It was Minnesota who said that, yes, to explain his actions during the Reed/Keith match.

As with a lot of things in this diary, we continue to build toward payoff.

(Oh, and to be fair - Sam didn't really start to fade out until Generation Omega formed. His big beef was with the Syndicate, after all.)

That heel disproves of violence against women. This veteran face is having issues in holding his own with the new blood as of late, and he's taking to diversifying his options in the ring...
All I know is, in the world I'm currently running to 2020 (or 2025?) to start a future-era game, one of TCW's biggest stars is Sean McFly.

No, wait, excuse me.

One of TCW's biggest stars is OFFICER McFly.

At least John Greed doesn't have to dress up like a fake cop. (Or get hit by Tommy Cornell.)

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

It's killing me to pick against Reed and Keith. But right now we have a story about Reed helping the Keiths out, offering to step aside, and Matthew acting like a jerk. It's a better story if there's a bit of a question about whether the new team really IS better off...

Freddy Huggins vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Payoff on this particular bit may be forthcoming...

Cherry Bomb vs. Kate Dangerous

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

- I think the Lions go over here as KReed starts to show some post-belt blues.

Freddy Huggins vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

- I love Huggins and I forgot he was on the roster. Deeley has a few storylines of potential. Huggins still has a job!

Cherry Bomb vs. Kate Dangerous

- I don't care for Darkwave but Cheery Cherry Bomb needs to look competitive at least. Dangerous will likely do her daddy proud by jobbing around the roster until North America comes to respect the women's division.

Acid Dragon w/ Laura Huggins vs. Rising Stars

- Who's the Dragon-half of Acid Dragon? I'm guessing that UK one? The Stars ARE on the rise, while AD are just there.

Chris Rockwell vs. Matthew Keith

- I dig the embittered twin storyline, watching Matthew outperform his brother and his 'replacement' makes it hard for me to hate him.

Eddie Peak vs. Jeremy Stone

- This will probably end up being tossed out. As I can't help but imagine The Last Stable of Wrestling lets these two go the distance. Or they might and THEN hit the ring. I'm guessing they're going to mess with things... because... they... can.

Kreed w/ Blonde Bombshell

Another lockup between two teams that are all about the in-ring action. As you'd expect – and certainly as everyone in Doyle Lane clearly anticipates – this is a fantastic opening contest; in point of fact, the slick back-and-forth, the smooth tags, the intelligent double-teams, and the array of counters add together into something that will not be outmatched all night.

Everything Kreed try, the Lions have an answer for. Every new and dangerous hold the Lions break out, Kreed are there for each other to break up.

Walter Morgan continues to demonstrate what Azaria calls “probably the best and biggest range and mastery of submission holds of any wrestler without the surname Stone, and I might not place him at the bottom of that list, either,” though the veteran announcer does also take that moment to single out for praise “a young Japanese competitor currently working for a Califonria promotion by the name of Nichiren Amagawa.”

And, in the end, neither the Lions nor Kreed can break through and get the victory before the twenty minutes have ticked by.

Both teams line up facing each other, visibly exhausted, and their managers climb into the ring to stand beside them. There's a long, tense moment – then O'Curle and Keith see Newton and Perez slide into the ring in street clothes, having entered from the crowd, but still carrying their title belts that can be used as weapons. Greg steps in front of the Bombshell, Reed turns to check elsewhere – and yes, here come DuBois and Remo and Hawkins.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

Kreed and the Lions bail as swiftly as they can while Generation Omega take over the ring. Phil Vibert hops the crowd barrier next, collecting a microphone as he does so.

“Ken,” he begins. “Mind if we have a word?”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MayhemMidden.jpg

After a long moment, Shout at the Devil begins to play and Mayhem Midden emerges. “I'm right here,” he says. “Oh, and congratulations on not having racked up any more fines Sunday or Monday night.”

Vibert frowns. Hawkins glowers. DuBois sneers. GenOme glare. Remo? It don't matter to Remo.

“You're seriously pushing the envelope of what you can get away with, Midden,” he says. “I'm having a motion put together to no-confidence you and get the board to replace you.” A pause. “Possibly even with me.”

Midden shrugs. “You didn't call me out here just to rant about this crap,” he says, reasonably equably. “So what did you call me out here for?”

“I've found somewhere you really can't get away with,” Vibert grins. “In TCW, no competitor can ever be forced to wrestle two matches in one night – and yet, knowing that all five members of Generation Omega would be busy, you went ahead and made a match that forces one of them to.”

