TCW: A Quiet Retirement

Recommended Posts

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. New Wave

New Wave might not be right at the top right now, but I would still count them as an A-Division Tag Team, where as Conquering Kings are B-Division...as in meaning a team that would only really pick up wins on the B-Show.

Elite Express vs. International Air (Adam Matravers & Mr. Lucha III)

I don't give the newcomers much hope here, there not big enough names to make an instant impact. Elite Express are established enough now, not to fall to defeat in this sort of match.

Champagne Lover vs. El Leon

Lover's had more going for me thus far in TCW. El Leon is little more than a talented jobber right now.

Amber Allen vs. Gorgon

No brainer squash for the monster of the womens division

Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. Aaron Andrews & Tommy Cornell

Fly Boys do just enough in TCW, to not be considered as completely hopeless but there is no chance of them getting anything out of this match.

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone

I guess that DWN's win over Greg Keith, signals the beginning of his singles push...but I think this will be a gradual push, and getting a win over an established main eventer such as Jezza Stone, as opposed to a borderline one like Keith, would be too much, too soon.

Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert vs. Matthew Keith vs. Troy Tornado

These matches are there to rebuild Troy Tornado as a legitimate title challenger to Wolf Hawkins, with strong wins over some strong competition....I still feel that this is all in vain, as I think he will still come up short when he actually steps into the ring with Hawkins but it's an innovative way to build him back up and a nice nod to the recent past...where Tornado was the triple threat champion during the disputed World Championship storyline.

Conquering Kings w/ Alanis Springsteen vs. New Wave

With the same kind of intensity the New Wave demonstrated following their loss the previous night, Guide and Scout launch into the Conquering Kings with a savage fury. Barry Kingman takes the early brunt of the beating, despite attempts to scientifically wrestle Guide, stalling him out and slowing his offence.

Guide quickly tags himself out; Scout faces the same problem, with Kingman and Alexander both playing a careful, stalling game, looking to exhaust the New Wave's fury and find an opening, but Scout headbutts free, Alexander stumbling backward with a gash opened on his forehead.

“I'm going to suggest Mayhem Midden looks at that wool hat of Scout's,” Springsteen asserts hotly. “I think he'll recognise what he sees.”

From that point on the Kings' cagey strategy just drives them further and further onto the back foot, until a huge Guided Missile creases Kingman up to secure the pin.

Elite Express vs. International Air

In Canada, virtually no fan recognises either Adam Matravers or Mr Lucha III, though the latter's mask carries some name recognition – perhaps three or four of the older fans in the arena.

It was always likely that the two newcomers would, during their first televised appearance, face an uphill battle in terms of wringing any reaction from the crowd, and that's absolutely proved, here, to be the case as their high-flying style only begins to elicit any reaction from the crowd as time goes by.

Still, they combine well, Matravers adopting a high-risk approach which repeatedly prevents the Express from adhering to a straightforward game plan through its sheer unpredictability, the third-generation luchador offering slightly less varied but equally dangerous offence.

The Express' original plan now out of the window, the long-standing duo switch gears once again, instead going for a more careful plan. They start to bait International Air, letting the newcomers showboat – but goading them into a huge play which ultimately leaves Matravers to crash and burn on the mat, at which point they toss him from the ring. A swift two-man assault on Mr. Lucha III sets up the Precision Driller to secure a win.

The cameras find themselves, as they occasionally do, in one of the arena's food courts, with Mayhem Midden, Tommy Cornell and Aaron Andrews gathered around a table talking in low voices.

“...Ino says he's fine with it,” Midden is saying.

“Koshiro Ino says Thunder Snake is fine with all this?” Andrews repeats. “What's Snake got to say for himself?”

Midden shrugs. “You want to talk to Team KOBRA, you talk to Ino or the Baroness, that's all you get.”

Cornell smiles mildly. “You could always make a triple-threat,” he says. “But-”

“-that'd be basically a handicap for Huggins, and the kid doesn't deserve that,” Midden finishes. “Honestly I had Freddy pegged as never scoring a title again. Bad of me, and that's before it turned out entirely wrong.

“I need to keep my eye out for when people are doing well. Nobody in this company's incapable of a win. Just looks like it sometimes.

“Hell, right now the one person least likely to have a belt two months from now is Tommy here.”

Andrews looks at the company's owner. Cornell regards Mayhem steadily, but after a long moment, he smiles and nods. “No chance at all,” he says, but the Board's Representative shakes his head.

Silence falls for a few moments, then Midden sighs. “The Board have woken up to the amount of online speculation about you having a match with Wolf, Tommy.

“We knew this was going to happen. And it's big money. It's my job to make the match, and now they know what it's worth, they're asking why I haven't done it already.

“I don't have much in the way of answers. Considering I pride myself on doing my job well, I probably shouldn't try to find any.”

Tommy smiles, after a long beat. “OK, well-”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Remo.jpg

Two meaty hands slam down on the other side of the food court's table, and the trio turn to face Remo, who's standing there with a smile.

“Been training, boss man?”

Cornell nods slowly.

“Good,” Remo says. “Crunch Time, we need to settle this. Faith, Tornado, the men with actual titles... I've got a busy time ahead of me, boss man. This is wasting our time.”

Cornell remains silent, and Remo looks across at Andrews. “Not tried me yet. Smart kid.” He grins. “That's good – smarter you are, more worthwhile it's gonna be to try you.”

Champagne Lover vs. El Leon

A very, very good match here, though El Leon has to win every supporter he has by the end of the match over. He takes it to Lover with an intensity out of line with his usual more amused style while Fry recaps the comments to tcw.com which led to Leon's anger, making sure the fans at home know why they're seeing what they're seeing.

Particularly notable is a slingshot huracanrana which clamps Lover's shoulders to the mat for a long two-count, out of absolutely nowhere, but the volley of punches Leon fires off at one point also catches Fry's attention, as he retells the story of retired lucha great Extraordinario, who would finish off his foes with a series of increasingly unstoppable punches he termed the Siempre Peleando.

Lover has to weather the storm, looking for an opening, and toward the end he takes a step one wouldn't expect from a man who trades on his looks; he lashes forward with a headbutt. Leon takes a step backward and a hard lariat puts him down.

“Some people used to tell me that Mexican wrestlers didn't have a hard fight in them,” Springsteen remarks casually. “Didn't believe it then. I hope nobody watching this does now.”

Leon tries to rally, but the tide has turned; eventually, Lover managed to lock down the Champagne Breakfast, forcing a submission.

Amber Allen vs. Gorgon

There's something about the way these two wrestle, the way they move together, that lifts the match, makes it better than the lack of audience in their seats would really deserve – helping the pair send a message.

Azaria hammers home on the announce desk that Allen's preferred match-winner is a figure-four leg lock, a potentially lethal weapon given the Achilles heel of Gorgon's that was identified when the title was lost.

She certainly seems determined to test that, dropkicking the big woman off her vertical base and going to work to weaken her leg, but Gorgon kicks her off every time.

The third or fourth time, the big woman catches her around the throat. A Hydra Bomb follows immediately, and Amber doesn't move at all as Gorgon covers for the victory.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeriLynnStone.jpg

JeriLynn Stone emerges to the House of Stone's theme, heading down to the ring. Gorgon and she stare down on the ramp, but they don't close to combat, instead passing one another.

