British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Kazuma & the Kid

Fast, furious action here. Kazuma & the Kid have a strategy, and it's the hit-and-run technique that keeps them out of range of the punishment that the Lions offer.

It's a solid approach, and once again the duo put in a surprisingly good showing before an error allows Walter Morgan to take over. There's actually a pretty strong reaction from the crowd in support of Morgan as he works Kazuma over before tagging out; allowing O'Curle to put the finishing touches to the match with the Celtic Wreath.

The Cannonball Kid enters the ring to commiserate with his partner, and the British Lions line up opposite them. For a moment, there's tension, but Walter Morgan steps forward and extends a hand.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EricTyler.jpg

“Oh, like hell you will,” growls a voice over the PA. Eric Tyler emerges just a couple of seconds later, microphone in hand, glowering fiercely. “Merle, Walter, get the **** away from those two. I could actually understand you shaking hands with the muscleheads – they gave you a tough fight. But this – saluting these two?

“They're not in your league. Hell, they're not in the league below you. And I will not have you two accepting being second best.

“I don't know what's gotten into you two lately – you had contendership in your hands, for Christ's sake, it was yours to throw away, and you did. I'm not going to accept that.

“You follow the School's teachings and you will go to the top. You have everything else you need. But for the love of God ditch those two losers in the ring.”

The Lions don't look happy about this, but they leave.

“Kazuma & the Kid don't have the record of the British Lions,” Azaria says philosophically. “But you have to admire their willingness to compete, no matter the odds.”

Amber Allen vs. Raku Makuda

The womens' division continues to win more fans over; notably fewer fans than usual are missing from the crowd here, with both women doing their damnedest to win over the fans and win the contest. Makuda hits fast and hard, playing the striking game; Allen looks to ground for both technical and ground-and-pound style reasons.

The simple fact of the matter is that, watching this match, it isn't really possible to separate the two's performances. Allen and Makuda yo-yo momentum and the upper hand forth between them with neither one able to truly turn the tables on their opponent.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

That is, until something tips the balance. With Ray Johnson's attention elsewhere, Cherry Bomb nails Amber Allen from behind. She staggers forward; Makuda gets a DDT and follows that with her signature Swanton Bomb to score the win.

Aaron Andrews vs. Zimmy

Zimmy strikes while Eugene Williams has his back turned to signal for the bell, booting Aaron in the gut before going for a whip to the corner – but Andrews reverses it, staying on top of the Darkwave man with a running lariat to the corner followed by a series of body blows.

Zimmy manages to cut off the onslaught with a jumping headbutt out of the corner, then he uncorks a series of right hands of his own – one which surprises much of the crowd, seeing the intensity of the blows. Aaron stops a charge, however, ducking the forearm and bringing Zimmy to his knees with a harsh kick to the small of the back, then another – beginning to target the spine already.

A suplex attempt is blocked when Zimmy hooks the leg; the former Bumfhole throws forearms to stagger his opponent, backs off, and comes in with a charge – but Aaron backdrops him to the floor.

With the crowd starting to get enthusiastic, Aaron hops onto the bottom rope at an angle to the recovering Zimmy, then the top rope on the same side, then tumbles out – and Zimmy moves clear, rolling back into the ring to hit the far ropes for momentum.

He soars out over the top rope to come crashing down on Andrews, driving him into the barricade, much to the fans' dismay. The brawl continues, though; Aaron shows incredible tenacity by shrugging off that impact to continue, but Zimmy's just too fast; he dances away from a big swing, leaps, and drives Andrews back-first into the ring apron with a spin-kick before rolling him back inside.

He looks to capitalise but Aaron kicks out almost immediately before whipping him to the ropes; he goes for his signature spinebuster, but even as he twists in the air Zimmy shows he can scout with the best of them; his legs grapevine Aaron's body and he grabs a front facelock. As Andrews looks to complete the move, Zimmy shifts his weight.

The result is half Andrews spinebuster, half Zimmy DDT; both men lie still for a few moments afterward, as Azaria notes that Zimmy sacrificed a spine Andrews had already targetted to get that move.

Zimmy recovers first, and slowly makes the pin – one, two, TH-

Andrews shows that tenacity again, getting his shoulder up with aplomb. Zimmy tries to fight back and gets a quick rollup but then gets his head removed by a clothesline. Andrews drops forearms across the back and chest of Zimmy, clearly focused after that innovative DDT counter.

