast, and Tornado is ready with one hell of a dropkick – but Stone's momentum is such that he flies past Troy and even slides all the way out of the ring.

A dive over the top rope pops the crowd and keeps Stone staggered, he rolls his opponent back in the ring and starts calling for it.

Stone reverses the Tornado Driver to shift into a Stone Hold, but Tornado makes the ropes.

He blocks a suplex, elbows free, and goes for the ropes, getting the Star Maker! ONE, TWO, TH-NO!

Troy looks around for something bigger, pointing in the end to the corner turnbuckle. The crowd give their approval and Tornado starts climbing. Jeremy, however, turns out to have some energy left. He scrambles up onto the second rope and delivers a European uppercut, then another, then pops up onto the top, hitting a release belly-to-belly superplex.

As Tornado regains his feet, Jeremy is already stalking him – more European uppercuts follow, one, two, three, four – Seven in total, then a go-behind into the Stone's Throw. Gorgon steps up to ringside as Stone recovers, driving a forearm into Tornado's face, then drags him out of the ring.

While Jeremy keeps Sam Sparrow's attention, Gorgon delivers two more punches and looks for the Hydra Bomb – and Tornado manages to twist in her grip!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ShooterSeanDeeley.jpg

He looks to get clear with a flying headscissors, but Gorgon keeps her vertical base, leaving Troy dangling from her – and Gorgon boosts him back up to look again for the Hydra Bomb, only to be distracted when Sean Deeley, having run all the way down, gets in her face. Troy uses the opportunity to finally twist clear, rolling back into the ring and going for Stone, who ducks the Star Maker – boot to the gut, DDT!

On the outside, meanwhile, Deeley takes a Hydra Bomb. Stone covers Troy, but Troy kicks out before two – and when Jeremy looks to follow up, Troy once again elbows free of the Stone's Throw. This time, he goes for the Tornado Driver – and nails it.

Gorgon slides into the ring, and Tornado meets her with another attempt at a flying headscissor, becoming in the process one of the few who've taken the Womens Champion off her feet. Jeremy is almost up and Troy comes off the ropes to nail the Star Maker a second time. One, two, three!

Jason Azaria – Sara Silver – Autumn Gleeson

  • In the opening bout of a feature episode of Badge of Honor – featuring Team KOBRA wrestlers in every match – Suzanne Brazzle earned a comfortable victory over Tamara McFly with the Miracle Connection knockout punch. (Rating: B)
  • In interview with Autumn Gleeson, Frankie Dee explained that he'd outbid the Fly Boys on Marlowe's activity during Total Wrestling, looking to ensure they didn't get the kind of record needed to challenge Miyazaki for the All-Action Championship. Eric Tyler seemed put out by the news, but got into an argument with Laura Huggins over the British Lions' handshake in a segue involving the School disobeying him.
  • Frankie Dee then defeated Thunder Snake in a match marred by a lack of chemistry. (Rating: C)
  • Hidekazu put up a remarkably good fight, but the lightweight combatant was overpowered by the sheer size of Tyson Baine. (Rating: B)
  • Generation Omega stormed the ring to make a complaint about the way they're currently being treated. Hawkins challenged Cornell again, and GenOme claimed to have been defending the TCW Tag Team belts regularly in any company willing to let them make a statement at the expense of their own wrestlers. Remo simply said that McFly and Cornell were both on his list, and he'd take them in any order. “It don't matter to Remo.”
  • In a great match, Team VIPER narrowly defeated the Easy Riders when Miyazaki forced Billy Fonda to tap to the Ankle Lock. (Rating: B+)
  • Koshiro Ino and Jack Bruce really connected in the main event, but unfortunately the KOBRA commander came out on the losing side after a New York Minute. (Rating: B)
  • Team KOBRA then entered the ring for the bokken ceremony, with Ino appearing almost as displeased at receiving the bokken shots as Thunder Snake.