Midden shrugs. “Three possibilities, Phil,” he says. “No, four. Either Generation Omega can climb down off your egotistical high horse and find someone else to sub in for Marc in the Test of Steel – although I don't think we have anyone crazy enough – or you persuade Remo to get in the Test of Steel on his own – although I don't think he's crazy enough – or one of you volunteers to pull double duty – or my preferred outcome.

“You can always forfeit the match, Phil.”

Freddy Huggins vs. Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Considering how little Huggins has had to do these past few months, the crowd remain into this contest throughout. It's speed against savvy as Deeley tries to stop Freddy from setting the pace, from taking to the air, and from unleashing the Huggins Kiss, none of which is so easy as it seems.

Freddy seems to sense just how important this contest could be for him, however, and fires off almost everything. The crowd slowly remember why it was that Huggins was once a more important player, and by the time he ascends to the top rope, prepping for his signature flying kneedrop, the anticipation is palpable.

He soars from the top, but Deeley manages, just about, to roll clear, and on rolling back in, he secures the injured leg, torquing it around in a truly painful leglock. Freddy struggles, reaching the ropes at least once, but Deeley shifts position, prying Freddy loose from the ropes again and leaving him with no way to escape.

Cherry Bomb vs. Kate Dangerous

The crowd's reaction to this is one of the loudest any womens' match in TCW history, throughout – it starts with simple reaction to the two women, both of whom have developed a pretty high profile within the company, and as they begin a rolling brawl after the style of RDJ/Cornell, if not as slick, the crowd reaction comes up strongly.

Cherry Bomb makes it clear why Azaria has been so eager to see her in action in recent weeks, hammering Dangerous with rights and lefts, hitting some big suplexes and a number of slams. Kate, for her part, rolls through on a number of the throws and returns punch for punch, giving as good as she gets, changing pace with the occasional dropkick and even a backflip DDT. Nonetheless, whenever Kate covers, the Bomb is able to not just kick out but power out.

On one occasion, in fact, the Bomb rises to her feet while holding on to Dangerous, laying her out with a massive powerbomb Azaria calls as the Cherry Bomb.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/HarryAllen_Grunge3.jpg

Before she has a chance to cover, however, she's taken down herself – out of nowhere, Harry Allen has appeared to land the Gunslinger's Revenge. Ray Johnson recovers from a misthrown punch to see neither woman moving, but it's Kate Dangerous who stirs first, and that is – just barely – enough to get the pinfall.

Harry Allen is picking himself up from the outside when Zimmy blindsides him, running along the guardrail to come off with a swift Blood Rush to the temple. The rest of Darkwave are not far behind, the masked man using the top rope to soar off and drop a corkscrew legdrop across Allen's throat.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TroyTornado_nacht6.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SteveGumble_Grunge2.jpg

Jack Bruce, meanwhile, and Sammy Bach help Cherry Bomb back to her feet, and as Zimmy picks Allen up for more he's wiped out by a Star Maker on the charge from Troy Tornado. Steve Gumble protects his lead singer from assault by blocking off Bruce's approach, standing proud, and for a moment, we get a staredown between the two.

Bach breaks from the ring, and as Gumble helps his tag partner up, Tornado nervously follows his progress, checking to see if they're being flanked. Instead, he returns with a microphone, Painful Procedure on the floor, Darkwave in the ring.

“It's amazing, you know,” Bach breathes into the microphone, eyes half-lidded, his usual (when-talking) personification of the afterglow. “You listen to the fans and they'd tell you, they'd swear, the Young Guns are reliable. Honorable. For all they're rockstars, they're... processed. Predictable.

“They're safe. They won't let you down. They won't blow your minds, either, but that's all part of it. The manufactured rock experience.” He half-smiles; never does anything more than half, not when he's talking.

On the outside, Painful Procedure stare and glower.

“But maybe... maybe you're not so honourable. Maybe you're not so safe, not so processed and predictable.

“I laughed when you called yourselves balls to the wall... but now, Harry, you took matters into your own hands. Not with a man, even, and while the woman is tough...” He raises a finger lazily and wags it. “Tut-tut-tut... but maybe, just maybe, you've heart enough inside you. Maybe you can understand what true rock stars know, that it comes from within, that it's time to let go of convention.

“I hope so. Your destruction will be swift and unsatisfying, otherwise.”

Acid Dragon w/ Laura Huggins vs. Rising Stars

UK Dragon and Acid are clear underdogs coming into this, but that doesn't stop Laura Huggins looking confident as she comes to the ring – and perhaps her clients do, too, but with that pair's masks it's very difficult to tell.