A quick cover just barely gets two, and Aaron changes tack, whipping his opponent across the ring. He goes for a charge, but Zimmy has his boots up and cuts it off – then immediately goes for the Code Red! ONE, TWO, THR-

Aaron forces his way out again, rolling clear. Zimmy goes for a kick; Aaron catches it, spins him around, and drives a forearm into the small of his back. Back suplex follows, and a quick cover – Zimmy's out a hair after two.

Zimmy back to his feet and he cuts off Andrews with a couple of chops, jumps to the second rope looking for a springboat kick, and Aaron literally punches him out of the air with a hell of a haymaker.

Andrews goes for the Game Breaker; Zimmy counters into a rana, but Aaron manages to catch him in midair rather than get yanked off his feet!

He promptly powerbombs Zimmy into the turnbuckle, but the Darkwave man rolls clear.

Andrews looks for him on the outside of the ring, but Zimmy grabs hold of the steel stairs, throwing them down to block Aaron's momentum – then he vaults onto the steel and unleashes a dropkick!

The crowd are going mental as Zimmy rolls his opponent into the ring. Down goes the kneepad, setting for the Blood Rush, and Zimmy launches off – Aaron sidesteps – bulldog by Andrews! He scoops him up – GAME BREAKER! ONE, TWO, THREE!

Breakin' The Law hits and Tommy Cornell comes out. He's got a microphone, but at the moment, he's just applauding – and thanks to the performances in the previous matches, that feels more than valid. He's smiling, and after a few moments he stops the applause and raises the microphone to his lips.

“Brilliant match,” he says. “Aaron, I know you and Sean are sitting waiting to find out who your third teammate is.

“The thing is, so are Generation Omega. Now, I can promise you that the third man on your team is going to be one hell of a wrestler, someone who can hold up his end of the match – but I'm not giving them time to scout him. You'll find out soon, though, I guarantee.”

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Tyler & Huggins

Painful Procedure's junior tag team look hungry for a win here – beating Eric Tyler means a lot, if you can do it – but the School of Tradition are not impressed.

The announce team, however, are focused as much as anything on the conspicuous lack of Laura Huggins by the side of her School of Tradition charges – she's often held back from coming out alongside her brother, but Eric Tyler is a very different proposition.

The fight is surprisingly close in places; Statler and Waldorf are clearly doing their level best to appear on a level with their opponents. However... Ultimately, it's just not enough. They concentrate their assault on Eric Tyler, and in the end Freddy Huggins takes Waldorf's head off with the Huggins Kiss.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BlackEagle_alt4.jpg

Before Marv can rescue his teammate, Ian Harris is at ringside. He yanks Statler from the apron, escaping over the guardrail from Randall Hopkirk's bid for vengeance.

Edd Stone vs. Sayeed Ali w/ Carl Batch

I Gotta Feelin begins to play, causing some surprise from the announce team as that's not Edd Stone's theme, it's Giant Tana's. And then Tana emerges. In a bad wig, a stick-on goatee, and ring gear resembling Edd's.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TanaTheMighty.jpg vs. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SayeedAli.jpg w/ http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CarlBatch.jpg

Giant Tana vs. Sayeed Ali w/ Carl Batch

Ali has a lot of power to his punches, and he does manage to stagger Tana a couple of times – but he can't take the big man off his feet, and Tana seems revitalised over the past month.

The two bull each other around the ring, but at the finish Tana uncorks a tremendous superkick, sending Sayeed to the corner – and he follows with the Big Fat Samoan Squash to secure the pin.

Obviously still unhappy with Tana's costume – unhappy, perhaps, that someone's struck back in this way – Edd Stone is in the ring in moments, a blur of kicks on the offensive against Tana.

After the match, and with Ali throwing a couple of payback punches to help out, Tana is unbalanced by these, driven back. Edd measures for the Edd-Renaline Shot -

Umaga abruptly falls when Champagne Lover enters the ring, catching him from behind with a blockbuster. The fight spills to the outside, but Eternal Party and Ali have the slight numbers advantage.

Peter Hopper w/ Carl Batch vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

Hopper is very cagey as the match begins, watching Keith, waiting for a flash of veteran inspiration from the multi-time world champion – because when you wrestle Sam Keith, anything could happen at any moment.

Hopper relies, for his part, on pure strength; able to muscle Keith around the ring with ease, Sam finds himself on the receiving end of his second beatdown in four days, tossed around the place. In desperation Keith digs down into his vast repertoire of tactics and holds learned from a career spent travelling the world. He does the only thing that seems logical at that point.

