IWR-King of the Indies

Recommended Posts

If Jimmy Jacobs wins the title I'm going to be the happiest indy fan alive. I'm even in his fanlisting. ;). Jacobs for IWR Champion. The one thing I don't like, is a Hell in A Cell match. George Morbid and Grimm Reaper in a Hell in A Cell on a indy promotion in the midcard is unrealistic. But, as I bet you'll easily move on. This'll continue to be a great diary.

Yeah, I just did the Hell in a Cell because it was my big show of the month, and I knew the two wouldn't get a good rating the way the storyline was going, so I thought I'd see if the gimmick match would help the rating at all. Obviously it didn't work as it was a worse match than the one the show before. :(

Sunday Week 4, June 2006 IWR Defiance-Gerdon Youth Center Buffer: “Ladies and Gentlemen, Bruce Buffer here with Krissy Vaine, and boy do we have a spectacular show for you tonight!” Vaine: “Yes we do Bruce, and it looks like we’re getting some action going as we speak.” Josh Movado comes out to the ring to start the festivities. “Well, tonight I thought I’d try something new. It’s nothing earth shattering, but might add some fun to the show. I have here a hat, filled with all of the worker’s names that aren’t already booked tonight. The first two names I draw will be facing each other in our first match. The first name is….. Josh Abercrombie! And the second is…….. Frankie The Face!” E Backstage, Grimm Reaper runs into Mark Jindrak. He says he admires his style, and asks for an autograph. “I don’t have time for that kid. But how about you face me in the ring?” Grimm agrees. C -The first match of the evening is Abercrombie and Face. Frankie was unbeatable tonight as he easily defeated Abercrombie. D Breyer Wellington is backstage talking with Harry Smith. He wants back at The Threat II, and he wants Harry to be his partner. Harry says he’s ready to go. C- Eddie Venom comes down to the ring. “Hey Storm. You seem to think you are the best thing since sliced turkey. Why don’t you face me?” E -Grimm Reaper faced off against Mark Jindrak. It was a good close battle, but Jindrak took control using some cheap shots, and scored the pin. C Harry Smith and Breyer Wellington talk with Josh Movado and ask for a title shot tonight against The Threat II for a title match. Movado agrees. C- Buffer: Krissy do you think Storm will face Venom? This guy is really good, I bet he can beat Venom. Vaine: No way Bruce! Venom is too much for Storm. That wannabe spy will be sent crying back to his mamma. C+ Storm comes out to the ring. “Hey Eddie, I’ll take that challenge. By the way genius, it’s sliced bread, not turkey.” B- -The match of Storm and Venom really was a bit dull. Storm was good as always, but Venom looked lost. Storm won pretty easily with an Inverted DDT. C Trent Acid was interviewed, and said he’s excited for tonight. He feels he will be leaving with the KOI gold around his waist. C A video is played hyping up the tag team champs, The Threat II, as the crowd boos loudly. D -The tag team match was a brutal fight, that spilled out to the floor. At one point, Harry Smith and Truth Martini were the legal men. Martini distracted the ref, while Rivera grabbed a chair. The ref got back to them just as Rivera cracked the chair over Smith, and the ref called for the DQ. C- N8 Mattson came out for the KOI title match. “Hope all you want Acid, you ain’t going home with this belt. Now that I’ve got it, I’m not giving it up!” C- -Acid and Mattson are up, and get off to an exciting start. This was another match that ended up outside the ring, and even up the ramp. As they are at the back. N8 grabs something from the stage area, and hits Acid while the ref wasn’t looking. He gets him back to the ring, and eventually gets the pin. C- CK3 makes an appearance after the match. He mocks Trent Acid. “That was a nice match there Acid. Where did you learn to wrestle, in a trailer park?” E Wagner Brown came out before the Main Event, wearing an Indiana Hoosiers jersey. He promised the fans, that this was it. He would leave the IWR Heavyweight champion. C -The cage is lowered, and it’s on! Brown and Jacobs are giving it all they have tonight. Trouble brews as CK3 comes out again. Jacobs whips Brown into the ropes, knocking the ref down. CK3 has an officer’s knight stick, and throws it in to Jacobs. He wastes no time, and hits Brown twice in the head, laying him out, and throws the stick back out. As the ref recovers, he covers Brown, and gets the three count. C- Jacobs leaves the ring, and grabs the mic. “Once again, Jimmy Jacobs proves he’s the smartest guy here. And that’s why I’m the new IWR champion!” C- Krissy ends the show with some t-shirts. B- Attendance-296 Final Rating C- Month End: Hmm, still a downer on attendance. But hey, we made over $2500 this month! Woohoo! In news, we let go Zach Gowen. Maybe we’ll try to pick him up later for less. We re-signed Bruce Buffer and Krissy Vaine. I knew you would like that one Dwight. I actually messed up twice, but it worked out. I did a storyline for the tournament, and planned on giving it to Jacobs, but I didn't realize the ending had a set winner until after I started the storyline and saw Brown was to win. But then I messed up and made the finish of the last match a DQ not thinking that it wouldn't give Brown the title. But the storyline still finished, so it allowed me to do it different. :p

