  • 1 month later...

Alright guys, I've returned!

The internet took over a month to return. Which was awful, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Then we were back for a new year at school which meant a new class and a whole new lot of work. And now I'm coming out the other side of swine flu.

Excuses excuses, I've got H1N1 but I've also got the TEW bug again; so look for an update on this in the next day or so.

BCW London Brawl

August 1, 2009

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/bcwlondonbrawl.jpg

Live on Internet Broadcast and in front of 703 people from Parliament Square, South of England.

Your commentary team

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/bernieevans.jpg and http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/mannymorhan.jpg

Bernie Evans and Manny Morhan

Bernie Evans: Ladies and gentlemen, it's a pleasure to welcome you to the second ever night of BCW wrestling.

Manny Morhan: Already we've had major issues crop up between various stars - many are wondering what is going on with the Inferno/Phil Netten conflict - can both men really be in the same place at once?

Bernie Evans: We'll see Joss Thompson defend his title as well tonight; this time he won't be able to weasel out of it so effectively as he goes against the frankly terrifying "Tower of London"; Danny Patterson.

Manny Morhan: We'll also get to witness the first ladder match in BCW history as our two best cruiserweights go head to head and..

Angle 1

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/gregkeith.jpg

"All Business" Gregory Keith's music hits and he appears at the top of the ramp, microphone in hand. He quietens the boos - the fans clearly not having forgotten his assault on Ali Bloxsome last month.

Keith: You can boo and you can cry all you want. The only feeling I thrive on is that of pure adrenaline. Anything else is a waste of time.

The boos quieten as the fans realise they're not bothering him at all.

Keith: For some strange reason, I have been completely ignored for tonight's event. I'm ignored in favour of washed up has-beens like Joey Beauchamp and Danny Patterson. No-one seems to realise quite how important I am. I'm the "signing of the century", damn it!

He pauses for a moment to collect himself.

Keith: Tonight, I'm going to take the bull by the horns. Unfortunately, there is no room tonight for me to take on anyone - but next month is a blank slade. At Midlands Mayem, I challenge you - Merle O'Curle. I challenge you to a submission only match. And I will beat you. That.. is an investment you can all bank on.

Keith leaves to rabid boos.

Match 1

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/waltermorgan.jpg vs. http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/inferno.jpg

Walter Morgan vs. Inferno

One Fall Match

Despite having a month to heal up, Morgan appeared to still be suffering and limping as he made his way to the ring. The injuries inflicted at the hands of the unknown assailant have evidently taken their toll on the veteran, and he was honestly in no shape to take on Inferno. Still, he tried valiantly - but found himself tied up in knots by the masked man. If he wasn't injured, he would have won this with little problem; but the damage within him crippled him from the start and made this little more than a formality. Inferno locked in an Infernal Device and forced the tapout after about 9 minutes.

Verdict: Inferno wins.

Match Rating: D+

Angle 2

Walter Morgan with Inferno

Walter stupidly goes for a handshake after the match, which Inferno mocks before launching into a vicious assault. That is until..

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/philnetten.jpg

A clearly furious Phil Netten makes the save, running in from the top of the ramp and chasing Inferno into the crowd. He helps Walter up again and guards him all the way to the back.

Angle Rating:E+

Match 2

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/donhenderson.jpg vs. http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/edwardcornell.jpg

Don Henderson vs. Edward Cornell

One Fall Match

The crowd were very keen to see the boss of BCW debut in singles action, but were right to feel worried when Don Henderson came out with Billy Robinson in tow. The tag team champs were obviously very keen on not letting anything damage their reputation. On paper, Cornell is actually the better worker, and had Henderson on the run; but a distraction and a very illegal low blow from Billy Robinson distracted Cornell just enough that Henderson could put him down for the three.

Verdict: Don Henderson wins.

Match Rating: D

Joey Beauchamp hype video

A short hype video plays on the screen for Joey Beauchamp, showing his successes in his past career; spanning three companies and four seperate titles.

Match 3

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/joeybeauchamp.jpg vs. http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/adammatravers.jpg

"The Breeze" Joey Beauchamp vs. "Mile High" Adam Matravers.