Sam Keith goes lucha libre, using the momentum Hopper's power provides to turn the tables, to put the big man on the back foot.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SayeedAli.jpg

As it becomes clear that power alone is not going to carry the day here Carl Batch makes a sign to camera; not one the fans understand, but that's evidently not what it's for, as a watching Sayeed Ali appears on the ramp, heading down to aid his stablemate.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MarcSpeed_FIN4.jpg

This is not successful, however; following him down at quite a pace is Marc Speed, who takes out a leg and snags the Deadly Heel Hook to lock him in place. With Ali thus detained, Keith has the time he needs, taking Hopper down into the Proton Lock.

Hopper makes one explosive effort to break free, but when it doesn't work, with Keith rolling through to keep the hold applied, he taps quickly, avoiding serious injury. That actually draws approval for tactical thinking from Azaria.

Brent Hill vs. Matthew Keith

With two competitors of this quality, this was always going to be a great match, and it certainly delivers.

Hill is clearly out, as the announce team suggest, to do at least as well as his stablemate Marc Speed did, or even squeeze out a victory. Matthew Keith, meanwhile, is more than ready to put him away.

Hill goes as hard as Speed, with Keith a little more confident, throwing a few more punches early on, having the experience now to not allow this to become a pure wrestling contest. Nonetheless, Brent manages, after eighteen minutes, to get into a position for the King of the Hill splash...

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/GreaseHogg.jpg

Mayhem Midden promptly emerges to the tune of Shout At The Devil. He has a microphone in hand and, as ever, Charlie Thatcher by his side.

Fonda, having rolled into the ring, freezes like a guilty kid when the subject of a broken window comes up.

Midden smirks, nodding. “That's right, Billy. Back down. Now.”

Slowly, very slowly, Fonda takes a couple of steps back.

“You and your buddies have been going after the Machines well past long enough,” Midden continues. “This Sunday, I want all six of you in the ring. And Billy – if you've got any sense at all, you'll let the result there be an end to it. I don't plan on letting you boys run wild any longer than I have to.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpg

The big screen comes to life moments later, showing clips of Johnny Bloodstone's exercise regime. It's a hell of a regime, too; stamina and flexibility are both emphasised, with Bloodstone at one point hanging by his knees from a high bar doing sit-ups against the flow of gravity.

His work on the speed bag is equally impressive, and some of the clips show him alongside the Kreed, with Reed and Greg doing their best to mimic the Full Moon Rising as Bloodstone prepares a defence against it.

Over these clips, Bloodstone's recorded voice speaks.

“Once again I have a championship match and no one's looking.

“One more time. Everyone looks past me. People are talking about Tommy Cornell stepping in the ring against Wolf Hawkins for the World Heavyweight Championship.

“Well, the last time people looked past me they were talking about Troy Tornado and Jack Bruce for the World Heavyweight Championship.

“Remember how that turned out?”

Bloodstone laughs, free and easy. “Overlook me all you like. I don't go out and talk a big game – I just wrestle them. That's what made my name. That's what won me fans.

“If you look past me, you just make it easier for me to beat you. So everyone out there who's sick of Generation Omega – don't worry. I will be champion again.

“And I will show you the very best that professional wrestling has to offer.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ChampagneLover.jpg vs. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SeanMcFly.jpg

Champagne Lover vs. Sean McFly

Both of these men are exceptional competitors, and the battle here is a long one and a good one, though the announcers focus on McFly's performance, seizing on his mistakes and any particularly innovative counters, all viewed in the context of how likely they are to help his trio against Generation Omega on Sunday.

To his credit, Shawn Doakes does spend some time singing the praises of Lover during the match, and to his credit, Champagne Lover well and truly deserves it, holding off Sean McFly and even, from time to time, leading the match – though he does find that McFly has the Champagne Breakfast and the Champagne Sunrise both scouted.

The battle is intense, the battle has the crowd on their feet, and for the longest time, the battle is close to even. McFly begins, however, to gather steam, even as Azaria brings up the famed conditioning of anyone associated with the House of Stone – citing a one-hour match Art Reed recently had on the house show circuit against Jeremy Stone – and it looks, at that point, like Sean McFly will have this one all to himself.