The Stars, on the other hand...

Aaron looks thoughtful to the point of distraction as he comes down, and one hand is resting against the faceplate of his International title belt, thumb tapping against it like a nervous tic. Minnesota looks frustrated, though, hands on hips and obviously none too happy.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

And as the bell rings, Phil Vibert appears at ringside, spiral-bound notebook in hand. “One thing's for sure,” Doakes deadpans. “If Vibert's willing to come on down alone, Bloodstone can not be in the building.”

The Stars have a serious issue communicating inside the ring, and both of them spend a lot of time looking thoughtfully at the manager of GenOme, who, on catching either of them looking, simply offers a smile – an open and honest smile – and a respectful nod.

Acid's body language shifts, and changes, and gradually, as he continues to fight and adapt, Joey Minnesota finds himself wrestling his own masked mirror image. When Acid goes for the Minnesota Salute it even gets something of a pop, but Joey blocks the move and hits the real thing.

Instead of going for the pin, however, he points at Andrews, points at Acid, then points at Vibert, and tags out.

Andrews looks concerned, but he comes in – and, as he seems to have been bidden, he tries to Game Breaker Acid – who twists in his grip, rolls free, and lands something like a Party's Over! An Edd-esque bounce up later, Acid tries a standing moonsault to confirm things – but Andrews rolls free, and Acid gets nothing but canvas.

Andrews shoots him into the ropes, catches him on the way back, gets the spinebuster, then whips him back to his corner. He beckons to the UK Dragon, who bravely tags himself in, comes for Andrews, and -

For a couple of minutes there the International Champion is run ragged, apparently still feeling the effects of the Party's Over, but when Dragon soars from the second rope, Andrews catches him on his shoulders, getting the Game Breaker.

For all that the Stars haven't seen eye to eye all match, Minnesota comes in to cut Acid off, and Andrews scores the pinfall.

Chris Rockwell vs. Matthew Keith

There's no question, really, after people have seen these two talented wrestlers lock up, that as well as having talent in common they also connect on enough levels that the matchup becomes something special. In a couple of years, perhaps, this could be the kind of match that might headline a pay-per-view – but for right now, it's not quite perfect.

Keith and Rockwell put together a technical exhibition over the first fourteen minutes, but as time drags on, Matt gets a little frustrated at his own inability to put Rockwell away.

He promptly pivots on his heel and lashes out. The sound of the discus slap echoes through the arena, momentarily silencing the crowd, and Rockwell's temper is visible for a few moments – but then he shakes his head and takes Keith down with a double-leg, going back to the technical style.

Keith rolls through the next hold and gets straight to work, once again trying to turn this into a cat toying with a mouse, but nonetheless, it's far from perfect, and Rockwell holds it together...and together... and when Matt, his arsenal of mind games exhausted, goes for another slap Rockwell catches the hand, and leaps and twists -

The Furusawa Armbar is locked in! Matt tries for a few moments to escape, but quickly taps, looking to preserve his arm.

Chris turns away, raising his hands in satisfaction – and Keith promptly low blows him from behind, then twists him around and lands the Neutron Plex.

Hopping up and snarling furiously, Matt dropkicks a recovering Rockwell in the fact. Ray Johnson tries to break it up, but the threat of a closed fist sees him back out, bailing from the ring with almost graceless speed.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RockyGolden_PS2.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickLaw.jpg

Help is on the way, however, as Golden Law slide under the ring rope as one. Matt meets a Golden charge with a backdrop; Law catches him and whips him to the ropes, prepping for the Long Arm of the Law – and Matt ducks under it, turning, twisting, and getting an inverted DDT to put the big man down. He swivels, looking for Rockwell -

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SamKeith.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpg

He comes to a screeching halt. Sam Keith is in the way. Twisting, he sees Golden, but as he goes for him Johnny Bloodstone gets in the way. Lip curled with frustration, as Azaria drily notes that Bloodstone apparently is in the arena, Matt's fingers curl into fists – but he doesn't quite go for it.

And then his brother is in there, right in Matt's face, the two talking urgently. Bombshell joins them, just as fierce and enthusiastic in the discussion, a clear force in the debate, as the show goes to its last commercial.

Eddie Peak vs. Jeremy Stone

A truly, truly crazy battle, this; Peak and Stone give it everything, with Peak easily having the power advantage, arguably winning the brutality advantage, and being younger and more resilient. Maybe even faster.