Ladder Match for the BCW United Kingdom Championship

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/bcwukjpg.jpg

An entertaining match full of thrills and spills from the two best cruiserweights in British wrestling. Both men stunned the crowd time and time again with nearly capturing the suspended belt, but the other would always be there to spoil it. A notable spot was Matravers suplexing Beauchamp from 3/4 of the way up the ladder, which put Joey clearly out of it and left a clear shot for Adam to get up to the title belt. However, as he reached the top and began to unclasp it, a hoodie clad figure sprinted in from the crowd and shouldered the ladder to the floor; causing Adam to land heavily. Helping Joey to his feet, the figure departed rapidly. Job done, Beauchamp slowly climbed to the top and managed to unclasp the belt for the win.

Verdict: "The Breeze" Joey Beauchamp wins and is the new BCW United Kingdom Champion

Match Rating: D+

Angle 4

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/jossthompson.jpg

Joss Thompson

Another standard hype angle, Thompson's 21CW and MOSC career is shown. It makes a big deal of his professional 12-2 record, and generally makes him look bloody good.

Angle Rating:D+

Match 4

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/jossthompson.jpg vs. http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/dannypatterson.jpg

"The Complete Package" Joss Thompson vs. "The Tower of London" Danny Patterson

One Fall Match for the BCW British Heavyweight Championship

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/bcwheavyweight.jpg

After the verbal ribbing he got last week, Danny Patterson was in no mood for games and stormed down the ramp like a bulldozer. Thompson had to pull every trick out of the bag tonight to keep the super-heavyweight from ripping him limb from limb. Patterson, an excellent brawler, soon found that it wasn't always enough to simply punch your opponent into submission, and Thompson began to unravel his gameplan. Locking on numerous holds due to his technical skills, Joss was causing Patterson to have a great deal of problems, before he got too ****y. He went to the top rope for an attempted splash, but was caught by the throat by a rising Patterson who then choke slammed him. As Patterson went for the pin, theme music started playing and..

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/bcw/joeybeauchamp.jpg

"The Breeze" Joey Beauchamp

Beauchamp appeared at the top of the ramp and began to work his way down to the ring towards Patterson. The Tower, completely forgetting about Joss Thompson due to his rage at being disturbed, psyched himself up to take on a second opponent. He didn't get his chance. Thompson took him completely by surprise, low blowed him and rolled him up on his back. Grabbing a handful of tights, Thompson picked up the very quick three and escaped up the ramp; laughing with Joey all the way.

Verdict: "The Complete Package" Joss Thompson wins and is STILL the BCW British Heavyweight Champion.

Match Rating: D

Improvements in skill: Argh, I forgot to write it down. There were a LOT of improvements this time though, which was lovely.

Chemistry Found: None found.

Final Event Rating: D

He didn't appear at the top of the ramp, but slid out from under the ring, with his face and front covered in what looked to be blood. Francis recoiled, but stuck to it like a true professional. We can't tell whether the blood that LeStat was covered in was making him more slippery than usual, but he took it to Francis with his typical brawl heavy style. The Rasta was obviously put off and unhappy with the situation, and this allowed LeStat to rather viciously beat on him. After a rather one sided 9 minutes, he smashed DBF with a Knife Edge and pinned him. The fans were lapping it up - Keith locking in the Proton Lock twice, only to have O'Curle reverse out of it or escape just in case. Keith was obviously getting frustrated, and went ringside to get his large steel briefcase and slid it into the ring. As referee Gary Garrett remonstrated with him about bringing it into the ring, Keith made a motion as if to say "Hey, idiot, remember this?" as he mimed getting something out of the case and handing it to the referee. As Garrett removed the case from the ring, Keith low blowed O'Curle and locked in the Proton Lock again; and sensationally Garrett called for the bell - despite there being no sign of Merle tapping! Keith escaped the ring quickly, as O'Curle screamed abuse at the referee for getting the call so blatantly wrong. This match was full of slams and powerbombs, both men doing their best to try to ragdoll the other around the ring. Hilariously, at one point the ring even sagged sideways a little, prompting both men to brawl into the small crowd as technical crew made their way ringside to try to fix the damage. As the slugfest continued, it became clear that the sheer size and power of The Tower of London was causing some major issues for Brown. Joss became notably quieter when he saw the destruction that Patterson was beginning to wreak on Pit Bull; cutting to complete silence when The Tower smashed the life out of Brown with a London Bridge out of seemingly nowhere.