But that's not quite how it works out.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Remo.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JoeyMinnesota.jpg

Remo Richardson comes over the guardrail from the crowd, breaking McFly's momentum with a spear. As Eugene Williams calls for the bell, Joey Minnesota comes in; Remo whips McFly to his Generation Omega ally, who meets Sean with the Minnesota Salute, much to the crowd's dismay.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MarcDuBois-1.jpg

DuBois slides in in perfect time to deliver a Marc of Excellence as McFly recoils from the Salute, and Remo has positioned himself perfectly. He hits a Lumbar Puncture then, without slowing, powers McFly over his head -

DESTROYER ON MCFLY!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickyDaleJohnson.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TexasHangman.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AaronAndrews-1.jpg

Ricky Dale Johnson and Texas Pete hit the ring, chairs in hand, and a couple of paces behind them is McFly's partner this Sunday, Aaron Andrews, armed in the same way.

Generation Omega retreat, but they do so smirking; Sean McFly is out cold, and their message has been sent.

Black Eagle's contacts and mask fitted perfectly; I went for the variation that looked most like something I'd expect to see on stage. He doesn't have either of his usual gimmick names because, well, they don't fit the EBM style. He'd have his real name, except - like the Easy Riders - the surname just didn't work for me. In their case, I made it their gimmick; here, I made a minimum tweak.

While every company hopes that their youthful workers will, someday, pay-off for them, Andrews' success poses more than that. In a way, what he is able to accomplish will ultimately effect how people perceive the TCW-Machine all together. They produce a good looking blue-chipper; can they get him where he needs to go or will they falter in their booking of a young star? Or, was he never really a blue-chipper, we just thought he was, and the TCW training program isn't as good as we had first thought. Frankie Dee w/ Laura Huggins vs. Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily

Dee gets some build-up before his title challenge

JeriLynn Stone vs. Stephanie Wade

Guess, for some reason I never seem to have clear idea about women matches.

Elite Express vs. the Machines

Win for Express would help them more than Machines but since Machines are likely going to have feud ending match with Easy Riders soon I assume that they will gain some momentum here.

Touching on both of these: The man bringing in the returnee has already mentioned he's doing so, and Oregano, I almost wish it was your choice, as your logic - as ever - is impeccable. I can definitely see where you're coming from, to the point where I'm considering tweaking booking down the line.

ajcrible: I can exclusively reveal that the man I'm bringing in is someone I first really looked at thanks to your dynasty, and someone who will probably be more comfortable on TV nowadays. Also, jhd1's render for his modern day look is a thing of beauty.

Set to the dulcet tones of Holst's Mars, Bringer of War, a video airs to open the show with clips from the discovery of an unconscious Charlie Thatcher and a seriously injured Mayhem Midden, overlaid with dialogue from the later discussion of the suspects – and video footage of Generation Omega's various other assaults, notably GenOme on Jack Marlowe, Remo Richardson assaulting Tommy Cornell, and Joey Minnesota laying out former tag partner Aaron Andrews.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickyDaleJohnson.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TexasHangman.jpg

The video ends to show Ricky Dale Johnson and Texas Pete heading to the ring with broad smiles in place, walking tall and confident.

RDJ climbs into the ring and takes a look around the fanbase, beaming confidently.

“It's been a long time I've been coming round the country,” he says. “But I still remember the first time I came up this way.

“That was back in 1990, and TWL were still touring most of the country. I came up here as one half of the Modern Day Cowboys...” He smiles reminiscently. “That was a good time, it really was. Sean and me, we had a good run for quite a while.

“But I say this because my mind's on TWL right now. The Texas Wrestling League was what gave me my break in this business. It was the place I grew up watchin', and it was what made me fall in love with wrestling.

“Well, seems to me that TCW is down one commentator for tomorrow if Midden's not around, and seems to me like me and Pete here could do with someone to watch our backs. Someone who knows the sport, who knows all the dirty tricks from the inside out – because I'll level with ya, I've never really seen the sport from Generation Omega's end. Frankly, we need someone who's gonna spot this kinda bullcrap before it comes up.

“So here we go...”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/FloydBowman_jhd2.jpg

The track is just about recognisable to the oldest fans in attendance, but the fan reaction isn't strong – yet. The man who comes out, however, is a little more recognisable – TWL still has a kind of semi-legendary status, and those who know this man don't have to recognise him by how he looks now.

Floyd “F-Bomb” Bowman comes out with his customary gesture in evidence, middle fingers to the crowd.

TCW cultivates a wrestling fanbase, and there are, now, some fans who're happy to be flipped off by a legend, a section of the crowd responding.

Some of the crowd are just reacting to the obvious joy of Ricky Dale Johnson – still as much a figure with a following in TCW as ever – and Texas Pete, joy at seeing this man back in a wrestling arena.