The current champion collects a microphone and hops into the ring. She smiles, looking around the fans, and climbs to the second rope in one corner, pointing her fingers at the hard camera like a pistol. With a broad grin, she follows up by backflipping off the turnbuckles to stand on the mat, turning a full circle before raising the mic.

“Hard work beats talent,” she begins. “But talent can work hard... and talent can think smart, too.

“You work hard and smart, you're one tough cookie to beat.

“Speaking as TCW Womens Champion, I think I need to be as tough to beat as I can make myself. I'm only the third champion in TCW history. The belt needs the names on its record to look as strong as we can be.

“So I'll answer any challenge that's put in front of me. Now, why I'm out here right now... is two challenges that've shown up pretty recently.

“You girls... you took me and Kate to a standstill. Least, that's what the record says. And you beat your opponents fair and square. Least, that's what the record says.

“Well, I'm not taking you both on at once, considering that I don't think you'd be fair about it. But yesterday I defended my title – which means I don't have to defend it the end of the month. So here's my plan, OK?

“You two against me and Kate again. Pay per view means no time limits. If one of you gets the win, they clearly did better, they get the first shot at me. If we win, one of you eats the fall, clearly does worse, the other gets first shot at me.

“Simple enough, far as I'm concerned. So take your time, ladies – you'll get your shots, and I'll smile and move on to someone who doesn't need to cheat. I have the talent, and I'm not scared of hard work.”

Aaron Andrews & Tommy Cornell vs. Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy.

Looking at these two teams, no one would have dreamed that this was anything but a foregone conclusion.

The fact that on two occasions, the Fly Boys convince the crowd to react, utterly sure that the upset of the year has been pulled off, stands out. Andrews comes crashing to the ground after the duo hit the Spanish Fly, and without Cornell, he would have been pinned; a couple of minutes later, Tommy himself takes a total of four superkicks in sequence before buckling to collapse to the floor.

Nonetheless, Andrews and Cornell have the kind of willingness to jump in for one another that keeps them in the game; so do the Boys, but when Donnie J rolls out of the ring after an Andrews spinebuster, Jimmy eats a Game Breaker, pinned before Donnie can come in to rescue him.

The big screen comes to life to show Chris Rockwell standing on the tarmac outside the Canadian Air Centre himself, wearing a baggy one-piece suit alongside identical ones worn by Rocky Golden and Rick Law. In the background is a small aeroplane, while Rockwell is helping Law strap a parachute pack into place, his own firmly fastened.

He looks across to the camera and grins. “Davis,” he says. “Davis, Davis, Davis...

“You drew a target round my neck, huh?

“You looked at my belt and you decided the Shot at the Top is a little too chancy. Best just get singles gold fast. And so you figure to make an impact by bending a chair round my head.

“You figure you'll get some wins, get a shot at me, and take my belt.

“Ain't so easy, Davis. But if you beat enough people, I'll give you the chance.

“See, that's how you do it. You beat someone up without coming at them fair, you prove nothing,

“Look at Jeremy Stone and Marc DuBois, both trying to prove they have a claim on a title shot. Umaga and Lover, both trying to prove they're better.

“You? Seems you need to prove you have what it takes to beat Chris Rockwell. Now, fact is, you don't – but you need to know that for sure.

“So make a name. Win, and you get title shots, basically, whether the fans can stand you or not.”

He finishes strapping Law's pack on. “That's it,” he says. “Now, shove off – we've got an appointment to keep thirty thousand feet up.”

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone

It's a shame, this, but these two great Canadian talents seem ill at ease facing off in the ring with no tag partners to help smooth out rough edges.

Somehow the match never quite gets up to speed. It's still entertaining enough, but there was enough anticipation in the crowd to make this something special – and that's not how it turns out to be.

Davis has a speed advantage, but it's questionable whether he's skilled enough yet to hang with Jeremy Stone – on the other hand, the fact it's a question is a big step forward in and of itself, for the Triple Threat's reputation.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MarcDuBois-1.jpg

He takes it to Stone, but his assaults, by and large, get shut down – until Marc DuBois appears at ringside.

Jeremy pauses, looking over his upcoming opponent, the man who's challenged him – and Davis nails him with a big dropkick. Jezza tumbles over the top rope and down to the floor.

With Newton and Vibert in Eugene Williams' face, DuBois lays in some hard shots before rolling Stone back into the ring, where Davis is able to secure a submission through his STF hold.

Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert vs. Matthew Keith vs. Troy Tornado

The three stare one another down, all of them aware that they're a target for two others. Tornado grins abruptly, head shifting from side to side as he limbers up, and then the bell rings.

Troy takes two quick, bouncing steps backward. Keith and DuBois, both moving toward him, nearly collide; Keith sees it coming first, dropping back a pace, and he shoves Marc into Tornado, who sidesteps only to eat a kick to the gut from Matt – and a neckbreaker from the Generation Omega man as he recalculates.

With Tornado on the ground, DuBois grins, kicking Matt in the thigh before hitting two chops to the chest. He looks to snapmare the prodigal Keith onto Tornado, but Troy gets his knees up; Matt's back crashes into them before he tumbles off to one side.

Troy scrambles back to his feet and nails DuBois with a discus punch. He tosses Keith out of the ring, then turns back to the master of mind games; grabbing his arm, he yanks it over into an armwrench, then pivots around DuBois in that hold to hit a Russian leg sweep. A quick cover sees DuBois kick out before the count of two; three punches follow, then a backbreaker attempt, but DuBois flips clear, landing on his feet.

Swift kick from DuBois sets up for a superkick, but Troy catches that; he spins Marc around, but rather than a back suplex he simply nails him with a forearm to the back of the head. Hitting the ropes, he shoulderblocks his man down and covers – ONE, TWO, T-

Matthew Keith yanks Tornado out of the ring. The two throw punches for a long moment before DuBois shows his cruiserweight roots, flying over the top rope to wipe them both out with a corkscrew cross-body.

It's a big impact and the crowd are frothing to see more; for a long moment, though, none of the trio stir. DuBois makes it to his feet first, rolling the more-drained Tornado back into the ring – then, with a smirk, he rolls Keith in there as well, taking a couple of tottering steps backward away from the ring to lounge against the guardrail.

Inside the ring, Matt recovers first. He scoops Troy up, snapping off a couple of quick headbutts before whipping the former champion to the ropes, going for a bicycle kick as Tornado rebounds – Tornado manages to duck it, nailing a discus punch in retaliation, followed by a scoop slam as Keith recovers his footing.

Matt rolls back to his feet, out of reach, hits the ropes and comes off with something that seems like a hybrid flying forearm and neckbreaker. The impact's an impressive one, and he looks around the crowd with a satisfied expression from his knees. Instead of going for the cover, however, he drags Troy back to his feet, drills him in the gut with a knee, then sets for the Neutron Plex – Tornado counters out in midair, looking for a tornado DDT – Keith counters again! Blue Thunder Bomb! Cover! ONE, TWO, TH-

Marc DuBois interrupts with a dropkick to Keith's face. As Fry points out, this is something of a masterstroke, as with one economical movement he breaks one pin before landing on Troy Tornado, so that the master of mind games is suddenly making a pin of his own. ONE, TWO – Tornado gets a shoulder up.

DuBois promptly bails from the ring once again with a smirk.

Matt regains his feet first. He looks at the struggling triple-threat champion'... then across to DuBois, and he leaves the ring. On the outside, the pair get into a merry chase while Tornado recovers.