Wednesday Week 2, July 2006 Michigan Mayhem-Paramarx Arena The show starts off with Jimmy Jacobs, Mark Jindrak and Krissy Vaine in the ring. They do a skit mocking on a recent WWE love triangle segment. C+ After the skit, Buffer and Vaine hype up the fact that Mark Jindrak will be wrestling later on. C+ -The first match of the evening pitted Grimm Reaper against CK3. Grimm had the power advantage, but CK3 used all his dirty tricks before scoring a win with a sleeper that was clearly a choke hold. D A video hypes the Main Event between Devon Storm and Jimmy Jacobs in a non title match. C Mark Jindrak came out saying he’s scheduled to wrestle, and it’s an open invitation to anyone man enough to face him. C+ -The next match was the young Harry Smith vs. Bobby Bambino. The two put on a good match, which saw Smith get the pin after a Running Powerslam. C Brad Martin came out and accepted Jindrak’s challenge. C As the two get ready, a Jindrak hype video is played. C+ -The match was good, as Jindrak and Martin once again clicked well. In the end, Jindrak was too powerful, and beat down Martin outside the ring, and he couldn’t beat the ten count. C Jimmy Jacobs came out to put down the crowd. He said they paid their money, so they were going to see what they came for, him beating Storm senseless. C+ Devon Storm came out and retorted that Jacobs must be on crack. He doesn’t see any reason why he would lose. C+ -The Main Event was a huge success as Jacobs and Storm put out a good long match. The crowd ate it up as CK3 made a surprise appearance taking out Storm with a bat while the ref was distracted. Jacobs then got the pinfall for the win. C+ Krissy sent the crowd home with some wife beaters. C- Brown hyped up his match with CK3, and said it was payback time. C- A video hyping the match follows. D -Brown and Kennedy had a heated match that saw good offense on both sides. C- A video plays hyping the Mattson/Siaki match, and shows what went down earlier. C Mattson comes down prior to the match. “Movado you don’t scare me! I don’t care who you send out here to face me. He’s still going home in a body bag!” C -Siaki came down to a loud round of cheering to start the match. Both men really played off each other well. B- Attendance-602 Final Rating C+ Month End: It was an excellent month for the IWR. We had two great shows, and attendance took a big spike. We signed Sonny Siaki to a PPA deal. We think he has some great talent in the ring, and should give us a leg up in the wrestling world. We also let go long time referee Brian Gorie and hired Marty Rubalcaba. Marty has a little more experience, and also has some booking skill. Money wise we did very well making over $6500 in July. D -The tag match was not a great one, with Grimm and Acid pretty much manhandling the big men. Grimm took the pinfall after the Death Toll. D N8 and Jimmy Jacobs go to talk with Josh Movado. Jacobs isn’t happy about his rematch with Devon Storm, and N8 again complains about wanting the night off. Movado is pissed at this point and tells them tough luck. Storm and Jacobs will be the Main Event, preceded by a match for the KOI title with N8 facing Brad Martin. Jacobs tells Movado that was a mistake, and he will pay. Brown says to stop ***** footing around, and face him in the ring if he’s man enough. D -Before the match, Brown announced it would be a First Blood match. Rivera didn’t mind since Brown was already softened up. But Wagner was ready to bust some heads and had no trouble breaking Rivera open after slamming him into the ring steps. Besides, his back is covered. C- Jacobs laughed, “Movado you really don’t know what’s about to go down here. I’m way smarter than you give me credit for. I’ve got things under control, and soon you will all see what I mean.” C+ -Martin and Mattson put on an excellent show for the fans. It looked like it might actually be a close clean match, but Mattson had some help from Jacobs as he cheated for the win. C+ Krissy Vaine comes out to keep the crowd warmed up with some shirts-B Devon Storm came out for the match. He apologized to the fans for their disappointment week after week as Jimmy Jacobs cheats to win, and cheats them of a good match. Tonight he will see to it, that the match ends properly. C+ -The Main Event was an amazing bout, full of excitement. The two men hammered on each other for a long time. Eventually CK3 came out to attack Storm. But shortly after, Wagner Brown ran down to intercept him. It looked like Jacobs had met his fate as Storm was on top of the match. But lo and behold, who comes out from the back but Big Sexy, Kevin Nash. Brown and CK3 are still slugging, and Storm doesn’t see the big man, as he steps into the ring and nearly takes a chunk out of Storm’s skull with the title belt ending the match in a DQ.