“Well, good Goddamn,” Bowman begins, grinning broadly. “Sure are a **** of a lot of you here. Ain't seen crowds this ****in' size since maybe the end of the eighties.

“You know, I remember when TWL first got ****in' TV, and when TWL first got ****in' TV they came to me and they said for the love of ****, Floyd, do not ****in' speak when the TV cameras are rollin', they said I was well and ****in' truly unsuitable fer TV. You ****in' believe that?”

If anything, Bowman's ranting has gotten worse... or he's laying it on for the debut. He laughs.

“Well, I'll tell you what, it's the best parta thirty-****in-five years on and I'm well and ****in' truly on TV right now, huh?”

He takes a look around the crowd, smirking.

“So tomorrow night, listen up. My old friend Ricky here, he's known me since I was windin' my ****in' career down, he's the guest ref for the goddamn giant six-man. And you should know how much I ****in' love six-man tags – so I'm gonna be around to make ****in' sure things go by the ****in' book. An' Pete here, well, he's got a hell of a ****in' match ahead, but I'm gonna be ringside there, too, make sure of things.

“Met Midden once, short-term, an' I wasn't a big ****in' fan but then that's on accounta he was a snot-nosed punk of a kid, just like this so-called Generation Omega. ****in' Phil Vibert got involved when TWL was on it's last ****in' legs and bled a little more outta the company; I'm not gonna let him do the same ****in' thing again.”

Frankie Dee w/ Laura Huggins vs. Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily

These two young talents are both capable of very strong results, but it has to be said as this match goes on that they don't seem to be producing against one another as well as they should be.

Nonetheless, the contest isn't as bad as it might be – it does just about hang together – and at the finish, Frankie Dee drops Thunder Snake, delivering a Shinanju Kick to both block the Snake Lash and secure a win.

Team KOBRA, as ever, come out, centering themselves around Thunder Snake.

The masked marvel does not look happy – not at all. And Koshiro Ino reaches out, demanding the bokken from Baroness Emily. Demanding the right to do this himself.

Thunder Snake does not look happy, but he takes the shot, his face screwed up with silent fury.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/FrankieDee.jpg

Out of nowhere, there's a cackle. Frankie Dee has stuck around, and he's pointing at the punished KOBRA man with glee. “Take it!” he yells. “Take it like a bitch!”

Thunder Snake snarls, but Ino puts a hand in his way.

Shingen Miyazaki abruptly trips Dee from behind, going for the ankle lock. Dee squirms clear and scrambles away, with the camera showing Thunder Snake smiling now.

The Baroness hands Ino the microphone, and he turns back to Thunder Snake. “Concerning martial valor, merit lies more in dying for one's master than in striking down the enemy. This can be understood from the devotion of Sate Tsugunobu.”

With that, Team KOBRA return backstage.

JeriLynn Stone vs. Stephanie Wade

The women's division is full of competitors who are more than eager to prove what they can do in comparison to the men, and after a fast start these two actually look to pick up the pace.

Wade tries for the superkick on a number of occasions, but JeriLynn has that move pretty well scouted – she's willing to bail from the ring rather than take it.

JeriLynn tries to work a ground game, but she has to do so with extreme caution – Wade is clearly the heavier hitter of the two, and every time JL applies a hold, she risks a heavy blow, a step backward, and a superkick. On commentary, the announce team hammer this one home; Stephanie Wade can end a match in a heartbeat, if given even a fraction of a chance.

Nonetheless, after eight minutes of fast-paced and somewhat desperate action, it's JeriLynn who manages to hit the Girl's Best Friend, picking up the win seconds later.

Pistol Pete Hall is backstage with Autumn Gleeson, chatting in the interview area about nothing in particular. As the camera reveals them, Gleeson is saying “...really want to manage a tag team, and this is the place for that.”

Hall smiles. “Any idea who?”

“Well-” Gleeson cuts herself off mid-phrase. “Uh, sorry. I'm told the match has finished.” She turns to the camera smoothly. “Good evening, everyone,” she says. “I'm here with Pistol Pete Hall, a legend in the business, a champion here and in Japan, and Pete, the thing our forums tell us the fans want to know-”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MatthewKeith.jpg

“Screw that.” Matthew Keith barges onto the interview set.

“Listen up,” Keith begins. “Petey, I know that belt you won in Japan. It's not on the level of the one my dad won, but you'll still do as a stand-in sometime – assuming you don't turn tail.