DuBois rounds the corner and stops short, ducking down. As Matt rounds it in turn, he eats a lariat. With glee, Marc vaults up to the apron, slingshotting in onto Tornado with a senton bomb. He quickly covers -

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SeanMcFly.jpg

- but to no avail, as Sean McFly, in payback for DuBois attacking Jeremy Stone earlier, pulls him from the ring. McFly drops him with a stiff left before stepping back, letting Matthew Keith come in fast. The chase resumes...

Tornado is upright now, though, and he stops the chase, timing a baseball slide to the outside, splitting his legs apart as he leaves the ring to drive them both into the guardrail.

DuBois staggers back up and eats a Tornado Driver on the outside, before Troy wheels to face Matthew, meeting his charge with a backdrop that leaves him crashing into the steel steps.

Tornado attempts to drag DuBois back to his feet, but it isn't easy. He manages to roll the master of mind games back into the ring, crawling in himself after him – cover – ONE, TWO, THR- NO!

DuBois gets the shoulder up, at least, and Troy once again tries to pull him to his feet. Just beyond, Keith rolls into the ring, one hand massaging his throat.

Tornado sees the Asian Mist coming, dragging Marc up and spinning him round such that the Generation Omega man takes the spray instead.

As DuBois recoils, Troy grabs the coughing Keith and plants him with a powerbomb, before hitting the ropes. STAR MAKER ON DUBOIS!

Tornado covers. ONE, TWO, THREE!

Saturday 20th October 2009

“Who the hell is Gil Thomas?”

That's been the biggest question in American wrestling this week. Mr Thomas seems to have made a fortune doing other things and he's seen a chance, in Sam Strong looking to sell USPW, to make some money from professional wrestling.

I wish him luck; he's made one savvy move so far, handing the book to James Justice, who definitely has the experience and contacts to make USPW stronger with what he does.

And that's got to be good for wrestling as a whole, no matter what else happens; the more big companies we have, the more wrestling as a whole should thrive.

Ricky nearly applied for the job, it should be noted; there were some tense negotiations at this end, what with the Texas Outlaws rule returning needing RDJ to stay alongside his teammates if it's going to have any impact.

At the same time, he's been talking steadily about plans to retire, and holding the womens' book, while he seems to be enjoying it, isn't quite on the same level as running a company – and Shane Sneer, of course, he's known since he was just starting out in TWL.

What we ended up doing was offering him a contract sent out to a great female worker, someone who has a gimmick tailor-made for her which couldn't be made to work outside TCW. That being done, plus the fact he knows he'll make more money with us for the foreseeable future (word on Gil Thomas isn't detailed, but no one has the impression that he's a huge spender), we managed to resolve that crisis ahead of time.

TCW's going to lose RDJ sooner or later, though. This is a good thing; he's developing an understanding for the book, his ideas for gimmicks are good and don't pander, and he still has plenty left in the tank. In years to come, I could see Ricky revolutionising one of the smaller promotions or even helping SWF back to our level – if they haven't got back themselves, anyway.

People are calling what we're doing a golden age of wrestling. Me, I hope they're wrong. I'm hoping that the money we're sinking into training – more wrestlers than we can possibly use – the funding we're giving some smaller companies, and the slowly-starting spread of those wrestlers back to the open market (Kazuma Narato's nearing the end of his latest contract, and looking at other places to compete. He has a raised profile, and he's stepped up his game a lot over time) will create an actual golden age.

Consider the Fly Boys for a moment. After their match last night, how much more a flagship duo for a small company could they be?

Big-time tag action to open the show as the Kreed look for another win up against Elimination Protocol, who in turn will be looking for a win they can call untainted. Based on prior outings, expect excellent matwork in a high speed style, with all four men working hard for their victory.

One on one technical finesse to follow, as Eric Tyler wrestles his former protege Sean Deeley. It's safe to say that this one will be excellent, and hard-fought, especially with Deeley's International title hopes on the rise.

More tag action is on tap next, with International Champion Edd Stone and long-term ally Champagne Lover uniting once again to take on the Balcony Express. Which side will come through most successfully?

Danny Fonzarelli's fortunes have fallen far of late, but to his credit, he continues to battle on. Throwing out an open challenge backstage, he was rewarded (if that's really the word we want) when Marat Khoklov stepped up to accept his challenge. If Fonzie turns it around this Tuesday, we can safely say a career renaissance would be at hand.

Tag team action pits two major factions within TCW against each other; Koshiro Ino allies with Team KOBRA's problem child Thunder Snake to take on Generation Omega's Wolf Hawkins and Remo Richardson in what will definitely be a hard-hitting battle full of excitement. Can KOBRA's teaching methods stun the world?

More Generation Omega action is scheduled immediately following, as Joey Minnesota teams with Frankie Perez, facing Marc Speed of the Machines and Jeremy Stone of the House of Stone. Personally, we here at the tcw.com offices think this could make match of the night.

And in the main event, three tag teams will collide in non-title action ahead of Crunch Time. The British Lions face off with Darkwave and the Machines in what's sure to be a real hum-dinger - or barnstormer, as Duane Fry would have it.

Elimination Protocol vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

I wouldn't ever rule out someone not making it in TCW....just look at the current World Tag Team Champions The British Lions. I'm sure when they came into TCW, people would have perceived them as being at best lower mid-card fixtures and more likely just job fodder and spat back out when their contracts came up..... teams like Elimination Protocol should put the British Lions up as an example that you can break through in TCW no matter how tough the competition is. All that being said, right now they won't be a match for Kreed yet.

Eric Tyler vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

If Tyler wins it's will be through nefarious means, but I think it's time Deeley was put over fully by Tyler and they move on. Would this really benefit from being saved for the big PPV moment...may as well blow this feud off on TV.

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Eternal Party

Eternal Party are more of a part time team, but both Stone and Lover have been pushed consistently stronger than their opponents.

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Marat Khoklov

Fonzarelli's fortunes involve jobbing and lots of it....Khoklov's been little more than a midcard monster heel afterthought in TCW, but this is the sort of match he should win to remain looking even remotely relevant.

Koshiro Ino & Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily vs. Remo Richardson & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Generation OMEGA are united, despite basically being formed by a bunch of egos, plus their much over than their opponents (for a start the World Champ is lining up on their side). Team KOBRA on the other hand have simmering problems and even without those simmering problems they still wouldn't go over the OMEGA pairing.

Frankie Perez & Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone & Marc Speed

Stone's the most established main eventer in this match, but he's partnered by the 'weakest' man in the match.. I think this goes the way of the OMEGA team and Speed eats the fall, so Stone remains looking strong.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Darkwave vs. Machines

As this is non title, my feeling is that the champions won't pick up the win here...as I have a preference for the Machines winning, I'm going to pick them.

Elimination Protocol vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

Kreed is way higher on the ladders.

Eric Tyler vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

I wouldn´t mind seeing Tyler get the win but I doubt it happen

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Eternal Party

Express have been jobbing so far and I don´t see why that would change here.

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Marat Khoklov

Neither guy haven´t been doing much but Khoklov has the size advantage and that should be enough here.

Koshiro Ino & Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily vs. Remo Richardson & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

I agree with Tigerkinney here, not only are Omega guys more over there is also tension within the Team COBRA.

Frankie Perez & Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone & Marc Speed

Speed looks like the weak link here.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Darkwave vs. Machines

I could see this one going to any of the three teams, but I go with Darkwave simply because I think that they are the ones who would get most out from the victory.