But the sheer experience of Jeremy Stone is definitely equal to any two of those, perhaps more, and here he uses it to its full advantage. He goes for a knee – one of the easiest joints to seriously damage – and does his best to prevent Peak from standing on it. There is, of course, one problem with that.

In order to apply the most dangerous holds, it's necessary to put yourself in Peak's reach for an extended length of time.

Eddie whips Jeremy across the ring blind, and Jeremy crashes forearm-first into Sam Sparrow, hitting the ref sufficiently hard that he actually tumbles from the ring.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Remo.jpg

And the brawl continues, with Peak starting to get something that looks like an advantage – until Remo arrives, making his presence known, even in his street clothes, in his traditional style, a blindingly-fast spear out of nowhere.

Stone covers. Remo lifts Sparrow up on the outside, rests his body against the apron, and drives his hand down three times, giving the first pupil of the House of Stone the victory.

It takes Eddie less than half a second more to power out from the pin. With a savage bellow, he forces himself back onto the injured knee, then up onto his feet.

Remo stands on the entranceway, gesturing, beckoning him on. Eddie grins, nods, and steps over the top rope before dropping to ringside – and charges.

The brawl takes both competitors back up the ramp, bouncing off guardrails – and, after one release Peak of Perfection, Remo actually goes through a guardrail, buckling it irrevocably.

After perhaps twenty, thirty seconds, in which the exhausted, injured Peak sees himself victorious and begins to play to the crowd, Remo struggles back to his feet.

Eddie is livid. He jumps down there beside him. The brawl drives through the ranks of fans, eventually reaching the big Total Wrestling set. Remo has the upper hand at this stage, and a phenomenal German suplex buckles the steel of the set wall. Leaving Eddie propped against it, Remo backs up and goes for the spear. Eddie gets out of the charge range, but the entire section of steel, already dented, comes away from the rest of the set with a tortured sound. As the show ends and TCW officials finally pile in between the two behemoths, the camera zooms in on the steel's rupture, showing an edge seeming freshly-polished due to its sudden exposure – the metal has been ripped open.

“That's not going to be any kind of easy fix,” Dangerous observes.

Another Saturday comes around, and once again TCW and CBA will be bringing you the very best in televised professional wrestling. Sit back and relax, because coming up are matches you will not want to miss.

We begin with a six-man tag, as the Machines take on a Darkwave trio; Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach, and Zimmy will go head to head with the legendary tag team and their chosen protege. With both groups nursing grudges against other organisations, they're sure to see this contest as a chance to prove a point against some of the very best.

Another world-famous tag team lock up with two young multi-time champions as both duos look to climb back to the top of the mountain. Will the Fly Boys find new motivation now that American Buffalo is otherwise engaged, or will the New Wave make a statement?

Both men have a history in tag team wrestling. Both have seen another's title success leave them in shade, and neither are anything like undeserving of spotlight themselves. Following Matthew Keith's upset victory over Rick Law last night, Joey Minnesota has demanded a chance to make a statement of his own.

Eric Tyler also made a request for a match. His statement, passed on to us by Mayhem Midden after he greenlit the match, speaks for itself: "Throughout the years I've wrestled almost all of the best. Sometimes, though, you never quite get the chance. When McFly was supreme, I was extreme. By the time I was golden, he had gone north. I'm not as young as I was, but I want the chance to beat that champion before I retire."

Tag team action in a wide assortment of styles is next on the schedule; Eternal Party are looking to stake a claim by a victory over two of TCW's stalwarts, Tommy Cornell and Ricky Dale Johnson. Asked to comment, Edd Stone offered "Sure, I challenged 'em. Why not? Dude, I'm kinda buzzed right now... what are we talking about?"

Jeremy Stone has once again claimed the privilege of the main event, looking to lock horns with recent World Heavyweight Champion Troy Tornado. With Stone on an aggressive path to prove himself recently, this could be quite the contest...

Prediction Key:

The Machines (Brent Hill, John Anderson & Marc Speed) vs. Darkwave (Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach & Zimmy)

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly

Eternal Party vs. Ricky Dale Johnson & Tommy Cornell

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

The Machines (Brent Hill, John Anderson & Marc Speed) vs. Darkwave (Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach & Zimmy)

Darkwave has more going on right now so I give them a win here

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

Jobworthy is managing Fly Boys, do I really need to say anything else?

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith

Matthew continues to build up his frustration here

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly

McFly is more important.