“But I just need you to know your match isn't getting upgraded to a title match and you have no chance of taking the Hard-Hitting Championship – because there's no way Chris Rockwell is beating me tomorrow.

“So whatever your plan is, forget it. You're getting nowhere – and you try and change that, and I'll break you in two.”

Elite Express vs. The Machines

Brent Hill and Nate Johnson start this one off, and Johnson looks keen to change people's opinion of the Machines in TCW; as the bell rings, he drives Hill back a step with a forearm, then doubles him over with a kick – and then he leaps, nailing Brent on the top of the head with a crisp dropkick.

Hill dodges the next assault and throws some chops before grabbing a front facelock, looking to slow Johnson down. This works, for a few moments – but Nate shifts his ground, and gets into a different position. He starts unleashing kicks, firing them off into Hill's midsection, until the hold breaks.

Brent manages to cut off Johnson's latest onslaught with a dropkick of his own, then moves to tag out quickly. Anderson comes in strong, cutting Nate off with a running forearm and looking to lock him down – specifically, as Johnson regains his feet, Anderson nails his right knee with a dropkick, then hooks in an Indian figure-four, looking to take down the surprising mobility with which Johnson began the match.

Nate reaches the ropes, and as Anderson stays on him he fights up, firing off forearms to match Anderson's chops, pulling himself up to his feet with the ropes. Anderson promptly takes him to the centre of the ring in a headlock and looks for a suplex, but Johnson blocks it – at some personal cost, using the injured leg to block – and goes for a tag.

Anderson tags out himself and in comes Brent! Thomas and Hill collide in the centre of the ring, and Thomas sets the tone with a series of punches. Brent fires back with chops, gaining the momentum, then a volley of chops – uppercut – Brent grabs a front facelock – goes for the DDT – Thomas drops to his knees to block – Nate Johnson tries to rush the ring, and Eugene Williams moves to cut him off – Thomas with a low blow!

He pops up as Hill doubles over and gets a powerbomb more or less out of nowhere. In comes Anderson - Johnson comes in to help Thomas, and after a couple of punches they toss him out of the ring. Nate clamps down a front facelock while Bobby hops up to the second rope, coming off with a stomp very like the one that puts the finale on the Precision Driller.

In comes Anderson again with a bulldog to Johnson! The Machines hook together on Thomas, hitting a double suplex.

Johnson picks himself up and looks for a superkick on Hill – who ducks it, boosts Johnson onto his shoulders – ELECTRIC CHAIR DROP! Anderson and Hill get a high five, but Thomas cannons into them from behind Hill, sending them both crashing to the mat. Brent gets up first, and that gets him a DDT for his troubles.

With the Express both upright, they drag their opponents to their feet and look for stereo powerbombs – but the Machines both counter – vaulting over their opponents to look for backslides – and the Express both roll through the backslide, popping up to nail the Machines with dropkicks to the face!

Bobby Thomas looks for the Precision Driller on Anderson, with Johnson on the top rope, but Hill cuts that off by taking Thomas' leg out from under him with a chop block.

Anderson slams Johnson off the top turnbuckle, then lifts Thomas for a piledriver – but Bobby uses his one good leg to kick loose, dropping to the mat. His bad leg buckles on impact – and Johnson comes over Bobby's head to nail a shining wizard! In comes Hill – Thomas pops up from behind and lands a back suplex, crashing out afterward, clutching his knee.

Bobby rolls out of the ring and Nate looks worried for a long moment, but with Anderson still a little out of it, he drags Hill to his feet and vaults onto the second rope to deliver a flying slice kick – the famous Natural Order. Immediate cover. ONE, TWO, THRE- Anderson breaks the pin.

An Ammo Dump from Anderson follows, then he rolls out of the ring to allow Brent to cover. ONE, TWO, THRE – NO!

The crowd can't believe it, but the Express man just kicked out. Brent moves fast, however, transitioning to lock in the Complete Package, and Johnson has to tap.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/WolfHawkins.jpg

The crowd is still getting over that when a disturbance occurs as two men make their way through it – Phil Vibert and Wolf Hawkins. They climb the guardrail and slide into the ring.

Phil Vibert grins. “It looks like everything's going our way, doesn't it?” he asks. “The champion – the Champion, the top prize in wrestling. Tag champions who hold a belt which has better reputation than any other tag title in the sport. We get a whole month of rest and preparation between matches.

“And Mayhem Midden is now, oh-so-mysteriously, out of the way.” A smirk from Hawkins, who takes the microphone.