JOBBERS!

Eric Tyler vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

JOBBER TO THE STARS!

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Eternal Party

YET MORE JOBBERS!

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Marat Khoklov

STILL A JOBBER!

Koshiro Ino & Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily vs. Remo Richardson & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Ah, a chance to take caps lock off. I foresee Thunder Snake screwing the pooch and furthering his storyline - by losing!

Frankie Perez & Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone & Marc Speed

P-Dawg can take a fall after losing his partner, Speed needs the boost and Jezza recently took a hard loss.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Darkwave vs. Machines

Draw. Because Draw.

Elimination Protocol vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

Obviously.

Eric Tyler vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

This is kind of a "look how far he's come" match for Deeley. He used to be struggling to get out of Tyler's shadow, but now, you have to expect him to win comfortably, right? And that's the story.

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Eternal Party

Ugh... I guess.

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Marat Khoklov

Fonzarelli would also make sense as a headliner in a small promotion. Just saying.

Koshiro Ino & Thunder Snake w/ Baroness Emily vs. Remo Richardson & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

It could be time for this storyline to break.

Frankie Perez & Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone & Marc Speed

I think Perez is the weak link here, actually. Rumors of a Speed undercard title run have been floating around, and Perez can drift for the moment, as it's unlikely both he AND Newton will get solo pushes.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Darkwave vs. Machines

Non-title, but why wouldn't the Lions win this? They're the Lions, and neither of the other teams has anything compelling going on.

Elimination Protocol vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

Fast and somewhat spectacular, this one, as the Protocol take their turn at showing that they belong listed among the great tag teams of TCW. Their teamwork is improving, and their individual skills have never been in question; after so many matches, they appear to be finally getting the hang of their 'baptism of fire' being tossed into the big leagues.

Their problem, essentially, is that the Kreed are easily on the other end of the scale here. A missile dropkick from Reed takes Jameson out of the match, and Greg Keith locks in the Proton Lock, forcing Warren Technique to submit.

Eric Tyler vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

A slower pace here, but the crowd are hot for this one; the long-awaited one on one showdown between Sean Deeley and his erstwhile mentor, Eric Tyler.

It's slick, a real game of human chess – one of those rare occasions where the metaphor is almost entirely apt. This is all about positioning, leverage, and trying to pull out a move that your opponent can't counter.

With Tyler's greater experience, the early advantage goes to him; however, problems arise for him in short order, when Sean Deeley pulls out a string to his bow that he seldom uses.

Simply put, Deeley is much more agile than Eric Tyler, and he can use that flexibility to open up a wide variety of holds. Tyler soon finds himself in one he can't squirm out of. With Ray Johnson's attention squarely on Tyler's fight not to tap, however, someone else is able to intervene.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddStone_alt6.jpg

Edd Stone reaches out from the side of the ring, grabbing Deeley's foot, braced for leverage, and twists – throwing his balance out. With Sean shocked, Eric feels the motion and immediately counters.

“People forget just how well-trained Edd Stone has been,” Azaria comments. “Just because he doesn't tend to use the array of holds his brothers use, doesn't mean he isn't familiar with them. Count on it – he knew exactly what that would let Tyler do.”

With the fans growing ever more irate, however, Deeley manages to find another counter, twisting free to lock in the Front Choke Lock in the centre of the ring. It's enough, ultimately, to win the match, though Tyler refuses to tap out.

The big screen comes to life. On it, a video follows the action at a nightclub for a few moments, the music pumping out through the arena, before it becomes clear that two of the dancers in shot are Michelle Cox and Serena Starr, the self-styled Leading Lights.

After a few moments, Cox sheds the man who's been bumping and grinding with her, and moves toward the camera. Starr does the same seconds later.

“Challenge accepted,” Cox purrs, grinning slightly.

Starr nods. “You'll never forget it,” she says. “The beginning of the end... mark it on your calendar.

“Don't worry, though, JeriLynn. Even faded glories sometimes find new ground. You'll... well, surely your family can support you until you find something you actually excel at.”

They turn, then, moving back to the music – picking new men to dance with.

Balcony Express w/ Randall Hopkirk vs. Eternal Party

Sterling work here, and it's hard not to agree with Azaria's assertion that “Any other tag division in the world, and the Express would be champions or challenging,” based on their performance in this one.

Edd Stone and Champagne Lover remain one of the most dangerous combinations out there, but the Express are more thoroughly a duo – they hold together, particularly with Hopkirk on the outside calling reminders and warnings – to deliver well, even if at the end of the day they suffer a slick, smooth series of assaults.

Sensing Hopkirk's importance to the Express, not just as a manager but also as a game plan, Edd tries something a little different; vaulting onto Dean Waldorf's shoulders, he springboards off there into a suicide shooting star which brings Hopkirk to earth.

It takes him a few moments to recover – during which Champagne Lover enters the ring to continue the assault on Waldorf. Outside, Edd celebrates wildly, then props Hopkirk up against the ring steps, hitting a baseball slide dropkick to the crotch.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/CanadianElemental.jpg

The Express aren't at all happy – and Canadian Elemental gets between Edd and the downed Hopkirk, causing a standoff.

In the ring, however, the Lover Stunner fells Statler, and Waldorf is tossed over the top rope so the Mexican can ensure the pinfall.

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Marat Khoklov

Poor, poor Danny Fonzarelli. Though he tries – he doesn't look confident of victory as he heads to the ring, less so when he finally squares up against the mountain of muscle – but he throws his punches, he aims kicks, locks up, and in a memorable moment (admittedly, perhaps not for the reasons he was hoping) even tries to control Khoklov's position with an Irish whip, before it's countered.

Marat doesn't move, much, in the early part of the match. Fonzie starts to work the crowd, as best he can, and even starts getting a small, quiet response – mostly kids – before the Russian shifts into action. When he does...

When he does, it's brutal. Marat Khoklov has many faults, but ultimately, he also has a way about him which gets the crowd fascinated, sickly horrified – particularly when there are long periods where he isn't seen much.

The Moscow Lariat finishes the match easily enough.

The big screen is back in action; Horatio Dangerous takes the time to note that, at the close of the last portion of the interview with Zimmy, the rocker had explained he would only go after Wolf Hawkins' championship once the Hawkins/Cornell situation was resolved, and then the clip begins to play.

“Here's the bottom line,” Zimmy continues, “so far as I'm concerned, anyway. You're asking me about a lot of this stuff, and you're flipping between what I'm doing in Darkwave and what I'm doing as me.

“Now, I'm a wrestler. I'm also in a band. My band wrestle. We hang out together... and we want gold.

“It's like that, man. This isn't Generation Omega or the School of Tradition. We look after our friends. We step in on their arguments. Which is fine, because it sure as hell gets us noticed, you know?”

Dangerous nods slowly. “Do you regret your brother not being here?”

“What sort of question's that?” Zimmy rolls his eyes. “Sure, he didn't take advantage of Sammy's advice. But we're still two-time tag champions together. And more than that – he was my tag partner in everything... well, except math and girls... since forever.

“Sure, I miss Randy like crazy sometimes. The road's not the same without him.

“But that's... one of those things. And I'm sure one day we'll get the chance to hook up again.”

“There are people who say you were a better person when you were still teaming with him...” Dangerous offers delicately.

Zimmy shrugs. “You know something, old man?”

“What?”

“Who even cares?”