Eternal Party vs. Ricky Dale Johnson & Tommy Cornell

RDJ and Cornell are bigger names so they should take this one.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

Not really sure about this one as I can see it going either way.

Interference from Painful Procedure will turn the tide here. Unless the slow-burning (ran out of space on all the shows) Easy Riders/Machines feud returns.

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

JOBBERS!

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith

He cheats, he scores!

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly

Yeah, but no.

Woo woo! Go Edd Stone!

Revenge Darkwave interference!

The Machines (Brent Hill, John Anderson & Marc Speed) vs. Darkwave (Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach & Zimmy)

The Machines for me are just kind of 'there' at the moment, floating around in the Upper Midcard, not looking like they'll get a major push anytime soon with everything else that is going on. Darkwave for me haven't quite made their mark yet (certainly in ring wise) as a stable so I see them picking up a solid win here. Then again I could quite easily see this going the other way if Painful Procedure get involved.

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

Aren't the Fly Boys, Jobworthy's only clients left these days, since he was dumped by American Buffalo. Maybe he can offer his services to Tooth and Claw aswell.

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith

Interesting match here, as both kind of have the same 'frustration' angle going on. Minnesota's frustrated that he isn't matching his own tag partners success, Matt Keith is frustrated that he is no longer tagging with his brother and was on something of a losing streak. However in evidence of a win over Law on Badge of Honor, it looks like he is finding a way to win.

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly

McFly's singles debut isn't going to be de-railed with a loss to Eric Tyler, no matter how much of a respected veteran Tyler is....you don't bring in someone of McFly's stature to be a jobber to the stars.

Eternal Party vs. Ricky Dale Johnson & Tommy Cornell

I would so love Eternal Party to pick up the win here, because to be honest RDJ kind of bores me and Edd is totally awesome, but my head says that ain't going to happen because RDJ and Cornell are established main eventers/TCW legends and Lover/Edd are a pair of rising stars with bright futures but not quite ready to be knocking on the main event door just yet.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

Since losing 'his' world title to Bloodstone to unify the belts, you have kept Tornado relevant without really pushing him back into the world title picture, Stone on the other hand has very much been in the title picture, so it would be something of an upset in my eyes if Tornado picked up the win here.

The Machines (Brent Hill, John Anderson & Marc Speed) vs. Darkwave (Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach & Zimmy) Scarcely seen the Machines lately, especially J&B

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave Losing streak over, the Wave get back to winning on TV.

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith Losing streak not over...

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly Can't see McFly losing this. So jealous, by the way.

Eternal Party vs. Ricky Dale Johnson & Tommy Cornell Yeah.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado After beating Peak I can't see Stone losing this. Could be a schmozz, though.

By the way, PS, any chance of a roster review at some point? Especially with some of your teams I have a struggle remembering who's who.

The Machines (Brent Hill, John Anderson & Marc Speed) vs. Darkwave (Jack Bruce, Sammy Bach & Zimmy)

- I can't in good conscience vote for Jobby Bruce (sorry, but I think Cornell could carry my untrained broomstick guest GM ass to a B match) however Bach and Zimmy have been active while the Machines were last scene in the grocery store checking milk cartons to see if their faces were on the sides.

The Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. The New Wave

- The New Wave have got their groove back. The Fly Boys are still managed by Jobworthy, Goldjobby, American Buffalo's sloppy cast-offs.

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith

- Suplex Kid... meet the Son of the Neutron Plex. Try to Proton your way out of this.

Eric Tyler w/ Laura Huggins vs. Sean McFly

- I can't see the vaunted and lauded McFly dropping his first singles contest, unless it's to disappear and return as an RCMP Officer. This match should also be main eventing. I don't care about the Overness or the TEW mechanics. Tyler/McFly that should... at the very least be the semi-main of a PPV. Midcard TV throwaway? That's just crass.

Eternal Party vs. Ricky Dale Johnson & Tommy Cornell

- Those perennial faces Rated RDC(ornell) win when Edd, Edd-Fu's himself into the 11th row for some reason and Lover realizes this match is contested exactly at sunset! That's just not fair on him.

Jeremy Stone vs. Troy Tornado

- Meh. Draw. Sorry. I'm protesting this match as it should be Tyler/McFly here. Plus I can't see Omega Generation not interfering, after all, we know they'll be at the show. They *have* to be.

***

Joey Minnesota vs. Matthew Keith Losing streak not over...

So defeating Rick Law on Badge of Honour doesn't count as a win now? >_<