“I still know what I'm after, boss man,” he begins. “I'm going to get what I want, sooner or later. Tomorrow, you can watch Remo, Joey and Marc destroy your three. That's going to be four casualties. And if you don't give me what I want... sooner or later we're going to bring everybody down.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TommyCornell_alt1jt.jpg

Vibert grins, and then Breakin' The Law bursts through the arena speakers. The crowd explode as Tommy Cornell emerges.

“You know, son, just because Ken's out of action doesn't mean this place is fallin' apart,” he begins. “And Wolf, you aren't getting me in the ring. We've started pulling things down around you. Let's look at the list, shall we?

“You got the title. Well, Bloodstone has you in the ring tomorrow, and he's been training. He can beat you. And then you won't have that.

“The New Wave are a hell of a team. GenOme could be looking at a record-short reign.

“And let's not forget – Phil's man on the board has to sell up. And tomorrow, when Sean McFly, Aaron Andrews, and our third man beat your three, I get him in the ring – by Mayhem Midden's stip – and believe me, I'm going to enjoy myself.”

“You don't even have a third man,” Hawkins scoffs.

“Sunbeam, you could not be more wrong.” Cornell smirks. “Sean McFly is an all-time great wrestler. He'll match Remo's power with his smarts. Andrews has shown you've got to have a way more twisted mind than DuBois to get round him. And Joey Minnesota... well, he's a great technical wrestler.

“So I brought in Sean Deeley. And my guess is he'll break Joey's arm to beat him if he has to.”

Vibert and Hawkins exchange glances, obviously a little concerned by Cornell's reasoning.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ArtReed.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BlondeBombshell.jpg

Then Hood That Took Me Under begins to play, and out comes Art Reed, flanked by the Blonde Bombshell.

He holds out his hand for the microphone. Somewhat surprised, Cornell passes it across.

“You know something?” Reed begins. “You missed something off that list, Tommy. Wolf here has had most've a month to rest up, train, and focus. And Johnny's had matches. Competition. Other things on his mind.”

Hawkins laughs. “Like there's a chance in hell I wouldn't win anyway.”

“Well, that's kinda what I hoped you'd say,” Reed returns. “You want to prove that?”

Vibert is looking a little worried here.

“You offering to step in here with me?” Hawkins gesture takes in the ring. “You want to stop and think about this?”

Reed shrugs. “I spent a year and change not stepping up and taking on the challenge,” he says. “Didn't get me anywhere. Since then I've stolen the show and taken everyone I face to the limit.

“I'm gonna understand if you wanna back out.”

Hawkins snorts. “OK, that's enough crap. Get in here. I'll push you past your limit.” Vibert reaches out a hand, on edge.

The Blonde Bombshell takes the microphone. “You think you can find his limit?”

“I know it.”

She smiles. “Fine,” she says. “Then prove it. Make it an Iron Man match.

“We still have an hour of the show.”

Vibert lunges for the mic, but Hawkins moves it away from him. “You got it. Get your ass down here!”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/totalbanner.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ArtReed.jpg w/ http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BlondeBombshell.jpg vs. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/WolfHawkins.jpg w/ http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

Art Reed w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

These are two of the greatest young talents in the business today. Athletic, strong, slick – and both of them have demonstrated remarkable conditioning over the last six months, running and running.

There's every reason to expect this contest to be a great one.

And... That's pretty much what we get here. Hawkins seems a little overconfident in the early going, but at around twenty minutes in, Reed dumps Hawkins with a neckbreaker then transitions into the Bloodstone Mutilation. After maybe forty-five seconds, Wolf cuts his losses, tapping out.

First Fall: Hawkins 0 – 1 Reed

The next exchange sees Hawkins take the contest a little more seriously. He has to rely on kicks initially, spending a fair amount of time shaking his arms out, testing his shoulders. Then, when he's certain, he kicks up the pace – and Art just goes with him, matching him move for move, hold for hold. At the thirty-one minute mark, out of practically nowhere, Hawkins counters the Dark Matter, rebounding to drive Reed face-first into the canvas with his knees. The cover is quick, and Art can't quite kick out.

Second Fall: Hawkins 1 – 1 Reed

As the third fall begins, Art Reed is bleeding from the nose. This doesn't stop him – having lost the lead, in fact, he steps up the pace once again. Wolf proves all too happy to go with it, as the announce team, recovering from a lengthy run of getting excited about Art pulling out the win one-nil, start to concentrate on the fact that Wolf Hawkins tapped to the Bloodstone Mutilation.

They dwell on what that – and an hour-long match the night before – will do to the title picture tomorrow.