Dangerous looks flustered. “Well, uh-”

“You make a judgement like that, like I'm going to, what, be shamed into 'flying straight'? Flying straight doesn't work. Grandpa Tito, rest his soul, he's dead and buried. And my mom was a HWA Ho... so I should care if she's nervous why, exactly?”

He gets up. “We're done, Dangerous. You have a good life.”

Remo Richardson & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

A goodish, though not great, match; part of the problem comes from the storyline tension between Ino and Thunder Snake, though equally they're not seen by the crowd as being on the same level as the others.

When Hawkins eats a Kobra's Bite followed by a Cytotoxis, not even Azaria's reminder that Ino dethroned Hawkins for the International Championship makes the crowd sound like they buy into the pinfall – and while it's not Hawkins' own strength that gets him out, but a rescue by Remo, they're right not to.

One thing that does come through is how well Generation Omega can tie themselves together, despite their seemingly contradictory motivations – despite every member of the faction's statements, at one time or another, that they all want what's around Wolf Hawkins' belt.

Nonetheless – and despite Thunder Snake doing more than well for himself – the Team KOBRA crew go down, with Wolf hitting

on Ino to get the win.

Team KOBRA make their way down to ringside, then into the ring. Hawkins and Remo, as if proving a point, have lingered; it's after the ring is surrounded that they swagger out, heading through the crowd as Generation Omega have typically entered in the past.

They're let pass without problem; the frowns on the faces of Team KOBRA are all for one another.

Baroness Emily steps in close, as Ino and Thunder Snake are not adopting the traditional stance, instead head to head, their faces right next to one another, talking low and, to judge by the tension in their body lines, angry.

Emily steps up, putting her own head into the mix, in order to mediate better. It takes a long while before the three part – and while Ino allows himself to receive the bokken shots, Thunder Snake exits the ring before it's his turn, heading for the back.

Frankie Perez & Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Jeremy Stone & Marc Speed

Fast and pretty fun; the Generation Omega duo are adopting a slightly new look, coming in from the crowd, wrestling in street clothes like Rhino Umaga does. Against the very traditionalist garb of Jeremy Stone and the high-tech design theory of Marc Speed's Machinewear, it's a stunning contrast.

There's little in the way of difference in the intensity or expertise that the two teams display; and it has to be said that this one could go either way. Four or five times, it nearly does.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MarcDuBois-1.jpg

In the end, the thing that tips the scales is a fifth participant. Marc DuBois shows up toward the end, getting Jeremy Stone's attention. He's not foolish enough to do anything that would earn Stone's team a DQ victory, but he's very thoroughly there, holding attention.

That, ultimately, allows Joey Minnesota to seize the day, low blowing Marc Speed while Perez holds Eugene Williams' focus, transitioning to the Minnesota Cloverleaf to lock down that move's first submission victory – albeit a tainted one.

The Machines

Troy Tornado comes down before the match begins, taking over the announce table duties from Sara Silver. He chit-chats briefly with Azaria over the questions raised by Zimmy's interview, regarding the driving force of Darkwave, and notes that that's why he's here for this match.

The legal men as the match begins are John Anderson, Merle O'Curle and Zimmy. With the ringing of the bell, Zimmy cruises in toward O'Curle, unleashing a flurry of kicks, which Merle answers after a few stunned moments with a pair of chops followed by a punch.

And Zimmy then falls back, moving further and further across the ring. Merle follows, but suddenly Zimmy turns away and dives out of the ring – and from behind Merle, Sammy Bach springboards across to hit the coast-to-coast-bulldog to bring O'Curle down as the new legal man.

Anderson gives a grudging smile at that, but moves in, cutting off Bach's trickery with a volley of punches, followed by a smooth DDT. He floats through into a cover, but Bach rolls that one through, snagging a leg on the second rope for extra leverage – only for Walter Morgan to kick it loose, allowing Anderson to kick out at a two-count.

Back to a lock-up, then, and Anderson looks for a suplex, but Bach lands on his feet, going for a neckbreaker only to be countered in turn – cutter from Anderson! Cover! ONE, TWO – O'Curle breaks it up, stomping Anderson's head before bodyslamming him onto Bach.

Zimmy promptly soars in over the top rope with a whirlwind kick, laying Merle out, and as John Anderson tags out, the Darkwave man grins, waiting for Brent to step through the ropes with his first leg before dropkicking the other out from under him at the knee. Rolling out of the ring, Zimmy watches Hill, crotched, wince – before Bach grabs him, executing a second-rope hangman's DDT.

He gives Zimmy on the outside a thumbs-up, and Zimmy returns it while Sammy turns to face Walter Morgan.

The lock-up here is tentative by both men; after all, both men know how dangerous the other can be, and they're watching for trouble, watching for a sign. In the end, though, they lock up – and Bach realises, too late, that hold for hold is Morgan's game. He's taken to the mat quickly and, though he tries to counter out, it's not happening – Walter Morgan has a skill with submission holds equalled by few men in wrestling.

Zimmy climbs to the top rope, looking to break it up, and as he takes off Laura Huggins barks out a word; Walter releases the hammerlock, rolling aside, leaving Zimmy's swanton to crash down on Sammy.

For all that, Zimmy springs back into action; Morgan eats a superkick that sends him over the top rope, and Brent Hill gets scooped up onto his shoulders – though he fires off three elbows, slipping back off the shoulders – German suplex, bridged to a pin – ONE, TWO, THRE-

O'Curle breaks this one up. Hill hits him with a Russian leg sweep for his trouble, then turns around into a leg lariat before Zimmy rolls out of the ring, leaving Sammy Bach to shoulderblock O'Curle down as he rises. Zimmy soars from the top rope with a frog splash on O'Curle, and Bach follows it up immediately with an Arabian moonsault. He makes the cover – ONE, TWO, THR-

Walter Morgan pulls Sammy off, only to be cut off by an inverted DDT from Zimmy. Bach turns back to O'Curle, then halts; realising the Machines will have recovered, he turns to face Hill, booting him in the gut, setting up for a piledriver -

John Anderson grabs Bach from behind, dumping him with a German. He scrambles back up, and while Zimmy bulldogs Hill to the mat, Anderson takes a step forward, meeting him with a kick to the face. Anderson wheels, and Merle O'Curle is waiting – lockup – Anderson powers O'Curle into the corner – big chop from Anderson – another – countered – Merle rides him down into a Celtic Wreath -

Zimmy breaks it up with a dropkick. Turning, he goes to hit Morgan with a superkick, but Walter ducks and Ray Johnson takes the impact.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Guide.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Scout.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/GreaseHogg.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/LeadBelly.jpg

It doesn't take long, after that, for meltdown to happen. Morgan is quickly speared out of his boots by Guide of the New Wave, and as the Wave set up for the Wave of Mutilation on him, the Easy Riders enter the ring. A big boot wipes out Bach as he struggles back to his feet, and Zimmy barely escapes an Emergency Stop.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TexasHangman.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickyDaleJohnson.jpg

The crowd start cheering not long afterward, with it easy to see why as Texas Pete and Ricky Dale Johnson slide into the ring. Scout eats a Southern Justice, then Pete delivers the Lone Star Drop on Billy Fonda before being taken down by a Hopper lariat. Guide looks for a second Guided Missile, but O'Curle catches him this time – not being the target, he's able to blindside the focused grappler, bringing him to the mat early with something like a jumping DDT.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TroyTornado_nacht6.jpg

Sammy Bach superkicks RDJ out of the ring, and he takes a long moment to pose – which nearly provides the seeds of his own undoing; Troy Tornado has set aside his headset and he goes for the Star Maker, but Zimmy manages to shove Bach clear; Tornado instead wipes out Peter Hopper.

