Jonathan Huang beat Bill Brown by Submission in 4:14 of round 4 to win the UFC Welterweight title (Good)

Attendance: 3,646 for a gate of $182,300

Pay-Per-View: 53,338 buys for a revenue of $213,352

Show Rating: Very Poor

Commentary: I simply had no big stars to use this time around, and so I had no way of putting on a really good show. At least the fights were exciting to watch. We also still ended the month in the black, which I am happy for. Once my current fighters are up for contract renewals, the wage bill is going to get ugly. So for the time being, we are sorta stuck where we are at, until I can build some stars. The problem, of course, will be finding a way to pay those stars.

Pay-Per-View: 65,288 buys for a revenue of $261,152

Show Rating: Decent

Commentary: This show went much better than I expected it to, given that I once again had to use lower-tier fighters. Thankfully, they put on a good show, and people gave them a chance to shine. Now I can really begin to prepare for the big tournaments. One more show, and then the contracts will all be lined up and ready to go. The women's tournament will come up first, then the men's tournament. It should be exciting and both tournaments should hopefully garner a lot of attention.

Show Rating: Fantastic

Commentary: Given that the fans thought this would not be a very good event, I was quite pleased to see that it won such critical acclaim. Philip Ziskie and Jonathan Huang are definitely big enough stars to help carry the promotion to new heights, assuming I can keep them on contract for reasonable prices. Next up, it is finally time to hold the openweight tournaments. Most likely, the women's tournament will be first, but that could change if the men are ready first, though that is unlikely. It is finally time to see who the best of the best is!

Attendance: 5,974 for a gate of $298,700

Pay-Per-View: 80,808 buys for a revenue of $323,232

Show Rating: Excellent

Commentary: I was supremely disappointed that none of the lighter fighters were able to compete against the big guys in this event. They clearly were not as good as people thought they were, to be so easily overtaken by something as simple and insignificant as size. Well, now I know. Unfortunately, it turns out that I shot myself in the foot big time with this tournament, as the prize money well outweighed the money made from the event, putting me deep in the red. Now bankruptcy is right around the corner. Alas, the end could be near. It looks like this was one gamble that might not pay off.

Show Rating: Great

Commentary: The amazing streak of Lindsey Lewis finally came to an end at the hands of the woman she defeated for the UFC Women's Heavyweight title, even if it was a slightly controversial decision given that it was the first barrage that Layla managed to land on Lindsey. Meanwhile, Thea Higgins demonstrated that she is the best female fighter in the world by keeping her streak alive and taking on all comers in order to win the entire tournament. We were able to make up some of the money lost from the men's tournament, but we are still operating in the red as of right now.

Not only that, but the quality of the most recent shows and the two tournaments was enough to push the UFC ahead of the competition, making it the top promotion heading into 2002!

Commentary: That is much better. I had to go ahead and book all my champions in order to have champions with wins on their belts. That and to get them a little more popularity. Unfortunately, the prize money from this card put us really deep in the red once more. I have no idea how GAMMA and ALPHA-1 make so much money, as they have the same revenue I do but more expensive fighters. It is baffling how they pull it off. I will figure it out somehow, though, if we can manage to avoid bankruptcy for a while longer. We will need a lot of luck to pull this off.

I know that whenever I play as GAMMA, I do not make a profit when I hold the Raul Hughes vs James Foster fight. I am not sure how the AI manages to pull off a profit.

ALPHA-1 currently has over $40 million and GAMMA has over $16 million. I am trying to figure out the secret, and maybe I will be able to figure it out now that I have hit Low Level International. I certainly hope so, because I have a hard time staying in the black.

Commentary: The top matches this evening were fairly well received at the time of booking. I have no idea what threw the quality off. The fans are too picky about what they want to see it seems. I am doing the best I can, and I seem to have made the company profitable once again, but I am not sure how long that will last under current conditions. This should have been a fantastic show; Lindsey Lewis avenged her questionable TKO loss to Layla Holmes and took two out of their three matches, and William Harrison defeated the top fighter in the world. I would think that this card should have been a real spectacle.