And then Art finds a place Wolf can't go. He may not be so determined, he may be less willing to throw punches, but his athleticism and speed are phenomenal. Rebounding off the ropes, he brings Hawkins to the mat with a bulldog and immediately transitions to the Dread Lock – but Hawkins is able to reach the second rope before the hold is locked in, and Reed has to break it. At forty-three minutes in, Wolf goes for the Full Moon Rising – and Reed counters with a dragon screw, wasting no time in floating over to a pin – which brings the third fall to an end.

Third Fall: Hawkins 1 – 2 Reed

With only seventeen minutes to go and down one point, Wolf keeps his cool. After the rapid adrenaline-rush exchange of the third fall, he tries a different tack.

The Generation Omega champion looks to outwrestle a graduate of the House of Stone. And terrifyingly, as the minutes tick by... it looks like he just might.

In the end, it looks like he won't – but with fifty-nine minutes on the clock, with the announce team noting that the man who helped Bloodstone train for the title shot knows a counter to the Full Moon Rising – Wolf Hawkins gets his hand on the ropes as he rolls Reed up into a cradle. And that secures the equalising fall.

Fourth Fall: Hawkins 2 – 2 Reed

Wasting no time, knowing there's nothing on the clock, Hawkins twists and leaps, hitting the Full Moon Rising. With ten seconds remaining, he covers – one, two, three!

Fifth Fall: Hawkins 3 – 2 Reed

Wolf Hawkins took Art Reed to the limit, but it sure as hell looked like he found his own in the process.

Show Notes:

One day, we'll revisit that main event. With a couple more points apiece in Psychology and a hot storyline. And I'll hate the length of writeup an hour-long A* deserves.

For those who don't know the '77 mod: "Floyd Bowman, better known as "F Bomb" in TWL, is the brawler of the Texas Outlaws, and he can definitely brawl with the best of them. However, the element of Floyd's game that makes him really stand out is his transendent charisma; he was such a flippant and cool heel that eventually the Texas fans started to cheer him for doing bad things." Thanks to jhd1 for a stellar 'aged' render.

The Machines may be the first duo to enter the Hall of Immortals as a tag team; now they've hit 100% experience, they're ultra-reliable. And way to start making your mark, Elite Express. It looks like they've hit the point where they're ready to be legends in TCW, too - assuming they can get a break.

Frankie Dee is not lucky on chemistry. Still... he's definitely developing.

And as Summer Showdown dawns, we have an astonishing slate of matches for everyone to see.

Without further ado:

We were surprised to hear of a late addition to the match list, but apparently by mutual agreement between Laura Huggins and the Blonde Bombshell their tag team charges have agreed to face one another once again - so the Kreed and the British Lions will go head to head to begin the show.

Next on the card is scheduled to be a three-man match for the International Championship, with Edd Stone defending against Canadian Elemental and Giant Tana. Will power, speed, or ring savvy win out?

A big six-man tag has been made for Summer Showdown. After months facing off with one another the Machines and the Easy Riders will finally face each other with full lineups. Which trio will come out on top?

All-Action Champion Shingen Miyazaki has had a wide assortment of challengers recently, and all have invoked the services of "Enforcer" Jack Marlowe. Far be it from us to speculate, but at TCW.com we're expecting Marlowe to get involved alongside Frankie Dee.

Every title is set to be defended, as always, and Summer Showdown has the tag team championships due to be defended next - with GenOme taking on dangerous challengers in a revitalised New Wave.

After that comes what could be a dangerous match. No holds are barred and we see power, temper, and skill arrayed against one another as Texas Pete defends his Hard-Hitting Championship against Chris Rockwell and Matthew Keith. You won't want to miss this one.

She's been unstoppable since her arrival, and Gorgon doesn't look likely to change that any time soon. Her challenger, though, has the heritage and training to knock her from her perch - JeriLynn Stone is no pushover. The TCW Womens Championship is going to be a costly prize for whoever holds it when Monday rolls around.

And then we reach the part of the show where Generation Omega prowl. A six-man tag has a hefty stipulation riding on it; if Generation Omega win, then they may return to regular competition. If Sean McFly's team win, then there will be a further addition to the card as Tommy Cornell will face Phil Vibert in one-on-one competition.

Lastly - but far from least - Wolf Hawkins must defend his World Heavyweight Championship against the last champion, Johnny Bloodstone, just a day after a gruelling hour-long match which showed Bloodstone knows a counter to the Full Moon Rising.