Zimmy hits the ropes, coming back to nail O'Curle with the Blood Rush. He covers, hooking the second rope with his feet – ONE, TWO, THREE!

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SammyBach_alt1.jpg

Bach rolls out of the ring, stepping close to Bruce. He talks to Bruce for a long moment as the staredown continues and, meanwhile, as the zebra herd fill the ring, looking to separate the combatants.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ZimmyBumfhole_alt1.jpg

After maybe thirty seconds of Bach's voice in his ear Jack hits the ring. He and Troy exchange punches, then Bruce gets the better of him. He sets for the New York Minute – Troy shoves him off – Blood Rush from Zimmy puts Tornado down while his attention's elsewhere!

With the furore in the ring finally starting to settle down, something almost unheard of happens.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MerleOCurle_jhd3.jpg

Merle O'Curle has a microphone in his hand; in his other hand, he has the Tag Team Championship belt.

Silence starts to fall as he raises the microphone to his lips.

He points at Tornado. “World champ'n,” he says, then points again, this time at Jack Bruce. “World Champ'n.” Ricky Dale Johnson. “World champ'n.

“T'belt, it's a big feckin' thing. Important. But Oi am sick and tired o' folk sayin' that's all thet matters – t'me, this right here is all as important as t' World Heavyweight Championship. T' Walt, too – an' thet world champ'n,” he continues, pointing to RDJ – wants t'get his hands on it.

“Det's all Oi got t'say. Think about't – ye know we fight jest as hard. Y'know ye cheer as much.

“This belt means somethin'. Me an' Walt mean somethin'. We're t' best in't' wurruld.”

Steve Smith – Sara Silver – Autumn Gleeson

  • Canadian Elemental defeated Nathan Priest in a fast-paced opener seen by much of the crowd as a foregone conclusion. (Rating: C+)
  • Edd Stone took over as ring announcer, delivering a fairly harsh description of Canadian Elemental and naming him a future four-time loser in his bid for the International Championship.
  • Eric Tyler and Freddy Huggins united to defeat International Air, Huggins pinning Mr. Lucha III off the HugginDriver. (Rating: B)
  • The New Wave then added another victory to their resume when Scout forced Harry Allen of the Young Guns to tap out. (Rating: B)
  • Eddie Peak annihilated Julian Watson in a match the crowd really got behind. (Rating: B+)
  • Peak then cut a promo saying that, in his absence, he'd visited an old friend... and certain people in this company were about to find their Nemesis.
  • Elimination Protocol continue to wrestle better and better, but they didn't get their second victory, as the Texas Outlaws combination of RDJ and Texas Pete notched up another win, RDJ pinning Kirk Jameson. (Rating: B)
  • Matthew Keith, interviewed by Autumn Gleeson, revealed that he has a plan to get past Johnny Bloodstone. He hinted at 'inside information'.
  • Matthew's father Sam was then seen in competition, narrowly forcing Frankie Perez to tap out. (Rating: B)
  • In the main event, Rick Law went head to head with Davis Wayne Newton. The 'Triple Threat' almost won the day, but a distraction by Jeremy Stone evened the Stone patriarch's score with the young turk while allowing Law to hit the Long Arm of the Law for victory. (Rating: B+)

Tag team action will open this Saturday, as Tooth & Claw will look to impress against the irregular tandem of the Bulldozer and the Dragon. We expect this to be a fun match to start the show with!

Fox Mask looks to make a big notch on his belt after a recent win - and that big notch belongs to former World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Baine. The big guy seems likely to have this well in hand, but word has it that Fox Mask has been training dilligently.

One on one action follows as Johnny Bloodstone will take on Julian Watson. Expect technical excellence and a useful showcase ahead of this Sunday for how the Bloodstone/Matthew Keith match may shape up.

Six-man action is on tap afterward; the Eternal Party align with Gorgon to take on the unusual trio of Giant Tana, Rhino Umaga and JeriLynn Stone. With this variety of styles it should at least be interesting to watch.

Jack Marlowe hasn't wrestled a singles match in quite some time. Ahead of his potential match with Rick Law Sunday, he's requested a warm-up to make sure his hand's in - and El Leon is his opponent. A very different style, but it may be possible to read the upcoming result from the outcome of this contest...

In tag team action, the Elite Express face a one-time pairing, but a one-time pairing with skill and reputation; Chris Rockwell and Sean McFly will combine in our sleeper tip for match of the night!

Last but not least we have triple-threat competition in the offing; Troy Tornado's two opponents will be the remaining member of Generation Omega, Joey Minnesota, and the first ever Hard-Hitting Champion, Sam Keith.

Prediction Key:

Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Mikey 'the Dragon' James vs. Tooth & Claw

Fox Mask vs. Tyson Baine

Johnny Bloodstone w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Julian Watson

Eternal Party & Gorgon vs. Giant Tana, JeriLynn Stone & Rhino Umaga

El Leon vs. Jack Marlowe

Elite Express vs. Chris Rockwell & Sean McFly

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Troy Tornado

Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Mikey 'the Dragon' James vs. Tooth & Claw

Smith and James are doing lot more.

Fox Mask vs. Tyson Baine

Baine might be lost in the shuffle but Fox Mask hasn´t showed anything yet either so monster heel gets the win.

Johnny Bloodstone w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Julian Watson

This one is pretty close to squash.

Eternal Party & Gorgon vs. Giant Tana, JeriLynn Stone & Rhino Umaga

Heel side just looks more impressive to me and they likely work better together too.

El Leon vs. Jack Marlowe

Leon has been jobber so far and I doubt that changes here.

Elite Express vs. Chris Rockwell & Sean McFly

McFly is the biggest name here and I think he´s big enough name to cancel the tag experience advantage that Elite Express has.

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Troy Tornado

Tornado gets another win before his match with Hawkins.

Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Mikey 'the Dragon' James vs. Tooth & Claw

JOBBERS!

Fox Mask vs. Tyson Baine

JOBBER!

But then again, I could be wrong. Does Foxy's push merit going over the elder giant?

Johnny Bloodstone w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Julian Watson

JOBBER!

Eternal Party & Gorgon vs. Giant Tana, JeriLynn Stone & Rhino Umaga

Wishful thinking, but I want to see Tana take a victory.

El Leon vs. Jack Marlowe

Not quite a jobber, but certainly sat lower on the pecking order.

Elite Express vs. Chris Rockwell & Sean McFly

Ouch... sorry, boys. You're just outclassed.

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Troy Tornado

Who's the triple-threat champion?

<p>Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Mikey 'the Dragon' James vs. Tooth & Claw</p><p> </p><p>

Marlowe's 'friends' came in with a fairly strong push, I don't see them losing to Tooth & Claw- I didn't know that pair of jobbers still existed?</p><p> </p><p>

<em>No disrespect to Fox Mask, but if Baine loses this he might as well head off to the retirement home..otherwise known as USPW</em> <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Coin flip of an intergender six person tag... I think Zergon has it right though that the heels just look to be more united as a unit and that should give them the edge.</em> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>El Leon has alot of talent, he also has alot of talent at making his opponents look good.</em> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>In some ways I would like to think that the proper team would have the edge here, but I'm afraid Elite Express just aren't quite over enough to justify going over an all-star pairing like Rockwell (or more to the point) and McFly. Bulldozer & the Dragon vs. Tooth & Claw</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A heck of an improvement in performance from*Tooth & Claw over time, it has to be said; they've made their return from training elsewhere in tip-top shape, and their flying gives them a serious speed advantage over their opponents.</p><p> </p><p>

On the other hand, the younger Enforcers are not to be sniffed at either, though the new moves Tooth & Claw have started to deploy – very Japanese in style, obviously puroresu influenced – definitely seem to be having an effect. </p><p> </p><p>

Accordingly, the back-and-fourth nature of the contest raises some surprise but mostly draws attention and applause from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Lobo Blanco is the man who slips, in the end, which allows Mikey to hit his patented Dragon Whip, securing the pinfall – but this one was all about who made the first mistake.</p><p>

Fox Mask vs. Tyson Baine</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It's no great surprise to anyone, after that match is over, that this contest is considered, by many in attendance, nothing more than an excuse to hit the concession stands and refresh their drinks ahead of other things; Baine's victory is easily predictable, but ultimately, the only part of a Baine/cruiserweight match that catches any attention and creates any excitement is the excitement over what the cruiserweight will do.</p><p> </p><p>

And Fox Mask has little support within the TCW fanbase; not only that, but while he's more or less an unknown he's not an exciting unknown, one whom the fans can get excited about seeing for the first time; he's an unknown because he's wrestled, on TV, only rarely, and long stints in development mean that even the house show faithful haven't seen him much more often.</p><p> </p><p>

All of which is a roundabout way of saying that the amount of shock in those audience members watching is not reflected by a great deal of noise, as there simply aren't many watching when Fox Mask counters out of the Hades Bomb, hitting an Osaka Street Cutter he's dubbed the Fox Flip Off DDT – and gets the pin!</p><p>

<em>Break Stuff</em> is playing loudly as Johnny Bloodstone, the Blonde Bombshell on his arm, makes his way to the ring for the next match. There's a certain swagger to Bloodstone's walk for this one, a definite confidence as to the outcome of his coming match – something Fry points out could be his downfall, considering the result we've just seen.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MatthewKeith.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

He steps into the ring – and his music cuts off abruptly. The big screen stops playing his highlight video – and Matthew Keith appears, grinning wildly, in his place.</p><p> </p><p>

“Tomorrow it's you and me, Johnny,” he says. “And Amy, too. But I've got news, Johnny. I want this win – and I've found a way to get it.”</p><p> </p><p>

The Blonde Bombshell pulls Bloodstone's entrance robe over his head, plants a stilettoed foot in his crotch, and leaves the ring, with Matthew Keith grinning wider.</p><p> </p><p>

Smiling, Amy Roberts blows a kiss at the big screen.</p><p>

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Julian Watson</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Julian Watson rushes the ring, but by the time he gets there Bloodstone's untangled himself from the robe. He meets Watson in a rage, that famous fury from his pre-TCW days blazing through, and with absolutely no science to it, he destroys the former Enforcer in a whirl of fury and violence.</p><p> </p><p>

By the end, Watson is bleeding heavily, and Bloodstone repeatedly piledrives him before finally pinning him, making a statement by pinning with one foot – across Watson's throat.</p><p>

<em>Power</em> thunders through the speakers in the arena as TCW comes back from commercial break. Rhino Umaga, shirtless, wearing jeans and sneakers, struts down to the ring, walking tall and proud.</p><p> </p><p>

He collects a microphone from the ring announcer, rolling into the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

“My cousin Tana,” he begins, “don't see eye to eye with me. I get in the ring, I've got a target across from me, and there's one thing I wanna do – get the win.</p><p> </p><p>

“Tana, though, he wants to have some fun with it. He's got the size to be sure of the win, and he likes to have some fun. Works for him; I can respect that.</p><p> </p><p>

“JeriLynn works hard, but she likes to have fun to. My fun comes outside the ring; later on tonight I'm sure I'll see some of you in the clubs round here, comes time to unwind.</p><p> </p><p>

“Which is gonna be just after this. Everyone here got somethin' to prove, and I plan to finish it one on one tomorrow... but he called my whole race stupid. So tonight, let's get started on provin' it...”</p><p>

Eternal Party & Gorgon vs. Giant Tana, JeriLynn Stone & Rhino Umaga</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The actual match is frantic and extremely well received by the fans in attendance. Everyone is looking to do something major; Rhino Umaga wakes the crowd up early on, bringing Gorgon crashing to the mat with his signature second-rope powerslam.</p><p> </p><p>

Despite the impact, however, he can't get the pinfall, as the behemoth gets her shoulder up after the count of two. The punch exchange that follows is crisp and entertaining, but soon enough Umaga ducks out, wisely conserving his energies for the next match. </p><p> </p><p>

Tana tries his best, but Gorgon has power too, hitting the superheavyweight with the Hydra Bomb – where he's rescued from a pinfall of his own by a From Canada With Love diving headbutt. JeriLynn looks to return to her submission assault on Gorgon's ankle, only for her uncle to intervene with an Edd-Renaline Shot superkick. </p><p> </p><p>

Champagne Lover adds a splash, and Rhino Umaga breaks it up, whipping Eternal Party both into a corner where Tana can hit the Big Fat Samoan Squash – but at this stage, with all six wrestlers in the ring simultaneously, none willing to leave, Eugene Williams is forced to call the bout a no contest.</p><p>

El Leon vs. Jack Marlowe</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Something of an exhibition match here, as Jack Marlowe has his first singles match in quite some time, just ahead of a contest – if it goes ahead – which could have serious ramifications for his career and Rick Law's.</p><p> </p><p>

El Leon has been used as a measuring stick before, as an opponent one can use to demonstrate one's abilities – and it didn't go terribly well for the man who did it, as the courageous luchador showed true fire. </p><p> </p><p>

Here, he does so again – but Marlowe still has the match well in hand, shutting him down with solid right hands, ultimately putting Leon away with a Jackhammer after catching him off a springboard splash.</p><p>

<em>My Hero</em> hits, and Marlowe turns away from Leon to face the entry ramp as Rick Law emerges, microphone in hand.</p><p> </p><p>

He paces back and forth at the top of the ramp, staring Marlowe down, before raising his microphone to speak.</p><p> </p><p>

“You... want... my Badge of Honor match rights,” he says.</p><p> </p><p>

Marlowe simply nods.</p><p> </p><p>

“That's it?” Law returns, incredulous. “You've been chasing me three or four months, getting me to chase you... hell, by now you could have a title, and I could've been in Malice in Chains, maybe Champion by now...” He laughs, confused, almost nervous.</p><p> </p><p>

“Seems kind of crazy to me, Jack. I'll be honest... I thought this HAD to be personal. You know, last month I was phoning round all the other companies who've paid me to wrestle... checking they didn't pick me instead of you or something?</p><p> </p><p>

“Seriously – the match rights mean that much to you? Why?”</p><p> </p><p>

Marlowe turns to glare at the ring announcer, who pales, rolling his microphone across the ring floor toward the victorious Enforcer.</p><p> </p><p>

“Money,” Marlowe says.</p><p> </p><p>

“...Money?”</p><p> </p><p>

“You want a title? Sure. You want to be seen to be the best. Me, I don't work that way.</p><p> </p><p>

“I want to make as much as I can, quick as I can, and get outta here. I get those rights, I can hire out the main events. I can take a commission to tear someone apart... and make sure he's gonna face me.</p><p> </p><p>

“You didn't do anything to me. Matter of fact, you don't matter that much.</p><p> </p><p>

“Man up and take me on. We both know you want to.”</p><p> </p><p>

“A plan like that,” Law says slowly, his voice dangerously quiet, “doesn't deserve better'n turning you down, letting you find out what it'd be like for Chris and Rocky to take matters into their own hands.</p><p> </p><p>

“Lucky for you... that's not something I see as all that fair.</p><p> </p><p>

Elite Express vs. Chris Rockwell & Sean McFly</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

And speaking of Chris Rockwell...</p><p> </p><p>

He and McFly have their issues as a team. It's not a question of flawed timing, or for that matter anything that hurts the match as a whole. But neither of them is willing to take a back seat, and while McFly can coexist with someone like Tornado, Rockwell has a different, more aggressive attitude to the tags.</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, the Express are an oiled machine – the kind of comparison the announcers are audibly trying to avoid, thanks to the existence of, well, the Machines. </p><p> </p><p>

It looks like it'll be all but impossible for the thrown-together team to get a win through their opposition's teamwork – they might get the upper hand at any point it's one-on-one, but the Express play the game to perfection, tagging out easily, bailing from the ring to bring one another in, and double-teaming to get the advantage back.</p><p> </p><p>

The contest looks like it's going to stalemate – a major forward statement for the Express – until someone comes over the guardrail at the sixteen minute mark.</p><p>

Joey Minnesota w/ Phil Vibert vs. Sam Keith vs. Troy Tornado</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Tornado attacks Minnesota to start, moving fast, and it turns into a one-upmanship sequence with Keith and Troy trying to execute a nastier punch on the Generation Omega man, now attired in jeans, Converse, and no shirt as his group has recently shifted to favouring.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey ducks a punch from Sam and gets out of the corner, firing back with enthusiasm on his attackers, before hitting the ropes and coming in with a charge. Almost reflexively, Sam and Troy meet him with a backdrop, before Sam spots an opening. Troy gets chopped back into the corner before managing to stop one, firing back hard enough to drive his tormentor back a few feet.</p><p> </p><p>

An explosive dropkick puts Keith on his back before Troy gets blindsided, Minnesota tossing him out through the ropes and meeting the living legend as he regains his feet with a volley of punches, then a big boot to put him down.</p><p> </p><p>

Sam scrambles up and back, keeping out of reach of his oncoming opponent. Blocking another punch, he moves in fast, nailing an inverted atomic drop before taking the opportunity to hit a neckbreaker. </p><p> </p><p>

With both men back on their feet, Joey sees Troy back up to the second rope. A headbutt stuns Sam and he whips the living legend into the former 'triple threat champion', sending Troy crashing back down to the floor – though he lands on his feet this time, sliding back in. Joey eats a lariat and a discus punch, then Sam Keith gets a side headlock into a back suplex.</p><p> </p><p>

He pulls Sam back to his feet and tries for another discus lariat – Sam blocks it, and Troy promptly chops him down instead before hitting a side kick on Minnesota as Joey gets ready to interfere.</p><p> </p><p>

Keith comes back with chops, volleying them into Troy's chest, but the Painful Procedure frontman, having been driven back, nails another dropkick, this one sending Sam Keith over the top rope and to the floor. Troy pumps his fists in celebration, grinning wildly, and turns around – missile shoulderblock from Minnesota takes him down! </p><p> </p><p>

Joey goes back to the top, but Troy kips up fast and vaults up after him, leading to a top rope slugfest. Joey cuts it off in the end by vaulting up and nailing a supercanrana back into the ring. With the crowd roaring in frustration, he crawls for the cover, but Sam Keith snags his ankle as he comes back in.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey stomps at Sam's hand, breaking his grip, and makes it to his feet before Sam's off his knees. He goes for another big boot, but this time Sam ducks his head, catching the kick, and powers up into an electric chair drop. He shifts position to cover – ONE, TWO, T- NO!</p><p> </p><p>

Frustrated, Sam changes tack, firing down punches on the one man Vibert kept from his DaVE days., Punch after punch rains down, but Joey rallies – Minnesota Salute! Joey grabs the legs, transitioning into a Minnesota Cloverleaf, looking for a submission victory over the legend.</p><p> </p><p>

Troy suddenly and explosively re-enters the picture, breaking the hold and bringing Joey down with a Star Maker. Another cover – one, two – no! Joey kicks out again, and Troy sets up for the Tornado Driver – but Sam Keith's back up and, looking to get back in the match, he chop blocks Troy down and meets Joey with a boot to the gut and a DDT.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey powers back to his feet, whipping Sam chest-first into the turnbuckle, and scoops Troy onto his shoulders for the Empire Spiral – only for Troy to shove him off toward the same turnbuckle. Keith meets him with an attempted Proton Lock, but Joey kicks him off, sending Sam into the middle of the ring where Troy's waiting with a Tornado Driver. </p><p> </p><p>

He moves as if to cover, but then looks up, sees Joey on his feet, and thinks better of it. A discus punch sets up a big suplex and Troy springs to the top rope, soaring off in a beautiful moonsault. The impact gets the crowd roaring and he moves to cover – ONE, TWO, TH- NO!</p><p> </p><p>

Frustrated, Troy picks Joey up again and looks for an exploder suplex. Counter! Minnesota Salute! Empire Spiral! Cover! ONE, TWO, THRE- Sam Keith breaks it up with a desperate dive.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey snarls on the close-up camera and opens up on Keith. Punches, kicks, knees, chops, uppercuts, elbows, and finally a massive German suplex. Once again he looks for the Minnesota Cloverleaf, but he cuts himself off partway – spins, dropping to one knee – drives his fist into the gut of the oncoming Tornado, and looks for another Empire Spiral.</p><p> </p><p>

Rather than slip out the back, this time Troy rolls with it, bringing Joey to the mat in a massive tornado DDT. He covers again – ONE, TWO, THRE- Minnesota gets his shoulder up, and Troy's expression shifts into exasperation. </p><p> </p><p>

Nodding to himself, he pulls Joey back up and tosses him from the ring as Sam Keith makes it back to his feet behind him.</p><p> </p><p>

Sam takes two steps forward – lays a hand on Tornado's shoulder – WHIRLWIND KICK!</p><p> </p><p>

Troy nails the backflip kick perfectly and scurries to cover – ONE, TWO, THREE!</p><p>

Moments later, while Troy's celebrating, Phil Vibert is in the ring, microphone in hand.</p><p> </p><p>

“Congratulations,” he says. “But I've got some bad news for tomorrow.</p><p> </p><p>

“See, tomorrow, you're up against the World Heavyweight Champion – and you sure as hell won't be able to beat him. And without his backup, I figure Art Reed won't be able to either – hell, his whole stable's in trouble right now.</p><p> </p><p>

“Let me do you a favour – and I'm not just talking about you, Troy,” he turns, facing the entranceway, and points into it, “-I'm talking about all the guys in there, too. Troy won't beat us. Art won't beat us. Rockwell won't, Cornell won't. Andrews won't.</p><p> </p><p>

“The plain facts are that Generation Omega will win where it counts unless we choose not to – like Davis chose to free himself up ahead of Malice in Wonderland. Forget the tornado – we're the storm. And nobody's going to weather that storm.”</p><p> </p><p>
